Pagan's Mind moved to ProgPower Europe 2015

Due to unfortunate family circumstances Pagan's Mind are forced to postpone their ProgPower Europe 2014 performance. The band issued the following statement:

"PAGAN'S MIND TO POSTPONE PERFORMANCE TO 2015

In good cooperation with our long time business partner and friend, Progpower Europe promoter Rene Jansen, we announce that we have to postpone our performance to next year's edition of the festival. This was not an easy decision for us, but for the time being, due to a passing in close family, we are not capable of performing the kind of show we know we are capable of and you have come to expect from us. We will return in 2015, and will make sure we fire on all cylinders to make this up to you. Thank you for understanding. We look forward to seeing you next year."
As the ProgPower Europe weekend is only a week away we are doing our utmost to find a good replacement. Ideas have already formed and it appears we will be able to offer something special. This will be announced on the short term, once all the details have been confirmed.

About ProgPower Europe

ProgPower Europe

In less than 2 weeks the ProgPower Europe Weekend will be upon us. For many it is the end of a year's wait, the end of a long period of anticipation, looking forward to stay at the castle, listen to great music and meet friends. First time visitors who do not know what to expect will wonder what to make of the stories, where to go, what the stay is like, how the atmosphere is, etc, etc.

Each and every visitor will have favorite bands to look forward to and curiosity for bands that (yet) sound unfamiliar.

Knowing it is a a great line-up, we, of ProgPower Europe, are in last preparations to make sure it will be a great metal weekend in an atmosphere of respect, fun and silliness. An atmosphere that seems unique to ProgPower Europe. An atmosphere that can only be experienced, not explained.

So although we are close to selling out (Sunday tickets are selling fast), tickets are still availble at:

So if you have not yet done so: be sure to order your tickets now!

Exlibris – more details on the new album “Aftereal”

"Aftereal", the new album by Exlibris, will have its premiere in late Autumn! The band are drawing toward the end of their work at the studio. All the instruments have already been recorded and only the vocal parts are yet to be finished. The band are sure to surprise their fans this time around, also because of the many outstanding guest musicians featured on the album.

While working on "Aftereal", the band kept coming up with ideas for particular guest appearances. In the end, the line-up became quite impressive: Piotr "Dziki" Chancewicz (Wild Pig, Mech) and Piotr Rutkowski from Corruption played guitar solos. Misiek comments: "It was Dani who thought of Piotrek 'Rutkoś' Rutkowski, known from, among other bands, Corruption and Spirit, and that was a bullseye. This incredibly talented young man recorded a beautiful guitar solo - the longest one on 'Aftereal'. The album's intro, in turn, was recorded by Michał Staszkun, known from his cooperation with Hate. There's one more guest performer that will appear on the album. The details regarding that guest appearance, however, are for now shrouded in mystery. We only know he's a well known artist and that he contributed his vocal talent". Exlibris' drummer adds: "We're extremely satisfied about that lineup, as every single guest performer did his absolute best, and every one of them did it in their own style, making the album even more diversified. I shudder at the thought of who we might be inviting on our next album."

The recordings took place at ZED Studio. The vocal parts are being recorded at HZ Studio, where the band's previous album "Humagination" was recorded. The mix and mastering are handled by Tomek Zalewski. The previous Exlibris album, the second one in its discography, was released last Autumn to a great success, featuring melodic death metal music on the international level.

At this link, you can check out some photos from the studio. https://www.facebook.com/metalmindproductions/posts/10152607734406069

The band was formed in late 2003 by Daniel Lechmański and Piotr Sikora. Their first studio album "Skyward" from 2006 received quite good reviews. Over the next few years, the bands struggled with line-up changes within the rhythm section, but continued to create music and to play occasional concerts. In the meantime, Daniel Lechmański joined Chain Reaction and recorded three albums with them. Also, Piotr Sikora is a member of Leash Eye since 2009. In January 2012 the band started to record their second album - "Humagination". During the recording time, it turned out that their vocalist Marcin will not be able to complete the recordings. Krzysztof Sokołowski aka Mistress of the Night  became their new frontman. As a result, the recordings ended in early 2013. Their next album "Aftereal"  is scheduled for release in late Autumn 2014. The title "Aftereal" reflects the album's atmosphere and lyrics, and there was complete agreement in the band about that choice. The keyboard player Piotr Sikora comments, "Just like it was with 'Humagination', there's a certain leitmotif in the lyrics, which refers to the album's title. They describe realities other than our own - from nightmares, through some kind of fantasy, to the so-called netherworld."

Exlibris - lineup:
Krzysztof Sokołowski - vocals
Daniel Lechmański - guitars, vocals
Piotr Sikora - keys, orchestration, programming, vocals
Piotr Torbicz - bass
Misiek Ślusarski - drums

Paul Di’Anno – “The Beast Arises” DVD postponed – check another clip

The Beast is back! The original voice of Iron Maiden, and the front man of such bands as Killers, Battlezone and Gogmagog, arises to bring his fans a show of sheer heavy metal brutality! Paul Di'Anno returned to Poland in April to play a string of live shows. One of the shows -  at Lizard Club in Kraków on April, 9th - was recorded for the purposes of a live DVD release "The Beast Arises". You can now see another preview of the DVD on Metal Mind Productions' YouTube channel. Track "Running Free" is available at THIS location.

The material from the DVD captures a sensational live show in a club full of audience that would not let Di'Anno leave the stage for a long time. The release features mind-blowing performances of the classic material from the first two Iron Maiden studio albums, "Iron Maiden" and "Killers", as well as songs by Killers, Battlezone, and, to top it off, a fierce cover of Ramones' "Blitzkrieg Bop" – all this making for an outstanding show that will leave no fan in doubt that the Beast has truly risen! The DVD also includes an interview with Paul Di'Anno, a photo gallery and other extras.

Due to technical problems, Paul Di'Anno's DVD "The Beast Arises" has been postponed to October, 27th in Europe and November, 18th in North America (via MVD). Other formats: CD and LP (out in December).

This English singer is best known as the first vocalist to record with the iconic band Iron Maiden, from 1978 to 1981. Despite world-wide success lurking just around the corner, Di'Anno departed from the band by the fall of 1981 (he's since admitted that he was partying a bit too hard around the time of his departure from Maiden). However, Di'Anno's unique and extremely powerful voice had made a huge impression on rock music fans the world over, and also gained him an army of fans due to the sales of more than 20 million copies of the first two Iron Maiden albums ("Iron Maiden" & "Killers") featuring Paul's unique vocal talent.
In his post-Maiden career, Di'Anno has issued numerous albums, both as a solo artist and as a member of such bands as Gogmagog, Battlezone and Killers, and he has been featured (either as the artist or as a guest) on more than 60 albums released world-wide.
As a confirmed icon of the metal genre Di'Anno is constantly gigging (with his various bands) throughout all of Europe, USA, Canada, Central & South America, Australia, Asia etc.
Di'Anno has even had time to have his first full sized and highly acclaimed Book/Autobiography released entitled "The Beast", which is a no holds barred journey through his turbulent and often disturbing car crash lifestyle, throughout the last two decades.
Although he only appeared on the first two Maiden albums, Maiden's work with Paul Di'Anno remains among metal's all-time finest, and to this day those two albums are idolized and thought of as "The All Time Classics" by most Metal fans and musicians alike throughout the World.

Original Judas Priest Vocalist Al Atkins and Guitar Virtuoso Paul May To Release Third Atkins May Project Album 'Empire Of Destruction'

"Empire of Destruction' offers an Apocalyptic Vision
 with a Message of Hope"

London, UK - After the Success of their first two albums 'Serpents Kiss' and 'Valley Of Shadows', the Atkins May Project returns in grand style, with yet another Colossal Album of Gargantuan Proportions!

Like its predecessors 'Empire Of Destruction' comes once again straight out of the heart of "Black Country" in the UK, the "Home of Metal"! The album continues its Classic Rock theme with enough metal moments to melt your face off, yet features an abundance of imagination and class to intrigue even the most progressive of tastes.

Says Al, "From 'World at War' to 'Whisper to the Wind' it will take you on a journey of battle fields to sombre tears..."

Again boasting a superb collection of immense Rock and Metal tracks with standout vocals throughout from Atkins (sounding like he's gargled with razor blades for breakfast!) To the tasteful guitar work of musical virtuoso May, who still shreds the axe like the old guitar masters themselves. All in all another Authoritative release from these Classic British Rock Merchants.

Says Paul, "Our first album 'Serpents Kiss' set the bench mark for the second 'Valley of Shadows', a mature classic metal affair, that in turn set a much higher new bench mark for 'Empire of Destruction', which has evolved into something I believe will stand the test of time, an to be album to proud of."

Al Atkins: Noted for forming UK's Judas Priest and fronting them for four years and laying down the foundations which would see them eventually selling 40 million albums worldwide. He also wrote songs for them which went gold like "Dreamer Deceiver", "Never Satisfied", "Winter", "Caviar and Meths" and Priest's all time classic "Victim of Changes". Al's unique powerful vocal style sites influences by noted rock singers Roger Daltrey, Paul Rodgers and longtime friend Robert Plant. Al has done countless radio and TV interviews worldwide and recently featured in the BBC TV 'British Heritage'. He has even written a book on his musical life about growing up in Birmingham, UK alongside Robert Plant and Black Sabbath called 'Dawn of the Metal Gods'. Al has released 6 solo albums to date, and teamed up with brilliant Christian writer/guitarist Paul May to record their critically acclaimed debut album 'Serpent's Kiss'.

Paul May: Some people learn to play guitar, Paul was born to play guitar! Paul has become respected for his passionate, soulful guitar work and noted for his explosive and exciting solos. As a world class professional guitarist and songwriter, Paul has played and recorded sessions across the globe, touring and playing throughout the UK, Europe, USA and the Eastern block. Paul appears on around 50 albums to date, featured in both the secular and Christian arenas. Paul is also a record producer and has covered the entire spectrum of musical tastes in production.

Now with the release of the new Atkins May Project CD, the dichotomous duo are ready once again to bring their special brand of rock and metal to the masses. If standing in a Wind Tunnel and being hit in the stomach by a bowling ball is your kind of album ... rush out and buy it!

Eric Clapton's 'Pilgrim' Album To Be Release on Limited Numbered Edition Hybrid SACD

Eric Clapton's 'Pilgrim' Album To Be Release on Limited Numbered Edition Hybrid SACD

"An Inspiring Masterpiece From The Guitar God - an essential to the Clapton library!"

Camarillo, CA – Adding to the series of Eric Clapton reissues, Marshall Blonstein's Audio Fidelity will be releasing Clapton's 1998 album 'Pilgrim' on Limited Numbered Edition Hybrid SACD! From the song titles "River of Tears," "Broken Hearted," "Going Down Slow," "Sick and Tired" on down, 'Pilgrim' is the musical journal of an artist who has wandered into some dark places and come back the wiser for his troubles. 1998's 'Pilgrim' is the 13th studio album by Eric Clapton, it was his first album of original material since 1989's 'Journeyman' (also recently reissued on Hybrid SACD by Audio Fidelity).

The album is an intriguing musical tableau that experiments with drum machines and synthesized dashes of electronica and an inventive use of strings, performed by the London Session Orchestra, reminiscent of old-school R&B. There is wonderful, graceful guitar work throughout 'Pilgrim', Clapton provides some great hooks and emotional melodies. The best songs on this eloquent album of orchestrated blues meditations express a choked-up grief and despair. The songwriting is the standout feature of this album. Clapton wrote in his autobiography that he wanted to make the "saddest album." He wrote or co-wrote every song except "Born in Time," an overlooked Bob Dylan tune, and "Going Down Slow," a classic blues written by St. Louis Jimmy. In two songs, "My Father's Eyes" and "Circus," Clapton alludes to the tragic death of his 4-year-old son. The songs are very moving with more complicated melodies and in depth lyrics. Clapton's emphasis is placed on the entire arrangement instead of being built around a jam session.

Eric's voice has never sounded better, his singing is raw and passionate, much of the music is informed by smooth R&B textures. On the album's sizzling title track, he evokes some of the soulful eloquence of the great Curtis Mayfield. Clapton's vocals are among the most convincing of his career. 'Pilgrim' is an atmospheric album whose mood is mostly melancholy. Unbearable loss and yearning are the central themes of 'Pilgrim', and with its heartbeat bass lines, melodic, meditative guitar figures and heartbreaking lyrics, it offers moments of pure beauty.

"...another evolutionary step from an always rebellious and ever-changing artist."

The album produced multi-platinum sales and appeared on the year-end Top 100 lists of countries all around the world.

Blues Ace Popa Chubby Celebrates 25 Years On The Road With A Brand New Album I’m Feelin’ Lucky And A West Coast Tour!

Los Angeles, CA - Larger than life blues figure Popa Chubby has a lot of reasons to feel lucky this year. 2014 marks the 25th anniversary of his emergence as a powerful force in the venerable New York blues scene with his very own band, and his own unique brand of hard hitting, face melting, blues rock n' funky soul. And he'll celebrate this major milestone the only way he knows how, with the release of a smokin' hot studio album I'm Feelin' Lucky - coming October 14 on Cleopatra Records - and a series of shows on the West Coast!

"It's been 25 years and I'm still standing," declares Popa Chubby, and considering the long and rugged road he's had to travel, that in itself is a miracle. From his beginning in the late '70s as a "bad kid with an afro and a brand new Gibson Midnight Special guitar" to his stint as a punk rock sideman for Screaming Mad George and Richard Hell, among others, to signing a deal with Sony and releasing one of the top selling blues albums of 1994 (the phenomenal Booty And The Beast), Popa Chubby has seen it all and lived to tell about it on well over a dozen studio albums!

His newest effort I'm Feelin' Lucky gave the veteran musician an opportunity to reflect on his extraordinary career and to work on new musical ideas and arrangements in a relaxed, low-pressure setting. Recording at his home studio in the Hudson Valley, Popa called on some of his closest associates to help bring this album to life, including drummer Chris Reddan, keyboardist Dave Keyes, and bassist Francesco Beccaro. In addition, two very special guests brought even more magic to the proceedings, vocalist Dana Fuchs, mostly known for her role in the 2007 Beatles musical Across The Universe, as well as one of the most revered blues players around today, Mike Zito of the Royal Southern Brotherhood.

I'm Feelin' Lucky is Popa's debut album for Cleopatra and contains some of his best and most deeply felt writing. "The Way It Is" is an "urban soul ballad," he explains, "that's about those times when you just sit there and you realize that you're all messed up and there ain't nothing you can do about it...that's the blues right there." The title track is a major slice of "badass funk" with heavy wah wah pedal guitar playing from Popa and "great New Orleans style lyrics." "I'm A Pitbull (Nothin' But Love)" may be the song closest to his heart: "I'm a big dog lover. I have a little pitbull and I love him dearly. They're a very misunderstood breed. I work with people at a pitbull rescue who work with these dogs and train them to be service dogs for veterans coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan. It's a beautiful thing. There is not a more loyal, devoted and emotionally intuitive dog." It's these very same qualities in Popa Chubby's own gracious persona that have been drawing fans to his music for over 2 decades.

Fans will also delight in hearing that Popa Chubby's Universal Breakdown Tour hits the West Coast later this year with a slew of shows starting in Las Vegas at the Big Blues Bender held in the Riviera Hotel & Casino. For complete tour information, visit www.popachubby.com and get lucky with Popa Chubby!

Ancestral Legacy return with 2nd album

Ancestral Legacy sign with Whispering Voice Records
Band's 2nd album released on September 29th

Norway's ANCESTRAL LEGACY announce their 2nd album, "Terminal", a follow-up to 2010's "Nightmare Diaries".

ANCESTRAL LEGACY first started as a symphonic extreme metal band around 1998. After some major line-up changes in 2002, the band transformed into a more gothic sounding dark/doom metal band, with some subtle progressive elements, featuring both male growls as well as female vocals.

"Terminal" was recorded at various locations in Norway and was mixed and mastered by Jone Vaananen (Insomnium, Ikuinen Kaamos) in Finland. The band has performed live in their home country as well as abroad and has also shared the stage with well-known acts such as Sirenia, Ulver, Green Carnation and Theatre Of Tragedy.

Vocalist/guitarist Eddie Risdal was selected by legendary Swedish producer/artist Dan Swano to perform some guest vocals for his new project Witherscape which was released to critical acclaim in the summer of 2013.

Special note should be made to female vocalist Isadora Cortina who is originally from Mexico, but moved to Norway in 2009. She is classically trained, but as is clearly evident by her performance on this album, deep down inside she has a true "metal heart!"

ANCESTRAL LEGACY are the first signing of Norwegian label Whispering Voice Records and "Terminal", which is due for release on September 29th, will be available both on CD and digital through all major stores.

A track taken from the album is now available for streaming and free download at  https://soundcloud.com/ancestrallegacy/lethe-part-1 while a lyric video of the same track can be watched at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHiNvPzgB1U.

"Terminal" will soon be available for pre-order directly from the band's official website (http://www.ancestrallegacy.com/) and all pre-orders will include some cool bonus items as well.

Burnt Belief (Porcupine Tree) returns with new album "Etymology" this fall

BURNT BELIEF RETURNS WITH "ETYMOLOGY"
THIS FALL ON ALCHEMY RECORDS

Instrumental collaboration between U.K. bassist Colin Edwin
(Porcupine Tree) and U.S. guitarist Jon Durant out October 21

COHASSET, MA - World-renowned bassist Colin Edwin (Porcupine Tree, Metallic Taste of Blood, Ex-Wise Heads) and guitarist/composer Jon Durant have once again teamed up under the moniker Burnt Belief for the release of a new album of progressive ethno-ambient fusion instrumentals titled Etymology. Etymology will be released on October 21, 2014 via Alchemy Records, and will be available at Burning Shed, Amazon, CD Baby, iTunes, jondurant.com and other digital outlets.

An Etymology teaser video can be seen on YouTube at: http://youtu.be/aa0yLjSHr3Q.

"We feel like we've progressed within our shared approach, including some new harmonic, rhythmic and melodic elements," commented Jon Durant.

"Much of our compositional approach remains consistent from the first Burnt Belief record," he added. "For instance, a number of the pieces began as ambient cloud guitar atmospheres, which Colin would then explore and find rhythmic grooves to play over or with the clouds. Then, I would maybe re-arrange, construct melodic ideas, and send back to Colin for further input from him. In this way, the pieces evolve, sometimes very far from their original state."

The compositions which unfold across Etymology's 70 minutes showcase the duo's fruitful symbiosis and clear developmental path across their shared musical landscape. Assimilating diverse elements ranging from polyrhythms, deep ECM styled atmospherics and even angular nu-jazz abstraction, the result is an immersive, multi-layered and engrossing documentation of a remarkably sympathetic musical connection.

Etymology is further enhanced by sensitive, deep electric violin performances from highly regarded classical musician Steve Bingham, also known for his evocative work with U.K. art-rock band No-Man.

The album's title is a metaphor for the pair's working methodology, in which compositions evolve from an initial germ of an idea into a fully realized piece. The resulting work is often very different from its original concept yet still maintains the initial elements at its core.

1. Chromatique
2. Dissemble
3. Précis
4. Hraunfossar
5. Convergence
6. Rivulet
7. White Keys
8. Not Indifferent
9. Hover
10. Chimera
11. Squall

Edwin and Durant first teamed up for Durant's 2011 album Dance of the Shadow Planets, a wholly live in the studio documentation of their nascent musical chemistry centered around Durant's atmospheric compositions and featuring also the talents of violinist Caryn Lin and multi-percussionist Jerry Leake.

The follow-up to Dance of the Shadow Planets, 2012's eponymously titled Burnt Belief, was distance recorded, but a fully collaborative compositional affair with Edwin taking equal responsibility for the writing process. Having confidently cemented their working methods and musical connection with the well-received Burnt Belief, the duo undertook some live dates in the U.K. and Ukraine with Kiev-based female vocal duo Astarta (as Astarta/Edwin), a project Colin has been working on for some time, but presently on ice due to the current instability in the country.

Energized by working together in a live environment again in late 2013, Edwin and Durant reconvened to create the present album, Etymology. Whilst still retaining the strong sonic identity laid down on Burnt Belief, Etymology represents a considerable expansion and natural evolution of their sound, not least because of the additional input of three marvelous drummers (Vinny Sabatino, Dean McCormick and Jose Duque) to complement and reinforce the programmed electronic rhythms.

"Colin and I both felt that after two records utilizing hand drums exclusively, it was time to change it up and go with a live drum kit to augment Colin's rhythm programming. It ended up giving the pieces a much harder edge to them, and this in turn allowed me to push my guitars a little more over the top."

KSCOPE ANNOUNCES SIGNING OF MULTI-INSTRUMENTALIST DUO NORDIC GIANTS

ENGLAND - Kscope is thrilled to announce the signing of multi-instrumentalist duo Nordic Giants. Ahead of the debut album coming in early 2015, Kscope will be release Nordic Giants' 2014 self-released EPs 'Build Seas' and 'Dismantle Suns' together on one LP and CD this fall.

A teaser video for the new signing can be seen on YouTube at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjhOGU-KdwM

Nordic Giants spent the last couple of years bringing its bespoke formula of claustrophobic post-rock cinematic sound to audiences across the U.K. They have recently toured with Public Service Broadcasting, God Is An Astronaut and 65daysofstatic, this Summer playing festivals including 2000 Trees, Kendal Calling and Y-Not as well as their own headline shows. They have performed in churches, disused Victorian music halls and converted seaside bandstands to enhance the audience experience of their atmospheric soundscapes.

Seeing Nordic Giants has been described as akin to a religious experience. Multi-screen visuals, powerful strobes and exquisitely timed accompaniment create a whole that appears far greater than the sum of its parts. Each performance is accompanied by award-winning short films which coupled with haunting piano, bowed guitar, climactic drums and array of guest vocalists gives the audience a mind-blowing and visceral experience that goes beyond the normal descriptors.

Kscope was formed in 2008 providing a home for an evolving and adventurous style of music without boundaries. Nordic Giants join a roster that includes North Atlantic Oscillation, Engineers, Steven Wilson, Ulver, Anathema & The Pineapple Thief.

Stay tuned for more information on Nordic Giants.

Osada Vida unveil the artwork of the album “The After-Effect”

Osada Vida, one of the most interesting Polish bands on the rock/metal scene, still work on their fifth studio album. The material entitled "The After-Effect" is scheduled for release on November, 3rd in Europe and December, 2nd in North America (via MVD).

Their highly acclaimed previous album "Particles" made the band work even harder on the follow-up material. An up-to-date info from the studio is available on the band's facebook profile: www.facebook.com/osadavida

Today, the band reveal the cover artwork of "The After-Effect" album. As with their previous releases, the artwork was done again by the band's keyboardist, Rafał Paluszek.

Osada Vida is one of the most interesting Polish bands on the prog-rock/metal scene. Their discography includes three demos and four well received official releases - "Three Seats Behind a Triangle" (2006/2007), "The Body Parts Party" (2008), "Uninvited Dreams" (2009) and "Particles" (2013). Their albums feature elaborately beautiful music in the vein of Yes, Porcupine Tree, Pain Of Salvation and Riverside. In early July, Osada Vida released their first live DVD entitled "Where The Devils Live" featuring the recording of their live appearance at the Wyspianski Theater in Katowice, Poland in Autumn 2011. In 2012 the band debuted in a new improved line-up - they have added a new vocalist Marek Majewski, previously known from the band Acute Mind. In Autumn 2013 the band replaced guitarist Bartek Bereska with young and talented musician – Jan Mitoraj. In Summer 2014 drummer Adam Podzimski left the band and his place was taken by Marek Romanowski.

Osada Vida - current line-up:
Marek Majewski - vocal
Łukasz Lisiak - bass guitar
Janek Mitoraj - guitars

Haken announce release of Restoration EP

Following the release of Haken's critically acclaimed album 'The Mountain' last year, plus plenty of touring and even three nominations at this year's Progressive Music Awards, the London-based progressive metallers are extremely pleased to announce the release of the digital-only 'Restoration' EP in the US on the 11th of November 2014.

'Restoration' is comprised of three reworked and updated songs which originally appeared on their 2007/08 self-produced demo, and the release has been mixed & mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios.

Vocalist Ross Jennings explains: 'Redoing a few of our favourite tracks from the demo is something we've talked about doing for ages and the fans have been asking for it constantly. We were also excited about working creatively with our new bassist Conner Green, so this seemed like the perfect way to welcome him aboard.'

Guitarist Charlie Griffiths continues: 'merely re-recording the demo songs would have felt musically redundant and dishonest, since three of us didn't play on the original recordings. The band's sound has evolved considerably in the last few years so we used the demo tracks as a starting point and gave ourselves free reign to reimagine them and make them relevant to who we are today. These are now the definitive versions and we couldn't be happier with how they turned out'.

The track list and playing times are as follows:

1. Darkest Light (6:44)
2. Earthlings (7:52)
3. Crystallised (19:23)

The final track is a no holds barred epic including guest 'cameo' appearances by Pete Rinaldi (Headspace) and Mike Portnoy (Transatlantic / Flying Colors).

The band also recently announced a run of UK & Irish dates with label-mates Leprous & Maschine for later this year. This will be the band's biggest run of dates in their own country yet and they can be found below:

The band was formed in 2001 by Piotr Brzychcy and Krzysztof Walczyk. In 2006 Kruk recorded the album "Memories" with Grzegorz Kupczyk (Ceti's & ex-Turbo's vocalist). The album was a tribute to the aforementioned bands. In the next years, Kruk followed their own path and managed to forge their own sound. Their proper debut album entitled "Before He'll Kill You", released in 2009, was well received both by media and by music fans. The year 2011 marked the release of their second studio album. Doogie White (ex.Rainbow, Yngwie Malmsteen, Tank)  made guest appearance on "It Will Not Come Back". The album was enthusiastically reviewed both in Poland and overseas. Kruk supported such legends of rock as Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake, Graham Bonnet, ex-singer from Rainbow, and Michael Schenker Group. In 2012 Kruk released the album "Be3". The band plan to release their new studio album "Before" on June, 9th in Europe and July, 8th in North America.

All female brazilian metal band Girlie Hell launches EP on vinyl and discuss about violence and oppression against women

Think about a highly flammable all female brazilian hard rock/metal band! This is Girlie Hell.

Weaker sex? Bullas, Carol, Fernanda and Júlia are willing to show you not. Do you want to face them?

These girls are not messing around. They are for seven years on the road and have played on the most important brazilian festivals, including shows with bands like Bad Religion, Kyuss Lives, Sepultura and Crucified Barbara, with whom they completed a small tour in Brazil. "Get Hard", the debut album, was produced by Gustavo Vazques (Black Drawning Chalks, Uganga) and was released in 2007 by Monstro Discos. The album was very well received by several Brazilian journalists: "Consistent and convincing hard rock", declared back then Silvio Essinger from Jornal O Globo, one of the most important Brazilian daily newspapers.

After the release of several music videos and some digital singles, the Girlie Hell ladies now announces the release of "Hit And Run".

The EP will be launched on vinyl and will bring only two tracks: "Gunpowder" on the A Side and "Till The End" on the B Side.

"Hit And Run" was recorded at Mr. Som Studio in Sao Paulo and produced by the Latin Grammy winners Marcello Pompeu and Heros Trench. The mastering was done at the West WestSide Music in the United States by the death metal specialist Alan Douches (Cannibal Corpse, Death, Deicide, Krisiun, Mastodon).

Musically, "Hit And Run" brings a heavier and more intense Girlie Hell, with a very sharp speech.

"Hit And Run is, until now, Girlie Hell's better prepared work", says the drummer Carol Pasquali. "Everything is loaded with meanings and feelings. We're talking about overcoming difficulties, breaking barriers and unravel problems that tries to prevent us from following our path. This was also illustrated on the cover art signed by Wildner Lima which has two stages: the first that alludes to the violence suffered by women and the difficulties of the feminine universe, showing the anguish and the marks of the struggle for what is believed, and the side of awareness that the fight is worth".

Still according to Carol, the tittle "Hit And Run" is a direct reference to one of the band's main influence. Musically and ideologically.

"The album takes the same name of the Girlschool song, which is one of our main references in the world of female rock. And this connection is no accident. Times have changed and so the difficulties, but they still exist. And as the British rockers, we want to arose attention to this force and this claw that we need to have daily and say that we are here to face the problems and support women of our generation."

Did you get the message? So be prepared because "Hit And Run" will hit the stores in October in Brazil by Monstro Discos. European, US and Asian releases are still being planned.
Meanwhile, check out "Gunpowder" music video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-C4z-doGAQs

Paul Di’Anno – preview of the “The Beast Arises” DVD

The Beast is back! The original voice of Iron Maiden, and the front man of such bands as Killers, Battlezone and Gogmagog, arises to bring his fans a show of sheer heavy metal brutality! Paul Di'Anno returned to Poland in April to play a string of live shows. One of the shows -  at Lizard Club in Kraków on April, 9th - was recorded for the purposes of a live DVD release "The Beast Arises".

You can now see a short preview of the DVD on Metal Mind Productions' YouTube channel. Track "Charlotte the Harlot" is available at THIS location.
