Musical innovator FELIX MARTIN announces new album; releases new video

Venezuelan musical innovator FELIX MARTIN
announces new album and releases new video

14/16 string Latin-prog-metal pioneer's new album Caracas released 12th April

Venezuelan-born progressive music innovator FELIX MARTIN has announced the release of new album Caracas on 12th April and unveiled the first video from the LP.

Check out new video 'La Vaca Mariposa (El Becerrito)' here: https://youtu.be/yQgXGormGng

FELIX MARTIN is an ambidextrous Venezuelan musician pioneering a new style of playing the electric guitar. With his self-designed 14 and 16-string guitars, Felix emulates playing two instruments as if they were one, creating a completely new sound of his own.

Caracas is a compilation of traditional Venezuelan songs and styles, fused with Felix's unique blend of progressive metal and Latin music. A kaleidoscope of musical ideas and concepts delivered with an instrumental approach, Felix and his band promise to achieve even greater notoriety in the progressive music community with this stunning release.

On the musical inspiration behind Caracas, Felix commented: "There are many sounds in Venezuelan / Latin music that can be easily fit into the progressive metal world, both styles make a lot of sense together. Learning traditional songs as a teenager taught me how to play the guitar using the tapping technique, so I wanted to go back to my roots and transform these songs into my current musical style.

Caracas reflects on Venezuelan music, culture and the protests against the governing dictatorship. Now based in Los Angeles, FELIX MARTIN is still an active protester against the Venezuelan government and uses progressive music as his form of expression.

Felix continues: "I started making this album in 2017 during the bloody protests in Venezuela. After I attended the protests and started touring again, I wanted to make something valuable to give my people hope, and export our great music for people who are not familiar with Latin music."

Musicians featured on Caracas are Victor Carracedo on drums and Javier Sepulveda on bass, and it was mixed and mastered by Adam Bentley of Arch Echo. All Berklee graduates including Felix, these top musicians challenge the concepts and ideas of traditional music as they continue to blur the defined genre lines.

Founding band member, guitarist and songwriter Bill Nelson and legendary producer John Leckie, who co-produced the album with Bill, are featured in a new documentary about the SUNBURST FINISH sessions. Filmed in York, England at Bill's residence, the documentary was researched & directed by Matt Bristow. Filmed & Edited by Mark J. Freeman (markjfreeman.co.uk) for Cherry Red Records.

Todd Rundgren's Utopia "Live At The Chicago Theatre" Blu-Ray/DVD/2 CD Set Available April 5th

aaaaa

Todd Rundgren's seminal prog-rock, power-pop band Utopia reunites onstage for the first time in 32 years!

After a thirty-year-plus hiatus, Todd Rundgren's Utopia graced the Chicago Theatre stage, with the hopes of promising fans an extraordinary, other-worldly concert experience. The original 70's-formed band established a stellar reputation for stretching the prog rock/pop envelope and infusing their mostly original material with verve and state-of-the-art technique. On this occasion the band featured Todd Rundgren, Kasim Sulton, Willie Wilcox and Gil Assayas.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Todd Rundgren began playing guitar as a teenager, going on to found and front Nazz, the quintessential 1960's psychedelic group. In 1969, he left the band to pursue a solo career, recording his debut offering, Runt. But it was 1972's seminal Something/Anything?, on which he played all the instruments, sang all the vocal parts, and acted as his own producer, that catapulted Todd into the superstar limelight, prompting the press to unanimously dub him 'Rock's New Wunderkind'. It was followed by such landmark LPs as A Wizard, A True Star and The Hermit of Mink Hollow, as well as such hit singles as "I Saw The Light, "Hello It's Me," "Can We Still Be Friends," and "Bang The Drum."

Rundgren has performed a diverse range of styles as a solo artist and as a member of the band Utopia. He is known for his sophisticated and often-unorthodox music, flamboyant stage outfits, and his later experiments with interactive entertainment. He also produced innovative music videos, pioneered forms of multimedia, and was an early adopter and promoter of various computer technologies.

This beautiful deluxe 4 disc digipack includes a Blu-Ray, DVD and 2 CDs. Look for the vinyl companion to be released in a gatefold jacket with 2 GREEN LPs on April 19!

BANCO DEL MUTUO SOCCORSO SIGNS WITH INSIDE OUT MUSIC;NEW ALBUM ‘TRANSIBERIANA’ RELEASED IN APRIL

NEW ALBUM 'TRANSIBERIANA' RELEASED IN APRIL

Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, the legendary Italian progressive rock band, is proud to announce the worldwide signing with Inside Out Music / Sony Music group. Their new record 'Transiberiana' will be the first studio album in 25 years and is scheduled to be released on April 26, 2019.

Thomas Waber of InsideOutMusic comments: "We are really honored to be working with one of the most legendary and important prog bands to have ever come out of Italy. There is a lot of history and I hope we can really help them on this new album!"

Founding member Vittorio Nocenzi states: "I'm happy after working such a long time on this new Banco del Mutuo Soccorso album for Inside Out. It fills me with joy and satisfaction as I was truly inspired from the very beginning! For too many years, the band was only dedicated to live performances, so it was about time we would go back to composing, playing and producing new stuff! By choosing the 'Transiberiana' concept for this new piece of work, there are two main issues I'd like to point out: first the new Banco line up consisting of great musicians and great people, secondly, the presence of my two sons in the project: Michelangelo co-writing the album and Mario Valerio, who took care of a marketing and communication strategy related to it. These two elements have been the best gifts I could possibly imagine to receive! And this is an extra motivation if ever needed to do my best for reaching our goals.
I can only wish fans will enjoy this incredible project and look forward to see them live when we will go out to perform the album and classic Banco-tracks around the globe with Filippo Marcheggiani (lead guitar), Nicola Di Già (rhythm guitar), Fabio Moresco (drums), Marco Capozi (bass), our singer Tony D'Alessio and myself!"

The last Banco del Mutuo Soccorso album, '13', was released back in 1994 and after all those years and the loss of two historical former members, the band is back to confirm its place in the international progressive music scene.

'Transiberiana' will feature the following track-listing:
1. Stelle sulla terra (6:06)
2. L'imprevisto (3:29)
3. La discesa dal treno (6:16)
4. L'assalto dei lupi (5:35)
5. Campi di Fragole (3:36)
6. Lo sciamano (4:01)
7. Eterna Transiberiana (6:20)
8. I ruderi del gulag (6:06)
9. Lasciando alle spalle (1:47)
10. Il grande bianco (6:33)
11. Oceano: Strade di sale (3:39)

Banco del Mutuo Soccorso (which translates to "Bank of Mutual Relief") were formed in Rome, Italy back in 1969 and under the influence of British greats Gentle Giant, Genesis, Jethro Tull and Emerson, Lake & Palmer forged a truly original sound equally complex, melodic and dynamic. In 2019, 'Transiberiana' will prove that this style is very much intact and creative mastermind Vittorio Nocenzi promises an "autobiographical journey" lyrically, musically and in terms of concept. 'Transiberiana' is not only an impressive new album by Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, but also reflects upon a storied career and redefines what the group is all about.

Banco del Mutuo Soccorso is:
Vittorio Nocenzi (piano, keyboards and voice)
Filippo Marcheggiani (guitar)
Nicola Di Già (rhythm guitar)
Marco Capozi (bass)
Fabio Moresco (drums)
Tony D'Alessio (lead vocal)

The Bucket List Featuring Phil Keaggy, Tony Levin & Jerry Marotta Release Debut Album

bc293f25-cd83-4558-9328-00c58f44ca23.jpg
The Bucket List is the collective effort of guitar extraordinaire Phil Keaggy, legendary bassist Tony Levin and rhythm master Jerry Marotta featuring 12 original instrumentals that showcase the strengths of these three musicians.

Having recorded over 60 albums since the late 1960's, Phil Keaggy is one of the most admired guitarists in the Contemporary Christian music world. Phil's talents have earned him two Grammy nominations as well as being a seven time recipient of the GMA Dove Award for Instrumental Album of the Year.

How many musicians can claim they recorded/toured with King Crimson, Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd, Yes, and let's not forget John Lennon? Bassist and Stick player Tony Levin can and that's barely scratching the surface of his musical biography. When Tony's not bouncing between King Crimson and Peter Gabriel, he's usually found on the road with The Stick Men.

For over a decade, Tony along with drummer Jerry Marotta were the rhythm section for the classic Peter Gabriel years. Jerry's unique percussion style has graced the music of Paul McCartney, Hall & Oats, Elvis Costello, The Indigo Girls and so many others. These days, Jerry never takes a break working with The Security Project, The Marotta Brothers Band, The Fragile Fate and Flav Martin.

The genesis of this super trio can be traced back over ten years ago when Phil, Tony and Jerry first met in Woodstock for an impromptu jam session that lead to a live show and a whole lot of improvisation left in the can. Over the years the material was revisited and reworked then left to age in the barrel a little longer.

Fast forward to 2018, the recordings are given a fresh breath of air plus added tracks to formulate a collection of actual songs. The end result is executive producer Paul Grimsland finally getting to tick off a box of his Bucket List. Like a fine wine, The Bucket List has been aged to perfection and is ready for consumption from an audience thirsting for this musical delight.

To kick off the release of The Bucket List, Phil, Tony and Jerry aka KLM have several very special shows planned to showcase the album. Don't miss KLM live in concert as this may be your only chance to cross these performances off your Bucket List.

Release Date: January 11, 2019

Lost Album By '80s Milwaukee Punk-Power-Pop Band Locate Your Lips is Finally Released!

15f60fc5-d90c-4cb2-95c1-d7a45cc3e6b1.jpg

Locate Your Lips "For Kenny" World Release April 5th, 2019

During the mid-1980s Locate Your Lips made some of the most adventurous music heard in Milwaukee. They were a powerful trio but not a power trio in the classic rock sense. Built around the jazz-schooled yet rock ready drumming of Kenny Baldwin, the empathetic accompaniment of bassist Andy Cavaluzzi and fiery guitar playing by (ex - Shivvers guitarist) Jim Eannelli, Locate Your Lips emerged from the city's punk rock scene—Kenny owned the Starship club that became its Downtown mecca—but was not confined by it. With the energy of punk and the sophistication of jazz and progressive rock Locate Your Lips broke ground and left audiences unable to pigeonhole them.

Working with tapes left from a live broadcast on WQFM and a previously unreleased album length studio recording, Jim Eannelli produced a Locate Your Lips album to be released in April, 2019. There was so much material that the project became a double CD with no slack moments.

A pre-release show on January 5th was the first chance to hear this batch of songs and performances that remain timeless—as riveting today as they were in 1985. The listening party, an overwhelmingly successful event, was a memorable night of fellowship where participants spoke about the life of Kenny Baldwin (who passed away from cancer in 2015).

Happy Growl Records will unveil the official world-wide release of the 2-CD set on April 5th, 2019 for both physical and digital product.

Since the band's return to live performance in 2014, with critically acclaimed sell-out shows all over the world including two defining shows at the Roman amphitheatre in Pompeii, the audience has been reinvented, as much as the band itself:

"In Pompeii, a large percentage of the audience was young couples; KC moved into the mainstream in Italy. I walked onstage knowing that this band's position in the world has changed level." Robert Fripp

07862685-18a5-4505-8426-b0adc4822f42.jpg

The band's packed three-hour shows regularly include material from twelve of their thirteen studio albums, including many of the songs from their seminal 1969 album In The Court of the Crimson King, described by Pete Townshend, as an "uncanny masterpiece". The new 8-piece line-up plays many historic pieces which Crimson have never played live, as well as new arrangements of Crimson classics – "the music is new whenever it was written". There are also new instrumentals and songs, as well as the compositions by the three drummers, Pat Mastelotto, Gavin Harrison and Jeremy Stacey, which are a regular highlight. A unique show, where eight of the best musicians in the world play music without distraction or adornment.

Physical music releases include:

ROBERT FRIPP, though best known for his work in King Crimson, has contributed to numerous albums by players as diverse as Brian Eno, David Bowie, Peter Gabriel, Blondie, Talking Heads, Daryl Hall, The Roches, Peter Hammill, Keith Tippett, David Sylvian, The Orb, and The Grid. His 1979 solo album, Exposure was described as "the Sergeant Pepper of avant punk." He has appeared twice in Rolling Stonemagazine's 100 Greatest Guitarist Of All Time poll, although Fripp claims these are likely to have been mistakes by the typesetter.

TONY LEVIN has been a member of King Crimson since 1981.  Internationally renowned and constantly in-demand for his distinctive bass work, he also tours with Peter Gabriel with whom he has worked since 1977. He has appeared on albums by Paul Simon, John Lennon, David Bowie and countless others and recently formed his own band, Stick Men alongside Crimson drummer, Pat Mastelotto.

JAKKO JAKSZYK was a member of Level 42, before working with Mel Collins as part of ex-KC alumni group, 21st Century Schizoid Band between 2002 - 2004. His solo album, The Bruised Romantic Glee Club (2006) was his first recorded collaboration with Fripp, followed by A Scarcity of Miracles in 2011. An acclaimed producer in his own right, Jakszyk has recently mixed Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson's UK Top 20 album, Homo Erraticus.
.
MEL COLLINS was previously a member of King Crimson 1970 - 1972 appearing on In The Wake Of Poseidon (1970), Lizard (1970), Islands (1971), Earthbound (1972) as well as a guest appearance on Red (1974), the final King Crimson album of the 1970s. He subsequently worked with The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd's Roger Waters, Dire Straits, Eric Clapton and many others, before returning to King Crimson in 2014.

GAVIN HARRISON joined King Crimson in 2007, playing a series of dates in the USA the following year. A respected author and tutor, he has also recorded three albums with The Pineapple Thief, though Harrison is probably best-known for his work with Porcupine Tree. Modern Drummer magazine placed him in their Top 50 Drummers Of All Time.

PAT MASTELOTTO joined King Crimson in 1994 after working with Robert Fripp and David Sylvian. A member of the hugely successful American 1980s group and MTV favourites, Mr. Mister, he is at home in both experimental music working with KTU as well as pop and rock appearing on albums by The Rembrandts, Hall And Oates and XTC.

JEREMY STACEY is a British drummer. His early work included the 1990s band, The Lemon Trees (with twin brother Paul Stacey on guitars, Guy Chambers and others) and Denzil. He has also played with Sheryl Crow, the Finn Brothers, Nick Harper, Noel Gallagher, and many more. On March 7, 2016, it was announced that he would be taking the place of Bill Rieflin as the centre drummer on the 2016 King Crimson European tour, a position he retained even after Rieflin's return to the band.

BILL RIEFLIN is a multi-instrumentalist but is primarily known for his drumming with Ministry and industrial rock outfit KMFDM. From 2003 until their dissolution in 2011 he played drums with REM. He recorded with Robert Fripp on Birth Of A Giant and The Repercussions Of Angelic Behaviour (both 1999) and most recently in the ambient super-group, Slow Music in 2006 and 2014.

Prog Ensemble Kinetic Element To Release Third Album “The Face of Life” February 28, 2019!

405edaef-e814-41fe-a160-0ce52175c2af.jpg

Kinetic Element, a band based in Richmond, Virgina (USA) that finally made a mark in the prog world in its tenth year in 2016 by performing at ROSfest and Terra Incognita, and in 2017 at Progtoberfest, has been through some changes in the last couple of years. Sporting a new guitarist and vocalist, and venturing into vinyl for the first time, they composed and recorded their third studio album, "The Face of Life," during 2017 and 2018. The band, founded and led by veteran multi-keyboardist Mike Visaggio, after breaking into the genre with their first album "Powered by Light" in 2009, garnered acclaim from around the progressive rock universe with their 2015 release of their second band album, "Travelog." They began becoming known for their epic pieces, containing spiritually uplifting lyrics and symphonic style arrangements following in the footsteps of the founders of the style like Yes and Genesis, as have other great bands like Transatlantic, Knight Area, Frost, Also Eden, and others like them. Reviewers have said that while they can clearly hear the influences, Kinetic Element has molded them into something uniquely their own.

Working alongside Mike is his longtime friend and fellow traveler, drummer Michael Murray, who undertook engineer duties with the recording of "Travelog," Polish-born bassist extraordinaire Mark Tupko, vocalist Saint John Coleman, and their newest member, Los Angeles-based Peter Matuchniak (who replaced a great player in Todd Russell who left the band after Progtoberfest in 2017). Peter brings with him a world of prog experience, having been with the Gekko Project, The Steppes, and his latest project Bomber Goggles, and some name recognition that can only help the band's profile. His playing has given KE a change in style but the overall sound is still clearly that of KE. "The Face of Life" gets its guitar parts via file sharing, but they are so organically composed and played that they sound as if they are all in the same room. Mike, of course, has been the heart and soul of this project for thirteen years and Michael has been with him for twelve of those. Mark came on board early in 2014, Saint John in 2016 after the festivals, and Peter has really rounded them out sonically and with another talent for the recording process. Saint John's presence gives the band their first true full time lead vocalist. He had been playing with prog cover band DEJA in the Tidewater region of Virginia, and he says coming to KE has given him back his musical soul.

Mike has been the principal composer, and he is very tuned in not only to the ingredients that make up symphonic prog, but lyrically has been interested in spiritual themes (he's a Christian who doesn't fit the mold) and observations on the state of the world and the human condition. Somehow sci-fi lyrics have eluded him, but he's managed to make an eternity-based worldview into something everybody can relate to. One of the new pieces was co-written with former member Todd, but the rest of "The Face of Life" is all his. Of course the arrangements were done with the whole band. Early indications are that this new work will be received as warmly as was "Travelog."

Mike discusses the writing of "The Face of Life": "After recording All Open Eyes with Todd and then losing him, Peter re-did all Todd's guitar tracks. Our next piece was the third on the album, 'The Face of Life,' which evolved from a shorter song I wrote in 2015, and a melody theme I had written a year previously, which we mashed together successfully. Peter really made his mark on the band with his tracks on this song. 'Like All Open Eyes,' one idea led to another and next thing we knew we had yet another epic. The first song on the album is 'Epistle,' which originated as a blues song believe it or not, and is now a 'prog' blues/rock song. We reined it in from becoming another epic. It's more of a classic rock song with prog leanings. We actually got that arranged and captured in three sessions because everything was so straightforward. Of course the overdubs took a bit of time. We also had a moment of humor when I sang 'Ghost Riders In the Sky' during the solos and we left it in, but now that I look at it, it actually has something to say about the human condition that the song's lyrics are about. 'Last Words,' the final song, I wrote back in the 1970s and somehow it was nagging at me from the back of my mind to see how it would fit. And I got this idea to do the first verse as a string quartet which sound is a preset on the new synth I had bought. So we now have something totally out of left field. We recorded the quartet as three tracks (cello, two violas and violin). We sent all of it off to the Glass Hammer guys and we had a bit of difficulty getting it right but the month of November, while a bit torturous sending files back and forth with them, finally produced a great mix. They were so courteous and helpful!"

Kinetic Element is already working on more pieces so as to follow up "The Face of Life" with another record dealing with the Apollo man on the moon project in a much more timely manner than in the past. It is their intention to get Peter more involved in contributing pieces. The band is all older men, and they are sensing the brevity and bittersweetness of life. "The Face of Life" will bring you "face to face" with that reality in a way that will leave your progressive rock itch thoroughly scratched, your soul lightened and your heart touched.

Richard Wright & Dave Harris – Zee “Identity” Deluxe Box Set Now Available For Pre-order

913ed56b-f335-4edf-8b02-578df22eec85.jpg
Zee feat. Pink Floyd's Rick Wright & Fashion's Dave Harris "Identity" Deluxe Box Set Includes
Signed Remastered CDs & Posters

London - One of the most intriguing pop music partnerships of the eighties makes it's return – RICK WRIGHT, one of the founder members of PINK FLOYD and who played keyboards on their multi-million selling albums joined forces with DAVE (formerly DEE) HARRIS, best known to music fans as the former singer and guitarist with electro-funk band Fashion. The two, collectively known as ZEE's version of their album, IDENTITY is to be released this year. The album which was recorded at Wright's home studio and Utopia Studios in North London in 82 / 83, utilizes the Fairlight Computer, which has the ability to recreate the sound of any musical instrument.

The new partnership was born out of a Greek holiday that Rick Wright had in 1981. It was there that he met Raf Ravenscroft the well-known saxophonist session musician whose playing graced Gerry Rafferty's huge hit "Baker Street."

"Raf was interested in forming a band, and we got talking in the way musicians do," Rick said. "When we got back to England we met again, along with several other musicians, including Dave Harris. We had some rehearsal time at a studio in Battersea but we weren't getting anywhere, mainly because no one had any material."

At that time Dave Harris has just left Fashion – "I supposed you could put it down to the usual 'musical differences' – and was looking for fresh ideas. My decision to leave Fashion was good for both the band and myself, but I really needed to work with someone so that we could bounce ideas of each other," Dave says. "It became more and more obvious that Rick and I would work well together, and eventually that is what happened. The other guys who had been initially involved understood that too, and in the end it was Rick and myself writing together."

Rick and Dave started working on the "Identity" album as far back as September 1982, initially at Rick's small studio in the country, before moving on to Utopia six months later to do the overdubs. Unfortunately certain legal problems had to be ironed out first – and then there was also the question of mastering the Fairlight: "We spent hours and hours just experimenting with it at first," Rick recalled. "The great thing about the Fairlight is that every time you go back to it you learn something else. We had to get control over it though because it would have been very easy just to have ended up making funny noises. We spent several weeks sequencing and scripting everything but it was all worth it in the end."

He added "For me it is exciting working with Dave because there were things that he was doing that I had not done before and vice versa. I think that Zee has given us musical opportunities that quite frankly neither of us were able to explore in our previous groups."

Dave Harris says, "When we started recording it, we didn't have any pre-conceived ideas of how it should be done, and we certainly didn't try to create a sound. The whole thing just evolved quite naturally. There will probably be a lot of Pink Floyd fans interested in what Rick had been doing, and equally I'm sure that a lot of Fashion's followers will want to know what I've been up to."

Finally Zee is getting the deluxe treatment so many other seminal back catalogue releases have had done.

Devin comments: "After a year of intensive recording, mixing, and reflection, I have decided where I want to take the next level of my career as a live performer. I have had success and great memories from both the Devin Townsend Project as well as Strapping Young Lad, but now I am fortunate enough to be able to follow the muse where it currently leads. I am proud to announce that for the first 'band' tour of the Empath cycle, I am going to stretch my wings in ways I have not had the opportunity to do before and tour with a 'backing band' that can shift and morph as the music dictates instead of adhering to a click track.  'Empath Europe Volume 1' will be the first example of this, and the first tour will be in Europe (other territories to follow).

I have spent considerable effort think about the things I wanted to do for these shows, and one thing I came out of DTP with was the awareness that I wanted to incorporate a more improvisational element to what I do. With the best players I can find, my plan is to interpret my back catalogue, as well as the Empath material, in ways that may change nightly. less computers, and less of a rigid structure. I want to use Volume 1 as a way to bring my music to people in a potentially new way. People playing music...

I hope you will consider joining me at these concerts. As a performer, it's important to be able to be willing to react, and my hope is that each of these shows will be a unique experience.

Thank you for allowing me to do what I do. See you there?

Devin Townsend"

In the lead up to the album's release, Devin will walk fans through how Empath came together with a series of documentary episodes recorded as phone conversations during the course of the albums recording. Watch the first episode of that series here: https://youtu.be/y4sJ8odko2Y

Over the past few years, the success that Devin has slowly worked for has fortunately come with the power to control his own creative destiny. The recent successes with the DVD from a sold-out Royal Albert hall, or his 2012 'Retinal Circus', or last year's 'Ocean Machine' live DVD with the Orchestra and Choir of State Opera Plovdiv has put him in a position where with the new album 'EMPATH', he will once and for all define himself as a musical force outside of any particular genre classification.

On this album Devin has decided to see what would happen if all the styles that make up his current interests were finally represented in one place. To finally shake the fear of expectation, and just do what it is he was meant to do creatively, EMPATH, true to the name, is about allowing the audience a feeling for a variety of musical emotions. The musical dynamics represented on this single album are broad, challenging, and immense. To approach this sort of work with a long history of what makes heavy music 'heavy', allows this to be done with a type of power rarely heard.

Joining Devin on this album is Frank Zappa alumni Mike Keneally as music director, as well as Morgan Ågren (Mats And Morgan, Frank Zappa, Fredrik Thordendal), Anup Sastry (Monuments, Periphery), Samus Paulicelli (Decrepit Birth, Abigail Williams), Nathan Navarro, Elliot Desagnes, Steve Vai, Chad Kroeger, Anneke Van Giersbergen, Ché Aimee Dorval, Ryan Dhale and the Elektra Women's Choir.

A bold statement with massive production values and dynamic, uncompromised musicality. This is a statement about not only pursuing creative freedom in a conservative scene, but also trying to show that heavy music is truly a valid musical tool.

'EMPATH' will be released on Limited 2 CD Digipak (including an entire disc of bonus material), Standard CD Jewelcase, Gatefold 180G 2LP Vinyl + CD + LP-booklet & as digital album.

The Monarch Of Weirdo Music GARY WILSON Claims His Throne On New Album THE KING OF ENDICOTT!

5eb65133-a533-44f6-ac04-2fcf44b195f8.jpg
Los Angeles, CA - There must be something in the water of Endicott, NY. Not only is that small city of roughly 12,000 souls the origin of one of the largest, most innovative corporations of all-time, IBM, but it is also the birthplace of some of America's most demented geniuses including the man who transformed TV in the 1960s with his series The Twilight Zone, Rod Serling, as well as the comic sibling pair of Amy & David Sedaris, and finally the most celebrated voice in metal and the artist who gave us the heavy metal horned salute, Ronnie James Dio! But there can be only one King Of Endicott, one artist whose fearless and uncompromising vision allowed him to both transcended that little town of Endicott and yet embody all of its otherworldy qualities. And that man is Gary Wilson!

This legendary figure of low-fi bedroom funk has become known the world over for his unique–yet highly palatable–brand of experimental music. Though he achieved enduring cult status in 1977 with his classic album, You Think You Really Know Me, he had been recording original music since his pre-teen years, and even studying composition privately with John Cage before moving to New York to become the toast of that city's well-known underground music scene. But it's those early years in Endicott that Gary harkens back to on his newest album The King Of Endicott, the years when his passion for music, art and film was at its rawest and most imaginative. For evidence, just view the vintage clips assembled for the video to the eponymous single. There you'll see Gary flanked by a host of local characters who film weird short films, post for pictures and of course put on musical performances the likes of which no one in Endicott (or really even the world) had ever seen!

View the video here: https://youtu.be/QBpqSQYlK94

The King Of Endicott will be available everywhere starting February 8 via Cleopatra Records.

Look for a record release party celebrating this important album at The Factory in downtown Los Angeles on February 9th!

"Passin' the dutchie from coast to coast/like my man Gary Wilson rocks the most." – Beck ("Where It's At")

Track List:
1. The King Of Endicott (Intro)
2. The Town Of A Thousand Lights
3. The Lonely Park
4. Walking In The Rain Tonight
