Rawburt are a pretty new Göteborg (Gothenburg) metal unit led by former Human Race guitarist Robert Hansson. The band also features bass player Jörgen Raneström and drummer Jörgen Tjusling and power vocalist Stefano Marchesini (ex Human Race). Rawburt compared to Human Race is more melodic metal that hard rock. Influences can be told as Zakk Wylde, Jorne Lande and some Rammstein.
From the beginning it all started as a project, a reason for playing together. When Rawburt went in to the studio in south Sweden for the second time they were more formed as a band and after the studio work, sows were played around in Sweden. Two music videos were done, "In For The Kill" and "Too Numb To Run" and both is to be found in high resolution quality on you tube.
Future goals for Rawburt and the main reason for the excist is to reach out, play live, and release records. Rawburt IS a live band and should there for be experienced live, it's well over 1,5 ours live with real heavy hard rock, coarsely ground guitars, heavily distorted bass and with a clear melodic streak and all the visual ingredients.
Quotes:
"Based just outside Gothenburg, guitar player Robert Hansson has been delivering melodic hard rock in various forms for many years. He's now back and biting! It seems to me like Robert and the band has turned heavier over the years, just hear "In For The Kill", and you'll see what I mean. To me this is a bit too heavy, I have to say. But there's no mistake about the quality! /Ola Granshagen"
"Stefano does a killer job! In the verse of "Burning", he actually reminds me a bit of Jorn Lande. And holy crap, that song has some devastatingly heavy riffs! The cool thing is that the verses are really smooth. I don't know what band to really compare to, it's more that Rawburt (not so convinced when it comes to the band name though..) has picked some bits and pieces from here and there. The songs aren't complicated or extremely unique, BUT holy crap - they ROCK / Janne Stark"
"The great thing about the album is that it's a varied solid album that will please fans of all rock genres. 'Not Blaming You' is awesome, melodic and catchy with a huge chorus. 'Born Again' slays, abrasive Priest/Zakk Wylde style guitar work and forceful high powered vocals give the song (vocally) a Jorne, Joe Lynn Turner edge with the track as a whole having a (musically) Primal Fear, Malmsteen vibe. The charging 'United We Become' has the same energetic power, especially vocally. Screaming guitars with fabulous melodic hooks, this is a great song, strong Dokken/Malmsteen vibe. Other songs like 'Life's a Mystery', keep the melodic edge but add a heavier progressive end, I'd imagine this song because of its moody dark textures would smoke live. Rawburt deliver a strong diverse album with a solid production sound that holds up all the way through with very little to find fault with, 'Musketeer' sounds creative and full of energy, a good quality release - Nicky"
