Prog Metal Band Odin's Court Release Deathanity (

Progressive Metal for fans of Pink Floyd, Dream Theater, Devin Townsend, Porcupine Tree, Iron Maiden, King's X, Metallica, HIM, and Journey, Enchant, Queen

Baltimore, MD - USA based progressive rock and metal band Odin's Court's announced the re-release of their 2008 album Deathanity (R3) for March, 1 2016. Deathanity (R3) is a "reboot" of the original ProgRock Records album, consisting of a remix (original recording), new recordings (e.g., vocals), and a re-master.

Band leader Matt Brookins commented on the decision to revisit Deathanity: "This was an important album to the band – we worked hard independently, and then shopped it to labels. It was picked up by ProgRock Records (2008), and to date remains our best selling and most popular release. While we were, and still are, proud of what we did, there are some factors that made us want to revisit and improve the quality of the album…mainly, the addition of Dimetrius LaFavors (lead vocals), but also my improvements as an engineer and producer. Additionally, the concept of the album is becoming increasingly important in today's world, so hopefully we will reach even more ears with this re-release. Stylistically, this album is heavy, progressive, and artsy."

Deathanity was well received when originally released:

"There's wonderful variety from section to section, the instrumentation and the songwriting are clearly the album's strengths." – Sea of Tranquility

"The sound of the group is quite personal with a lot of quality, and fantastic production for their music, very pleasant to the ear, nothing strident, with guitars and smooth refining where all instruments are in a place where you can distinguish each of them with complete ease." – Hall of Metal

"Matt Brookins has succeeded in serving a fantastic album to the inclined listener. From the first minute until the last there is insanely much to discover, and the protagonists are true masters of their instruments." – Rock Times

Check out the first single "Manifest Destiny" from Deathanity (R3) here: https://youtu.be/ON6atzsSDV0

The band is continuing off the momentum gained from the positive press received on their latest album Turtles All the Way Down (2015):

"Odin's Court has quietly become one of the best bands in the American Progressive Rock scene, and this album is a perfect example of why that is the case." – Hard Rock Haven

"Terrific melodic prog/metal that gets better with every listen!" – USA Progressive Music

"The band plays heavy rock inundated with catchy guitar riffs, cool keyboard passages, and excellent lead vocals…the music is so well played, upbeat and catchy as any rock/metal album I have heard in a while." - Sea of Tranquility

"The strengths are undoubtedly the singing, orchestration, and the work on the guitars. It is highly recommended listening!" – MusicInBelguim.Net

Odin's Court:
Matt Brookins – Guitarist, Keyboardist, Vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist
Rick Pierpont – Guitarist and Backing Vocalist
Dimetrius LaFavors – Vocalist
Gary Raub – Drummer, Percussionist, and Backing Vocalist
Jason Pierpont – Bassist

Pendragon News

So, here we are the end of 2015, not one of Pendragon's busiest years
but that doesn't mean bad. If fact in many ways it's good, it's given
me time to reflect and get inspiration for writing new material for a
new album, which is well under way. I've probably got about 4 or 5
great musical ideas so far which I'm pleased with, some song titles
and an album working title [still a secret at the moment!]. The
direction of the next album seems to be going in a very atmospheric
way and as usual there's a lot of emphasis on the actual song writing
and melodies.

I always felt it was a good idea to sometimes get out of people's
faces for a while and just go and live life for a bit, which in turn
keeps my passion burning for making music and playing live. I won the
King Of The Surf Camp in Sri Lanka on our recent trip with Surf South
West which I was well chuffed about. Over the last year I've seen
loads of dolphins whilst out in the water in North Devon, some only
10-15 ft away from me and a huge turtle in Sri Lanka, these things
inspire, and hopefully reflect in the music to keep it all real and
positive. [duhh..what a hippy eh?

Highlight for me in 2015 was playing Loreley and Ramblin' Man with
Vincent in the drum seat, I predict great things with V-man in the
band, there was one of the best vibes EVER in the band whilst doing
these shows. At Loreley it was great to catch up again with Andy
Latimer from Camel, who were on fire, as were the Steve Rothery band,
Fish and Steve Hackett. Maybe the best Loreley yet?

Ramblin Man was also fantastic........we were so lucky it didn't rain
on the day we played [it pissed down on the Friday and Sunday]. The
audience reaction was amazing and I think we converted quite a few
people towards the ways of the dragon!

We're also getting to think set lists, backing singers etc for the
Masquerade Overture 20th Anniversary. Tiggy can only make a few of the
shows [Paris, Russelheim + Boerderij] and Emma is busy with family
life now, so we've drafted in Tina from Magenta and Verity from
Clive's Alchemy project to fill in which is very exciting. We start
rehearsing in the new year, I can't wait to get back in the rehearsal
room with Peter and Clive and of course Vincent and the girls
now...not to mention our trusty road crew who are a truly great bunch!

So , hope you all have a great Christmas and we look forward to seeing
you on tour in 2016! Happy days...

SACHA KORN releases newest 'Feuer' CD - first video available now

"Feuer" is the newest album from the Neue Deutsche Härte musician Sacha Korn (1975, Berlin). The album comes 2 years after the release of "Funkenflug" and sees Sacha Korn back with even more rage. Musically you can expect heavy guitar riffs mixed with melancholic melodies carrying words of longing, homeland, identity and violence. A perfect soundtrack for a round in the boxing ring or a heavy workout in the gym.

The band recorded the album in Stockholm at Fascination (Jens Bogren) and Berlin.

Lyrically, the album describes the feelings Sacha Korn has gone through after seeing the Europe he knows being under threat by outside and homegrown terror. What's the correct answer to this all? "Feuer" offers you the opportunity to look for answers together with Sacha Korn. It won't be an easy quest, but it's one you'll need to undergo in order to understand the reality and your identity.

Says Sacha: "Lyrically it tackles the current identity crisis Europe is going through with a patriotic non-political correct touch to it. Patriotism has for years received a negative connotation in the European music world. But with the current immigration crisis and the recent terroristic attacks in Paris, France, being a patriot is no longer a filthy word, but something to be proud of as it stands for Western values which are more and more under threat. Being proud of the values of the real Europe is now more than ever the correct stance to take. This is not about religion, this is about our values which everyone willing to live in Europe should embrace."

Sacha Korn can easily be put in the same league as bands such as Böhse Onkelz and Rammstein who often get pulled into the focus of German national media as the bad guys that we all have to be warned of. Nonsense of course because Sacha Korn's credits for instance include guest speaker appearances at music conferences in China and consultancy work for Afro-American 80ies super star Terence Trent D'Arby. Note that Terence Trent D'Arby's brother Daren D'Arby delivered vocals on several tracks on "Feuer".

If you are not afraid of inconvenient truths (where did we hear that before), then you'll surely like what you hear on "Feuer"!

A video for the track "Feuer" has just been released and can be viewed on YouTube:

Track list "Feuer" album:

Feuer
Brennen
Sturm und Gewitter
Fauler Regen
Eiszeit 1
Du
Identität
Still
Wildes Tier

The album is available on CD and as download via Bandcamp (including 2 tracks for immediate download).

Ex-Orhpaned Land guitarist Yossi Sassi taking part in Soul Enema "Aral Sea" trilogy

Soul Enema published a video preview featuring Yossi Sassi (Orphaned Land, solo) and his signature Bouzoukitara, taking part in recordings for "Aral Sea, II: Dustbin Of History" - a secondsegment of a trilogy, focused on one of the biggest environmental disasters in the history of mankind - the drying of Aral Sea. The trilogy is a part of upcoming album "Of Clans And Clones And Clowns", featuring a range of contributing guest artists, such as Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon, Star One). Yossi Sassi is the inventor of the Bouzoukitara - a unique instrument that combines a traditional acoustic Bouzouki with an electric solid-body guitar, providing a firm Middle-Eastern touch, best known as essential part of Oriental Metal pioneers - Orphaned Land.

Doogie White & La Paz – new album scheduled for April 2016!

British band Doogie White & La Paz return with a brand new studio album entitled "Shut Up And Rawk!". Almost immediately after their previous offering, "The Dark And The Light" (2013) had been released, Chic McSherry and Doogie White started writing new material. A total of 17 ideas were demo'd with 11 of them finally being crafted into songs for a new album. Recording could only be done in stages because of other commitments, but in many ways that extra time allowed the songs to develop and mature into a very powerful rock album, entitled "Shut Up And Rawk!" which is due for a worldwide release by Metal Mind Productions on April, 8th 2016.

Chic McSherry, the band's guitarist comments: "The great thing about being in La Paz is that we have been together now for over 30 years and we all know each other extremely well. That helps a lot when writing new songs: we just know what to do. This record was a long time in the making though, mainly due to Doogie and Paul's touring schedule. The initial demo tracks were actually finished by me in 2013, literally within weeks of the release of 'The Dark And The Light'. It was the same process we always use: I would write what I call a 'framework' using a drum machine and the basic guitar parts, send it to Doogie and he would say 'yeah, I can work with that' or 'no, doesn't work for me'. We started with 17 of these ideas and reduced them to 11 workable songs. 'Shut up and Rawk' took a while but it was worth it. Now we can't wait to get it released!"

The album has now been mixed and mastered by Rolf Munkes at Empire Studios in Frankfurt, Germany. Full details to follow soon.

La Paz was formed in Lanarkshire, Scotland in the summer of 1984 by Chic McSherry (guitars), Doogie White (vocals) and Alex Carmichael (bass). At the first rehearsal together they hit it off immediately on a personal level - they also liked the same music and they had the same influences and heroes (Purple, Rainbow, Journey, Gary Moore) so they started to recruit other members to try to form a band and go do some gigs. Andy Mason (keyboards) joined the trio and he fitted in from the start, even though he was still at school when he joined. Drummers were always a problem and, over the life of the band, La Paz went through almost as many as Spinal Tap. Unquestionably the loudest and the most accomplished was/is their current drummer, Paul McManus.
They gigged regularly and played some prestigious venues including the world-famous Marquee Club in London as well as at some festivals in Milton Keynes. They were featured regularly in music magazines of the day, particularly Kerrang! (Derek Oliver becoming a big fan of the band) and attracted interest from a number of UK and US record companies, finally agreeing terms with one of them for a three album deal. But it was not to be - for reasons which were never explained by the record label the deal fell through at the very last minute. Sadly the band didn't survive for very long after that. They did their last gig on 15th October 1988 and then Doogie moved to London to join Midnite Blue, Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, Cornerstone, Yngwie Malmsteen and now Michael Schenker. And then legendary DJ Tom Russell of 96.3 Rock Radio called Doogie and asked him if he would do some acoustic numbers at The Garage in Glasgow for Rock Radio's Birthday Bash in January 2008. Doogie agreed and asked Chic to play guitar.
It was a big ask after 20 years: almost 1000 people, Doogie singing alone and Chic with one flamenco guitar! "We had such a blast though and it woke up so many great memories in both of us that we decided to give it a go with the full band for my 50th birthday" said Chic. And so the full band started to rehearse and it was clear that they could still play a bit. The band just gelled: just like old times and the gigs were a terrific success. And so the idea of re-recording some of the favourites from the set that had never had a proper production job was conceived. The final result can be heard on the album "Granite" released in February 2012 on Metal Mind Productions. The band's second album, "The Dark and The Light" was also released on Metal Mind Productions on 27th May 2013 to critical acclaim, with Classic Rock and Powerplay magazines both giving positive and strong reviews and the track "Don't Drink With The Devil2 becoming the Classic Rock Magazine's Number 1 Track of The week in their reader's poll.
Live appearances are difficult due to Doogie White's touring schedule with Michael Schenker and Paul McManus' also being involved with GUN, but the band made a rare appearance as the headline act on the opening night of the 2014 Hard Rock Hell Festival on March 20th. The show was "packed" and well received.
Almost immediately after "The Dark And The Light" had been released, Chic McSherry and Doogie White started writing new material. A total of 17 ideas were demo'd with 11 of them finally being crafted into songs for a new album. Recording could only be done in stages because of other commitments, but in many ways that extra time allowed the songs to develop and mature into a very powerful rock album, entitled "Shut Up And Rawk!" which is due for worldwide release by Metal Mind Productions on April, 8th 2016!

WE ARE THE CATALYST
Since their formation in late 2012, Sweden's We Are The Catalyst have
been establishing themselves as one of Europe's most exciting and
compelling musical acts. Their debut EP, Panem Et Circenses, was a
critical and fan favorite, earning the band spots on several major
soundtracks and video airplay in over 20 countries. Considering their
pedigree, this shouldn't come as a surprise. Principal members Cat Fey
and Kenny Boufadene spent years touring with the metal act One Without
(sharing bills with Dead By April, Katatonia, and more as well as
releasing albums on Lifeforce Records) and have channeled their skills
and passion into We Are The Catalyst

The new release, Monuments, tops everything we've come to expect from
WATC. Released worldwide by Seven13 Music, it hits harder, it soars
higher, and it cuts just a little bit deeper. Case in point is their
new single for "Don't You Worry Child," a blunt assessment of the
heartbreaking truths surrounding child abuse in the world and the
steps that we can all take to help end this terrible affliction.

The "Don't You Worry Child" video is a kick straight to the heart of
the viewer that will be felt in the pit of the stomach and tug on the
heart strings of viewers far and wide. The video begins with a sincere
address by none other than Jerry Springer, asking viewers to show
their support for "Don't You Worry Child," as all profits from the
single will go to The Fostering Network and helping children in need
find loving homes.

In May 2015 the band took on a highly successful 10 day tour of China.
Later in the year they played the UK's Bloodstock Festival along with
an opening slot in Birmingham on the 23rd of October with Delain.

We Are The Catalyst are currently completing their first full UK Tour,
with tours in 2016 of the US, Russia and China to follow. The bands
final UK date of 2015 is on the 5th of December where they will play
alongside The Darkness, Rival Sons and FM at Planet Rocktock.

Galahad - News

In order to celebrate the band's 30th anniversary Galahad will be releasing a historical double CD retrospective with a twist, the twist being that ten of the tracks included are brand new re-recorded versions of old Galahad songs, some dating back to 1985, the year the band formed, including one thirty year old track (City of Freedom) which has never been recorded before!
In some cases the new versions are similar to the originals but in other cases the songs have been re-worked and re-arranged considerably, either way we have tried our best to be sympathetic to the spirit of the originals whilst trying to bring them up to date in terms of their sonic quality and also so that they compare favourably, hopefully, with the Galahad sound of 2015!

As this is a rather special album, we have also included a few strategically placed 'tributes' to a few of our original influences within some of the newly recorded 'old' tracks, so it'll be interesting to see if they'll get spotted!

All tracks were recorded at Thin Ice, once again, with Karl Groom at the helm on engineering and mixing duties. The album also includes guest appearances from Mark Andrews (our keyboard player from 1988 to 1991) playing piano on three tracks and Sarah Bolter on backing vocals on the re-worked version of 'Ocean Blue'. Daryl Watts plays Bass guitar on 'The Chase, Daryl is the son of Paul Watts, our first bass guitarist who was a band member from 1985 to 1988, thus here comes Galahad ..the next generation!"

The track list for 'When Worlds Collide' is:
CD1
1. Lady Messiah (1985/2015)
2. The Chase (1988/2015)
3. City of Freedom (1986/2015)
4. Chamber of Horrors (1990/2015)
5. Dreaming from the Inside (1985/2015)
6. Room 801 (1990/2015)
7. Ocean Blue (1996/2015)
8. Don't Lose Control (1990/015)
9. Karma For One (1997/2015)
10. Exorcising Demons ( 1993/2015)

CD2
11. Empires Never Last (2006/2014)
12. Sleepers (1992/2012)
13. Richelieu's Prayer (1990/2012)
14. Painted Lady (1985/2014)
15. Bug Eye (1997/2014)
16. Singularity (2012)
17. Guardian Angel (2012)
18. Seize the Day (Single mix) (2014)
19. This Life Could Be My Last (2014)

We would like to say a very big thank you to everyone who came and supported us at the several shows we played during 2015. The audience reaction and the general love in the air shown towards the band was humbling at times especially in Poland and also at 30th anniversary show at Mr Kyps in Poole, which really did serve as a big reminder as to why we do it all in the first place despite our ever rapidly advancing years!

After a very hectic 2015, 2016 will be a little quieter, a year of rest on the live front in fact, but we will spend much of the year writing and recording material for our next studio album which we hope to release in 2017. We already have a hatful ideas which are being worked on at the moment, so more exciting times ahead for the band.

Well, that's about it for now from a very busy Galahad HQ, but I'd also just like to extend a massive hand of gratitude to all those who have supported us throughout the last 30 years or so and wish you all a very merry Christmas as well as a peaceful, safe, prosperous and happy 2016. --

Nergard releases new music video

The norwegian melodic metal band NERGARD releases music video for the
title track from their latest album A BIT CLOSER TO HEAVEN. The video
was filmed at this years edition of Trondheim Metal Fest where the
band was fronted by the amazing Andi Kravljaca (Aeon Zen, Thaurorod).

his family is by committing suicide."

Washam's lyrical content is inspired by life experiences as well as elements of spiritual and political significance. He released his debut solo album, "Blood Moon".

During his formative years, he performed in many budding Rock N Roll ensembles, most notably with the jamband Peach Melba. Washam toured extensively with Peach Melba throughout the midwestern United States from 1996 until the group disbanded in 2004.

Many of Morgan's early works can be heard on three albums released by the group during this period. Additionally, Morgan has worked with youth in music, teaching and inspiring young people in public schools to immerse themselves creatively in the arts through music.

Washam has also worked extensively with a local arts advocacy organization to help renovate a performance theater that will serve as a beacon for the performing arts in the local community in his home town. To see Octopus in the top 40 is such a pleasant surprise. Steven

the Gentle Giant team especially want to thank the old and new fans
for keeping the music we created years ago still vital today."

Nathanson, who calls it "brilliant work."

Scott Kelly tour

It has been awhile since we last wrote to you. 2015 has been a whirlwind year for the band.  We have new management having signed with Breaking Bands LLC and the legendary Jonny Z.  We also have a new agent in United Talent Artists from Hollywood, and have just begun our first major tour, which covers 21 cities.

While that sure seems like a lot, we were able to also squeeze in the creation of a new CD, titled
" Magic of Winter". So far it is getting great reviews and one of the songs has even been called a masterpiece by one reviewer. We couldn't be more proud!

The Wizards just completed the  first leg of our tour which covered several cities in Florida. This week we head out to Wilkes Barre Pa. and the Count Basie Theater in Red Bank NJ.  To see our whole schedule, go to our website, www.thewizardsofwinter.com   or check us out on Facebook.

The new CD, along with last year's release, is now available on from our website as well as I tunes and Amazon.  We also have some great new T Shirt designs.

Only 3 shows into the tour, and the band is already on fire!!  All of us have just really locked in well with the new music. If you have seen us before, you will a whole lot of new material and a different show design for 2015. The band itself only has one new member this year. That would be Donna DeLucia on backing vocals. She really fills out the harmonies!

We look forward to seeing you all during the coming couple of weeks. Come up and say hi at the Meet and Greet we hold after every show.

THE PINEAPPLE THIEF FRONTMAN BRUCE SOORD TO RELEASE SELF-TITLED SOLO ALBUM THIS JANUARY ON KSCOPE

ENGLAND - Kscope is set to release the first solo album from Bruce Soord, the frontman and creative force behind The Pineapple Thief, on January 22, 2016.

The self-titled album was recorded during the summer of 2015 at Bruce Soord's U.K. studio. All the tracks were written and performed by Soord with Darran Charles (Godsticks) playing additional guitar.

Fans can here the first track "Familiar Patterns" on YouTube at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYBB2iHfutE&feature=youtu.be and SoundCloud at:

Having wanted to make a solo album for many years, Soord found himself taking surprising paths to create this record; here he has explored the softer, dreamier side of his song-writing - more acoustic in nature, while retaining depth in its arrangement.

Revisiting his life to find inspiration for the songs, this record is a celebration of the past as much as it is an epitaph of times past. While the songs describe a sense of the past that has been lost, it is also a celebration of Soord's wonderful and artistically decaying childhood town.

Soord recently premiered the songs live with a U.K. tour supporting label mates Sweet Billy Pilgrim.
1. Black Smoke
2. Buried Here
3. The Odds
4. A Thousand Daggers
5. Willow Tree
6. Born In Dilusion
7. Field Day Part 1
8. Field Day Part 2
9. Familiar Patterns
10. Leaves Leave Me

Soord's mainstay band The Pineapple Thief, which he founded in 1999, has continued to evolve and refine its sound and is seen by many as one of the most interesting and innovative rock bands the U.K. has produced in recent years. Albums like Magnolia (2014), All the Wars (2012) andSomeone Here Is Missing (2010) have made the band's reputation and fan base stronger, gathering interest from a wider spectrum of alternative rock followers. Bruce Soord also collaborates with other Kscope artists, joining forces with Katatonia's Jonas Renkse on the 2013 Wisdom of Crowds project and joining Katatonia on its Dethroned & Uncrowned Unplugged acoustic European tour. Soord is also working on various other projects creating 5.1 mixes, including the new TesseracT album Polaris and remixing Opeth's album Deliverance.

Stay tuned for more information on Bruce Soord and his upcoming self-titled solo album, out next year on Kscope.

Seasons Greetings from Wishbone Ash

Not long to go now until Christmas, although you'd never know it here in Connecticut. The temperatures have been positively spring-like with some days being in the balmy 60s. Facebook certainly enables me to get in the mood though, with all your seasonal postings (mostly guitar related). I particularly liked seeing the Christmas trees made out of guitars and even drum sets! Very creative. I'm sure there are more than a few fans, musicians themselves, with a guitar or two on their own personal Christmas shopping lists.

On my list is a new vinyl turntable. A while ago, I decided to throw all my old vinyl out and then at the very last minute, decided not to. I had too many great memories invested in those LPs. I remembered that I also had some old JBL studio monitors stashed away, identical to the ones Bill Szymczyk and all the producers would have used at Criteria Studios in Miami, where we recorded several albums in the 1970s. I decided to rig up a system to recreate how I would have actually listened to the music as it went down in the control room and later, as I'd listen to the final mastered recordings that were produced back then. Incidentally, as our fans will know, Wishbone Ash has recently released the Live at Metropolis vinyl disc as well as a vinyl version of Blue Horizon. Vinyl is popular once again and we actually still have some of those discs available for the connoisseur should you wish to pick one of those up on our upcoming European tour (wishboneash.com/tourdates) or from our webstore (http://wishboneash.bigcartel.com)

The Wishbone Ash disc I chose to spin on my new turntable was There's the Rub. The sound was immediately there and it was novel to hear the songs in order with the correct gaps between tracks and to go through the process of turning over the disc for the second side featuring the track FUBB, while sipping on a nice glass of wine. All of this got my juices flowing, and so next up was the album Hotel California by the Eagles another Szymczyk produced disc featuring twin lead guitars aplenty. How would the guitar solos sound coming directly of the vinyl platter? Not bad, as it turns out. Definitely different from the digital version I'd grown accustomed to in recent years. The same goes for the bass end and drums. This was an interesting experiment because the two albums are related.

Our recording sessions in 1975 were kind of like the sound check for this global hit by the Eagles. I know Bill honed many of his editing and tape-splicing chops a lot by working with us and the same goes for his recording techniques. The Eagles were loading their gear into studio 3 while we were in the process of reviewing our final mixes in the control room there. Both discs have a lot of similarities in their production values, being recorded in that same studio, mixed in the same control room (on those JBL monitors) with Bill and his engineer, Alan Blazyk, handling the engineering. As a side note, while I was listening, I remembered how taken aback Bill had been when he'd met us at Miami International Airport and instead of Ted Turner walking to greet him, the new guy, Laurie Wisefield, turned up. No one had informed Bill of the personnel change! No matter, he still got to record some stellar guitar tracks and then, directly after six weeks in the studio with us, eve n more stellar guitar with the Eagles, culminating in their worldwide classic album.

Anyway, as all these memories came flooding back during my reacquaintance with my vinyl collection, I was reminded how Christmas is like this, a time to reflect and a time to recharge batteries. I'm rarely able to do this kind of thing so I'm enjoying the vinyl experience as well as catching up on my reading as well as following the current political scene in the USA. We had the last Republican debate last night. The recent terrorist events in Paris and San Bernadino have certainly brought out the sabre rattling from the candidates.

All that aside, I must quickly let you know that we have been fulfilling mail orders for the Live at Le Triton DVDs that we recorded in the Spring of this year, in Paris. It was a great 8 camera shoot and a fine production by Christian Guyonnet. There's just time to get a few more orders sent out if you are living in America.

Please note that this will ONLY ship to the U.S. The European version is coming very soon and we'll let you know as soon as it's available for mail order that side of the Atlantic.

So, if you live in the U.S.A. you can click here to order your copy now!
They will of course also be available on our upcoming European tour dates at our merchandise stall in operation at each venue. The band will be on hand to sign copies in that case. Solid Rock House Records have now taken over the licensing and distribution of this DVD for Europe.

Speaking of France, we've added a short tour of that country, including Le Forum in Paris for the month of March. In addition, we've also tacked onto the end of our mammoth jaunt around Europe in January and February, 4 Italian dates, including Rome. Once again, please visit wishboneash.com/tourdates

For those of you who fancy an in-depth rock and roll read over the Christmas holidays, Amazon still has my biography Eyes Wide Open available. (find it onamazon.co.uk or amazon.com)

I wish to thank all of those who've already bought it and who have personally taken the time to pass on their feedback to me. It's been a truly gratifying experience and if, like those old vinyl records, my book has sparked some personal memories for you of those glory days in the 70s, all the better. Our musical generation certainly was blessed in that regard and I'm very mindful of how important music can be as a backdrop to people's lives, including my own, obviously. It absolutely heightens personal experiences.

Finally, all that remains is wish each and every one of you a wonderful Christmas season at home or on vacation with loved ones and we thank you sincerely for your continued support of Wishbone Ash and all this band has done over the last 45 years and continues to do. See you in Europe in 2016!

Cochise reveal their brand new video !

Polish rock/metal band Cochise revealed a brand new video promoting their most recent album "The Sun Also Rises for Unicorns". You can watch "Perfect place to Die" video in THIS location.

"Sometimes we destroy what we love, and we love what we are destroying. Someone once said: 'It happens, that the people around us do not understand the way we are going. They do not have to do it as it's not their way'. And that's exactly what 'Perfect place to Die" is about." – Paweł Małaszyński, the band's vocalist comments.

The video was directed by Laura Kielar known from her work with Cochise's previous clips "Black Summer" and "The boy who lived before"

The follow-up to the "118" album is their fourth full-length album. All guitars, bass and drum parts were recorded in just one take at The Rolling Tapes studio. All vocals were recorded at Nagrywatornia Studio in their hometown Bialystok. Paweł says "The album is full of questions, sadness, anxiety and nostalgia. There is also strength, rebellion, joy, love and pride. There are some utopian-romantic visions of the world. This is the album about unique individuals, sensitive and full of passion but often apathetic, amoral, introverted and withdrawn." Musically, "The Sun Also Rises for unicorns" is a continuation of what the band recorded so far. "We hope, this album is a step forward, a natural development for the band" says Wojtek, Cochise's guitarist.

So far, they have released a demo "9" plus three full-length releases - „Still Alive" in 2010, „Back to Beginning" in 2012 and "118" in 2014. On their studio albums, Cochise perfectly blend energetic songs enriched with heavy, almost metal sounds with more delicate, atmospheric ones. Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention “The Lost Broadcast: The Beat Club '68” Entire Performance To Be Released On DVD!

London, UK – For the first time ever, Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention "The Lost Broadcast: The Beat Club '68" entire show will be released on DVD by Gonzo Multimedia in December 2015!This DVD contains a filmed rehearsal of Frank Zappa and the Mothers Of Invention at the legendary Beat Club in Bremen, Germany, on 6th October 1968. It was part of the band's second European tour, the first having occurred a year before, although this was their first visit to Germany.

What can be observed during this event is a typical rehearsal scenario, where the band is eating, drinking, tuning up their instruments, enjoying some laughs, having cosmetics applied and gradually beginning to rehearse. The music is largely one long improvisatory continuous performance rather than a run-through of their greatest hits, but occasionally Zappa directs the band into the opening themes of some of his more well-known pieces. The ensemble performs interesting renditions of "King Kong", "A Pound For A Brown On The Bus", "Sleeping In A Jar" and "Uncle Meat", all of which would be included on the "Uncle Meat" album, which had already been recorded but would not be released for another six months. Also played was an instrumental version of "Let's Make The Water Turn Black", a version of "Prelude To The Afternoon Of A Sexually Aroused Gas Mask", a stab at the "Prelude To Act 3 of Lohengrin" by Richard Wagner and a nod towards "Octandre" by Edgard Varese.

The footage shows Frank's use his famous hand signals to great effect, conducting and controlling the direction of the music, instructing the musicians when to start, stop, punctuate, slow down, speed up, improvise, play in different time signatures etc.

Ten days later, the Mothers of Invention were due to play at the Berlin Sportpalast. Prior to the show, Zappa was approached by students who, presumably still fired up by events the previous summer in Paris, where a revolution had almost taken place, asked him to declare his opposition to capitalism from the stage and, by extension, to further the cause of the armed and violent revolution that they believed was necessary to transform society. The students, wrong-footed by the band's long hair, freaky appearance and reputation, assumed that an anarchic look automatically foreshadowed an anarchic attitude. Zappa, far too intelligent a man to be swayed by their ill-conceived arguments, refused. The student leaders suggested that, in that case, Frank could lend support for their cause by encouraging them to set fire to public buildings.

On the night of the gig, the audience pelted the group with fruit, eggs and paint and shouted out that the band should be renamed the Mothers Of Reaction. Naturally enough, the band were deemed to be in an unsafe environment and the show ended early. As a result of the experience Frank presented everyone in the band with a Berlin Survival Award 1968 medal, and also wrote "Holiday In Berlin", later to appear on the "Burnt Weeny Sandwich" album.

Frank Zappa had a relatively short life but a long career. He left a large body of work due to the fact that he hardly ever stopped composing, recording, playing and gigging. While there is much footage of Zappa available, the early stage of his career is more sparsely documented than most.

The Mothers of Invention at the time of this filming: Frank Zappa, Ian Underwood, Bunk Gardner, Don Preston, Roy Estrada, Jimmy Carl Black, Art Tripp, Motorhead Sherwood

Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention - The Lost Broadcast: The Beat Club '68 (Full Show) (DVD) will be released on Dec 18, 2015.
