Cleopatra Records Releases An Exhaustive 2CD Collection Of The Complete Recordings By Proto-Industrial Band Executive Slacks!

Los Angeles, CA - They were one of the most groundbreaking bands to emerge out of Philadelphia in the early '80s, laying the sonic foundation for future acts such as Ministry, Skinny Puppy, and Nine Inch Nails. Yet the post-punk, proto-industrial sounds of Albert Ganss, Matt Marello, and John Young never earned the significant recognition it deserved. On July 10, that can all change as Cleopatra Records will release Executive Slacks' Complete Recordings 1982-1986, a monumental 2CD collection that gathers the band's entire recorded legacy all in one place, with 22 of the 36 songs appearing for the first time ever on CD! Those already familiar with the band will recall their cult hit "The Bus," a song that none other than LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy idealized ("I always wanted to make a song that sounded like that," Murphy said), and that appeared in all its contorted, electro glitch glory, on Michael Mann's original TV series Miami Heat, which is as close to the mainstream as the Slacks would ever come. Much of the band's oeuvre was far too noisey and angular, from the debut EP that put them on the map, to their first full length LP Nausea (produced Killing Joke bassist Youth), to the college radio breakthrough Fire & Ice (their swan song). But with the current resurgence of post-punk electronic bands and this exhaustive collection of the group's work found on this 2CD set, it may perhaps be the Slacks time to shine!

PROGRESSIVE ROCK & PROGRESSIVE METAL - E-ZINE - Recommends

SOLSTICE COIL - "Commute"
Founded in late 2001, Solstice Coil is one of the most veteran bands currently operating in Israel's progressive rock and metal scene. Dedicated to the notion of combining intellectually challenging music with reflective lyrics and high production values, the band draws its influence from artists such as Radiohead, Muse, Porcupine Tree, Oceansize, The Mars Volta and Dream Theater. In 2011, Solstice Coil released its sophomore album, 'Natural Causes', under US-based label Melodic Revolution Records. In this album, the band presented a darker and heavier sound alongside a more mature songwriting style, while maintaining their previous level of sophistication and innovation. Natural Causes fared well with the critics, receiving dozens of favorable reviews that cited it as a formidable follow up to the band's debut album. In 2012 the band embarked on its first two of India, playing various festivals such as Rendezvous, Synchronicity, and NH7, which featured veteran metal band Megadeth. After returning from India, the band commenced work on developing songs for its third album, Commute. In this album, the band takes a stab at the epic while mixing classic progressive rock influences with heavy metal tendencies and even some elements of electronic music. Commute is also the first studio album to feature bassist Mihael Galperin and drummer Yakir Fitousi. The album was produced and mixed by Shai Yallin and mastered by the legendary Jens Bogren (Opeth, Haken, Katatonia) at Fascination Street Studios. The cover illustration was created by upcoming artist Pavel Postovoit.

PHI to Embark on Tour This August

Austrian progressive rock power trio, PHI will embark on a European tour this August promoting their most recent studio album titled "Now the Waves of Sound Remain" released via Gentle Art of Music last year. See the tour dates below.

After being formed in 2006 and achieving first respectable successes in 2008, PHI have since released their critically acclaimed album "Years of Breathing" and consequently toured the stages of Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Romania and Lithuania. By means of their brand new album "Now the Waves of Sound Remain", the power trio now presents the fascinating result of the artistic vision that the band likes to call double bottom.

Finding the formula for how to reach the perfect mixture of raw power and deep emotion; how to fuse a love of elements of the past with the natural curiosity of one's own artistic evolution, without compromising the very own distinct voice; finding that sweet spot where inexorable force coexists with big feelings in perfect harmony – despite enormous complexity. That is the approach that Markus Bratusa (vocals, guitar, programming), Arthur Darnhofer-Demár(bass, vocals) and Gabe Cresnar (drums), all established in the vicinity of Vienna's legendary Hallucination Company, have been following and have now brought to an impressive conclusion through the release of "Now the Waves of Sound Remain."

On this record the mighty walls of TOOL's guitar sound meet the driving rhythms of RUSHand gently merge with sophisticated arrangements that resemble the delicacy ofPORCUPINE TREE. The JEFF BUCKLEY-esque jazzy elegance provides the music with the final ingredient that completes the fused aesthetic of the old and the new.

In order to make this album the comprehensive experience that it has ultimately become, PHIhave created and implemented a textual concept in which the discourse on music's role, its significance, its drift into banality and the corresponding deterioration in value in today's society functions as a backdrop for a both detailed as well as cynical analysis of major issues. The enormously powerful message of this album lies in the fusion of emotion and the coolness of the intellectual: art is so much more than only a mere product. "Now the Waves of Sound Remain" challenges the boundaries: this is music with a double bottom.

To give this record the scope that it deserves PHI joined forces with Gentle Art of Music, the label owned by RPWL-duo Yogi Lang and Kalle Wallner. Furthermore, the final touch of the album's sound was provided by none other than Jon Astley, whose earlier accomplishments include works of LED ZEPPELIN, THE WHO, TORI AMOS and ANATHEMA.

Progressive Rock is still alive and kickin', and PHI are demonstrating this fact with force and finesse by playing live shows that no one can ignore. A real POWER trio sound a la RUSHthat meets complex arrangements a la PORCUPINE TREE and TOOL shatters the earth, while leaving cliché and the usual limits of rock music far behind. Their live shows are a revelation, even for people that never heard a band that far out there.

THE MAIER PROJECT - "Paris"
The Austrian Band The Maier Project had been formed in 2006 and created instrumental music only in their very beginnings. The first songs with lyrics formed the legendary album "A Gallery Of Dreams" in 2010 which is not available anymore. "Dragons" followed and made its way to the stores, with the single "Rush Hour" which had been listed among the Top 30 of alternative US charts.  Paris" is the 4th album of The Maier Project and has been strongly influenced by the assault against the editorial of Charlie Hebdo in January 2015. This and the ruthless actions of large economic enterprises harming the health of humans and animals led to several songs with political impact, garnished with thoughts about love, relationships and the feeling to be at home. Again strong melodic guitars build the backbone of the songs with moderate or fast rhythms, accompanied by undulating piano sequences, floating organ or string section. The baritone voice of Hans Maier reminds of songs by David Byrne, Lou Reed, Peter Hammill in a sometimes heavier way which some critics compared with Nine Inch Nails, Pink Floyd or Porcupine Tree.

ARMONITE - "The Sun is New each Day"
Composer Paolo Fosso and violinist Jacopo Bigi are classical-trained, but "classical" is not how they would describe themselves. Through their teenage years, they joined a few local bands playing a variety of genres and artists, from the Beatles to Dream Theater. Armonite was formed in 1996. Though still in college, they released their first album in 1999, and performed a few dates live. They eventually split up, so Jacopo could follow his career as a classical violinist and violin teacher, while Paolo started working in the music administration. In 2015, violinist Jacopo Bigi and composer Paolo Fosso formed a new band while borrowing the name of their old one. Armonite came together as a transnational project. Joining Paolo and Jacopo was Porcupine Tree's bassist, Colin Edwin and Dutch drummer Jasper Barendregt. "The Sun is New each Day" is produced by the first producer of Muse, Paul Reeve, with mastering at the Abbey Road Studios

Rare & Highly Sought After Coloursound Recordings By Brainticket Founder Joel Vandroogenbroeck Released In An 18CD Box Set!

Los Angeles, CA - At long last, the first ever CD release of Brainticket founder Joel Vandroogenbroeck's much sought after Coloursound recordings presented in a limited edition, sequentially numbered 18CD box set! These rare recordings were released anonymously throughout the '70s and early '80s on the German-based Coloursound label, which specialized in ambient soundscapes for use in film and television, and have gone largely unheard except by those who know them to be some of the most progressive, awe-inspiring masterpieces Joel VDB ever committed to tape! The Coloursound Box also features meticulously recreated artwork from the original Coloursound LPs plus personal reflections on each album by Joel himself alongside additional liner notes by music historian Dave Thompson! The entire package is available now courtesy of Purple Pyramid Records.

Belgian-born Joel Vandroogenbroeck was playing jazz in Switzerland when he found inspiration in the new sounds emanating from German krautrock artists Amon Duul II, Can, and Tangerine Dream. Under the influence of these groups, Joel and guitarist Ron Byer recruited drummer Wolfgang Paap and formed the trio that would become Brainticket. The group's 1971 debut album Cottonwoodhill immediately ran into a storm of controversy for its association with psychedelic drugs. The album came with a warning label that insisted you should "only listen once a day to this record. Your brain might be destroyed," which led to the album being banned in several countries including the USA.

From then on, Brainticket's reputation as a band of experimentalists at the forefront of underground, avant-garde music had been solidified. Following the death of Bryer, Brainticket regrouped for 1972's Psychonaut followed by Celestial Ocean, which told the after-life experience of Egyptian kings traveling through space and time. Released in 1973, the album was hailed as the definitive Brainticket experience and earned the band their greatest acclaim. And Joel has continued to explore new creative avenues over the decades, releasing more albums under the Brainticket moniker, including his most recent offering Past, Present & Future, which was released in February of this year by Purple Pyramids. The Coloursound Box is sure to please fans of Bratinticket as well as fans of adventurous, avante-garde music!

EARTHSIDE TO RELEASE NEW SINGLE "MOB MENTALITY" FEATURING LAJON WITHERSPOON (SEVENDUST), MOSCOW STUDIO SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA; TEASER VIDEO STREAMING ONLINE

Debut album "A Dream in Static" to be released later this year

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - New Haven-based progressive ensemble, Earthside, has announced "Mob Mentality" as the second single to be released from its upcoming debut album, A Dream in Static. The nearly 10-minute track, which will drop later this week, features guest vocals from Sevendustfrontman, Lajon Witherspoon. "Mob Mentality" began as guitarist Jamie van Dyck's senior thesis while studying music at Yale University; the song also features a full orchestral arrangement composed by van Dyck and performed by the Moscow Studio Symphony Orchestra (MSSO). For further insight, the band has released a teaser video discussing the new song and recording process on YouTube at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHpxsYs-YUw.

Jamie van Dyck reflected on the experience: "Working with Lajon was surreal to me. Sevendust was my favorite band in high school when I was first finding my identity as a songwriter and all-around musician. Lajon's voice has always moved me. LJ was unbelievably gracious in the studio and dedicated himself to fulfilling my emotional vision for the piece, and unsurprisingly he totally nailed it.

"Before I was even listening to rock music, my parents raised me on Beethoven symphonies and other 18th - 20th century orchestral music and operas so incorporating a full orchestral arrangement into the rock and metal music I love now has basically been a lifelong goal and dream of mine. And myEarthside bandmates were overwhelmingly enthusiastic and supportive in helping me fulfill that dream."

An inherently collaborative cross-continental project - recorded in Stockholm, Sweden under the watch of renowned producer and mix engineer, David Castillo (Opeth, Katatonia, Bloodbath), and additional mix and mastering engineer, Jens Bogren (Opeth, Soilwork, The Ocean, Devin Townsend) - A Dream in Static is due to release later this year.

Van Dyck further elaborated on the album recording process: "New surroundings and collaboration are two of the best catalysts for inspiring creative energy. Living in Stockholm and recording withDavid Castillo was the opportunity of a lifetime for us. We were immersed in such a vibrant musical space and passionate group of people that ultimately made this record what it is. That inclusive spirit in working with David and the guest musicians on the record brought out that energy in each of us."

Through organic layers of living, breathing orchestra (courtesy of the Moscow Studio Symphony Orchestra), and an eclectic arsenal of world music-influenced instrumentation, Earthside fashions an ever-changing sound that is equally engrossing alongside a work of cinematic art as it is resonating throughout a densely packed concert venue.

A Dream in Static, the group's conceptual mission statement, is a story of purposeful sacrifice and existential yearning told across sweeping instrumental movements, interwoven with adventurous vocal compositions featuring premier voices from across the rock and metal worlds.

"Our music aims to evoke the full range of human emotions," van Dyck added. "Having those emotions and themes expressed more directly through the voices of some of our favorite singers and musicians was an unbelievable experience and something we cannot wait to share with everyone."

The first single, "The Closest I've Come," can be streamed on YouTube at:http://youtu.be/AL_v5U2AeIs.

A teaser video for the album can be seen on YouTube at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wG5rMe3KTV4.

The Room – signs with Bad Elephant Music and releases new single

Bad Elephant Music is excited to announce the addition of UK melodic rock band The Room to its expanding roster of artists.

There is a rich musical heritage at the heart of The Room's progressive tinged rock - a combination of impressive musicianship, catchy hooks and thought-provoking lyrics. Formed in 2010 by Steve Anderson (guitar), Steve Checkley (keyboards), Andy Rowe (bass) and Martin Wilson (vocals), The Room released their acclaimed debut album, 'Open Fire', in December 2012. They were joined by drummer Chris York in 2013. A second album, as yet untitled, will be released by BEM in late 2015.

The Room's Martin Wilson: "Choosing a label to work with is not an easy decision to make. The way that the Bad Elephant guys go about their business is our way of doing things, and their genuine passion for music is highly infectious. We're really excited to be working with BEM on our new album and, hopefully, for many more years to come. David has also promised us a curry."

Bad Elephant Music CEO, David Elliott: "The Room is one of the few acts that comfortably spans melodic, radio-friendly rock and progressive music. I'm delighted to welcome the chaps to the BEM family, and look forward to long and fruitful relationship! Not sure about the curry, though."

The first release through this new partnership is a digital single, 'Carrie', which is available to download from Bad Elephant Music's sales site from 15th June, where you can also buy 'Open Fire', the band's acclaimed first album.

More news regarding the upcoming album release very shortly!

Guitar Legend Merrell Fankhauser Releases New Sci-Fi Symphonic Instrumental Surf Album “Signals From Malibu” on Gonzo Multimedia

Arroyo Grande, CA - Guitar legend Merrell Fankhauser has released a new Sci-Fi symphonic instrumental surf album "Signals From Malibu" featuring strange radio signals from the underwater anomaly off the Malibu California coast. A few years back UFO buffs began investigating some strange electronic signals that appeared to be emanating from a spot deep beneath the Pacific Ocean off the Malibu coast. They reported bizarre psychic phenomena in conjunction with them, and legendary surf guitarist Merrell Fankhauser was inspired to write music based on, and including them.

Says Merrell, "The song 'Signals From Malibu' was inspired by the odd anomaly that is off the coast of Malibu California 2000 feet on the ocean floor. The area has had many sightings of UFO's diving into and coming out of the ocean. This has led many to believe it is an underwater base. An ex Army radio expert recorded some strange signals coming from the area. The signal recordings were sent to me by Michael C. Luckman director of the New York Center for Extraterrestrial Research and I incorporated them into the song. After listening more to the signals I was compelled to write a symphonic song using more of the signals titled 'Messages From The Dome'. I had the feeling the signals were communicating with me and I was inspired to keep writing the rest of the songs on this disc. If you feel tingly after listening don't worry its perfectly natural!"

Merrell Fankhauser is considered one of the main innovators of surf music and psychedelic folk rock, and is widely known as the leader of the instrumental surf group The Impacts who had the international hit "Wipeout". He has presented a number of television programs over the years including 'California Music', 'Route 66 TV Live', and in 2001 he began hosting a music show called 'Tiki Lounge' that airs on the California Central Coast, Southern California, Hawaii and parts of the East Coast.

NYC Prog Ensemble Consider The Source To Release 2CD Set “World War Trio (Parts II & III)”

NYC - Much to the excitement of Prog fans worldwide, NYC trio Consider the Source is releasing the second installment of their epic, three part grand vision, World War Trio. Following the dense, nearly 24 minute, five part composition that comprised World War Trio (Part I), this double album begins with the trio of masterful technicians' progressive rock, metal and jazz foundation, then draw from Middle Eastern, Indian and Eastern European traditions - balancing shifting moods and tempos, cerebral and emotional jabs and intellectual and primal pursuits - into a dynamic and cinematic audio experience that has been described by one critic as "the soundtrack to an alien invasion". A relentless touring schedule has won the band a fervent following from California to Israel, with fans ranging from jam-band hippies and jazz cats to metal headbangers and prog aficionados.

Watch Consider The Source's new video here:

Recorded at Bunker Studio in Brooklyn, funded by a successful Indiegogo campaign, "World War Trio" is Consider The Source's first release in four years and their first recording with drummer/percussionist Jeff Mann, whose recent addition has supercharged the band's chemistry. "World War Trio" spans three discs and a universe of sonic territory. Their masterful improvisation, frenetic energy, and unique blend of progressive rock and Middle Eastern music have brought them worldwide acclaim, and a rigorous global tour schedule has forged them into a fearsome live band.

"When we decided to go back into the studio, we made a pact to go all in emotionally, physically, temporally and mentally. This piece was a rite of passage for us and we are beyond excited to share it with you, our fans. We ask that when you listen to this album, please do so in an undistracted environment, preferably in headphones or high quality speakers. We have tried to capture unique emotions that cannot fully come across while listening on laptop speakers. Thank you so much. We hope you enjoy." - CTS

Formed in 2004, Consider the Source features Gabriel Marin on fretless double-neck guitar, bassist John Ferrara, and drummer/percussionist Jeff Mann. Called "the guiding light for his generation of six-stringers", Marin channels the mystical fury of McLaughlin and Coltrane into wailing melodies, kaleidoscopic soundscapes and boneshaking riffs. With a background in classical musics both European and Indian, and an instinct for avant-jazz and destructive metal, Marin's hypnotic fusion of styles is ever unpredictable. Ferrara's propulsive, percussive attack, equally suited to simple grooves and impossible chords, can ground the music or launch it into space. His madcap gumbo of slap bass, Indian rhythms, earthy minimalism and complex tapping constantly pushes into strange new worlds, whilst still dropping thick booty-clap beats. Underneath them lies Mann's rolling thunder; dense rhythmic architecture built from pure swagger and bounce. Half double-bass prog-metal, half crackle-pop Buddy Rich swing, with African and Balkan swirls, Mann's muscular, freewheeling polyrhythms are the engine fuel for CTS's multiversal mischief. Even when not improvising, The trio's music is always a conversation, a roiling stew of dynamic interplay. Each member of Consider the Source
alternately leads and follows, spars and assists; in any single song, alliances are made and broken, bargains struck and divorces finalized.

Touring from coast to coast, as well as Europe and the Middle East, has not only earned the band thousands of fans, but has allowed them to perform with a wide variety of well-known artists, including Victor Wooten, Wayne Krantz, King Crimson Projekt, Kris Myers (Umphrey's McGee), Wyclef Jean, Andy Statman, Matt Darriau (Paradox Trio), Oteil Burbridge, Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey, Dumpstaphunk, Keller Williams, George Porter Jr., Jeff Sipe, Panzerballet (Germany), Eatliz (Israel), Freak Kitchen (Sweden), Morglbl (France) and many others. They have performed at numerous festivals and events including Gathering of the Vibes (Connecticut), Peach Fest (Pennsylvania), Summercamp (Illinois), Catskill Chill (New York), Aura Music & Arts Festival (Florida), Jazz Fest (New Orleans), Burning Man (Nevada), Head For The Hills Festival & SXSW (Texas), Rootwire (Ohio) and the The WerkOut (Ohio), to name a handful.

Here's what the press have been raving about Consider The Source!

"Mesmerizing World Metal…" - Melissa Giannini – Village Voice

"Welcome to a new age in music. If you want a truly unbelievable, face-melting, head-banging musical experience, Consider the Source is for you.. jaw-dropping live performance that no other band can touch. " - Headspace Magazine

"Pulling off music that is this complex is akin to walking a tightrope in high winds. Making all of it groove, move and breathe organically is an even more-daunting challenge. Rarely is music this progressive so . . . well, sexy and exotic are the words that come to mind. Music for the brain and the body, then." - Buffalo News

"Intense jams, showcasing their diversity and pushing their instruments to the proverbial limit" - Relix Magazine

"If you're curious as to what the kids are listening to in the Big Apple, Consider The Source may provide the answers." - Earvolution

"They created monstrous sounds that they themselves could barely control and ate the crowd alive." - Upstate Live

"A shimmering prog-rock opus" - Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

"Having seen them live, I completely understand why people are so fanatical about them. They were amazing." - Guilt Free Pleasures

"Impressive improvisational skills and signature Middle Eastern motifs." - Jambase

AXE was formed in 1978 from the ashes of a band called Babyface and began recording their first album, "AXE" in 1979 and started a tour that lasted until 1984. Their second album, "Living On The Edge", followed in 1980. In 1981, AXE changed labels and recorded "Offering" for ATCO Atlantic featuring the hit "Rock and Roll Party In the Streets." The song reached #59 on the Billboard charts of the most-played-songs in 1982, and became a nationwide rock anthem. After 19 months of touring with the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, the Scorpions, ZZ Top and Motley Crue, it was time to record the fourth AXE album - "Nemesis". Continued success meant more touring. Band leader Bobby Barth was seriously injured in a car crash that led to the disbanding AXE and later joining Blackfoot. After his stint with Blackfoot, Barth took his talents to Australia to join Angry Anderson (Rose Tattoo), hitting the Top 5 on the Australian charts.

The reformed 1997 AXE line up featured former Frank Zappa vocalist Bob Harris, Bobby Barth on guitars, Edgar Riley Jr on keyboards and original drummer Teddy Mueller plus bassist Blake Eberhard, and keyboardist Rob Lowe. To his credit, Bob Harris has performed with some of the greatest artists in the music industry. Covering vocals and keys for Frank Zappa, he proved his ability as an outstanding musician and writer. Blake Eberhard is one of Colorado's premier studio and live bassists. He joined AXE after being hired by Barth for several recording sessions, and added a new dimension to the AXE sound. In the interim period between the band's split and the reformation, Edgar Riley Jr had worked with Frank Zappa and had also played with several unidentified bands in the Southern states of America and Teddy Mueller had got involved in the publishing industry.

"AXE has been one of the greatest musical and personal adventures in my life. However, it was always bitter sweet, because the tragic death of Michael Osborne created the space that I later filled. I will always be thankful to my friend Mark Pinske for introducing me to Bobby Barth. From the start he mentored me into the band's style and graciously included me in the writing process, and became one of my dearest friends for life. AXE has always been about the music - not the hype - and I feel honored to be a part of it." - Bob Harris

A brand new AXE album, "AXE (Twenty Years From Home)" was released in September 1997 featuring re-recorded versions of choice tracks from each of the first four AXE albums, plus two from the recently released V record. For their 2001 album "The Crown" the group inducted new personnel guitarist Danny Masters and drummer Christian Teele. AXE would release a limited edition mini album "Live In America 1981" to commemorate their European 2001 tour dates. In the mid-2000's, AXE reformed again including singer Bob Harris and adding new members, Brad Banhagel, David Landes. The band toured throughout the US and Europe.

Now AXE fans worldwide are rejoicing with the pending release of AXE's "Rock 'n' Roll Party In The Streets – The Best Of"!

Troyka unveil mind altering video

Jazz experimental trio Troyka have just gone to some next level with their video to opening track on celebrated new album 'Ornithophobia'.

This album has just been featured in The Telegraph's 21 best jazz albums of 2015 feature and it seems apt to be writing this on hearing about the death of a jazz great Ornette Coleman and Horror legend Christopher Lee that we continue to move things forward with the likes of Troyka and other progressive artists who continue to challenge and explore new ways to blow minds. The horror link you'll follow by checking out the insanely awesome but creepy video to 'Arcades'

Troyka - Arcades

Is taken from the London prog-jazz trio's third album Ornithophobia, available now via iTunes, Amazon and Naim Records.

The band say: "Arcades alludes to a mixture of things – retro gaming, horror films, anime, sci-fi – all things geek. We were excited to be collaborating further with graphic artist Naiel Ibarrola, and with animator Jordan Copeland, also a member of the amazing band Hot Head Show.

"It's amazing to see these guys bring to life our terrifying vision of Ornithophobia hitting the streets of future London. Watch your back, and don't stay there too long…"

Troyka appear at a number of festivals in the coming weeks:

Jun 21: Vancouver International Jazz Festival, Canada
Jun 24: Rochester Jazz Festival, US
Jun 25: Rockwood Music Hall, US
Jul 03: Sudtirol Jazz Festival
Jul 04: Sudtirol Jazz Festival
Oct 08: Enjoy Jazz, Germany

Check out the new website for Troyka too, it's awesome!

Cochise to release new album in October!

Polish rock/metal band Cochise have just finished working on their new studio album entitled "The Sun Also Rises for Unicorns". All guitars, bass and drum parts were recorded in just one take at The Rolling Tapes studio. All vocals were recorded at Nagrywatornia Studio in their hometown Bialystok. The follow-up to the "118" album is their fourth full-length album and will be released on October 2, 2015 by Metal Mind Productions. It will be promoted with two music videos. The "Black Summer" video is almost ready to be released online, and, later this month, the band will appear on the set of the clip for the title track "The Sun Also Rises for Unicorns".

"The Sun Also Rises for Unicorns" features 13 new tracks:

1. The Sun also rises for unicorns
2. The Boy who lived before

The band was formed in 2004 in Białystok, Poland. The current line-up includes: Paweł Małaszyński on vocals (he is also a very successful movie actor in Poland), Wojtek Napora on the guitar, Radek Jasiński on the bass guitar and Czarek Mielko on the drums. So far, they have released a demo "9" plus three full-length releases - „Still Alive" in 2010, „Back to Beginning" in 2012 and "118" in 2014. On their studio albums, Cochise perfectly blend energetic songs enriched with heavy, almost metal sounds with more delicate, atmospheric ones. The band's most recent studio album "118" proved that they can remain true to the rock tradition and still enrich their sound with fresh and original ideas. The band follow this path on their new studio album "The Sun Also Rises for Unicorns" scheduled for release on October, 2nd via Metal Mind Productions.

GALAHAD - When Worlds Collide – 30th anniversary retrospective double album

Work is progressing well on WWC, recording is almost complete and we can confirm the album will consist of ten brand new recordings of older songs plus a selection tracks from the last three 'Thin Ice' albums and recent EP's completing this retrospective.

The press release quotes the following:
"In order to celebrate the band's 30th anniversary Galahad will be releasing a historical double CD retrospective with a twist, the twist being that ten of the tracks included are brand new re-recorded versions of old Galahad songs, some dating back to 1985, the year the band formed, including one thirty year old track (City of Freedom) which has never been recorded before!
In some cases the new versions are similar to the originals but in other cases the songs have been re-worked and re-arranged considerably, either way we have tried our best to be sympathetic to the spirit of the originals whilst trying to bring them up to date in terms of their sonic quality.
Hopefully, this collection is a fair representation of the Galahad cannon and will appeal to existing fans of the band and will also, perhaps, act as a taster to those yet to dip their toes in the world of Galahad music."

All tracks are being recorded at Thin Ice, once again, with Karl Groom on engineering and mixing duties.
The album will also include guest appearances from Mark Andrews who was our keyboard player from 1988 to 1991 but who is still very much a part of the Galahad family and a dear friend. Also Daryl Watts will be playing Bass guitar on 'The Chase, Daryl is the son of Paul Watts, our first bass guitarist from 1985 to 1988, so here comes Galahad ..the next generation! 

As soon as we are near completion, we will make the album available for pre-order from our own web site merchandise page, www.galahadonline.com/merchandise.

The provisional album track list for 'When Worlds Collide' is:

The '30' EP track listing is:
1. The Chase (7:44) (1988/2015)
2. Chamber of Horrors (5:37) (1990/2015)

Empires Never Last – The Deluxe Edition/ Empires: A Curious Companion

The album's companion album, unsurprisingly named 'Empires: A Curious Companion', which includes demo versions of tracks, some of which appeared in full form on the final version of 'Empires Never Last' and some which didn't is now available to download from all the usual online vendors such as I-tines, Amazon, CD Baby etc.

NEW Live Album CD/DVD news – Galahad – Solidarity: Live in Konin

We hope to release this set as a double audio CD plus concert DVD package through our good friends Oskar Productions who are based in Poland. 10. Sleepers
11. Guardian Angel – Reprise
12. Painted Lady

Live Shows
As we are busy with studio work for most of the first part of this year shows are a little thin on the ground but we will be playing a very special 30th anniversary show at Mr Kyps, Poole, Dorset on Saturday 4th July. This concert will include performances of some of the older songs (for the first time in many years!) which have been re-worked for our 'When Worlds Collide' 30th anniversary album as well as more recent tracks and a few 'classic' staples.

We will also have a few special guests joining us on stage for what should be a very memorable evening. As well as the EP already mentioned above, free copies of our 1991 Galahad 'press pack' (which makes quite amusing reading!) as well as an original 'Room 801 – Galahad fan club' button badge will also be available.

We a show organised which is the 'Northern Prog Festival' on Saturday 7th November at De Uthof in Siegerswoude, The Netherlands.

We will also be playing two double header shows in Poland with Polish band Lizard on Friday 18th September at Klub Kwadrat in Krakow and on Sunday 20th September at Klub Klimat in Bielsko-Biala.

DREAM THE ELECTRIC SLEEP ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM WITH PRODUCER NICK RASKULINECZ

Progressive rock trio Dream the Electric Sleep are currently in the studio recording the follow-up to 2014's "Heretics". The band will be working alongside Grammy Award winning producer Nick Raskulinecz (Rush, Foo Fighters, Mastodon) at Rock Falcon studios in Nashville, TN.

Regarding the band's third full-length album, vocalist/guitarist Matt Page says, "The material came together faster than we imagined, with a real passion and vision. The songs seem to capture something we have been striving for as a band since our first release. They feel more focused and tighter, with equal creative contributions from all three of us."

On working with Raskulinecz, Page says, "Nick has produced some of the top rock albums of the past decade, and we are thrilled to be working and collaborating with him. We knew we needed to bring a creative visionary on board to really push us and the material to new places. We can't wait to begin this creative process with Nick at the helm."

The album is set for a Spring 2016 release.

For inquiries, please email Matt Page at dreamtheelectricsleep@gmail.com

Matt Page - Vocals / Guitar / Keys
Joey Waters - Drums / Vocals
Chris Tackett - Bass / Guitar

Dream The Electric Sleep is a progressive, concept-rock band from Lexington, KY. Although primarily rooted in progressive rock, the band employs elements of shoegaze, classical, folk, doom, psychedelic and pop.

Formed in 2009, guitarist/vocalist Matt Page and drummer Joey Waters recruited bassist Chris Tackett formerly of Chum (Century Media) and Hyatari (Codebreaker/Earache). The trio spent the following two years developing an uncommon sound characterized by an eclectic blend of influences.

The result was the band's self-produced debut concept LP, Lost and Gone Forever.

Lost and Gone Forever received international critical acclaim, gaining a wide variety of print and online reviews (including Classic Rock Magazine, Eclipsed Magazine, The Big Takeover, Progression Magazine, among many others), and was an underground favorite amongst many in the progressive rock and crossover/heavy rock communities. As a result, the band was invited to perform at one of the premier progressive rock festivals in the United States, the Rites of Spring Festival (RoSfest), and were given the coveted "Church of Prog" slot.

The band returned from RoSfest in May 2013 to finish producing their sophomore LP, entitled Heretics.

Released in February, 2014, Heretics features 11 tracks and over 70 minutes of revolutionary progressive post-rock that one reviewer described as possibly "the greatest album in the Post-Prog genre to date." The album received an overwhelmingly positive response from critics and fans alike, and established Dream the Electric Sleep as one of the more powerful forces in the modern progressive rock genre.

Heretics has since landed on numerous 2014 Top Album critics lists, and continues to gain world-wide momentum.

2014 also marked another significant live performance for the band at Germany's prestigious Night of the Prog Festival - alongside Prog giants Anathema, Transatlantic, IQ, and Marillion. The band's distinctly heavy approach to progressive rock was a fan favorite of the festival, and confirmed to European audiences the band's compelling live presence.

Dream the Electric Sleep will enter the studio in May 2105 to record the full-length follow-up to Heretics.

THE TUBES ANNOUNCE 40TH ANNIVERSARY UK TOUR

The Tubes, the San Francisco-based rock band whose 1975 debut album included the controversial rock anthem White Punks on Dope, celebrate their 40th Anniversary when they embark on a 9-date UK tour in August 2015.  The tour kicks off at Bristol, The Fleece on August 3, followed Brighton Concorde 2 (August 4), Southampton, The Brook (August 6), London Clapham Grand (August 7),Manchester Club Academy (August 8), Glasgow, The Art School (August 9), Leeds Brudenell Arts Club (August 11), Edinburgh Liquid Rooms (August 12), and Wolverhampton Robin 2 (August 13).

The band's over-the-top theatrical visual live performances are known to millions of rock fans around the world for their combined quasi-pornography with outrageous satires of media, consumerism, and politics, epitomised by lead singer Fee Waybill's deranged on-stage characters, such as the larger-than-life fictitious platform-booted, drugged out British glam rock star Quay Lewd.  In 1977 The Tubes toured the UK, but many of their shows were banned due to British censorship. In February 1978 they released a ground-breaking live album entitled What Do You WantFrom Live - recorded at London's Hammersmith Apollo in November 1977, and also made their UK television debut on The Old Grey Whistle Test.

The Tubes are best remembered for their 1983 single She's a Beauty, a top 3 U.S. hit single bolstered by a frequently-played music video in the early days of MTV.  The current five-man line-up of The Tubes features four original members - Fee Waybill (lead vocals), Roger Steen (guitar), Rick Anderson (bass) and Prairie Prince (drums), plus David Medd (keyboards), the latter who's played with the band since 2006. The upcoming tour will see The Tubes perform their classics including What Do You Want From Life?, Mondo Bondage, Sushi Girl, Talk To Ya Later, She's A Beauty and White Punks On Dope.
