Blood Music New Releases: Kauan, Schizoid Lloyd

Kauan "Muistumia"

Τhe Russian/Ukrainian doom outfit Kauan's sixth album - "Muistumia." The album's title means "reminiscences" and is a professionally re-recorded collection of the band's best material from their early years, plus the opening track "Unsoi," which is a newly composed song.

The Russian/Ukrainian outfit's sixth album is due for pre-order on October 23rd and release on November 4 th, 2014, through Finnish label Blood Music.

Through Kauan's growth and experimentation, its sound and production has vastly improved since its humble beginnings as a band of teenagers in remote Chelyabinsk, Russia. It was decided while in between labels (between the period of "Kuu.." and "Pirut") to privately crowdfund the professional recording of a collection of re-arranged tracks from the band's early years.

The band created the album under the name of "Private Release" - re-recording six of the main tracks from the albums "Lumikuuro" and "Tietäjän Laulu" in addition to the recording of a brand new song called "Unsoi."

The release was intended only for a core group of 53 individuals, but the band wound up using all the money raised (and more) to create the most professional album possible and ran out of funds to produce physical editions of the work. It has been continually uploaded to YouTube and other sites and sought after by fans, so after a long discussion - the decision was made for Blood Music to kick in additional funds to create full artwork and to print limited physical editions of the album to pay the band for their efforts and to finally bring it to life.

It has thus been renamed for official release as "Muistumia," which translates to "Reminiscences."

Schizoid Lloyd "The Last Note in God's Magnum Opus"

"The Last Note in God's Magnum Opus" is the energetic and freakish debut album bySchizoid Lloyd - a Dutch progressive metal unit whose incredible musical hodgepodge of interests shine through within moments of the 57-minute release – effortlessly hopping from Queen fueled vocal harmonies to Mr. Bungle lounging to Leprous progression to short outbursts of lunar insanity and even a dash of singersongwriter sensitivity and white boy rap (when required). Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart mwould be very, very proud. The band's debut album took a very careful and considerate five years to compose and record and is being released through cult Finnish label Blood Music.

Release date: November 2014

Schizoid Lloyd is a progressive rock/metal band containing six lads from Holland with a bloodlust for mthe bold and the beautiful. One could describe their efforts as "incredible musical soundscapes recalling the greatest moments of Leprous, Queen and Mr. Bungle, while adding in touches of practically every other rock band imaginable - from Devin Townsend to Bon Iver to maudlin of the Well to System of a Down." - Blood Music

The debut album "The Last Note In God's Magnum Opus" will be released on November 4th and is mixed by Andre Alvinzi and mastered by Jens Bogren at the Swedish Fascination Street Studios (Opeth, Katatonia, Soilwork). Schizoid Lloyd has played live alongside acts as Freak Kitchen[SWE], Amplifier[UK], Bumblefoot[USA], Ali B [NL], Long Distance Calling [GER], toured in Norway and Germany, and were considered one of the surprising highlights of Progpower Europe 2011.
