MUSIC BUY MAIL IMPORT SERVICE CELEBRATES FIRST YEAR!

Music Buy Mail is proud to continue on with it's Import Service
Program featuring hard to find AOR, hard rock and metal independent
releases. Store owner Sebastian Eder decided in the Spring of 2012 to
bring in music from bands who are not normally associated with the
larger CD chains across Europe but never the less have released some
outstanding music. These titles are normally released in smaller
quantities and have been sought after by collectors for many years.

Music Buy Mail has already successfully brought in over 130 titles in
the past year with new bands arriving every month. Ranging from AOR,
modern rock and 80's hard rock to glam/sleaze and heavy metal.

New arrivals are:

SUMMERS - It took a while until the British band finished their debut
album but it was worth waiting for it! On this album you will find
great 80-s hard rock and this band is supposed to the hottest and most
potential melodic rock act currently. Monster new melodic rock outfit
from the UK featuring Ricky and Crash Summers. For fans of mid to late
80's era Def Leppard with some strong Bon Jovi influences. Totally
Essential!!

SAFFIRE - after an 18 year break, the original members of Australian
band Safire have finally reunited to record a new album. ,,All Because
Of You" is filled with loads of melodies, harmonies, and guitars, it
is a real treat for all true fans of melodic hard rock. The whole CD
is an awesome melodic hard rock album and a MUST HAVE for fans of this
genre!

FRANK HANNON - Frank Hannon's (TESLA guitarist) new solo album is
built on the bedrock of contagious riffs, tight grooves, and raunchy
guitar leads, it upholds the familiar hard rock truisms with
commendable conviction. Frank Hannon's Six String Soldiers is
excellent hard rock that show cases Frank's mastery of his instrument
and music writing! The album also features guest appearances Rick
Derringer, Pat Travers, and Dave Meniketti!

STATION - STATION is one of the hottest new bands to come out of New
York City. A high voltage stage show with electrifying melodies make
STATION an unforgettable experience. They have shared the stage with
rock greats such as Pat Benatar, Vince Neil (Mötley Crüe), Bret
Michaels (Poison), and 38 Special to name a few. Recently, STATION has
returned from Nashville after recording with legendary producer
Michael Wagener (Ozzy Osbourne, Skid Row, Mötley Crüe, Metallica,
Alice Cooper, Extreme, Dokken, Warrant). The band is excited to
announce the release of their debut EP, "Wired."

THE DEEP END - The Deep End is a rock n' roll band at its purest. No
frills, cheap thrills. Songs of women, partying and getting back at
the man are all on the menu. A nationally touring band, their
hyperactive onstage antics and catchy anthems are fast making them the
most talked about young rock n' roll band. Great hard rock from
Australia like AC/DC and Airbourne!

BONEDOG - Swedish rocktrio with heavy blues influences who carry on
the legacy of Zeppelin, Whitesnake, early ZZ-Top and Stevie Ray Vaughn
all blended together in a perfect mix. A must have for all fans of
bluesrock.

HOTTNYTE - it all started in 2010 when five Brazilian young men,
imbued with a rare professionalism in the independent rock industry,
gathered around an ambitious goal: being themselves the band they
would like to see. Being themselves a band they could be fans of.
Inspired by classic bands, but in tune with new trends, HOTTNYTE's
influences have always ranged from Guns N 'Roses to Black Veil Brides,
from Kiss to Escape the Fate. If you like bands such as Backyard
Babies, Hardcore Superstar, Velvet Revolver, Gemini Five, Crashdïet,
you just found one more Post-Sleaze band to add to your playlists!

DL link to MP3s of Chrome live in 1981

Download link MP3s comprising parts 1 and 2 of Chrome performing "Insect Human," recorded live in 1981:

This seminal avant-punk psychedelic outfit will be releasing a full album (1 CD or 2 LPs) of previously unreleased material from 1979/80 on King of Spades Records this coming June. The album is titled: Half Machine from the Sun, The Lost Chrome Tracks from '79-'80.

Guitarist Helios Creed explains: "Damon Edge & I made these 'Lost Chrome Tracks' during recording sessions for Half Machine Lip Moves & Red Exposure. We had so much material, good tracks went unused. I didn't even realize the tapes were lost (and sold) due to an unpaid bill! I forgot about them until they were played for me recently, some 30 years later, but listening to the work I was brought right back in time where we had left off. I remembered for instance that I felt 'Something Rhythmic' was a special track, maybe even a hit. I guess it wasn't time to complete these tracks then, because now is their time."

Known for their experimental, de/re-construction of rock and roll, many of these Lost Chrome Tracks have a tendency towards catchy melodies and strong hooks, while still maintaining chrome's signature innovation, weirdness and pile-driver rhythm. Other numbers are pure experimental noise. In all, this double album opens a window into the diverse sounds of this groundbreaking band and this groundbreaking era in rock and roll.
Chrome's blend of raw energy and mind-bending audio manipulation influenced a wide range of musical genres, from the avant-rock of Sonic Youth and the Flaming Lips to Industrial rockers like Nine Inch Nails and Ministry. Theirs was "a Cyber-Punk vision of the future that came a decade before the term was coined," as psychedelic connoisseur Julian Cope put it.

Chrome was founded by vocalist/drummer Damon Edge in 1975, inspired by proto-punk pioneers the Stooges as well as the radical experimentation of John Cage. After releasing their debut album The Visitation on Edge's own Siren label, guitarist and vocalist Helios Creed joined Chrome, replacing their original guitarist. He played bass as well as guitar, sang and composed songs with Edge, coming in to make their commercial and artistic breakthrough Alien Soundtracks Chrome's 2nd album -- an immediate underground hit. Creed's guitar work "exploded the possibilities of what psychedelic, punk, new wave and industrial rock could sound like" claims Examiner.com's Andrew Stecz.

Creed and Edge comprised the main creative force behind their next album, Half Machine Lip Moves, as another founding member left. "Nobody ever started an album with as much fire as Chrome did with the opening of Half Machine Lip Moves" proclaims Cope. "[it] remains my favorite beginning to any rock n' roll record, surpassing even Iggy and the Stooges' Raw Power." Chrome continued Alien Soundtracks' Sci-Fi-Punk, collage of searing rock with noise, sound-bites, scrap-metal percussion and unusual manipulations of their instruments and amplifiers, but done heavier with Creed's guitar feedback and Edge's powerful drumming to the fore.

Chrome signed to the UK's Beggar's Banquet label for their fourth album Red Exposure and Third From the Sun, their fifth which included contributions from Edge's new wife Fabienne Shine (of French punk sensations Shaking Street). They also released 5 EPs and singles on various labels from '79-'82. Afterwards Creed left the band and established himself as unique and powerful solo artist, touring extensively and recording prolifically. He continued to be a influence through the grunge and noise rock indie scenes and he toured with Nik Turner's (Hawkwind) band "Space Ritual." Creed turned out 21 solo albums and several singles in his own right, from 1985 to 2011. After Edge's death in 1997, Creed took the helm of Chrome on stage and in the studio, making four more Chrome albums, completing one Edge had started before his passing, Angel of the Clouds, released in 2002 (and re-released by King of Spades Records this year).

"I've created new music for close to 40 years now," states Creed." This 'Lost Chrome Tracks' release & a new Chrome album I've been recording this year, will be my 37th & 38th albums."

MUSIC BUY MAIL IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE SIGNING OK UK BRAVADO ROCKERS “THE BURNING CROWS”!

Hotly tipped, UK, bravado rockers "The Burning Crows" showcase an infectious mix of good time rock n' roll, with an attitude, style & swagger that lands Britrock firmly back in the contemporary mainstream and that has earned them the reputation of being one of the very best live bands on the scene today. So, if high energy, rock n' roll played hard and played with gusto is your thing, come join the "future of British Rock"s carnival of frivolity and indulge in the decadent feast for the senses that is "Behind The Veil".

Following the amazing public and media reaction to the release of their aptly named "Never Had It So Good" EP, the subsequent headline tour of the UK & Ireland, a slot at Hard Rock Hell and featuring as special guests to The Quireboys throughout their winter tour, its safe to say that bravado rock n rollers, The Burning Crows, couldn't have asked for a better 2012. There truly is no rest for the wicked however, as after reaching 100% of their PledgeMusic target, the band set their sights on releasing their Debut Album, "Behind The Veil" in Spring 2013.

With the "Never Had it So Good" featuring Keith Weir (The Quireboys/Def Leppard) making a guest appearance on keys and the EP being Produced and Mixed by Nick Brine (The Darkness/Bruce Springsteen/Oasis) it was clear that some of Rock's biggest players were joining the ever growing queue to get behind the band from the start and is a trend that has undeniably come into it's own ever since. Following the incredible public response to their first release and overwhelming demand for more, the band have just returned from the world famous Rockfield Studios in Wales, after once again working with legendary producer Nick Brine to record their debut album "Behind The Veil".

"Behind The Veil" is scheduled for June 14th (UK: June 17th) in a digipack with 2 bonus tracks.

Your presence is requested... See you at the front.

LA Prog Duo Days Between Stations To Release Second Album Featuring Members of XTC, YES and King Crimson

Featuring Colin Moulding (XTC), Rick Wakeman (YES), Peter Banks (YES/Flash), Tony Levin (King Crimson/Peter Gabriel) and Billy Sherwood (YES/CIRCA:) - with artwork by legendary Paul Whitehead

Los Angeles, CA - Possibly the most anticipated prog release of 2013 will be released on May 15 – the sophomore album by celebrated LA prog duo Days Between Stations titled 'In Extremis'. Boasting an incredible guest line-up of music legends featuring Colin Moulding (XTC), Rick Wakeman (YES), Peter Banks (YES/Flash) Tony Levin (King Crimson/Peter Gabriel) and Billy Sherwood (YES/CIRCA:), Days Between Stations reach a new level of creative artistry on their new album. With a title like 'In Extremis' (Latin, In extremity – A term used in reference to the last illness prior to death) one can begin to understand the intensity and sepulchral mood of the musical direction.

Keyboardist Oscar Fuentes explains the concept behind the album, "There's the saying that your life flashes before your eyes in near death – and, presumably, actual death – experiences, so the album begins at the climax with 'No Cause For Alarm' and, as told on 'Visionary', 'flashes back to the beginning' and then in not strictly chronological order tells the story of our protagonist's life. Not cheerful stuff, I know, but there's some humor in there and if you read the lyrics I think ultimately it's a positive message. I've had some personal losses in the last few years, so I tend to grapple with that in my lyrics, while Sepand is going to be a father soon...we tried to integrate those two themes, birth and death, into the lyrics."

Billy Sherwood comments, "I really enjoyed working with Days Between Stations, the music is very deep and has a mystique about it that was intriguing from the first time I heard the songs. I can't wait for people to hear this record. Rick Wakeman and Peter Banks of YES, Colin Moulding of XTC and Tony Levin of Peter Gabriel and King Crimson (playing all the bass), all appear as guests on this record which makes it even more unique. I played drums and sang lead vocals on the record and it was a pleasure to do so."

Founded in 2003 by guitarist Sepand Samzadeh and keyboardist Oscar Fuentes, the duo named themselves after the cult novel by Steve Erickson and have devoted themselves to, as they say, Art Rock and Post Prog - music that reflects their varied influences, as well as shared disregard for stylistic boundaries. This eclecticism continues apace on this follow-up. At times the music recalls Peter Gabriel or 'Duke'-era Genesis (as on the propulsive "Visionary", which features Sherwood's multi-layered vocals and Levin's driving Stick bass work), or an ambient marriage between Pink Floyd and Lisa Gerrard and Debussy ("In Utero"), or even a cross between Ultravox and Marillion and 'Abacab'-era Genesis (the Moulding-sung "The Man Who Dies Two Times"), but the band is about more than influences. As Oscar says, "We always try to create something new and not just re-hash a particular sound from the past. Sometimes it's the unlikely pairing that gives you something fresh."

Although, Days Between Stations 'In Extremis' in some ways retains the dark somber mood of the group's first album (released to great acclaim in 2007), in other ways the music is completely different. Says Sepand, "There are four clear distinctions between the two albums. The first, is that we are five years older. Which means we have grown as players and have higher expectations of ourselves. The second, which is most noticeable is that we have vocals (with lyrics) on this album. The debut album provides landscapes and layers of sound that allow the imagination to run free. One negative aspect of having vocals is that the mind mainly focuses on the rhythm and lyrical content and often times constrains the music. We wanted a healthy marriage between the two. Even so, there are several instrumental tracks on this album, one in particular is 'Blackfoot'." Oscar continues, "It wasn't really a conscious decision to add vocals to this one – I mean vocals with lyrics. It's just how the writing went. Sometimes a song tells you what it needs. So that's different. Also, the album is more thoroughly composed or let's say it's more structurally thought out. Although Sepand and I entirely wrote the music, the lyrics were written collaboratively with Billy Sherwood, who was invaluable in bringing more focus to the whole theme, and who in some cases took the idea in a different direction."

Sepand concludes, "I feel the third difference on the new album is the extensive use of classical and exotic instruments; a full orchestra was employed on the first track, 'No Cause For Alarm', an instrumental overture that weaves together many of the main themes from the album. While the track 'Waltz In E Minor' is performed by a string quartet, the full orchestra returns (along with an unexpected Barbershop quartet) on the closer, 'In Extremis', a 21-plus minute multi-part epic that also features founding YES guitarist Peter Banks. Additionally, a Persian lute called a Tar is featured on the track 'Eggshell Man', a song that also features a blistering Moog solo from YES maestro Rick Wakeman. In fact, on 'Eggshell Man' Rick Wakeman, Billy Sherwood and Peter Banks play together. This brings me to my final point; when all these legends came together to contribute on this album, we developed a certain obsession to be at our best. Sadly Peter Banks passed away during the making of 'In Extremis', making these recordings even more meaningful and special to us."

Although not necessarily connected to the Prog world, legendary XTC member Colin Moulding graced the album with a sublime lead vocal on the track "The Man Who Died Two Times", which has also been issued as the album's first single. Says Oscar, "Billy Sherwood had the idea that Colin's voice would be perfect for the song and he was right. 'Oranges and Lemons', 'Skylarking', 'The Big Express'...all of these I've listened to a million times. Another surreal moment for me!" Sepand adds, "Colin began communicating his thoughts on his first listen. I felt so much excitement and creativity from him, there was a great vibe between us. He really brought the song to life."

Colin Moulding comments, "I had been doing some fun sessions for producer Billy Sherwood when he approached me with a side project that he was working on. It was this band Days Between Stations – an LA group I had never heard of before. It was inventive, extremely melodic, and had a lot of the qualities that got me excited about songs. So it was agreed that I would sing lead vocal on this track 'The Man Who Died Two Times'. As things have turned out it seems to have been a marriage made in heaven; I think with a little careful handling and the right choice of material, this lot could go a long way."

Along with the legendary guest artists, the 'In Extremis' album cover art was created by famed artist Paul Whitehead, best known for his work with Genesis and Van Der Graaf Generator. Says Sepand, "To us, the artwork for an album is just as important as the music. We met with Paul at a coffee shop and I vaguely discussed the concept of the album – as the songs were not fully conceptualized at the time. He came up with some great images – on the spot – about this guy lying on a hospital bed while he was – as our lyrics say - 'retracing all of the memories'. These memories are whirling around him, while he is in extremis. The great collaboration that we shared with Paul allowed the music and the artwork to become symbiotic...creating a true, tangible concept."

Veteran engineer William Kaylor (Fleetwood Mac, Ray Charles, Michael Jackson) was also recruited to the project in order to improve the sound quality of the recordings. Once again, Grammy Award winner Evren Göknar, from Capitol Mastering, joins Days Between Stations to master 'In Extremis'.

As far as future plans for Days Between Stations, a full documentary about the recording of the 'In Extremis' album is currently in the works. There is a strong possibility that the debut album will be remixed. Both albums will most likely be issued on vinyl as a limited edition release. Also talks of live performances are being discussed at the moment. In closing Sepand and Oscar have this to impart to their fans and listeners, "Thank you very much for your unequivocal support and for giving us confidence. Sorry for the wait, hope it was worth it!"

Eclectic Second Release By Netherland's Mr Averell Features Lene Lovich, Mike Garson, John, Ellis, Members of Van der Graaf Generator and Others

Featuring Mike Garson (David Bowie), David Jackson, Hugh Banton and Judge Smith (Van der Graaf Generator), John Ellis (Peter Gabriel, Peter Hammill, The Stranglers), Lene Lovich

The Netherlands – Avant Garde music aficionados across the globe are excited about the forthcoming second album by Dutch visual sound artist René van Commenée under the guise Mr Averell titled 'Gridlock'. Van Commenée is known in The Netherlands for his music (sound) art objects, theatrical performances and soundtracks for theatre, fireworks spectacles and film. Over the years he has worked with many acknowledged musicians around the world and became well-known by fans of Van der Graaf Generator through his percussion performances with VDGG member David Jackson. About ten years after their first duo-performances they released the well-received critically acclaimed album 'Batteries Included', a collection of their live recordings. In the same scene, René performed on albums by VDGG's Judge Smith as percussionist, drummer and vocalist.

"Mr Averell is a one-off and hard to classify. Is he a sensitive singer-songwriter, a rock music wildman, and avant garde performance artist or a musical clown? Maybe he's a little of each, and his music is always surprising and full of interest." - Judge Smith

The name Mr Averell has been employed by René in order to record and release song-based recordings. He explains, "As a musician I work mainly as a percussionist, electronic music performer and sound designer. I am a member of the trio The Art of Doing Nothing with Pipe Organ master Willem Tanke and MIDI-wind-controller/flutist Martijn Alsters. With Alsters I formed a duo for live-surround concerts and installations also. Separate from this I create visual sound art installations. I always like to use my voice though – I was a singer in several Dutch rock bands in the seventies and eighties, and like to write, record and perform more song-based music as I call it. But if you do so many diverse things I think you have to make clear to your audience what it is they can expect when buying your work or attending your concerts/performances. Therefore I chose to give my song-based projects a separate name, Mr Averell; a band in which I am the main writer and performer."

'Gridlock' is the second Mr Averell album and features guest performances by Mike Garson (David Bowie), David Jackson, Hugh Banton and Judge Smith (Van der Graaf Generator), John Ellis (Peter Gabriel, Peter Hammill, The Stranglers), Lene Lovich, along with Stuart Gordon (Peter Hammill, Peter Gabriel, Massive Attack), Dyane Donck (Daisy Bell), Martijn Alsters, Willem Tanke, Ninca Leece, Tammo Heikens and Lisa Weiss.

"René is a wonderfully creative artist who is always pushing the boundaries of music!" - Mike Garson

The album is an adventurous journey through very different kind of songs and instrumentals, but all with the typical, quite theatrical Van Commenée signature. 'Gridlock' should be listened from beginning to end and isn't just a collection of songs. Literally 'Gridlock' stands for the famous Dutch traffic jams, but also tells about the 'Gridlocks' in our lives and heads. The wonderfully produced album may take a bit of time to sink in but once it does, it becomes timeless and unique.

And how did René amass such an impressive list of famous guest artists? He explains, "Luckily, this was not too difficult – they're friends! In my past musical career I met many fantastic, well-known musicians with whom I've worked in several projects. With David Jackson I performed a couple duo-concerts which were recorded and released as the live CD 'Batteries Included'. We've always stayed in contact and both performed on the song-stories of Judge Smith (Curly's Airships and and Orfeas). We've always enjoyed working together, but since we're both very busy with other projects there's seldom a moment we can, and this was a nice opportunity for the both of us. Jackson quest-performed even in the Mr Averell band at a festival a couple of years ago. Via Judge, who himself does some harmonic voices and even plays euphonium on the album. I came in contact with John Ellis thanks to the fact that he asked us both to perform on 'The Full English', which we also performed as a band in London. Besides a fabulous musician John is a very nice person as well. The fabulous violinist Stuart Gordon, who I met many years ago via Peter Hammill, also performed on my previous Mr Averell album. While he performed and arranged a whole acoustic string section then, on my new album he performs violin work with astonishing electronic effects. The listener might think it's electric guitar at first, but if you listen carefully you will notice that the effect is totally different because the violin is a bowed instrument – I'm very happy with it. People are probably very much interested in the incredible Mike Garson who is the pianist with David Bowie since 'Aladdin Sane' (1973). During the 'Outside' tour I asked Bowie to give a lecture at the Utrecht School of the Arts (I was Music Technology and Music Production teacher at several art schools at that period). Bowie, who was interested, didn't see a chance because of his very busy and demanding tour schedule. Coincidentally though, Garson happened to be a friend of a visiting professor from the States who was asked to do a project at the same school later on. This triggered us both, Mike Garson and I, for a meeting at the hotel the band stayed in and we kept in touch ever since. I was able to get him over for several (school) projects and while I was working on 'Gridlock' we finally found time to work together in the studio, resulting in a few songs of which we composed my personal favorite 'Sightseeings' together (with an amazing sax solo by Jackson). And then there is of course the extraordinary Lene Lovich with whom I sing two songs on the album."

"It's always a pleasure to be involved in sonic adventures with Mr Averell / René van Commenée. Often a challenge but always a joy." - John Ellis

In support of the release of 'Gridlock' plans for Mr Averell to perform in Europe are currently in the works. In closing René has this to impart to his listeners, "It is important to know that 'Gridlock' is intended as an album and not just a collection of songs. I would suggest really playing the album from start to finish and taking the time to listen and let it sink in. Everything's made for this purpose in the first place, the order of songs and even the pauses in between them are composed. This makes it very hard in these download-times, this album should probably be downloaded as one track."

SCHEMATA THEORY: UK PROG METAL NEWCOMERS RELEASE DEBUT ALBUM

Explosive UK metal newcomers ready debut album release
'Dry Lung Rhetoric' - ABAF Records, June 3.

'A beautiful blend of progressive textures and soaring vocal arrangements.' – TheNewReview

'Purely sensational music and experimentation.'- Throwing Shapes Media & Reviews

"Dry Lung Rhetoric is a calling card from a band destined for great things, combining melody, aggression, attitude and ambition to an exhilarating effect." – OneMetal.com

Bursting onto the UK metal/prog-metal scene all guns blazing, energetic new Reading-based six-piece Schemata Theory prepare to unleash their explosive debut album 'Dry Lung Rhetoric' on June 3.

The album, which was recorded at the renowned Stakeout Studios and produced by Jason Wilcock (Fightstar, We Are The Ocean, The Ghost of A Thousand), features 11 tracks and includes a guest appearance from Mutiny Within's Chris Clancy on concluding final track, 'The Final Breath'.

Combining many aspects of the metal genre, Dry Lung Rhetoric fuses classic thrash riffing, progressive technical instrumental passages, melodic hooks and soaring choruses, creating a set of songs that are accessible, original and thought provoking.

From the groove-metal orientated 'Perish or Prevail' to the piano driven ballad 'Your Belief', through to the more commercially melodic 'Drones' and catchy lead single 'A Complex Slate', the album is an experimental mix of eclectic metal infusions with the influence of bands such as Dream Theater and Metallica being prominent in the complex song structures, technical riffs and prominent guitar solos.

The message behind the album is an interesting one.  "The album's themes communicate acknowledgement of a sleeping world needing to wake up," explains psychology graduate and vocalist Myles Dyer.  "With so much evidently in crisis on this planet, the question that must be asked is 'How much longer can we go on turning a blind eye?'"

The band has released an impressive and eye-catching video for lead single 'A Complex Slate', which has already gained in excess of 45,000 views.

TSM's 5th Anniversary, Russ Dwarf joins TSM - new CD 'Wireless'

A two time Canadian Juno Award nominee Russ"Dwarf" Graham has also sold close to two million records worldwide and has had a career spanning more than 30 years. Russ
was the co-founder of the Killer Dwarfs in 1981.

He and the Killer Dwarfs quickly gained international success, first in Canada with the Juno nominated self-titled Killer Dwarfs debut album in 1983 with Attic Records Using
his own money, the band cut the iconic and now highly sought after album STAND TALL in '86 on Maze/A&M Records in Canada, and Grudge Records stateside.

MTV soon put the band's videos for "Keep The Spirit Alive" and "Stand Tall" on a 13-week rotation allowing the album to sell an unprecedented 80,000 copies during that time. By the spring of 1987, the video became the most requested video on MTV, setting a record that would take years to overcome. It still holds the record for MTV's most-requested
independent video of all time. A second video Stand Tall was greeted with similar  accolades.

The exposure led to Russ hosting the MTV "Head banger's Ball" with Rob Halford of Judas Priest in 1987.  Russ first album with Sony/Epic was BIG DEAL. That year they went on tour to support Iron Maiden across Europe on a sold out tour and appearing at several outdoor rock festivals here and overseas. Released in 1990, the resulting album sported 'Doesn't Matter' – Russ' first radio hit in the USA. The song went to #1 in thirteen cities, including two major stations in Los
Angeles. The title track, 'Dirty Weapons,' also became a smash hit and a standard on MTV's Headbanger's Ball program In 1991 Russ and The KiLLeR DWaRFs were
nominated for a Juno award for Best Hard Rock Group.

The following year saw the release of METHOD TO THE MADNESS also with Andy Johns in the producer's chair. This album was touted to be one of the best hard rock
albums Canada ever produced, including the title track, "Hard Luck Town" and "Cowboys and Conmen " along with the chart topping  "Driftin Back" power ballad.

After a few years of touring in support of METHOD TO THE MADNESS, Russ and his band parted ways with Sony/Epic.

ARRAYAN PATH new album

Melodic epic power metallers ARRAYAN PATH return with their new, fourth album, titled "IV: Stigmata".

The band's previous two albums have received ecstatic reviews and ratings making it into several "best of the year" shortlists by various media. Both albums have been shortlisted for IMPALA's European Independent Album of the Year Award. All this can only mean one thing of course and that's one highly anticipated and very promising new album!

"IV: Stigmata", is a more "fierce" and dark album and it is a concept album dealing with religion. Everything that has defined ARRAYAN PATH over the years however – superb and very melodic compositions, passionate performances and excellent atmospheric parts and some of the best metal vocals ever - are all there, unfolded through the album's 12 tracks.

The album's production, mixing and mastering was handled once again by the very capable Vagelis Maranis (ex-SANVOISEN) who also created some beautiful choirs using just his own voice. More guest appearances on the album include vocals by Jimmy Mavrommatis (ARMAGEDDON), guitar solos by Kikis Apostolou (ARMAGEDDON), Alexis Kleidaras (ex-DECEPTOR) and George Kousa.

"IV: Stigmata" is released worldwide on June 10th and it will also be available through all major mp3 stores. The CD version includes a bonus track, "Mystic Moon", which is a re-recording of the opening song of the band's first demo. Another bonus track ("Charming Paranoia") will be available as an exclusive download. A special edition of the album (limited to 50 numbered copies) will include the new album as a CD/cassette bundle with both covers signed by Nicholas Leptos!

The song "Midnight and the First-born Massacre" is already available for streaming and free download at http://snd.sc/12mxruO while all album pre-orders from the Pitch Black Records online store will receive access to "Charming Paranoia", the bonus download track of the album.

SCIENTIST at ProgDay 2013!

"It's like Panic at the Disco on Steroids meets Frank Zappa on Acid meets Joe Satriani on 20 cups of coffee...Their sound is also highly original...like no one of the entire planet...but in a way that is 100% pure and genuine. If there was one phrase I would use to describe THANK YOU SCIENTIST it would be mind-blowing."
- Markus Druery, INDIESHARK

THANK YOU SCIENTIST started in New Jersey in 2010.  Dubbed "The Top Unsigned Act in the Tri-State Area" after the release of their debut EP, the full-length "Maps Of Non-Existent Places" followed in 2012 and immediately secured the band's place as one of progressive music's great new talents. Since then this seven piece ensemble has been knocking people over with its musicianship, its turn-on-a-dime arrangements, and its swirling musical tidal wave of progressive rock, funk, fusion, metal, psyche, 60s pop and world music.

THANK YOU SCIENTIST will join simakDialog (Indonesia) at ProgDay 2013, the nineteenth edition of the world's longest running progressive rock festival.  ProgDay 2013 will take place on Saturday, August 31st, and Sunday, September 1st, at Storybook Farm in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.  For more information, and to hear music from all of this year's bands, please visit us at www.progday.net.

Bernardo Lanzetti - Concert/Event “VOX 40” - “Forty Years Of Voice Impossible”

In 1973, Bernardo Lanzetti, with "Acqua Fragile", did record that  first album by the same name.  This year, to celebrate forty years of voice and music, some dedicated events will be produced.     A unique event called "VOX 40" will take place in Parma, Italy, at Teatro Al Parco on May 28, 2013.

"The first part of the concert will feature Tango Spleen Orchestra, a small modern/classical unit working around Acqua Fragile music. I found those musicians having a very Prog sound, a bit like Astor Piazzolla played by Gentle Giant. Right after, my voice will of course cut through PFM music up to CCLR songs, touching avant-garde compositions driven by my Glovox." B.L.

Since 1973, first with "Acqua Fragile", following with "PFM", Bernardo Lanzetti has always been one of the finest Progressive Rock vocalists. After touring  Japan, Canada, UK and the US, in the 80ies, he went solo as a recording artist also devoting himself to voice and electronics experimentations that led him to invent a unique device called Glovox , a glove with pick ups to be placed on his throat to detect vibrations from his vocal chords, signals to be afterword processed like an electric guitar or synthesizer.

Also very active as an actor/vocalist, Bernardo has performed in avant-garde theatres in Parma and Milan. He has worked with many other well known artists including Giorgio Gaslini, Ivano Fossati, classic-contemporary composer Maurizio Pisati and performed or recorded with British artists such as David Jackson (VdGG) , Ian Mosley (Marillion), Frank Ricotti, Steve Simpson (Roger Chapman's Shortlist), Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull), Steve Hackett (Genesis), and Greg Lake (King Crimson, ELP).

Chosen by Bruce Springsteen management, Lanzetti has been translating the lyrics of the album "Nebraska"into Italian. He also did translate dialogs for cult movies like "Without Air" by Neil Abramson and "Pushing Hands" by Oscar winner Ang Lee.

As voice and word performer, Bernardo Lanzetti has produced and released a 3 CD collection: "ECLECTICLANZ", sung in different languages, ancient Greek included, while putting together different form of arts like painting, video, and even fashion fabric packaging.                            "BLUESLANZ" a blues oriented mini album and the intense "DYLANZ", a tribute to Bob Dylan songs, do celebrate the artist's triptych.

In 2011, CCLR (Cavalli Cocchi, Lanzetti, Roversi), a new Trio, was formed to be signed by Esoteric, the famous UK label, that released their first album worldwide.

Bernardo Lanzetti's voice does span over more than three octaves with a remarkable power and flexibility. In "Fango" a theatre play after Shakespeare's Macbeth featuring Giuseppe Verdi's opera music, Mr.Lanzetti has been singing both tenor and a sort of soprano parts. Sometimes he can even work with just the lower part of his vocal chords producing a subtle and disturbing sound he called "Voice Of Darkness".

"VOX 40" that will also host paintings, drawings and video animations by Bernardo Lanzetti,           is meant to be taken on tour in the future.

London based, politically charged, Electro Goth Punk 3-piece Calling All Astronauts release their long awaited debut album "Post Modern Conspiracy" on May 19th 2013.

The 14 tracks of sonic sculpture sit firmly in the alternative rock camp but raise more than a cocked hat to drum & bass, dubstep and big beat whilst reflecting on the decline of the quality of life in today's society.

Many of the said followers have contributed photos of themselves for the album sleeve holding either a C or an A which can be seen on the inner gatefold of the album.

Described by The Ringmaster review as "one of the most exciting alternative rock bands in the UK right now, maybe the best" they have received unbelievable support from radio and press worldwide which has seen them playlisted as far afield as Brazil, Canada and Australia to name but a few and has seen them featured several times on BBC Introducing courtesy of BBC 6Music's Tom Robinson.

No strangers to the stage CAA have played with Echo & The Bunnymen, Pop Will Eat Itself, A Place To Bury Strangers, and have sold out Alan Magee's "Death2Disco" they've been confirmed for Kendal Calling Festival 2013 with other festival appearances to be announced.
