Birdsong At Morning Spins Elegant Tapestries of Sound, Words, and Music on New Album “Signs and Wonders”

"Beautiful acoustic textures… a deep, compelling listening experience." – Guitar Player

Lowell. MA - From the quietly ambitious 4-CD box set debut, "Annals of My Glass House" (2011), through the expansive territory of "A Slight Departure" (2015), to the masterful new album, "Signs and Wonders" (2018), Birdsong At Morning has garnered rave reviews and airplay around the world.

Led by songer/songwriter Alan Williams, along with compatriots Darleen Wilson (guitar) and Greg Porter (bass), and a host of new and old collaborators, Birdsong At Morning spins elegant tapestries of sound, words, and music.

Produced by leader Alan Williams, the band's new album contains 10 original compositions by Alan, and an inventive (and timely) interpretation of Supertramp's "The Logical Song." Joining the core trio of Alan, Darleen and Greg, are drummer Ben Wittman (Sting, Paula Cole, Laurie Anderson) and guitarist Thomas Juliano (Seven Mary Three, Aimee Mann), along with a 20-piece string orchestra. Basics were recorded with David Minehan at Woolly Mammoth Sound, and the strings were recorded at WGBH, engineered by Antonio Oliart. The album was mastered by Grammy award winner Adam Ayan at Gateway Mastering, and the Blu-Ray was authored by Neil Wilkes of Opus Productions, the same folks behind the King Crimson, Yes, and XTC reissues.

Says Alan, "Just as the album art is a bold, full-color shift from our previous sepia-toned artwork, so the music inside represents a wider sonic spectrum, and musical pace. The general theme is that there is often hidden and overlooked beauty to be found in unexpected places. There are references to the natural environment in many of the songs, and some of these are contrasted with a more urban experience, or interior mindset. To quote the title song, 'take a look around.'"

"Signs and Wonders" is available for streaming and download on September 28, 2018, but will also be issued in a 2-disc CD/Blu-ray package, with 44.1/16 stereo mixes on the CD, and 96/24 vocal and instrumental mixes in stereo, LPCM 5.1 surround sound, and DTS-HD 5.1 surround sound, along with a 16-page lyric book.

Additionally, there are videos to accompany every song on the album. These videos are available on the Blu-ray, and will be posted on YouTube throughout the year.

Photo by Jude Porter - L-R: Darleen Wilson, Alan Williams, Greg Porter

Formed in 2008, Birdsong At Morning began as an exercise in resurrecting long-dormant musical energies. Williams and Porter had gone to the New England Conservatory of Music, then played together in several groups, notably the star-crossed folk-rock ensemble, Knots and Crosses. Porter was a founding member of Talking To Animals, before playing for Aimee Mann and Patty Griffin, among others. Wilson established herself as a groundbreaking recording engineer in Boston, working with a broad spectrum of artists from punk (Salem 66), to pop (New Kids On The Block), before becoming the pre-eminent producer of New England singer/songwriters – Bill Morrissey, Patty Larkin, Catie Curtis, Chris Smither.

During the long period between the demise of Knots and Crosses – a demise precipitated by their calamitous signing with Island Records – and the formation of Birdsong At Morning, Williams embarked on parallel careers in music production and academia. He served as musical director for Dar Williams and engineered a number of records for Patty Larkin, while earning a PhD in Ethnomusicology from Brown University. He is currently Chair of the Department of Music at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, where he also serves as the Richard and Nancy Donahue Endowed Professor of the Arts, and has published a number of scholarly chapters and journal articles, all while maintaining a presence as a creative, performing musician. In his spare time, he is also a certified yoga instructor.

The depth of experience present in every aspect of the band's work helps to explain the professional quality that exists in this totally DIY project. The group releases its own records, designs its packaging, and does much of the engineering and musical production work. Of course, like many indie-minded endeavors, Birdsong At Morning is assisted by extraordinarily talented friends – long-time collaborative partner Ben Wittman (Paula Cole, Laurie Anderson, The Story) plays drums, Greg's Talking to Animals compatriot Thomas Juliano frequently contributes guitar, and the band's last two albums were recorded with David Minehan (The Neighborhoods, Paul Westerberg, Aerosmith) at his studio Woolly Mammoth Sound, and mastered by Grammy award winning engineer, Adam Ayan.

Here's what the press has said about Birdsong at Morning:

"Sweeping strings, gorgeous sonics, and soulful singing, Birdsong at Morning is the greatest act you've never heard of." – Electronic Musician

"Art music both unpretentious and ravishing" – The Boston Herald

"Birdsong at Morning's creative intents find full fruition, making 'A Slight Departure' a fascinating point of embarkation. Lovely indeed." – No Depression

"A sprawling collection of poignant beauty delivered through Williams' keenly poetic eye. Simple and direct, carrying with it the breadth and depth of the kind of observation only an acute student of the world around him can deliver." – BMI MusicWorld

"A remarkable convergence of lush, patient music and intriguing poeticism performed with conviction and grace." – Songwriter's Monthly

In closing Alan has this to impart, "I think our listeners pick up and respond to the attention to detail that is put into the songwriting, arrangements, and recording. Nothing is assembled like a factory; everything is meticulously crafted, even when captured as complete performance elements. We think repeated listenings should reward with new perspectives, new discoveries. This mirrors the concept of small wonders revealing themselves on closer inspection that can be found in many of the song lyrics. And woven throughout is a sensitivity to the political conditions of the moment, and an underlying call to value the humanity in each and every one of us."

Martin Barre, best-known as guitarist in Jethro Tull - one of the biggest selling prog bands of all time, releases his new solo album Roads Less Travelled on Cleopatra Records on October 12, 2018.

Barre has developed his own distinctive style within the framework of Jethro Tull, and his instantly recognizable and original sound form the basis of this album. Roads Less Travelled features 11 original tracks by Barre, which reflect the last 50 years of his esteemed musical career.

Reflecting on the tracks & recording of the album, Barre says "I've concentrated on improving my songwriting over the last few years and as a result, I am really pleased with this new CD. 'Roads Less Travelled' reflects my belief in taking music somewhere new."

Barre's solo on Jethro Tull's 1971 hit "Aqualung" has been repeatedly voted as one of the top guitar solos of all time. Barre has been cited as an important influence by many virtuoso players, including Joe Bonamassa, Steve Vai & Jo Satriani and can count the likes of Mark Knopfler and Geddy Lee amongst his many fans.

Track Listing:
1. Lone Wolf
2. Out of Time
3. On My Way
4. Roads Less Travelled
5. Badcore Blues
6. Seattle

Keyboardist Tim Morse To Release New Album “Tim Morse III”

Songs about spiritual epiphanies, longing, friendship and loss

Much to the excitement of Prog fans worldwide, keyboardist Tim Morse will be releasing his 3rd album "Tim Morse III" featuring songs about spiritual epiphanies, longing, friendship and  loss. The original idea for Tim's third album was that it would be a completely solo project where he would play all the instruments and sing all the vocals. However, even at the demo stage he missed the input of others, and decided to bring in some of his favorite musicians for cameo appearances (mostly drummers and guitarists).

Says Tim, "I'm not really a multi-instrumentalist - I'm a pianist and guitarist. By extension I play other keyboards, bass and a little bit of percussion.  Anyone can play drums as good as I can! You can hear me play everything on one song 'The Marquis' and I play most of the instruments on 'My Ally' and 'Talisman' as well.

"It was very important to me to get to the 'emotional core' of the songs on this recording and so I looked for ways to eliminate some of the fiddling about - don't get me wrong, this is still a progressive rock album - but I wanted to make sure the message was clear.  My work with The Mangoes and the music of some of my favorite recording artists like Field Music and Kevin Gilbert influenced this approach.  Also, I knew from the start that there would be a vinyl release and so that was an exciting aspect of the project. It's been a dream of mine since I was thirteen to release a vinyl album of my original music and it's finally coming true! I'm very proud of the songwriting on 'III,' I definitely feel that it features some of my best work."

When the writing was finished Tim decided that it was essential to record on as much vintage gear as possible - Hammond organ, Fender Rhodes electric piano, Mini-Moog, and Mellotron samples. He spent a day at the Oakland Vintage Synthesizer Museum tracking songs with all kinds of analog synthesizer goodness (including the mighty Moog Taurus Bass pedals).

Says Tim, "On this recording I wanted to find the right balance between structure and improvisation. Of course, all of my solos were improvised (most of them are first takes done on the original demos), but even parts that might seem structured were done one pass on the fly. I believe that adds a vital feel to the music. I also kept a lot of scratch tracks where some precision may be sacrificed because the feel of the music was right."

Most of the recording was done in Tim's home studio (and others contributed parts from their project studios). However, he did track drums at Andrew Glasmacher's Studio 12 West in Utah over a few days. Also, all of the lead vocals were recorded at Paradise Studios with Craig Long. Craig is a mini-local legend in northern California, having worked with multi-platinum acts like Cake, Tesla, Bobby Brown, Tony, Toni, Tone! and many others. Tim wanted his expertise for the vocal sessions and Craig also made important contributions to the mix and did the final mastering of "Tim Morse III."

Watch the video for "The Mary Celeste": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qeN88tIBTU4

Tim Morse began his instrument instruction at a young age and started composing immediately upon picking up the guitar. He later moved onto the piano and studied as a music composition major, writing extended pieces such as a string quartet and two piano sonatas. During this time Tim performed with various rock and fusion bands and played on many recording sessions. Tim's first album of original music was entitled "Transformation" and was released in 2005. The album was well received by the Progressive Rock community and recognized as an original voice, in the tradition of Yes and Genesis, yet recorded and performed with a modern edge.

His second album "Faithscience" was released in 2012 and musically it picked up where "Transformation" left off, continuing to explore the best of Progressive Rock. In addition to this release Tim became a member of the Jerry Jennings band and formed The Mangoes with Bret Bingham. The Mangoes released their debut album in 2014 and it was embraced for its pop sensibility and quirky humor.

Tim Morse is also a published author and his book "Yesstories" has sold over 20,000 copies worldwide. His book "Classic Rock Stories" was published by the St. Martin's Press and was featured on the Howard Stern show. He has also written for music magazines over the years including Mix, Guitar World, Keyboard and Bass Player.

"Tim Morse III" will be released on CD and digital download on October 22, 2018 by Cymbalick Music. There will be a limited edition vinyl LP release of the album in January 2019. Plans for live performances in support of the new album release are in the works.

In closing Tim has this message for listeners: "I'm always grateful when anyone takes the time to listen to my music, whether they loved it or were critical of it. In this modern age of endless distractions it is a lovely thing when someone will truly listen to music."

To purchase:
"Tim Morse III" will be available on CDBaby, iTunes, Amazon, etc.
*Anyone ordering CDs or LPs on timmorse.com will get a free promotional bonus disc with cover songs, demos, alternate tracks, etc.

Curved Air Announces Third Volume of its Ongoing Rarities Series With The Second British Rock Meeting 1972 – OUT NOW!

Legendary Prog band Curved Air is pleased to announce the third volume of its ongoing rarities series with The Second British Rock Meeting 1972 – OUT NOW!

The sound quality is of an astonishing fidelity for a live recording from the early 1970s and features the only known recordings of the band improvising!

The last track is an extended jam and a version of the band's hit "Vivaldi" – lasting well over 30 minutes!

The band had just released its Phantasmagoria album at the time and the line-up was:
Sonja Kristina
Darryl Way
Francis Monkman
Florian Pilkington-Miksa
Mike Wedgwood

The booklet features a written introduction by Francis Monkman, who mastered the audio and curated the release personally, along with two essays written by attendees at the festival and previously unseen pictures.

Francis recalls the concert: "Listening to the recording, I was at first puzzled that we'd decided to start the set with Everdance, especially as I had some kind of hazy memory of waiting in the dank pre-dawn gloom, trying to persuade my fingers to work in preparation for our customary opening with It Happened Today. But the uncertainty of the initial holding pattern rhythm, together with Sonja's plaintive "what shall we do?" triggered the realisation that we had arrived on stage and plugged in, only to find that the guitar was for some now-long-forgotten reason not working. So we had to decide quickly once it became clear it wasn't going to be fixed in a hurry. And what you hear is the upshot..."

These recordings capture a unique set from the band's heyday, their only recorded improvisations and all in unbelievable sound quality for a festival in the early 70s!

1. No-Guitar Blues (3:33)
2. Everdance / Cheetah / Vivaldi (7:40)
3. Phantasmagoria (3:34)
4. Melinda (More or Less) (3:11)
5. Over And Above (11:32)
6. The Germersheim Jam / Vivaldi (31:47)

Small Faces “Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake’’ 50th Anniversary Deluxe-Editions

Immediate Records and Charly Records To Release 50th Anniversary Deluxe-Editions of London rock legends' 1968 psychedelic masterpiece across various formats

Immediate Records and Charly Records are to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Small Faces' much loved third album "Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake" with the release of a variety of new and very special deluxe editions across various formats (including deluxe triple 180-gram red, white & blue coloured vinyl LP box-set and a comprehensive 3CD+1DVD earbook set) on 26th October 2018.

To order Small Faces "Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake'' 50th Anniversary Deluxe-Editions:

The 180-gram vinyl LP formats have been newly mastered at half-speed for optimum sound quality and pressed in conjunction with Optimal : Media in Berlin and The Vinyl Factory in London from restored original Immediate Records tape sources. Originally recorded during 1967 and 1968 by Glyn Johns at Olympic Studios, Trident and Pye Studios, the expanded editions of "Ogdens'' also feature rare material from the archive of surviving Small Faces member Kenney Jones.

"On 'Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake' you can still hear it's a real band firing on all cylinders, great dynamics and everyone equal in their musicianship. The story within concerned an amazing journey and it was exactly the same for us too - a fantastic journey" - Kenney Jones, 2018

All editions have been prepared under the watchful eye of Small Faces reissue producer and Immediate Records label manager Rob Caiger with remastering engineer Nick Robbins (Soundmastering Ltd) and vinyl cutting engineer Matt Colton (Alchemy Mastering) and approved by Kenney Jones.

Talking about the mastering process for this 50th Anniversary, reissue producer Rob Caiger says: "Listening back to the original first pressing of 'Ogdens' on both mono and stereo, we've captured a lot more purely because we can do so much more with the technology we have now, cutting more information to the vinyl than was able to be done back in the day because of the limitations of technology then."

Remastering engineer Nick Robbins stresses how important it was for the new editions to stay true to the original LP: "I'm not concerned with how it might sound in the context of a modern recording. I think that's a mistake. I think it's much more important to bear in mind the context of its period rather than think 'Most records these days are really whizzy so I should make this the same.' No, you don't do that - that would be a mistake. The records have their time and sound has its time. And it's important to remain true to that."

Mastering Engineer Of The Year Award winner 2018, Matt Colton explains the half-speed cutting process to produce a 33 1/3 rpm LP: "Cutting at half-speed offers a better transient and dynamic response, more defined and accurate sound, extended low frequency and smooth high frequencies. Basically, the band really kicks arse on the half-speed cut in a way that it doesn't cutting at normal speed. The sound fills the room, Kenney's kick drum is punching you in the chest, the guitars are pushing the amps to the edge of distortion with a beautiful blues tone and it just delivers a more musical experience. There's more power there than cutting at normal speed and that is really satisfying."

A red, white & blue coloured vinyl 180-gram half-speed mastered 3LP box-set (Immediate IMBX012) boasts a new softback 12" x 12" 72-page book full of Gered Mankowitz photos, original artwork, rare memorabilia, in-depth sleevenotes and interviews conducted with band members over many years by journalist & writer Mark Paytress, plus introduction by Kenney Jones. LP1 consists of the original mono mix of "Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake," LP2 features the album's original stereo mix, whilst LP3 boasts a plethora of rare tracks released for the very first time on vinyl, all providing a fascinating snapshot of this key period in the acclaimed British band's career.

The comprehensive new 3CD+1DVD earbook set (Immediate IMEB012) comprises both original mono and stereo versions of the album together with a third CD that boasts an expanded version of the vinyl box-set's bonus LP disc, additionally featuring gems such as the rare American single versions of "Mad John" and "The Journey" plus the much sought after mono "Afterglow Of Your Love" (Alternate Single Mix), previously only released as a long sold-out 7" vinyl single for Record Store Day 2015 and made available here on CD for the first time. The contents of the vinyl book are also reproduced while this edition's DVD boasts a real gem; although "Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake" was never attempted live (in part due to its sheer complexity), the band did perform seven of the album's twelve tracks on one occasion - the 21st June 1968 edition of BBC TV's Late Line-Up Colour Me Pop show. This BBC TV studio performance is included on the new box-set's DVD. Previously only available in grainy quality on a long-deleted VHS video release and as part of a hard-to-find DVD compilation, this new box-set's audio & visual DVD content has been cleaned-up and is presented here in the best quality possible.

All editions have been assembled by Grammy-Award winning graphic designer Rachel Gutek who has had access to the Immediate Records original artwork files.

"They were the most complete pop group for me. They had everything - they were amazing players that all had the same influences. The image, the haircuts, blimey they were even all the same height. A kinda dream band that everyone would want to be in" - Paul Weller

The Small Faces story starts in July 1964 with vocalist & guitarist Steve Marriott, bassist Ronnie Lane and drummer Kenney Jones all sharing a bill at the Albion in Rainham, Essex as part of their own respective bands. Marriott, Lane and Jones met up again months later in a local music shop - the J60 Music Bar - and struck up a conversation whereby they discovered a shared love of American blues and R'n'B. Marriott was invited to play live with Lane & Jones' that evening in Bermondsey but following a particularly rowdy show where Marriott smashed up the venue's piano, they were sacked and ended up planning a new band together - the beginning of the Small Faces.

The band's rise was stratospheric, with the new group playing their first out of town show at Peter Stringfellow's Mojo Club in Sheffield in July 1965, accepting a residency in London's Cavern Club in Leicester Square and signing with heavyweight manager Don Arden before releasing a debut single, "What'cha Gonna Do About It," on Decca Records in August, which quickly ascended to No.14 in UK Singles Chart. When third single "Sha-La-La-La-Lee" reached No.3 five months later and their eponymously-titled debut LP also reached No.3 in the UK in the summer of 1966 (and with original keyboard player Jimmy Winston leaving the band at this point to be replaced by Ian "Mac" McLagan), the Small Faces had truly arrived.

Acrimoniously splitting from manager Don Arden, the band made an inspired move when they signed to Andrew Loog Oldham's Immediate stable in February 1967. Oldham saw Marriott/Lane as the obvious replacements for the Jagger/Richard songwriting team that had thus far helped afford the fledgling record label its insouciant cool (and big hits). Liberated by the move to their new independent confines, the band could now completely spread their wings; releasing a well-received, accomplished first LP (again entitled "Small Faces") for Immediate in June 1967, also finding the time to reflect that summer's psychedelic reverberations two months later via non-album Top 3 hit single, "Itchycoo Park," before finally blasting it out of the park in December 1967 with the astonishing single "Tin Soldier," their first collaboration with newly-signed Immediate label mate P.P. Arnold.

The band were at something of a strange juncture as they entered Olympic Studios, London with engineer Glyn Johns in late-1967 to commence the recording of their third long-player. The credibility afforded 'rock' acts as opposed to those considered mere 'pop' was still of crucial importance at this time in British music history and, having already achieved four UK Top 10 singles in 1966 (including a No.1 hit with the mighty "All Or Nothing") plus three Top 10 singles in the first few months of 1967, the pressure was now somewhat on to make that leap to timeless authenticity by delivering a truly great album. To add to the pressure, Immediate Records was suffering cashflow problems, inter-band relationships had become strained following a period of extensive overseas touring with The Who and the band's frontman Steve Marriott was constantly questioning the group's place in the musical firmament.

The decision was made to stop touring and give the band time to write a bigger record - the four musicians spent February 1968 working up tracks on three different boats cruising up and down the Thames, studio time was unlimited and the band members also took the opportunity to relocate to the countryside from the inner city, a new domestic scene perfectly captured in Andrew Loog Oldham's choice of first single from the forthcoming album, "Lazy Sunday" (Steve Marriott had wanted to release the heavier "Song Of A Baker" with "Lazy Sunday" as the B-side, but Loog Oldham stuck to his guns). Having rowed with a member of The Hollies, both accusing the other of never singing in their own natural accents, Marriott quite deliberately ramped up his vocal cockney tones on the single which reached No.2 on its release in April 1968.

"One of the great English rock LPs" - Mojo

The Small Faces' third studio album, "Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake," was released by Immediate on 26th May 1968, soon sitting pretty atop the UK Album Chart where it enjoyed a six week reign at No.1 that summer. The LP was housed on its original release in a round circular sleeve featuring a replica of the Thomas Ogden metal tobacco tin that inspired the album's title. "Ogdens'' was a proper game-changer - a brave British psychedelic rock statement that oozed jaw-dropping rock, soul and R'n'B, played by four remarkable young musicians completely at the top of their game. Whilst side one dazzled with the sheer power of Ronnie Lane's "Song Of A Baker" and the heavy soul of Marriott's "Afterglow" (belatedly reworked into the band's final official studio single, "Afterglow Of Your Love") plus a liberal dash of Cockney knees-up on aforementioned first single "Lazy Sunday" and "Rene," the LP's second side premiered the band's six-song fairytale of Happiness Stan and his quest to find the missing section of the crescent moon, the six track cycle linked via narration by comedian Stanley Unwin, his words suitably twisted into odd shapes via his unique, surreal 'Unwinese' linguistics.

"Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake" was the landmark album that the Small Faces had always threatened to make - both a critical and commercial highpoint and one that would finally afford them the real rock credibility that had thus far slightly eluded them. The album's whole was something truly psychedelic and new - at times almost childlike in its innocence, but at the same time infused with the band members' complex emotions and already slightly world-weary experiences. It seems incredible that this was a group a mere three years away from its humble beginnings in the sweaty East End pubs & R'n'B clubs of its birth.

A major influence on acts such as Led Zeppelin, Sex Pistols, The Jam, Blur and Oasis and almost universally acclaimed on its initial release in May 1968, "Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake" has gone on to appear in countless best album polls (it was voted #59 in Q Magazine's Top 100 Greatest British Albums Ever poll in 2000 and was voted into Mojo's Hall Of Fame) whilst The Guardian more recently described the album as, "A groundbreaker."

In addition to these new 50th Anniversary deluxe editions of "Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake" on 26th October 2018, surviving band member Kenney Jones has also recently published an acclaimed autobiography, "Let The Good Times Roll," via Blink Publishing, writing extensively about his time drumming with the Small Faces, the Faces and The Who (amongst others), speaking openly about his own personal cancer battle and his continued work to raise awareness via the Prostate Cancer UK charity and his own Rock 'n' Horsepower charity events.

(Riff Relevant) Orissa "has conquered their own unique style and release music that stands out in today's scene."(Metal Nexus)

Mixed by Sahaj Ticotin, (RA; Meytal Cohen; Adekain; September Mourning) and mastered by Paul Logus, (Stone Sour; Steel Panther; Shadows Fall) the LP showcases, "progressive metal that demonstrates remarkable mastery." Orissa's live band is a roster of NYC's finest musicians from Trans Siberian Orchestra, Neal Morse Band, Stratospheerius, Book Of Mormon, Dyed In Grey, Haakons Fault, Emergence and Astronaut Down.

Orissa was created in 2010  by Dodini, a virtuoso singer, guitarist and bassist, who writes, arranges and performs all the parts on Orissa's records.  Born out the of desire to explore inner creative space and create a distinctive, cathartic, deeply personal and therapeutic art, Dodini abandoned the strictly classical background and delved into his own songwriting, fusing his classical training with his love for jazz, balkan and other ancient rhythmic traditions; these styles translated into Dodini's immersion into metal and progressive music, as the genres carry numerous parallels. Orissa released its debut EP, Omens in 2012; on which Dodini played all the instruments and was backed by Dan Walsh (drums). Omens was mixed by Stacey O'Dell, (Killcode, Panzie, Awaken), and mastered by Chris Muth of Taloowa. Orissa launched two additional singles in 2013 as, The Musical Offering. They were mixed and mastered by Patrick Derivaz, (Jon Scofield, Jeff Buckley, Meshell Ndegeocello), and released to support a Kickstarter Campaign. In turn, the Kickstarter raised over $20K to fund the  upcoming album, Resurrection, which features Dodini's vocal and instrumental arrangements and performances as well as drummer Jason Gianni, (Trans Siberian Orchestra, Neal Morse, Book Of Mormon). In 2016, Orissa brought the music from the studio to the stage when Dodini attracted the best musicians from NYC's progressive, metal and rock communities.

Stay tuned for more announcements from Orissa, including a number of new videos from Resurrection.  Soundcrave Magazine declares, "this is more than just metal. I hope the world is ready for this."

EDDIE JOBSON

Classical prodigy and teen star — Award-winning film composer — "A musical genius" (Editor-in-chief of Emmy magazine) — Electronic music innovator — Nominated for 2019 induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame — World music and jazz record producer — Lecturer on The Art & Science of Music — Electric violin virtuoso — Award-winning pianist

With an international reputation as the definitive musicians' musician, British musician Eddie Jobson has been recognized as a musical genius since childhood. As a piano and violin prodigy, he was awarded a Diploma of Distinction by London's Royal Academy of Music at the age of 8, performing with his first professional orchestra at age 10. At 16, he was appointed as the Young Persons' Representative to the British Government's Arts Council and, the same year, performed his debut concert at the University of Newcastle - one of the first live concerts to feature the electronic music synthesizer. By age 17 he had acquired a worldwide record deal with Warner Bros. to record his first full album, playing violin, synthesizer and piano.

Transitioning away from classical music and still only 17, he became orchestrator for British singer Bryan Ferry, leading to Jobson becoming a full member of the influential art-rock group Roxy Music, contributing to their first number-one album as synthesist and groundbreaking electric-violinist.  Eddie's proficiency in re-sculpting and professionalizing the Roxy sound played a major role in the band's success and their considerable influence on the likes of U2, The Talking Heads and many of the '80s new wave rock/pop groups. Jobson's early pioneering work as a teen, along with the other Roxy members and fellow synthesist Brian Eno, has resulted in a nomination for 2019 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Remaining in the rock and jazz world after Roxy, Eddie - still only 21 - was "discovered" by American music icon Frank Zappa and flown to Los Angeles to replace both jazz greats George Duke on keyboards and Jean-Luc Ponty on violin, in Zappa's only four-piece lineup. Returning to England in 1978 after several albums and world concert tours with Zappa, Jobson then formed the internationally acclaimed progressive-fusion band UK with jazz-guitar legend Allan Holdsworth, King Crimson vocalist John Wetton, and original Yes drummer Bill Bruford. The UK albums, along with his other work with King Crimson, Yes, Jethro Tull and with members of Deep Purple and The Who, established Jobson not only as one of the top keyboardists in rock, but also as, arguably, the top rock violinist in the world.

In the 1980s, Eddie put rock music and concert touring aside and focused on electronic music and the innovative world of computer music. He created the first music video to feature CGI, as well as the world's first album performed entirely on the Synclavier Music Computer. Featured in TIME magazine, this critically acclaimed album was one of the very first all-digital CD releases.

The 1990s saw Jobson move into the world of television and film scoring - an award-winning side-career that culminated in him becoming choral director for Disney on two major movies and the soundtrack composer on numerous films, TV shows and 3D theme-park experiences. Fascinated with all musical forms, he left the world of Hollywood in 2000 and formed a musicians' label called Globe Music as a vehicle for producing a diverse array of jazz and world-music artists. This period also saw Eddie working with the Tuvan throat singers; composing for and conducting both the City of Prague Philharmonic and The Bulgarian Women's Choir, and also functioning as the choir's spokesperson at Harvard University and on multiple classical radio broadcasts.

An unexpected return to the concert stage in 2008, saw Jobson perform to a festival audience of more than 200,000 people in Kazan, Russia, leading to ten more years of world tours until his permanent retirement from live concerts in 2018. In 2017, Jobson received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Progressive Music Awards in London.

Five new double-CD releases are being released to commemorate Jobson's almost fifty years as one of the world's most respected musicians. Eddie is also currently producing six video lectures on The Art and Science of Music.

King Crimson's David Cross & No-Man's Andrew Booker's Unreleased 2006 Album “Ends Meeting” - Now Available!

London - David Cross was a member of King Crimson during the 1970s and Andrew Booker was a member of No-Man, Sanguine Hum and Peter Banks's Harmony in Diversity.

This PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED STUDIO ALBUM was recorded in 2006 but had not seen a release until now.

David Cross said of the release "I met Andrew some years ago when the David Cross Band were touring with Pete Banks's Harmony and Diversity. Andrew was the drummer with that band and we got together after the tour to record some tracks. This eventually turned into the album we're releasing. Andrew brought a great deal of creativity and high level production skills to the project and is one of those people who make it easy to play - a wonderful talent!"

Andrew Booker said of the release, "David and I recorded only once together. I had come prepared with several sounds and tonal themes set up on the electronic drums, hoping to catch a little of the magic I had seen watching him with his band a few months earlier. I got that in spades. As I listened to David's endlessly inventive phrasing, track after track, I knew we were capturing something special. Soaring and searing, or serenely soothing, even 12 years later I still find bits of it breathtaking, music for electric violin and electronic percussion in an arid North African heat-haze."

The seven new tracks on this album showcase the talents of Cross & Booker and will appeal to the fan-bases of both artists and the bands they have been in. It's an innovative meeting of minds.

1. LOOPSCAPE A
2. THE SHAKES RATTLED
3. SLEEK
4. SPARED BHANGRA
5. WORSHIP THE GOURDS
6. ENDS MEETING
7. LOOPSCAPE B
