Michael Schenker Group/Points North/Spiralarms October 4, 2012 7 PM @ The Rodeo, San Jose, CA

It was late 2007, and a fledgling Points North had only played its first couple of live shows, when all of a sudden the phone rang – and the opportunity came to open for the Michael Schenker Group, on the first night of their tour, in Santa Rosa, CA.

When the audience demanded an encore, we knew we were on to something - and we've not looked back since! So it's with a feeling of great honor and gratitude that we're excited to announce this next show - opening for Michael Schenker, once again on the opening night of their tour.

Instead of the North Bay, this time it's in the South Bay, at the Rodeo in San Jose, and we're direct support! (Which doesn't mean to get there late; the opening band are our friends in Spiralarms, who have a new record out that's garnering rave reviews, and back it up with a killer live show.)

Discount advance tickets are available only from the Rodeo directly; here's the link: http://tickets.ticketon.com/evinfo.php?action=set_lang&country=US&eventid=253676&lang=en

Of course, Michael Schenker shows have been known to sell out, so advance tickets are definitely recommended. Here are the rest of the show details: Location: 610 Coleman Ave , San Jose, California 95122Facebook Event Page: https://www.facebook.com/events/241935675928687/Venue web site: http://www.rockinrodeosjc.com/ And we're also excited about a number of other upcoming shows supporting some of our favorite national acts, including

"Ice King" single by CORVUS STONE

Single Is a Prelude to the Full Album Release.

On September 24th, the first single from Corvus Stone was released by Melodic Revolution Records. Anyone who purchases the digital single will get the price taken off the purchase price of the upcoming full album, making it a great, no risk way to sample new music from this group.

While Corvus Stone is technically a new project, the members of the group are anything but newcomers to the music world. Guitarist Colin Tench is known for his work in BunChakeze, Road to Avalon (featuring former Flower Kings drummer Zoltan Csörsz Jr.)  and the Colin Tench Project. Petri Lemmy Lindström (bass) plays in Progeland and Saturn Twilight and was formerly in Lyijykomppania. Keyboardist Pasi Koivu has performed as a solo artist and with Psychedelic Eye. For the single of "Ice King," the group was joined by Blake Carpenter of Road to Avalon and Minstrel's Ghost (vocals) and Robert Wolff (ex Raven and Micah) on drums.

In the upcoming issue of Music Street Journal, Vivian Lee says this of "Ice King:"  "At first listen I was put off by the dark heavy lyrics of an Odin-esque figure in the song, but multiple listenings revealed swirling synths, and ethnic percussion aiding vocalist Carpenter's telling the tale of the Ice King. Overall, the song is a pleasant surprise (I was expecting to hear Nordic doom-metal), and highly listenable; a case of 'less is more.'" In the review posted at J.J.D.'s Reviews and Interviews Blog, Justin Donelly said, "Ice King' is somewhat of a strange track to pin down in the sound sense. There's an unmistakable feel of classic '70's progressive rock within the song, but there's also a touch of world music within the subtle acoustic guitar work and percussion that drifts in and out throughout the song. The build up of heavy guitar work provides a memorable high point around the latter half of the track; while Tench's ever present echoed guitar sounds are executed with absolute finesse. But while the individual performances are noteworthy, it's the song as a whole that really wins me over. Despite the cold lyric themes, the haunting vocals of Carpenter and the minimal musical composition, it all comes together perfectly for the band."

Love De Vice - preview of the DVD available on YouTube

The first live DVD by the Polish progressive rock band Love De Vice will be released in Europe on October, 15th. The DVD entitled "Silesian Night 11.11.11" features the band's outstanding performance at the Wyspiański Theatre in Katowice. And now you can watch the preview of the DVD. Track "Say No" is available on Metal Mind Productions' official channel on YouTube in THIS location.

For the band, it wasn't just an ordinary gig, it was also a chance to present the renewed "spirit and body" of Love De Vice. On that November evening, the band performed in a new, improved line-up – with the new keyboardist, Jack Melnicki (LSD Project, ex-Riverside), whose rich and spacious arrangements ideally tuned into the style of the band. Except for a few well-known tracks taken from their two albums, they mainly presented brand new material. Six out of nine compositions recorded on that night are planned to be included on their new, as yet untitled studio album. These include such compositions as the Floyd-ish "Another Day", the delicate "Frosty Morning", reminiscent of King Crimson's debut, and the oriental "Winter of Soul", performed with hard rock spirit, as well as the monumental "Say No". Besides the new original compositions, the tracklist also includes a cover of Deep Purple's "When a Blind Man Cries", played in a completely different arrangement, and the band's best-known pieces, such as "With You Now" and "Letter in A Minor". On that night, Love De Vice was accompanied by such guests as the National Philharmonic musician Mateusz Szmyt on cello and Tomasz "Ragaboy" Osiecki on dilruba (which is a variation of the Hindu sitar played with a bow), which spiced the arrangements with an even more oriental atmosphere.

The "Silesian Night 11.11.11" DVD also includes additional materials, such as interviews with the band members, photo gallery, band's history and the video clip "Foggy Future". Metal Mind Productions set the release date on October, 15th in Europe and November, 12th in USA (via MVD).

Australian Prog Legends Unitopia To Release Highly Anticipated New CD 'Covered Mirror'

Australia - Much to the excitement of progressive rock fans around the globe, legendary Australian prog ensemble Unitopia is releasing a new CD of cover songs titled 'Covered Mirror' on October 31, 2012. The most well-known and respected progressive rock band to emerge from Down Under, Unitopia is back with a ground breaking, powerful new release!

"Making a covers album is always a challenge," confesses lead vocalist Mark Trueack, "and reproducing classic songs and making them ours was always going to be difficult. We spent a great deal of time coming up with ideas and we are very proud of the results. We wanted to take the listener on a journey or experience, if you like. We fused together progressive, pop and rock music into one smooth sound."

Based in Adelaide, South Australia, Unitopia endeavours to draw from the heart and soul of the listener thought provoking topics such as environmental awareness, political and social upheaval and the hectic pace of life and human relationships in a positive and uplifting light. Using progressive themes as a framework, Unitopia's music includes elements of world, classical, jazz, heavy rock and groove.

Mark Trueack (composer/lead vocals/producer), Sean Timms (composer/ keyboards/ backing vocals/ producer) and Matt Williams (guitars/backing vocals/producer) form the nucleus of the band. To complete the line-up, they chose the combined drum/ percussion batteries of David Hopgood and Tim Irrgang, Craig Kelly on bass and Daniel Burgess (sax/clarinet/flute/piccolo/didgeridoo).

Unitopia released their first album 'More Than A Dream' in 2007 on the Canadian label Unicorn Digital. The band signed a three-album deal with InsideOut Music in Germany in 2008; the only Australian band to have signed with the label to this day. Unitopia's second album 'The Garden', released that year, established the band as one of the premier progressive rock acts in the world. With the release of their critically acclaimed third CD 'Artificial' and a subsequent successful tour of Europe in 2010, the critics were unanimous. "Unitopia has been one of the best live acts on the Progressive Rock scene in the last few years!"

The band's performance at the Boerderij, Zoetermeer in the Netherlands during the 2010 European tour was filmed and recorded. A subsequent live CD and DVD 'One Night In Europe' were released in 2011, successfully capturing the excitement of Unitopia in concert. Adding another dimension to Unitopia's conceptuality, renowned artist Ed Unitsky was brought into the fold, touted as the "fourth Unitopian". Says Mark in a recent interview with Prognaut, "We found each other on the net. He liked our sound so we started the process of getting to know his art, before engaging in his work."

And now Unitopia has taken their music to another level with their new CD of cover songs. "Both Sean and I chose songs that we both liked and wanted to give them our Midas touch," says Mark. "We wanted to bring these songs together, by bridging nice musical segways."

Tracks include:
1.  Signs of Life (Prelude) Sean Timms
2.  Calling Occupants (Klaatu)
3.  Easter (Marillion)
4.  Man of Colours (Icehouse)

Renaissance New Album Samples and More

This has been a summer of intense focus on the composing and recording of our new album, Grandine il Vento.  We've barely had time to come up for air, let alone enjoy the summer. That said, the journey has been magnificent and we're now in the final stages of production; weaving in a couple of fantastic guest appearances before starting the process of mixing. To say we're multi-tasking is an understatement!

With this said, completion of Grandine il Vento is taking longer than we had originally anticipated. In order to keep you and your ears in the loop, here is a sampler of several songs from the album. The songs in the sampler are:

Symphony of Light
Waterfall
Grandine il Vento
Cry to the World

For those of you that missed the deadline for our Kickstarter pre-purchase album campaign earlier this year, you can visit our website and review some of the few packages that we are making available.
We are looking forward to seeing you on tour. If you haven't purchased tickets please do so and be sure to let your friends know.  For those fans in the Philadelphia and New Jersey area, the Scottish Rite Auditorium is sold-out, but there are good seats still left for the Keswick Theater.

TESSERACT Announces New Singer; Post Teaser of New Single, "Nocturne"

UK Progressive Metal band, TESSERACT, are excited to welcome Ashe O'Hara into the group as their new vocalist. Ashe's power, emotion, and diversity will help to continue the distinctive yet ever evolving TESSERACT sound. Hailing from Northampton originally, Ashe spent his early years singing in many different groups, from choirs to musical theatre, and has more recently worked on a number of ambient/alternative metal projects as well as session work. Ashe currently resides in Hove, East Sussex and is eagerly awaiting the upcoming tour and working on the new album.

Comments Ashe: I have always been an admirer of their work so it's pretty awesome to be passed such a challenging flame. I am very aware of the anticipation and I am certainly feeling the weight of it; but I am equally excited for what shall be an amazing and shithot experience!

TESSERACT adds, "We realize that the vocalist search seemed like it took a long time, but we wanted to make sure that we found someone who was a perfect fit both on stage and in the studio and Ashe is just that. We very much appreciate the patience and support our fans have shown us and look forward to the next TesseracT chapter."

The first preview of that chapter, a teaser of the song, "Nocturne", can be heard here:

Whilst at the same time allowing for the musical evolution that is essential for any band that has a lineup change," says TESSERACT

Osada Vida announces their new singer!

Osada Vida, one of the most interesting Polish bands on the prog-rock scene, recently debuted on stage in a new improved line-up. The historical event took place last Friday at Leśniczówka Club in Chorzów, where the band was joined by their new singer Marek Majewski, previously known from the band Acute Mind.

Łukasz Lisiak, the bass guitarist and the band's former singer comments: "We are very happy that we met Marek on our way. Until now, we were like a sailing boat without a sail. With Marek on board, we will sail ahead with full force and determination. We are not afraid of any stage – we are complete as a band. I can only regret one thing - it happened at least one year too late. Then again, better late than never ;-)".

The band performed a very energetic set comprised of old well-known tracks as well as a few new songs that will appear on their next album, scheduled for release in the Spring of 2013. The concert in Chorzow was also a warm-up show before the next big event in the band's career - ProgStage Festival in Israel. The  fetival is scheduled for October 4th-7th, 2012 and will present heavy metal, progressive metal and some progressive rock bands. Swedish metal band Pain of Salvation will headline the festival. Other top acts include the progressive rock band The Flower Kings (Sweden), the metal band Andromeda (Sweden) and one of the most famous bands from Israel – Orphaned Land.

Osada Vida AD 2012 (l-r): Łukasz Lisiak, Rafał Paluszek, Marek Majewki, Bartek Bereska, Adam Podzimski

Osada Vida's discography includes three demos and three well received official releases - "Three Seats Behind a Triangle" (2006/2007), "The Body Parts Party" (2008), "Uninvited Dreams" (2009). Their albums feature elaborately beautiful music in the vein of Yes, Porcupine Tree, Pain Of Salvation and Riverside. In early July, Osada Vida released their first live DVD entitled "Where The Devils Live" featuring the recording of their live appearance at the Wyspianski Theater in Katowice, Poland in November 2011.

We had a great gig at Seattle's Studio 7 last month, many thanks to all who attended.  We did a quick photo shoot during rehearsals for the show, resulting in the shot above.  What do you think?  We're going to do another shoot next month that is not quite so rushed, so we'll have lots of pics to share soon.

Well, gotta run and start getting those pre-orders ready to ship.

Thanks for being Presto Ballet fans everyone!

Eric Johnson returns to UK for nationwide tour

Eric Johnson, the celebrated American electric guitarist, hailed by Joe Bonamassa as "one of the greatest guitar players of all time," returns to the UK in 2013 for a tour that kicks off at the London o2 Shepherd's Bush Empire on Wednesday 3rd April.

Planet Rockwill start at ticket pre-sale on Wednesday 26th September, followed by general on-sale date of Friday 28th September fromwww.thegigcartel.com and 0844 478 0898.
The 6-date tour will showcase material from his current album Up Close, as well as from his rich back catalogue, including the classic Cliffs of Dover.

London o2 Shepherds Bush Empire (April 3)
Harrogate Theatre (April 4)
Edinburgh Queen's Hall (April 5)
Manchester Royal Northern College of Music (April 6)
Birmingham Town Hall (April 7)
Salisbury City Hall (April 8)

Guitar Player magazine described Johnson as "one of the most respected guitarists on the planet." His critically acclaimed, platinum-selling 1990 recording Ah Via Musicom produced the single Cliffs of Dover, for which he won the 1991 Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance (the track also appeared on Guitar Hero 3 – Legends of Rock).

In 1996 he joined forces with Joe Satriani and Steve Vai for the original and legendary G3 tour that garnered a worldwide audience with the platinum selling CD/DVD. Johnson's best known for playing stock Fender Stratocasters and Gibson ES-335 electric guitars through a triple amp setup, consisting of vintage Fender and Marshall amplifiers.

Eric Johnson's stature as one of the premier guitar players in contemporary music is his artistic trump card, backed by a Grammy Award and five nominations, platinum album, Top 10 hits like Cliffs of Dover, praise from critics and the esteem of his peers. The full range of his talents marks him as a gifted songwriter, dynamic live performer, singer, pianist, and song interpreter.

His myriad and distinctive musical gifts are vividly evident on Johnson's current studio album, Up Close, released on his own Vortexan Music label. The 15-track disc finds the noted master craftsman cutting loose, roaming through variations on the rock, blues, pop, country and jazz genres,  pushing the dynamic range of his artistry, and mixing it up with such friends and peers as guitarists Jimmie Vaughan and Sonny Landreth, plus guest vocalists Steve Miller, Johnny Lang and Malford Milligan.

"I decided to let go a bit and allow things to happen and just go with the flow," explains Johnson about his approach to the album. "That's a direction that works better for any artist, and especially for me. I like my work to have a high proficiency, but I also want to go for the energy and magic of the performances."

That vitality and vivid musicality brims from such hook-filled numbers as the hard-rocking instrumentals Fat Daddy and Vortexan and the driving vocal song Brilliant Room (sung by Milligan). Gem is splashed with bright and painterly six-string colors, Soul Surprise finds Johnson weaving a picturesque tapestry of both his guitar and piano gifts, and Arithmetic summons up a swirling and spectral kaleidoscope of guitars, keyboards and Johnson's singing.

His early years and influences are explored on the Mike Bloomfield/Buddy Miles-composed blues song Texas (from the 1968 Electric Flag album A Long Time Comin') on which Miller sings and Johnson's and Vaughan's guitars engage in stirring interplay, and Austin (sung by Lang), which looks back to his teens in his hometown as a budding player and avid music fan who would be allowed to slip under-aged into music nightclubs and "go sit in the back and listen to bands."

On The Way is a delightful Texas meets Tennessee twang romp, and A Change Has Come To Me opens with a six-string nod to Jimi Hendrix (a prime Johnson influence) that carries through the track as it burgeons into a celebration of the pleasures of the deep and soulful groove. Interstitial instrumental snippets like the spellbinding Indian music-flavored opener Awaken and the dreamlike Traverse and The Sea and the Mountain plus Change (Revisited) weave the collection together. Johnson caps the CD with the uplifting grace note of  Your Book on which he and Landreth interweave their playing (including Johnson's stately piano work) with emotive elegance.

The lyrical themes of reflection, emotional revelations, personal growth and fulfillment are underscored on the album by Johnson's most daring, urgent, progressive and at times raw and fervent guitar work to date. With its sonic immediacy (thanks to a mix by engineering legend Andy Johns) and openhearted musicality and songwriting, Up Close truly lives up to its name as Johnson continues to forge fresh and compelling new dimensions of his artistry.

Johnson leapt to the forefront of contemporary music some 20 years ago as "an extraordinary guitar player accessible to ordinary music fans," as the Memphis Commercial Appeal hails him, with his landmark million selling 1990 album Ah Via Musicom. Hailed as a record that reached near-classic proportions within the guitar community, it was preceded by dedicated groundwork as a live performer that marked him as a talent bound for great things. And it's been followed by a diverse and fascinating musical journey that inspired The New Age Music Guide to rave that "Eric Johnson plays guitar the way Michelangelo painted ceilings: with a colorful vibrancy that's more real than life."

His achievements include being enshrined in Guitar Player's Gallery of Greats and named one of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of the 20th Century by Musician magazine amongst numerous other awards. He enjoys the admiration of many of his fellow players and has performed/ recorded with such notables as Chet Atkins, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani and others.

He was tapped by Eric Clapton to appear at the 2004 Crossroads Guitar Festival and plays his second stint of the Experience Hendrix tour in fall 2010. He has paid homage in song to such players as Jerry Reed ("Tribute to Jerry Reed" on his album Bloom), fellow Texan Stevie Ray Vaughan (the Grammy-nominated track "SRV") and Wes Montgomery (who Johnson saluted in his Ah Via Musicom song "East Wes"), and boasts both a signature Fender Stratocaster electric and Martin MC-40 acoustic guitar. "Cliffs of Dover" is featured in the video game Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock as the final winning challenge. And in addition to his recordings, tours and DVDs under his own name, Johnson also plays with his side project Alien Love Child, which released an in concert album in 2000, Live and Beyond, that earned an instrumental Grammy nomination for the song "Rain."

ELDRIMNER Digital Album Release Pushed Back to October 12th

ELDIMNER's Inom förloppet av ett liv, its debut full length album, has had the digital version of the album pushed back to October 12th due to technical issues.  The physical version, available only through the band, will still be shipped for the original September 28th release date.  The band's first two singles from the album, "Livsflykt" and "Från mitt hjärta (feat. Axel Widén of ZOMBIEKRIG)" can be heard at http://soundcloud.com/pivotalrockordings/

ELDRIMNER is a Gothenburg, Sweden based progressive extreme metal act featuring MARIONETTE vocalist Alexander Andersson.  Lyrically, Inom förloppet av ett liv tells the life story of a man who discovers a darker side of himself which in turn grows into a disease infecting his thoughts and actions.  Performed entirely in Swedish, this is a story in which your darkest thoughts surface and sing out in pure lamentation.  Expect nothing less than the most bombastic, rhythmically eclectic and stylistically transcendent metal to ever come from Sweden.

ELDRIMNER recorded drums at Top Floor Studios in Gothenburg and guitars, bass, vocals and mixing took place at N3 with THE CROWN guitarist Marko Tervonen.  The album was also mastered by Tervonen and Dragan Tanaskovic (DARK TRANQUILLITY, DIMENSION ZERO, IN FLAMES) and features a guest vocal appearance from ZOMBIEKRIG vocalist Axel Widén who also created the artwork for the album and accompanying novel which will be unveiled on a weekly basis during the run up to the release.

Founded in 2006, ELDRIMNER immediately played shows regularly with other groups in the tight-knit Gothenburg black metal scene.  Over the following years, the band's original black metal sound evolved and matured, taking inspiration from groups as varied as MESHUGGAH but with focus kept on their new branch of black metal.  In 2009, ELDRIMNER released an EP entitled I mitt jag which was followed by an appearance at Metal Town, Gothenburg's largest metal festival.

Inom förloppet av ett liv tracklist:

1.   Minnen från förr
2.   Livsflykt
3.   Undergången
4.   Allt du har
5.   Ett sista andetag
6.   Låt det bara ske
7.   Smutsen kommer inifrån
8.   Plågor för glädjen
9.   Inom förloppet av ett liv
10. Mitt sista kapitel

Female Fronted LA Power Trio bellylove To Release New CD 'Circles and Darkness'

LA's most talked about female fronted rock trio, bellylove, will be releasing their highly anticipated fifth CD in late September. A well-respected musical presence on the Los Angeles music scene, bellylove's new CD 'Circles and Darkness', featuring Lisa Black (guitar) and Toni Valenta (vocals and bass), with Adam Steinberg (drums), is guaranteed to wow and amaze all who listen! With eclectic covers ranging from Frank Zappa, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd and Cheech and Chong (yes! Cheech and Chong), along with some exciting originals penned by the group, bellylove is the band to keep an eye out for in 2012!

"This band plays from the deepest part of themselves with truth and audacity. I love their music. It is both transcendent and adventurous." - Michael Des Barres

Formed on the heels of Lisa Black's debut as guitarist with legendary '80s LA female punk band The Pandoras, and the resulting groups Feline (with members of the Pandoras) and Hardly Dangerous, bellylove began their journey in 1998. Toni Valena is a multi-talented singer/songwriter who plays guitar, bass and drums. She can nail Zeppelin to a tee and writes amazing, thoughful, heartfelt lyrics. bellylove is her baby – she coined the name. "Music has always played an important role in my life," says Toni. "Music gave me sanctuary when I was a kid. I could get lost in the lyrics and voices of the songs I loved the most."

Lisa and Toni released the self-titled EP 'Bellylove' in 1998, which atracted the attention of Joss Whedon, creator of the 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer' TV series. "Joss Whedon thought the song was perfect for a scene in the Season 3 (Sept. 1998) Premier episode: Anne," Toni recalls. "Buffy had run away and was having a deep introspective moment, finding her way back to freedom. We had no idea or intention of any of it happening. Their people contacted us and not only did our song appear on the episode, we got to 'perform' on the set at The Bronze (club). I had never even played a show before appearing on Buffy! It was very exciting for us – we got to meet several of the cast members and see how they made TV magic happen."

Bellylove went on to record another EP in 2004 (High on the Wagon) and a compilation of many EP's on CD in 2007 (Peace Love and Understanding). In 2003 the band travelled to Florida to open for Ani DiFranco at the Calliope Fest in 2003. Drummer Adam Steinberg was recruited for the duo's live act and new CD. "We play for the love of music," says Adam. "Taking a really diverse conglomeration of influences both musically and socially and channeling them through a classic power trio format and playing from the heart."

The band's musical influences, as witnessed by the covers included on the new CD, range far and wide. Lisa's influnces include Frank Zappa, Mick Ronson, Mick Mars and Billy Zoom of X to name a few. "I really fell in love with the song 'Apostrophe' by Zappa when I first heard it and felt like I needed to figure it out on guitar," Lisa explains. "The same with Zappa's 'Magic Fingers' from his 1970 film '200 Motels', with its fiercely crafted guitar riffs. The Zappa, Sabbath, Cheech and Chong selections on the new album were a group effort." Toni's influnces include The Beatles, Nicolette Larson, Bob Welch, Black Flag, X, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and The Cult.

The new single from bellylove's latest release, the title track "Circles and Darkness" was penned by Toni and Lisa. "I am a huge Harry Potter fan," explains Toni. "The lyrics are a nod to the book 'The Prisoner of Azkaban.'" Lisa adds, "I adore that song and love to play it live, it's exciting when the song climaxes at the end, It just leaves ya wantin' more!"

"Authentic rock and roll, strong tight musicians, great lyrics and a lead singer who's voice puts you I heaven!" - Kenny Lombino, Vampire Mob

The band's debut album, 'A Prescription for Paper Cuts' (2005), was well received by the global progressive rock community, both online and offline. The album received several awards and the band was invited to play at the Spirit of 66' club in Belgium under the '2006 Prog Resiste' Annual Convention'.

After four years of playing live concerts and working on new materials, Solstice Coil returned to the studio to work on their second album, 'Natural Causes'. In this album, the band presents a darker and heavier sound alongside a more mature songwriting style, while maintaining their previous level of sophistication and innovation.

Natural Causes was released on June 21, 2011 on Melodic Revolution Records and received dozens of favorable reviews, citing it as a formidable follow up to the band's debut album.

FOCUS WIIL RELEASE A NEW ALBUM TITLED AS "FOCUS X"

Legendary progressive rock veterans FOCUS are set to release their new studio album FOCUS X on November 5 via Eastworld Recordings.
With their unique progressive rock Focus manifested themselves at the start of the seventies as the most successful and the most appreciated of all the Dutch pop-rock exports.

The band is fronted by founder and musical genius Thijs van Leer. Their hits include the instrumentals, "Hocus Pocus", "House of the King", and "Sylvia", and their timeless albums include "Moving Waves", "Focus 3" and "Hamburger Concerto".

A new Focus era has arrived. There is a rejuvenated passion in the new compositions that adorn the new album "Focus X", which features a full scale Roger Dean painting on the cover. Thijs van Leer commented "It's a thrill to have finally completed Focus X; we are all ecstatic and looking forward to playing the new material on the forthcoming Focus X Tour." This album - and the following gigs - will surprise the loyal fans. They will hear once again all the classic Focus tunes and they will be surprised at the strength and depth of the new material. "Our music is evolution, not revolution", Thijs van Leer once said about the music of Focus.

After a comeback which resulted in the well received albums "Focus 8" and "Focus 9", the band is now back on the frontline, with a fantastic line-up. Also back on the drums is Pierre van der Linden, who is internationally renowned for his rhythmic skills, and is still a defining factor in the Focus sound. Bassist Bobby Jacobs, who stems from a well-acclaimed Dutch musical family and guitarist Menno Gootjes, who participated in Focus at an earlier stage, completes the band's current line-up.
