Dutch band Illumion are currently finishing the recording of their second album, entitled "The Waves". The album, formed around the brilliant guitarist Eveline van Kampen, will be released through FREIA Music in the 4th quarter of 2012. Eveline is solely responsible for all compositions and lyrics. The album will be released on HQ vinyl as a double-album in gatefold sleeve. The album is produced by Peter Boer who also produced the debut album of the band. Peter also plays bass guitar on the album.
Illumion obviously play progressive rock music. But it's very difficult to compare them to other bands, they have a unique sound. They blend influences from old school symphonic rock, gothic metal, classical music and the vocals of the older Kate Bush into their own unique style. Although the guitar of Eveline plays a major part in the music "The Waves" has a balanced sound that will appeal to fans of complex progressive rock music. Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon) has a cameo appearance on the album.
