Wardrum return with their brand new opus "Desolation"

Back 1 year after their debut, Greek heavy / power metal act Wardrum return with their brand new opus "Desolation" via Steel Gallery Records on 15th April 2012.

Taking a step onwards from their debut 'Spadework', Wardrum have produced an even more powerful sound that manages to retain the melodies and technicality of its critically acclaimed predecessor. 'Desolation' also marks the first album recorded with their new singer, Yannis Papadopoulos (Until Rain), who also lives in Thessaloniki and has brought stability to the band's working timetable, not to mention presenting a new dimension to the lyricism heard on the new album.

Wardrum started working on their new album right after "Spadework" was released. Pre-production took place in October 2011, final adjustments were made and full recordings took place during the period of November 2011/February 2012. With "Desolation" the band delivers once again strong songs, catchy choruses, melodic guitar solos and a technical rhythm section, highly establishing the band's skills and songwriting abilities. The album was produced again by Kostas Scandalis and released by Steel Gallery Records, while the Cover artwork is a work of Piotr Szafraniec especially for Wardrum.

PRESS:

"Keeping up the speed of their really nice debut, released last year (2 albums in 2 years, that's rare for a Greek band), Wardrum return with the same main body, the three members of the "Gods" Horizon's End, delivering their insight as well as their composing know how and a new singer Yannis Papadopoulos (Until Rain, Crosswind) giving his inspiring, marvelous, melodic vocal lines as a Greek color among the solid U.S. Power musical a la Crimson Glory, Jag Panzer, Vicious Rumors and Destiny's End foundation. The Guitar is suitable for  a seminar, the production is great and the songs stick in your mind right from the first listening. A Champions League team." Giorgos Ketigenis 8/10 – Metal Hammer (Greece)

"I already have put it in my top 10 list of the Greek Metal albums and I am sure that in the years to come this masterpiece will be mentioned as a classic release for the Greek Metal scene. Of course with albums like this the Greek frontiers are already broken for Wardrum and a slot among the great Power / Prog bands worldwide is open for them. I haven't got nothing else to write. I will simply press the play button once again and dive into "Desolation".
Chris Countraven  – The Forgotten Scroll Webzine

"I'd like to kneel down and pray to the gods of Metal to bring out more pieces like this in the future! The sound quality is very good what does increase my appreciation for Wardrum's new effort "Desolation" even more.  Sterfan – Metal To Infinity Webzine
