Earthside reveals "Crater" live performance backdrop video, more North American shows

EARTHSIDE REVEALS "CRATER" LIVE PERFORMANCE BACKDROP VIDEO FEAT. BJORN STRID OF SOILWORK
North American tour with Leprous to kick off this month

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - New Haven-based progressive ensemble, Earthside, is gearing up for a North American tour later this month supporting Norwegian progressive metal act, Leprous. Today, the band is giving fans a glimpse at one of the key aspects of its live performance in the form of the backing video for the track "Crater." The visual component to Earthside's live "Crater" performance, complete with special guest vocalist Björn Strid of Soilwork, can be viewed on YouTube at:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKOlyFZLR2Q

Earthside comments: "We make every effort with our music to give you all something unique and heartfelt that breaks from the norm. We did this by taking a no-limitations approach to our songwriting on A Dream in Static and working with a number of incredible guest musicians. It follows in suit that our live show should also bring something special to the Earthside mythos.

"We collaborated with several amazing vocalists for A Dream in Static and, unfortunately, we can't bring them all on the road with us. To avoid compromising the stellar performances of Björn [Strid], Dan [Tompkins], Lajon [Witherspoon], and Eric [Zirlinger] during our live shows, we came up with a unique solution. We captured full-body video of their performances and infused them with intense visuals to create a powerful multimedia element that we project alongside each of these songs."

The upcoming September/October tour reunites Earthside and Leprous following a European stint with Voyager earlier this year. Binary Code and Dissona will round out the North American tour package. A full list of dates can be seen below.

Earthside drummer Ben Shanbrom comments: "Leprous is truly a part of the next generation of progressive music. In less than a year they have become one of Earthside'sabsolute favorite bands - they're good friends, great people, and unbelievable musicians and performers. It was an amazing experience touring with them and Voyager earlier this year across Europe, and we are so happy to be supporting them in our home country this fall."

Earthside previously toured in the U.S. in October 2015 with Soulfly, Soilwork andShattered Sun.

Earthside is touring in support of its debut album A Dream in Static, which released last October. An epic undertaking of cross-continental collaborations, A Dream in Static was recorded in Stockholm, Sweden under the watch of renowned producer and mix engineer,David Castillo (Opeth, Katatonia, Bloodbath), and additional mix and mastering engineer, Jens Bogren (Opeth, Soilwork, The Ocean, Devin Townsend). The instrumental collective recruited several acclaimed guest vocalists including Lajon Witherspoon (Sevendust), Daniel Tompkins (TesseracT, ex-Skyharbor), Björn Strid(Soilwork) and Eric Zirlinger (Face the King, ex-Seer) to provide their prowess across four of the eight cinematic tracks, as well as the Moscow Studio Symphony Orchestra (MSSO) for live orchestral compositions.

A music video for "Mob Mentality" - featuring guest vocals from Sevendustfrontman Lajon Witherspoon and a full orchestral arrangement composed by Earthside guitarist Jamie van Dyck and performed by the Moscow Studio Symphony Orchestra (MSSO) - can be streamed on YouTube at: https://youtu.be/WhtEusYxATQ. The clip won the "Outstanding Video by an Unsigned Artist" award from the North American Independent Rock Music Association earlier this year.
