2006-2016. Ten years after the first Italian release, Magni Animi Viri are back with Heroes Temporis World Edition, the English version of their rock opera featuring two of the main figures in the international hard rock landscape: Russell Allen and Amanda Somerville. With them, in the part of the narrator, Clive Riche. And this release also has a charitable aim: all the profits from the sales will be donated for the creation of a ward specifically dedicated to autistic children, in a clinic in Italy.

In 2006 Giancarlo Trotta e Luca Contegiacomo, both musicians with rock and classical backgrounds from the southern Italian city of Salerno, merged several musical universe, thus giving birth to Heroes Temporis, an encounter between heavy metal and classical music, featuring vocals from the operatic world and from rock with a background of a hundred-piece symphonic orchestra, the Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra and a group of world-renowned talents such as drummer John Macaluso, the sadly missed bass player Randy Coven and guitarist Marco Sfogli, who recently replaced none less than Franco Mussida in the legendary band PFM.

Year after year, Heroes Temporis received many positive feedbacks from the critics, in Italy and abroad, so much that its authors decided to re-release it with English vocals, care of two international stars. That's what is new in Heroes Temporis World Edition: alongside the original musicians, we can listen to the voices of Russell Allen and Amanda Somerville. Russell Allen is the vocalist of Symphony X, one of the foremost progressive metal bands, but also of Adrenaline Mob, Star One, Allen-Lande and Level 10. Amanda Somerville gained worldwide notoriety for having recorded and toured with bands such as After Forever, Edguy, Kamelot, Epica, Avantasia and many more. With them, the narrator is Clive Riche, a multi-skilled English actor, singer and voiceover artist.

Heroes Temporis World Edition is a concept album about a man's path towards knowledge and purification through the awareness of reality as illusory. This opera by Magni Animi Viri is powerful and majestic thanks to its merge between classical music and rock, a heavy-sounding band and a symphonic orchestra, between prog, metal and majestic melodies. The record can be purchased in over 15,000 music stores all over the world thanks to the distribution care of CdBaby and Alliance Entertainment. All the profit for the sales will be devolved to Heroes Temporis for Autistic Children ONLUS (NPO) – that Magni Animi Viri have always been supporting - to finance the opening of a "game-and-diagnosis" ward in the MerClin clinic in Campagna, province of Salerno. Such ward, dedicated to children, will also be integrated by a clown-therapy team. It is also possible to donate to the charity through the website http://heroestemporis.org

HEADSPACE launch video for 'The Science Within Us'; new album 'All That You Fear Is Gone' out now!

Headspace's new album 'All That You Fear Is Gone' is out now worldwide, and they have also launched a video for the epic track 'The Science Within Us'. The band, featuring Damian Wilson (Threshold), Adam Wakeman (Ozzy Osbourne, Snakecharmer), Pete Rinaldi (Hot Leg, Dido, One Eskimo), Lee Pomeroy (It Bites, Steve Hackett), and new drummer Adam Falkner (Babyshambes, Dido, One Eskimo), recently filmed the clip with Crystal Spotlight, and you can watch it here:

Pete Rinaldi from the band had this to say about the track:
"When it came time to choose a track to make a video for, we felt that the world might not be ready for a 14 minute video for 'The Science Within Us'. Then on reflection we realised we were totally wrong and edited the track down to 5 minutes. But for the more aurally inspired, the rest of the music can be found on All That You Fear Is Gone."

The album is available for purchase at these locations:

InsideOut US Shop:

iTunes:

Amazon:

Guitarist Pete Rinaldi commented on the record: "This album picks up where I Am Anonymous finishes. The process of each of us adding their creativity to the tracks has made this something we are really proud of. All That You Fear Is Gone features the debut of my good friend Adam Falkner on drums who has done a fantastic job making his mark on this record, we are all looking forward to bringing it to live audiences."

You can check out the album's first single 'Your Life Will Change' here:

The full track-listing for the album is as follows:
1.     Road to Supremacy
2.     Your Life Will Change
3.     Polluted Alcohol
4.     Kill You With Kindness
5.     The Element
6.     The Science Within Us
7.     Semaphore
8.     The Death Bell
9.     The Day You Return
10.  All That You Fear Is Gone
11.  Borders and Days
12.  Secular Souls

Damian Wilson adds:
"The conforming individual represented in the first album that breaks away, is reflected in All That You Fear Is Gone. Free thinking, fighting against natural grouping, what appears as destructive rebellion is in fact evolution. Written to make the listener think, whilst capturing the ear with complexity and simplicity combined.

Embarking on the second Headspace album I personally had a clear vision, but by the time each band member had thrown in their piece, I thought we had produced an album that was unlistenable to.  As it progressed, the rough edges and corners seemed to settle like a good lasagne. Everyone has their own tastes, but I know this is a bloody good lasagne."

'All That You Fear Is Gone' is the follow-up to 2012's debut album 'I Am Anonymous', once again produced by the band and mixed by Jens Bogren. Expect more information, including tour dates, in the coming months.

Formed in 2004, Consider the Source features Gabriel Marin on fretless double-neck guitar, bassist John Ferrara, and drummer/percussionist Jeff Mann. Called "the guiding light for his generation of six-stringers", Marin channels the mystical fury of McLaughlin and Coltrane into wailing melodies, kaleidoscopic soundscapes and boneshaking riffs. With a background in classical musics both European and Indian, and an instinct for avant-jazz and destructive metal, Marin's hypnotic fusion of styles is ever unpredictable. Ferrara's propulsive, percussive attack, equally suited to simple grooves and impossible chords, can ground the music or launch it into space. His madcap gumbo of slap bass, Indian rhythms, earthy minimalism and complex tapping constantly pushes into strange new worlds, whilst still dropping thick booty-clap beats. Underneath them lies Mann's rolling thunder; dense rhythmic architecture built from pure swagger and bounce. Half double-bass prog-metal, half crackle-pop Buddy Rich swing, with African and Balkan swirls, Mann's muscular, freewheeling polyrhythms are the engine fuel for CTS's multiversal mischief. Even when not improvising, The trio's music is always a conversation, a roiling stew of dynamic interplay. Each member of Consider the Source
alternately leads and follows, spars and assists; in any single song, alliances are made and broken, bargains struck and divorces finalized.

Touring from coast to coast, as well as Europe and the Middle East, has not only earned the band thousands of fans, but has allowed them to perform with a wide variety of well-known artists, including Victor Wooten, Wayne Krantz, King Crimson Projekt, Kris Myers (Umphrey's McGee), Wyclef Jean, Andy Statman, Matt Darriau (Paradox Trio), Oteil Burbridge, Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey, Dumpstaphunk, Keller Williams, George Porter Jr., Jeff Sipe, Panzerballet (Germany), Eatliz (Israel), Freak Kitchen (Sweden), Morglbl (France) and many others. They have performed at numerous festivals and events including Gathering of the Vibes (Connecticut), Peach Fest (Pennsylvania), Summercamp (Illinois), Catskill Chill (New York), Aura Music & Arts Festival (Florida), Jazz Fest (New Orleans), Burning Man (Nevada), Head For The Hills Festival & SXSW (Texas), Rootwire (Ohio) and the The WerkOut (Ohio), to name a handful.

A new album for Cirrha Niva

On 'Out Of The Freakshow,' Cirrha Niva welcomes some very talented guest musicians. Drummer and interim bandmemberNathanael Taekema (Thomas Zwijsen) did the band a huge favour by creating and playing all drumtracks on the album. Psychotic Waltz frontman Devon Graves adds depth to 'Just Another Legacy' with his poignant vocals and flute, and singerLisette van den Berg (Scarlet Stories) takes 'Afraid To Bleed' to a breathtaking climax. Under supervision of Joost van den Broek(ex-After Forever), keyboardist Erik van Ittersum (Theater Equation) adds spheric elements to the album using piano, Hammond organ, strings and soundscapes. And finally, the mysterious Mr. Gold, speaks as The Ringmaster in the opening song 'I Guess'.

Visualy, Cirrha Niva is surrounded by a team of creative and devoted freaks! The stunning artwork is made by Blacklake Design (Damien Wilson, Maiden United) and the band pictures are shot by Tim Tronckoe Photography. The band outfits are exclusivly created by Ingeborg Steenhorst from I Style Stars (Lacuna Coil, Epica, Karmaflow).

Legrand: "Like the saying goes: 'out of the furnace, into the fire'. After escaping your worst nightmare you find yourself in one that's even worse. That's what 'Out Of The Freakshow,' is all about: getting out of whatever you want to get out of, but beware of the alternative. For we all have a freak inside of us that's waiting for the right opportunity to get out, maybe the dirty lies of the 'Silver Tongues', or the seconds, minutes and hours that 'Time' hits. Ah, you don't have a freak hiding in the shadows? You only do good, and jealousy and envy are just words you know by looking at things 'From Ego's point of view? Well my friend, you are 'Just Another Legacy' waiting to happen and with your dying breath you will wish you'd have gotten 'Out Of The Freakshow,'."

After three years of composing, we have recorded our first album: Unscrupulousness. Alessandro Ragazzo - Venice

The dreamed journey

"Venice"

The new EP by Alessandro Ragazzo

Available in all digital stores from February 29th
The emerging singer-songwriter recounts alternating states of mind through an imaginary journey set amongst the shadows of Venice.

The EP "Venice", the record of the day on the notable music portal rocket.it, is the solo project of Alessandro Ragazzo on the wave of the acoustic/alternative pop scene. It tells, in 3 tracks, of "the mental journey set in Venice, where nothing is real", as defined by the author.

The first track of the EP, The Man With The Hat, apparently a love song, is the start of a journey, a dream where nothing will be true. A mysterious song, sad, but at the same time full of hope and a sense of freedom.
The second, You, starts with a guitar arpeggio, complemented by a drum-machine rhythm. The track tells the story of a soul conditioned by sentiments, where the mis-taken moment and the words not said end up ruining everything.
The third and last track, Epilogue, represents the end of the journey with a total re-alization, through an electronic base and a stream of words that come directly from deep inside the author's soul. The lyrics speak about indifference, about pain, and an awareness of how often it is difficult to understand and to be understood.
Alessandro Ragazzo was recently a guest of Indiemood Sesssion, a series of online videos filmed on old boats along the Venice canals, in which various pop artists participated of the caliber of An Harbor, Indie talents such as Artemoltobuffa, reggae group Mellow Mood and the best emerging artists on the music scene, present on Rockol.

In November 2015 he was host of the series of popular video Balcony Tv – Schio.

Alessandro Ragazzo (1994) started studying music at the age of 13 years. He studied modern music with Daniele Gottardo, Alberto Milani, Marco Andreoni, Davide Baldo and Davide Antonio Pio.
In 2011 he entered the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory of Classical Music in Venice under the guidance of the teacher Florindo Baldissera.
There are numerous examples of his experience in various projects. He has per-formed in more than 200 live performances with original musical projects and par-ticipated in over 4 regional contests for bands with excellent results.
With the Echoes (progressive group already disbanded) he opened for Pino Scotto at Ferric 2011 in front of 4000 people. Again in 2011, he won the Vicenza Rock Contest, earning second place at Suonica 2011, organised by New Age. He entered in contact with the singer of Dream Theater, joined in a mini tour with the Sardinian band Solid Vision, participated in the final casting if Italia's Got Talent, appeared on important stages such as Marghera Estate Village, Vapore, eXProg, Festa delle Matricole, New Age Club, Home Festival, Gran Teatro Geox and others.
In October 2013, he began his solo project on the wave of the pop acous-tic/alternative scene with the release of the first single "The Man With The Hat". The track will be the opener for the EP "Venice", already becoming the record of the day on rockit.it.
In 2014 he met the singer song-writer Bruno Sponchia, who he started collaborating with between Milan and Vignovo (Studio 2), giving life to the band Industria Oniricia, that in October 2004 won the prestigious Veneto Rock Contest. In that occasion Alessandro was award the second prize of Best Guitarist in the competition.
In December of the same year, he opened for Marky Ramone, drummer for the Ramones, at a popular festival in Vicenza. Following this, Alessandro became gui-tarist in the band "La Febbre Del Venerdì 13", who he plays with at the opening of "Pan Del Diabolo" and in other important events.
He is currently working on the recording of his second EP in New York in Flux Stu-dios, with the artistic production of Alessandro Favero.

Electronic Music Ensemble Genre Peak To Release New Album Feat. Collaborations with Steve Jansen, Mick Karn, & Richard Barbieri of Japan, Matt Malley of Counting Crows and Jon Hassell

"Well done team Genre Peak!" - Jon Hassell

London, UK - Genre Peak is Martin Birke (songwriter, electronic-percussionist,vocalist and co-producer) with variety of collaborations from players and singers from all over the world. The new album "Your Sleekest Engine" features collaborations with Steve Jansen (Japan/David Sylvian), Jon Hassell (Brian Eno/Peter Gabriel), Richard Barbieri (Japan/Porcupine Tree), Matt Malley (Counting Crows) with vocals by Martin, Lesley Braden (Fast Arrow) and Charlie Woodward (Falco/Strinx) Manal Deeb (Palestinian artist) additional bass tracks from the late great Mick Karn (Japan/Dalis Car/David Torn). Co-produced by Christopher Scott Cooper and Martin Birke for In Code Music (Publishing). The album will be released on Gonzo Multimedia UK on March 4, 2016.

Says Martin, "The idea of 'Your Sleekest Engine' is what I consider things, ideas, concepts that provide the straightest line between point A to B. A syringe, a gun, a synapse, lightning, morphine, a car, plane, I consider these things 'sleek engines'. I want the music to be designed for elegance but still retain a 'pop' sensibility. 'Your Sleekest Engine' is 3 years of hard work, networking and intense collaboration with some of my idols in music, it's a strong and very dynamic album. I'm quite proud of this cause collaboration is best way to work for me.

"After the ambient album '9 Microspheres' I wanted to get back to where I could collaborate with singers and players. I approached Steve Jansen to remix a track off 'Preternatural' I did with the late Mick Karn, Steve agreed but did much more than a remix, he composed a whole new original song which blew me away. I had Lesley Braden of the Seattle band Fast Arrow write sing over it and I think it's dark and glorious much like most the songs I write. I contacted Jon Hassell who has been a huge influence and is the reason I'm an electronic-percussionist, and we came up with the beautiful instrumental 'Metanoia', I then started writing more songs with singer Charlie Woodward who sounds a bit like Jon Anderson of Yes to me (another favorite band) and we just clicked - thanks to Edo Castro (Pat Metheny Band) for introducing us."

Last summer Martin recorded a track with Palestinian-American multi media artist Manal Deeb for the Arabesque song "Fix Me Deeper"; a track based on his sympathy for the suffering of the Palestinian people who he finds quite beautiful, brave and artistic. Manal did the spoken Arabic words and Martin sang the lead. He also sang the lead on "Denizen Darklight" which is about crime in America.

Rob Ayling of Gonzo Multimedia introduced Martin to Matt Malley of the Counting Crows and he delivered some great bass on "God Fearing Men" and "American Civil Rage". Award winning poet Michael Spring spoke his poem "First Born of the New Millennium" Martin wrote the music for that one, and Richard Barbieri did an amazing remix of "Fix Me Deeper" both versions were released as a single last Fall and received great reviews.

Says Martin, "I modeled Genre Peak after Alan Wilder's Recoil and Massive Attack as we as well collaborate with many different artists, do instrumentals and Filmscore, I find this the most exciting way to work, it's always different and working with artists you grew up listening to is quite rewarding for me. I like to call Genre Peak's music 'electronica-organica' as I use electronics with a warm live cinematic sound."

Martin Birke's original compositions began getting nationally published in 1990. His history as a drummer, keyboardist, programmer, songwriter and vocalist is in a current variety of US & European releases. Starting as a drummer in the late 70s, Martin now specializes as an electronic percussionist, composer and performer. While with the Frank Mark Arts label in Germany during the mid-to-late-90s, Martin was recording and touring in the bands Casualty Park, Sandbox Trio and studio project Birke/Leykam/Panasenko.

Martin Birke is well known for scoring original music for The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, recording and touring internationally with Sandbox Trio, Casualty Park, Genre Peak and with Percy Howard (Meridiem,Bill Laswell) in the duo Hardboiled Wonderland. Genre Peak has released 2 full-length albums "Ends of the Earth" (2006 in-code Music) and "Preternatural" (2008 in-code Music). Starting in 2006 as a trio with Martin Birke on vocals and electronics, Daniel Panasenko on Chapman Stick and Stephen Sullivan on guitar-synths and vocals. The trio performed as an electronic rock band around Northern California cities until the departure of Panasenko in late 2006.

In 2008 Birke returned to the studio with co-producer/engineer/guitarist Christopher Scott Cooper and decided in recruiting a unique cast of vocalists and musicians consisting of Canadian singer Tara C. Taylor, Japan/Dalis Car bassist Mick Karn, bassist Gustaf Fjelstrom, French rock & electronic composer/remixer Tristan X (Kiss & Fly) and Spanish electronic composer/remixer Alex Brujas. The end result was Genre Peak's most vital album to date "Preternatural". The songs featured heavier electronics, darker moods, and percussion effects offset with Karn and Fjelstrom's fretless bass lines, Taylor's lilting vocals and Cooper's high quality production making an album that was very well received by music media and fans around the world. And now "Your Sleekest Engine" once again showcases Martin's extraordinary compositional and performing skills!

Here's what the press have said about Genre Peak!

"Genre Peak realized a quite diversified piece of music, mixing different vocal, ambient and rhythm elements. There also is a real will and attention to distill great sound treatments. This is modern music covering a wide range of influences." - SIDE-LINE Magazine

"People with eclectic tastes might really like this album. The synthesizers are great and so is the percussion and singers. This is something to listen to if you want to hear something very different than what is on MTV or the radio." - The Celebrity

"Genre Peak and its cinematic imagery impeccably reflects the post-postmodern sound of now - detached, cool, and wired." - West Coast Performer

Martin recently scored music for the upcoming film "Isabela" by Dell Cullum out this summer/fall as well some music for the TV special "Imagination Nature: Galápagos". Genre Peak will play live around the west cost over the summer and is headlining at SHINE in Sacramento on March 26th. The new live ensemble features singers Charlie Woodward and Tara C. Taylor, Stephen Sullivan on guitar-synths, Paul Relvas on basses, and Martin on electronic-percussion. The band is performing songs from "Preternatural" and "Your Sleekest Engine" and sound great! It's really hard to do Genre Peak live due to the complexities of the original recordings but this time the band is nailing it!

Lastly, Martin has this to impart to his listeners, "Explore new music, commercial radio plays only 2% of all the music released in any year, I spent my youth studying all kinds of known and unknown bands, authors and artists constantly expanding my range of interest. Learning all I could about different styles of art, music and poetry and film. There's so much new music out there and with the internet it's much easier to find. Also I encourage my listeners to be open minded and know sometimes things that don't immediately appeal just might once you understand it and take time to appreciate it."

Subterranean Masquerade begin work on new album

They are excited to let you guys know that in a few days they enter the studio to record theier 3rd and new full length album. They don't want to reveal the title just yet but they can say that this album is taking everything you enjoy from Subterranean Masquerade up a notch. It's heavy, complex, rich and full with so much information, it will be a shame to even try to categorize it.

"After a year of the tunes playing in my head, a challenging journey to India, months of band rehearsals and lots of editing and rearranging, this is finally happening and I couldn't be more thrilled with the outcome", Says guitarist and songwriter Tomer Pink.  "This album is so schizophrenic sometimes I wonder if the tunes are playing with me or the other way around :-)"

"Writing and arranging this new album was a completely different experience than the one I had with 'The Great Bazaar'", says keyboardist Shai Yallin. "With the Bazaar, we had written the album not as a band but rather as individual players; I actually only met Tomer and the guys after the album was recorded, for a PR photography session we held after Kjetil's vocal sessions. This time around, we're a real band. My parts have evolved during rehearsals and practice sessions. Some parts were written for me by other players, while I wrote more string parts than in the previous album and even adding some brass and accordion parts. Add to that Tomer's insistence that we do not repeat ourselves and you get some really interesting combinations of timbres and instruments."

We will keep you updated and post photos from the studio from time to time. We are also working on a European tour prior our show at the ProgPower festival in September - so stay tuned for live dates as well.

Cheers

"Sunrise To Sundown" is also available as digital single via Spotify here:

SPIRITUAL BEGGARS guitarist and main composer Michael Amott checked in to comment about "Diamond Under Pressure" as follows:
"Diamond Under Pressure" is a song that our keyboard player Per Wiberg brought in as an awesome instrumental and I proceeded to write a lyric and vocal arrangement for it, I was inspired by a late night, alcohol fuelled conversation I'd had with our producer Staffan Karlsson for this one. Always a great time to be collaborate on music with Per and I think this is one of my favourites off the new album, despite all its obvious "Purple-esque" overtones it's still retains a very typical Spiritual Beggars feel. Looking forward to playing this one live on tour this spring!"

Kristoffer Gildenlöw To Present His New Album “The Rain” Live

Melodic Revolution Records are thrilled to announce the release of the
upcoming album "The Rain" by Kristoffer Gildenlöw

Multi-instrumentalist singer songwriter, Kristoffer Gildenlöw, to
present his 2nd solo album, "The Rain", Live on March 25, 2016 at
Cultuurpodium Boerderij, Zoetermeer, Netherlands. Kristoffer will be
joined on stage by his stellar band mates (¹).

Worldwide release of "The Rain" will be available in both CD and
Digital formats in April / 2016.

Gildenlöw's eleven year career as bass player in the progressive rock
band Pain of Salvation set the wheels in motion for his solo career,
which took flight with release of his debut album "RUST" (2013),
paving way for "The Rain". In addition to vocals, Gildenlöw performs a
wide range of instruments and uses carefully selected guest musicians
- adding strings, accordion and church organ - to make this album come
to life.

About "The Rain":
The deep tones of how the mind fights against itself resonate
throughout this powerful and poignant work by Kristoffer Gildenlöw. A
brilliant effort after his highly acclaimed first solo release: Rust
(2013); a thematic album which delved into the realities of aging and
one's perspectives on past, future and ultimately reconciliation with
life choices. Again, Gildenlöw has chosen a heavy subject for the
theme of "The Rain"; which is a concept album that examines the life
of a man in later stages of dementia who struggles with his own
reality, perceived through the metaphor of rain and clouds.

The gentleness of the piano passages oppose the angst and turmoil
which lie beneath. The gentle pace at which the album progresses is
reflective of the destructive force of the disease upon the man, and
you find yourself at the tipping point with the track, 'Breath In,
Breath Out'. It is through this lyrically beautiful song that the
realization of the end becomes apparent; leaving the listener grasping
for the beauty captured in the mind's eye.

The Live Band: (¹) (Live at Album Presentation)

Paul Coenradie (Aniday, Valentine), Dec Burke (Frost*, Audioplastik),
Dirk Bruinenberg (Patrick Rondat, Elegy), David Gutierrez Rojas
(Kingfisher Sky), Anne Bakker (Blaze Bayley), Daniël Huijben (The 11th
Hour), and Rick Snel (Déva Dyne)

The debut recording of “They Go” with the album “Dago”

The album encompasses the memory of Italian immigrants in the USA and Canada and expresses the desire for freedom in the journey, without ever losing their own roots.

The name They Go comes from the epithet "Dago", also the title of their debut album, which was used in the USA and in Canada, at the beginning of the 19th century to indicate a person of Italian origin.

The band's style consists of a background sound of typical 70's rock-blues together with more modern pop and folk influences, in a kind of mix between new and traditional, from acoustic to electro.

"Dago" was produced in an old farmstead in the Tuscany countryside, Yellow Fridge, transformed into an original and exclusive recording house-studio. Created using traditional techniques, that favor analogical sound, the album was produced as in the past. The band spent 10 days in the farmhouse and each artist was recorded in different rooms, but captured live, as explained by Michele Stefanuto, the lead singer of They Go.

They Go is an Italian band born in 2015, formed by Nicola Rudella (guitar, ukulele and mandolin), Luca Carrara (drums and percussion), Adriano Sardo (base guitar) and Michele Stefanuto (vocals).
In early July 2015, the band was invited to perform at PREMIUM in Berlin during Fashion Week. at the end of the same month the acoustic track "Are you busy now" was selected as the soundtrack of the documentary "Parajumpers STORIES - episode 1: Laxnes Horse Farm", that attracted 170,000 views in just a few weeks on the web:

In September 2015 the video "Compromise", the first track on the album, taken from the performance in Berlin, boasted more than 5500 views on Facebook in a few days.

Doogie White & La Paz – new song premiere

British band Doogie White & La Paz return this April with a brand new studio album entitled "Shut Up And Rawk!". The official lyric video to "Light The Fire", the first single taken from the album, is available on Metal Mind Productions' You Tube channel in THIS location.

Almost immediately after their previous offering, "The Dark And The Light" (2013) had been released, Chic McSherry and Doogie White started writing new material. A total of 17 ideas were demo'd with 11 of them finally being crafted into songs for a new album. Recording could only be done in stages because of other commitments, but in many ways that extra time allowed the songs to develop and mature into a very powerful rock album, entitled "Shut Up And Rawk!" which is due for a worldwide release by Metal Mind Productions On April, 8th 2016.

Doogie White & La Paz – Shut Up And Rawk!

Tracklist:

1. Light The Fire
2. Heart Of Stone
3. No Place In Heaven
4. The Revenge Of El Guapo
5. A Certain Song
6. Retribution Blues
7. Daughter Of Time
8. The Prize
9. Faith Hope And Love
10. Throw Me To The Wolves
11. Miss Dynamite
12. Book Of Shadows

The album has now been mixed and mastered by Rolf Munkes at Empire Studios in Frankfurt, Germany.

La Paz was formed in Lanarkshire, Scotland in the summer of 1984 by Chic McSherry (guitars), Doogie White (vocals) and Alex Carmichael (bass). At the first rehearsal together they hit it off immediately on a personal level - they also liked the same music and they had the same influences and heroes (Purple, Rainbow, Journey, Gary Moore) so they started to recruit other members to try to form a band and go do some gigs. Andy Mason (keyboards) joined the trio and he fitted in from the start, even though he was still at school when he joined. Drummers were always a problem and, over the life of the band, La Paz went through almost as many as Spinal Tap. Unquestionably the loudest and the most accomplished was/is their current drummer, Paul McManus.
They gigged regularly and played some prestigious venues including the world-famous Marquee Club in London as well as at some festivals in Milton Keynes. They were featured regularly in music magazines of the day, particularly Kerrang! (Derek Oliver becoming a big fan of the band) and attracted interest from a number of UK and US record companies, finally agreeing terms with one of them for a three album deal.
But it was not to be - for reasons which were never explained by the record label the deal fell through at the very last minute. Sadly the band didn't survive for very long after that. They did their last gig on 15th October 1988 and then Doogie moved to London to join Midnite Blue, Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, Cornerstone, Yngwie Malmsteen and now Michael Schenker.
And then legendary DJ Tom Russell of 96.3 Rock Radio called Doogie and asked him if he would do some acoustic numbers at The Garage in Glasgow for Rock Radio's Birthday Bash in January 2008. Doogie agreed and asked Chic to play guitar.
It was a big ask after 20 years: almost 1000 people, Doogie singing alone and Chic with one flamenco guitar! "We had such a blast though and it woke up so many great memories in both of us that we decided to give it a go with the full band for my 50th birthday" said Chic. And so the full band started to rehearse and it was clear that they could still play a bit. The band just gelled: just like old times and the gigs were a terrific success. And so the idea of re-recording some of the favourites from the set that had never had a proper production job was conceived. The final result can be heard on the album "Granite" released in February 2012 on Metal Mind Productions.
The band's second album, "The Dark and The Light" was also released on Metal Mind Productions on 27th May 2013 to critical acclaim, with Classic Rock and Powerplay magazines both giving positive and strong reviews and the track "Don't Drink With The Devil2 becoming the Classic Rock Magazine's Number 1 Track of The week in their reader's poll.

Live appearances are difficult due to Doogie White's touring schedule with Michael Schenker and Paul McManus' also being involved with GUN, but the band made a rare appearance as the headline act on the opening night of the 2014 Hard Rock Hell Festival on March 20th. The show was "packed" and well received.

Knifeworld reveal Bottled Out of Eden artwork & teaser; announce London album launch

London-based psychedelic octet Knifeworld recently announced that their third studio album 'Bottled Out Of Eden', will be released on InsideOut Music on the April 22nd, 2016. You can now view the stunning artwork for the album above, as well as a new teaser trailer for the record here:

Kavus Torabi had this to say:
"The beautiful artwork has been executed, once again by Steve Mitchell at 57 design. He's been responsible for all of our graphics since the beginning and, for me, his work really defines the look ofKnifeworld.

The teaser is from the recording of the album in the studio Midi-Pyrenees with Bob Drake. It's an enormous converted barn in the South of France with the most extraordinary acoustic spaces to record in. Hundreds of albums have been made there since the 90's and it has a big connection with Henry Cow and many related projects, so it was such a pleasure to finally work there ourselves."

The band have also announced a special album launch show at London's Bush Hall on Thursday, May 12th, which will feature their biggest production yet plus a lot of surprises from the Knifeworld back catalogue. Tickets on sale 10am UK time Wednesday, Feb 17th, here: http://www.seetickets.com/event/knifeworld/bush-hall/956267

The full track-listing for the album is as follows:

1.     High/Aflame
2.     The Germ Inside
3.     I Am Lost
4.     The Deathless
5.     Foul Temple
6.     Vision Of The Bent Path
7.     I Must Set Fire To Your Portrait
8.     Lowered Into Necromancy
9.     A Dream About A Dream
10.  Secret Words
11.  Feel The Sorcery

The follow-up to 2014's 'The Unravelling', described by The Guardian as "an ingenious, joyful exercise in exploratory zeal", BOOE is a subtler but more immediate record than any other Knifeworld release. At times beautiful and uplifting & at others melancholic, haunting and otherworldly, the album remains surprisingly accessible and frontman Kavus Torabi had this to say:

"After The Unravelling, which took over a year to complete, we deliberately wanted to change the variables. To alter the approach in order to make something different. I love The Unravelling but it was a very difficult record to make. Rather than spending so long in the studio, constructing, arranging, recording, re-recording and adding layers of additional instruments and noises, this time round we wanted something rawer, more live sounding."

Torabi continues:
"Once we had the title, 'Bottled Out Of Eden', the songs came very quickly. For me, the title has three possible interpretations and all the songs fall under at least one of them. I always like to have a definite theme, it allows you to map out the territory making it far easier to identify which songs that will or won't fit with the overarching idea giving the record a far greater cohesion."

'Bottled Out Of Eden' fuses elements of English psychedelic pop, folk and art rock, with NY minimalist-inspired horn arrangements and typically unconventional song structures that take full advantage of the bands 8-piece line-up. The tail end of last year saw that full band out on tour in the UK with their friends in Vennart where they road-tested several songs from the album. Kavus continues:

"One aspect of Bottled Out Of Eden is the idea of a self-made Heaven or a self-imposed Hell, that agony or ecstasy are often a choice. I look back on the twenty five years of making the kind of music I do, particularly the last six with Knifeworld and just feel so fortunate for the friendships, experiences and absolute joy it has brought. I wanted the album to be as much about that, a celebration of this all too fleeting life, as it is a reflection on death and its impact on everyone that is left behind."

The full line-up of Knifeworld is as follows:

Kavus Torabi
Melanie Woods
Emmett Elvin
Chloe Herington
Charlie Cawood
Oliver Sellwood
Ben Woollacott
Josh Perl

Look out for more information on 'Bottled Out Of Eden' & tour dates in the coming months!
