Minerals - stream the album at Progstreaming!

“White Tones”, the debut album by one of the most promising alternative rock bands from Poland – Minerals was released in early June and contains 12 eclectic tracks combining the best of alternative and rock music. It’s a must have for fans of Radiohead and Coldplay, but also for all supporters of rock and alternative sounds! And today you can stream the whole album for free at Progstreaming website. The album will be available for the next three weeks in THIS location.

The band was formed in Warsaw, Poland in 2009 and just a year later appeared on  radio playlists thanks to their debut single "Hearts & The Sea". Today they return with a full-length studio album. The debut material is full of unique compositions, detailed yet profound guitars and characteristic vocals. As the band say, alternative British rock scene seems to be the closest to what they create in terms of the style and the overall atmosphere. The title of their debut album is taken from the song "White Tones", which includes everything significant for Minerals - seamless transition from contrasting climates, led by the warm voice of the front man.

Ordinary Brainwash - see "Stay Foolish" video

"ME2.0", the third studio album by Ordinary Brainwash, was released in early June. And today you can see the promo video to the track "Stay Foolish". The video is available on Metal Mind Productions' official channel on YouTube in THIS location.

Ordinary Brainwash is a post-prog mixture of beautiful melodies, original lyrics and startling compositions which should appeal to fans of such bands as Porcupine Tree, No-Man, Chroma Key or Gazpacho. Unlike the albums of the aforementioned bands, the album "Me 2.0" was written and performed by one man only. The man behind this project is Rafal Zak, a 23-year-old student of the prestigious Warsaw School of Economics. He is a composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist who expresses himself by translating his mind's creative flow into the music he composes. Ordinary Brainwash had its official debut during Piotr Kaczkowski's Minimax radio show in March 2008. The debut album entitled "Disorder in My Head" was released in December 2009 via Lynx Music. Within less than a year from the release of his debut album, Ordinary Brainwash came back in October 2010 with its successor - "Labeled Out Loud". Over the last few months, Ordinary Brainwash worked hard on a brand new concept album entitled "ME 2.0". The album is promoted by the track "Outdated". Rafał Żak comments: "'Outdated' is the opening song for the new album and, apart from its obvious role, which is to let the listener enter smoothly into the world of 'ME 2.0', it also gives an idea of what you can expect from the album as a whole. It will be melancholic and quiet, but sometimes also very hard and with an edge. It seems to me that 'Outdated' shows the diversity of emotions and, at the same time, the consistency of the music and lyrics on this album. During these 6 minutes, the song lets the listener immerse themselves in the atmosphere, which I hope will not leave them till the last notes of 'ME 2.0'."

Indie Rock Band This Is She, Release Debut EP Nobody Is Ok, July 3rd Featuring the powerful single "Grow Up"

June 21, 2012 (Los Angeles, CA) – This Is She is about to turn lives upside down with the release of their new 6-song EP, Nobody Is Ok, gigs at mega events like Summerfest, a performance with Cobra Starship later this year and the release of their video for the single "Grow Up". With success biting at their heels, This Is She steps outside the box of typical indie rock to deliver catchy hooks, driving rhythms and to create progressive rock n' roll laced with pop, dubstep and electronica. This Is She is set to present their Nobody Is OkEP to the rest of the world, available on iTunes July 3rd.

This Is She ensued when Alana Grace (vocals), Ryan Folden (drums) and Christian Paul Meadows (guitar) met while performing at Warped Tour 2009. Alana Grace began materializing the idea behind her next musical venture and enlisted Folden and Meadows to pursue the new vision to eventually become This Is She. The trio stepped away from the traditional aspects of an indie rock band tapping into the dark side of rock incorporating a passion for dubstep and electronica to create a style all their own. This Is She relishes in their unique, unparalleled sound and the inability to neatly fit into any genre. The band delivers a blend of blissful pop, heavily-distorted rock music, and the bombast of modern electronic dance music, all punctuated by Grace's tortured, emotive, and always-soaring vocals.

This ultramodern rock n' roll trio flawlessly delivers with their new single and video "Grow Up". The song highlights Grace's vocal elegance while morphing the powerful hard rock guitar riffs into memorizing and intense dubstep and electronica samples. The inspiration behind "Grow Up" is a derivative from Grace's personal life and an old relationship. Pulling from inner emotions Grace delivers with piercing vocals and hypnotizing harmonies.

In 2011 the group was hard at work producing, writing and recording Nobody is Ok at their own studio and at Blackbird Studios in Nashville. This highly anticipated release of Nobody Is Ok EP is the perfect introductory to give the world a taste of This Is She, available July 3rd.

Believe - photo by Slav Haratym

Believe, one of the most interesting and original bands on the Polish art/prog-rock scene! The band formed in 2004 by guitarist Mirek Gil, should be known already by fans of Polish prog-rock legend Collage and Satellite. Not only was Mirek a founding member and main song writer of Collage, but he played with Satellite as well.  The band's debut album "Hope to See Another Day" was released in 2006, six years later Believe return with their second live DVD entitled "Seeing is Believing". Filmed in 2011 in Wyspiański Theater in Katowice (Poland), this brand new DVD documents how much the band has changed: Believe released two more excellent studio albums, letting their music grow more brilliantly intricate and sublime than ever before; Tomek Różycki was substituted by the charismatic singer Karol Wróblewski, whose deep and distinctive voice contributes much to the style and mood of Believe's music; the new keyboard player Konrad Wantrych joined their ranks, enriching their music with his stylish and technically superb soundscapes. During this unique evening in Wyspiański Theater Believe primarily presented material from their fourth, most recent studio album „World Is Round" (Metal Mind Productions, 2010). With the release of "Seeing Is Believing" DVD, the band prove they also came to excel as a live act, giving an outstanding performance which will surely be remembered by all the fans that had a chance to see and hear them on that magical evening.

In Autumn 2012 Believe will play several gigs around Europe. They are confirmed to play at the Progressive Promotion Festival 2012 in Germany or at Summer's End Festival in UK. More info on tour to follow soon.

Will Wallner & Vivien Vain reveal cover artwork and tracklist of their debut album

As recently announced Metal Mind Productions will release in Europe the debut album by Los Angeles based hard rock artists Will Wallner (guitars) & Vivien Vain (vocals). Released in February, the self-titled album has been available so far only via the Artists’ official website. Now, with its official release, it has a new title - “Rising” - and new cover artwork.

The artwork was prepared by Polish graphic designers: Oliwia Piotrowska and Jarosław Wieczorek.

The material features guest musicians including Carmine Appice (Vanilla Fudge, Ted Nuggent), Vinny Appice (Dio, Black Sabbath, Heaven&Hell), Brian Tichy (Whitesnake, Billy Idol, Ozzy Osbourne), Rudy Sarzo (Quiet Riot, Ozzy Osbourne, Whitesnake), Tony Franklin (Roy Harper, Jimmy Page, Tony MacAlpine), Jimmy Bain (Rainbow, Dio), Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater, Black Country Communion, Alice Cooper, Kiss) and Tony Carey (Rainbow). The album was recorded in Los Angeles throughout 2011 and mixed by Gary Tole in New York. Mastering was completed in September 2011 by Graham Goldman at Masterdisk.
Here is the album tracklist:

1. The Dream
2. Dreamstealer
3. Streets of Rage
4. Fourteen Twenty Eight
5. All That I Want
6. Miles Ahead
7. Soul Monster
8. Rising
9. Indestructible

Will Wallner and Vivien Vain came to America from Europe. Upon meeting each other, they discovered they shared similar musical tastes and began writing songs together. The concept for their music was to write hard rock songs they could be proud of as artists while ignoring contemporary trends. After a year of performing in Los Angeles, they had a chance meeting with Carmine Appice and Vinny Appice at the Rainbow Bar & Grill on the Sunset Strip in 2010. Having heard demo versions of Wallner/Vain songs, the Appice brothers agreed to play the drums on their debut album. Since that first meeting, the project evolved and came to feature several other guest session musicians with Will Wallner and Vivien Vain handling all guitars and vocals respectively. Their debut release features nine original songs written and produced by Wallner/Vain.

The European release of “Rising” is set for October, 8th 2012.

Marillion - "Sounds That Can’t Be Made"

Often referred to as the leaders of the neo-progressive movement of the early 80s... Marillion is way more than that. Album after album Marillion have showed everybody that to relate their name only to Keyleigh and the 7 millions seller album "Misplaced Childhood" would be only considering a small part of their long history. During their 30 years long career, their sound became stronger and deeper album by album, renewing tour after tour a relationship with one of the most loyal fanbase in rock and roll history.

The always-mentioned Genesis are part of the Marillion "audio cocktail" as much as Radiohead or hard rock is. Ask each member of the band, and you´d probably receive complete different answers. It´s the union of these strong and different personalities that make the sound of Marillion.

The British band have created a world of their own, they have fought and won the fight for artistic independence with deeply-moving music and the long-standing reputation for blistering live shows which have earned them an impressive and faithful global fanbase.

Lead singer Steve Hogarth, guitarist Steve Rothery, keyboardist Mark Kelly, bassist Pete Trewavas and drummer Ian Mosley, have enjoyed a rich and successful career with 16 studio albums and over 20 UK-Top 40 hits. Classic Rock magazine referred to them as "A National Treasure".

Throughout their 30 years career, the band has consistently dodged categorization by crafting distinct, evocative music.

The product

Song titles (not final running order)
- Gaza
- Invisible Ink
- Sounds That Can't Be Made
- The Sky Above The Rain
- Montreal
- Pour My Love
- Lucky Man
- Power

With "Sounds That Can't Be Made", Marillion continue their successful musical journey. The 17th studio album is as soulful and powerful as ever.

Recorded at Racket studio in England, the albums echoes the great layered sound of albums like "Marbles" and "Afraid of Sunlight", all that Marillion fans hope to hear on a new record. Songs like Gaza and Montreal would show once more, than epic progressive songwriting can speak the musical language of the new millennium. "Power" and "Lucky Man" remind us all that pop-rock music can also be powerful and deep.
The new album cover has been designed by Simon Ward while the booklet will feature the contribution of artists Antonio Seijas, Andy Wright, Carl Glover, Marc Bessant and photographs taken from onboard the International Space Station!

"Sounds That Can't Be Made" will be released in Europe on September 14th, 2012. The band will perform a string of gigs in North and South America as well as all over Europe in 2012 and 2013.

Progressive Rock & Progressive Metal - E-Zine

A festival that celebrates the historical interaction between the genres of classical Experimental Music and Progressive Rock since their beginning and into the 21st century.

AUGUST 10-12 at SPECTRUM, 121
LUDLOW STREET, NEW YORK CITY
Spectrum, a recently-opened new-music performance venue in NYC's Lower East Side, presents the NYX Festival: Three days of music where Experimentalism and Prog Rock merge. Since the last century, these two genres have shared a number of key features: the free use of emerging technologies by way of synthesizers & electronics, ambitious musical structures, asymmetric time signatures and, notably, virtuosic performance involving "traditionally-amplified" electric guitars and their kin as well as traditionally-acoustic instruments such as piano. The NYX Festival has a line-up of highly-talented and exciting musicians from NYC and elsewhere. This will be an enjoyable, envelope-expanding experience for participants, both audience and performers alike.

DOCTOR NERVE Storms the Stage at PROGDAY 2012!

DOCTOR NERVE Storms the Stage at PROGDAY 2012!

"Stravinsky meets Zappa and they're both on acid... Triple dose!"
- Lizzy, PROGARCHIVES

"The band is tightly focused on mixing the combined heritages of Zappa's dadaist facet, Henry Cow, 20th Century chamber, psychedelia, free jazz and near-punkish rock with a strongly wicked twist. ...their sound is ballsier and more energetic than many current mainstream rock bands...It's also not listener-friendly, but listener-defying: this music stands in front of the listener and defies them to stay calm and loyal to his aesthetic criteria or join it in search of new, unnamable experiences. ...The guitar/bass/drum set is very solidly traced on the tracks of punchy rock, while the remaining instruments (reeds, vibes) display a neurotic orchestral amalgam which brings us memories of Zappa's most bizarre passages of his early 70s albums...Are you a RIO-or-Zheul freak? If so, did you ever wonder how Henry Cow would have been like during this post-grunge era of rock? Or did you ever wonder how Ruins would be like if they had less vocals and more instruments? Pick this or any other Doctor Nerve item and you'll be in awe of what you'll find...sheer weird excellence." - Cesar Inca, PROGARCHIVES

DOCTOR NERVE has been annihilating the boundaries between metal, contemporary music, and improvisation since 1984.  The band's repertoire includes tightly composed, complex, fast-changing music, and is executed by a white-hot team of musicians, each of whom have carved out their own niches in New York City's new music scene. An often requested band among ProgDay fans of music's more experimental side, ProgDay is pleased to offer a blistering set by a band that has cut a singular trail in the world of contemporary music.

DOCTOR NERVE will join Accordo Dei Contrari (Italy), Birdsongs Of The Mesozoic (US), Karcius (Canada), Ephemeral Sun (US) and Consider The Source (US) at ProgDay 2012, the 18th edition of the longest running progressive rock festival in the world.  ProgDay 2012 will take place on Saturday, September 1st, and Sunday, September 2nd, at Storybook Farm in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

SHADOW CIRCUS Sign with 10T Records for “On a Dark and Stormy Night”

10T Records is thrilled to announce the signing of SHADOW CIRCUS for the release of their upcoming full length concept CD, entitled On a Dark and Stormy Night, in late Summer 2012. On a Dark and Stormy Night is based on the Newberry Award-winning science fiction fantasy classic, A Wrinkle in Time, by Madeleine L'Engle, and is being released with the full cooperation of the L'Engle estate as it coincides with the 50th anniversary of the original publication of the book. On a Dark and Stormy Night is a progressive rock tour-de-force that finds the band's creative scope widening, including elements of cinematic orchestral arrangements, classic Progressive Rock, Celtic music, and Metal.

Hailing from the New York City area, Shadow Circus began as an experiment by composer/guitarist John Fontana to pursue his passion for Progressive Rock. John was joined by longtime friend and vocalist, David Bobick, whose background in musical theater was a perfect match for John's vision of a band that was as entertaining to watch on stage, as it was to listen to. Christening themselves with a name inspired by a fictional carnival from Ray Bradbury's Something Wicked This Way Comes, Shadow Circus was born.

2006 saw the release of their debut CD, Welcome to the Freakroom, and earned the band a following and reputation as a theatrical and entertaining group with solid songwriting and impressive musicianship. But it was 2009′s Whispers and Screams that solidified Shadow Circus as a band to be watched, earning them their first appearance in 2010′s ProgDay festival, and numerous live appearances at B.B. King's in New York City, the legendary Orion Studios in Baltimore, and The Magic Room in Boston. Continuing with their penchant for literary influences, this second release featured a song that recalls a famous episode of The Twilight Zone, and an epic suite lyrically inspired by Stephen King's dark fantasy masterpiece, The Stand.

The music of the 2012 edition of Shadow Circus continues to draw on strongly emotional and literary themes in the context of a highly entertaining ensemble, recalling some of the flavors which are staples to the Progressive Rock sound, while challenging typical expectations of this genre with elements that are at once symphonic, cinematic, soulful, melodic, and, most importantly, rocking. Energized by a lineup featuring the return of original bassist/cellist Matt Masek, drummer Jason Brower, and David Silver on keyboards, the band is currently in the studio recording On a Dark and Stormy Night.

"Shadow Circus is extremely excited to begin what we think will be a long and fruitful partnership with 10T Records, a label that we admire for its integrity, and value of quality over quantity," says John. "We are honored to join 10T's roster of outstanding artists, whose music we have enjoyed and been inspired by."

"John and I have been friends for a few years and it feels like it was destined that we would eventually work together," says 10T Records president, Steve Carroll. "I was blown away by Whispers and Screams, but after seeing their amazing performance at ProgDay in 2010, I knew that the time was right for a partnership. We couldn't possibly be any happier to be bringing "On a Dark and Stormy Night" to the world in just a few months."

In the meantime, Shadow Circus' second release, Whispers and Screams, is now available for purchase through the 10T Records online store for immediate shipping worldwide.

MULTI-PLATINUM ROCKERS DROWNING POOL ANNOUNCE JASEN MORENO AS NEW SINGER

Dallas, TX - All-American anthemic rockers Drowning Pool have confirmed, after much speculation, that fellow Texan Jasen Moreno is their new lead singer. Moreno, who is currently on tour with the band, joined Drowning Pool early this Spring, following the departure of their former lead singer. In an exclusive interview in the September 2012 issue of Guitar World magazine, guitarist C.J. Pierce explains, "Jasen came up in the same Dallas scene as us... We brought him in to sing, and he nailed it."

Moreno said, "I am extremely happy and very grateful to be a part of the Drowning Pool family. Everyone's been so welcoming, especially the fans. I can't praise them enough. They've made me feel right at home. This first run of live shows couldn't have gone any better!"

Pierce adds, "It's been a pleasure working with Jasen. He's everything we hoped for in a singer and he jumped right in, stepped up to the plate and got straight to work. Jasen has brought not only a new voice but a new fire to the Drowning Pool sound and we can't wait to share the new music with everyone."

Drowning Pool turned the world into believers with their breakthrough single "Bodies" in 2001. Ten years, four singers and four albums later, they're giving fans a new reason to believe.  "Feel Like I Do," the lead single from their self-titled fourth studio release [Eleven Seven Music], became the band's biggest radio hit to date, reaching No. 2 at Active Rock Radio, and remaining in the Top 5 for 12-weeks.  With 2009's "37 Stitches" off of Full Circle reaching #4 at Active Rock and "Feel Like I Do," the band had 2 consecutive Top 5 Active Rock smashes and cemented their place as one of the top hard rock acts today. The band's sophomore album, Desensitized with second singer Jason Jones spawned a Top 10 hit with "Step Up." Recent successes have paved the way for unique opportunities such as presenting the Lane Evans Mental Health Care Reform to then-senator Barack Obama on Capitol Hill, performing for our troops all over the world and partnering with organizations like The Wounded Warrior Project and the G.I. Film Festival.

Drowning Pool's fifth album and their first with Moreno is due out early 2013. The band teamed up with producer Kato Khandwalla at House of Loud Studios in New Jersey earlier this year, and will be finishing the album in Dallas.

Drowning pool is C.J. Pierce - guitar/ vocals, Stevie Benton - bass/vocals, Mike Luce - drums/vocals and Jasen Moreno/vocals.

Ordinary Brainwash available to stream at Progstreaming!

"ME2.0", the third studio album by the project Ordinary Brainwash, was released in Europe in early June (July, 10th in USA). And today you can stream the whole album for free at Progstreaming website. The album will be available for the next couple of weeks at THIS location.

Within less than a year from the release of his debut album, Ordinary Brainwash came back in October 2010with its successor - "Labeled Out Loud".

Wardrum return with their brand new opus "Desolation"

Back 1 year after their debut, Greek heavy / power metal act Wardrum return with their brand new opus "Desolation" via Steel Gallery Records on 15th April 2012.

Taking a step onwards from their debut 'Spadework', Wardrum have produced an even more powerful sound that manages to retain the melodies and technicality of its critically acclaimed predecessor. 'Desolation' also marks the first album recorded with their new singer, Yannis Papadopoulos (Until Rain), who also lives in Thessaloniki and has brought stability to the band's working timetable, not to mention presenting a new dimension to the lyricism heard on the new album.

Wardrum started working on their new album right after "Spadework" was released. Pre-production took place in October 2011, final adjustments were made and full recordings took place during the period of November 2011/February 2012. With "Desolation" the band delivers once again strong songs, catchy choruses, melodic guitar solos and a technical rhythm section, highly establishing the band's skills and songwriting abilities. The album was produced again by Kostas Scandalis and released by Steel Gallery Records, while the Cover artwork is a work of Piotr Szafraniec especially for Wardrum.

PRESS:

"Keeping up the speed of their really nice debut, released last year (2 albums in 2 years, that's rare for a Greek band), Wardrum return with the same main body, the three members of the "Gods" Horizon's End, delivering their insight as well as their composing know how and a new singer Yannis Papadopoulos (Until Rain, Crosswind) giving his inspiring, marvelous, melodic vocal lines as a Greek color among the solid U.S. Power musical a la Crimson Glory, Jag Panzer, Vicious Rumors and Destiny's End foundation. The Guitar is suitable for  a seminar, the production is great and the songs stick in your mind right from the first listening. A Champions League team." Giorgos Ketigenis 8/10 – Metal Hammer (Greece)

"I already have put it in my top 10 list of the Greek Metal albums and I am sure that in the years to come this masterpiece will be mentioned as a classic release for the Greek Metal scene. Of course with albums like this the Greek frontiers are already broken for Wardrum and a slot among the great Power / Prog bands worldwide is open for them. I haven't got nothing else to write. I will simply press the play button once again and dive into "Desolation".
Chris Countraven  – The Forgotten Scroll Webzine

"I'd like to kneel down and pray to the gods of Metal to bring out more pieces like this in the future! The sound quality is very good what does increase my appreciation for Wardrum's new effort "Desolation" even more.  Sterfan – Metal To Infinity Webzine

Lumus - Bacchus' Curse - 'One of our favourite TSM releases'

'Bacchus Curse' is one of our favourite release here at TSM. This CD is hugely enjoyable and features twelve new tracks. The band are from Portland and play dark symphonic /progressive neo-classical music not that far away from Epica, Dream Theater and After Forever. This album has all the fundamentals I like about this style of music and it's an album that strikes that chord with me for its rich diversity, fun energy and passion, it's one of those album that lulls you in from the first play, an album of epic creations that you will just get lost in.

A lot of care and attention has gone into the creation of the album, especially with the crisp slick production and eye-catching artwork. 'Bacchus Curse' has all the hallmarks that fans of
this style of music will fully enjoy.

Charlotte Von Camp has an amazingly diverse vocal range and guitarist Dustin Behm is up there with the best of them, his energy purrs along next to Jon Lumus and his excellent violin work. Drummer Jon Spencer and bassist Sean McLaughlin hold the dynamics together, the whole band gel and when you listen to the album there is a huge sense of chemistry between all band members, live I would imagine Lumus smoke!!! They are a band passionate about their craft.

There is so much to enjoy from this album, from the awesome 'Scales Of Justice', through to the four part 'Bacchus' Curse' we are treated to an album that is powerful, romantic and full of exciting thrilling music, I'm really excited about this band, they perform the songs with that ever so rare fire that blazes out of all members musical charms, musically it's all here, there is something for everyone to enjoy, 'Bacchus Curse' is one of those albums I can play
forever - enjoy folks!

Lumus is a Dark Symphonic Metal band from Portland, OR. Their music is heavy, dramatic, and melodically rich, while also paying great attention to storytelling. While the core of their music is a classical- metal pairing, they also draw frequently from progressive and world music to create their song and story. Their debut album Bacchus Curse shows a seamless blend of orchestral strings, with rich beautiful harmony underscored by heavy aggressive riffing and infectious offbeat rhythms.

Classic tales both fantastic and literary are told with top notch musicality and great dramatic flair.

Jon Lumus founded the band in late 2009 out of need to create darker, heavier music that still challenged his classical training and background. He put the word out on the internet and met drummer Joe Spencer, guitarist Dustin Behm, and bassist Sean McLaughlin in quick succession. Jazz vocalist Charlotte Camp completed the band in early 2011.
