PROGPOWER EUROPE 2012 - THE FULL STORY
We're almost there, the line-up for 2012 is complete now. An updated website is also ready for you to enjoy and tickets are on sale but first some very important news about a special event taking place the day before the festival.
On Thursday October 4th we will have a special night to remember Mikko Laine and we would really like all friends of the festival to come along to the Sijwa basement. There will also be an extra band playing, PERSOFENE from Andorra, and entry is free.
Turning to the festival proper, Friday kicks off with ORKENKJOTT (Norway) and ANUBIS GATE (Denmark). Then we offer a warm welcome to HEAVEN'S CRY (Canada), who return with a new album this month and will come over to Europe for ProgPower onlu. It's a great start to the three days!
Saturday will leave you breathless with not one but two bands coming a very long way to see us. A LIQUID LANDSCAPE(Netherlands) and SHATTERED SKIES (Ireland) are a little nearer to Baarlo than ALARUM (Australia) and THE LEVITATION HEX (also Australia). Then we come to the final two for the Saturday. First will be NIGHTINGALE (Sweden) and then the awesome VANDEN PLAS (Germany). We announced them at the close of the 2011 edition and we know how much everyone is wanting to see them!
Sunday won't let you down and we head to a big finish. ATLANTIS (Netherlands) are our home representatives and will share the Sunday stage with EMPTY YARD EXPERIMENT (Dubai), UNEVEN STRUCTURE (France) and BOREALIS (Canada). Then we see ALPHAEZYA (France) before the excellent CIRCUS MAXIMUS (Norway) close out the festival.
Fifteen bands over three days many of them travelling miles to see you! PROGPOWER EUROPE just seems to get stronger every year and offers a whole host of acts you probably wouldn't get the chance to see otherwise, all in the friendliest festival around.
So how do you get involved? Well we have improved our website so check out http://www.progpowereurope.com/ now. You'll find easy to navigate pages and links to all you need to know - how to get tickets, where to stay and a little about the bands, and more.
See you there!
