Brazilian power trio DIALETO releases new album LIVE WITH DAVID CROSS (ex-King Crimson)

Brazilian band DIALETO is releasing independently, under the auspices of MoonJune Records, their fifth album "Live with David Cross", which was recorded in 2017 in São Paulo, Brazil, at the band's second of two concerts held to promote their previous album,"Bartók in Rock". The material of this album includes some live versions for the Béla Bartók pieces that were adapted by DIALETO, as well as renditions of a few King Crimson classics and one track by the David Cross Band.

Apart from David Cross (violin), the album features Nelson Coelho (guitars), Fred Barley (drums, vocals) and Gabriel Costa (bass, vocals) on full flight, delivering tight, powerful music to the people lucky enough to be in the audience at those concerts. From the climatic opening of "Roumanian Folk Dances 3" on through the other Bartók tunes, Dialeto exhibits a great variety of styles, from calm smoothness to hard tension, from delicate climates to sheer heavy rock, like "The Young Bride". Among the Bartók renditions, "Mikrokosmos 78" is of special interest because it's not on the "Bartók in Rock" album: it was arranged especially for this concert, by David Cross' suggestion.

Four King Crimson songs are featured on the album: David Cross' version of "Exiles", from his homonymous record, which highlights Barley's melodic vocals. "Talking Drum" and "Lark's Tongues in Aspic part Two" feature furious impressive improvisations by the band, and the beautifully tense "Starless" closes the concert with great power and emotion.

"Tonk", a song by the David Cross Band, with all its complex time signatures and heavy riffs, is also played by the group, completing the setlist.

Carefully mixed and mastered by Fabio Golfetti (GONG, Violeta de Outono), this music can now be appreciated by anybody, in all its energetic and crystal-clear sound.

Whether you are a King Crimson or David Cross fan, a Bartók enthusiast or an appreciator of DIALETO's previous albums, this live album will certainly please and surprise you.

FROST* re-sign with InsideOutMusic for forthcoming new album & catalogue reissues

FROST*, the band masterminded by producer, keyboard player & vocalist Jem Godfrey, has announced that they have re-signed with long-time label partner InsideOutMusic (who this year celebrate their 25th anniversary).

This new deal will encompass several forthcoming releases, including 2 new studio albums, a live album (filmed at 2017's sold out show in London), as well as reissues of the bands back catalogue. Jem had this to say: "InsideOut have been a long suffering supporter of Frost*. Unwaveringly supportive even when I was lobbing as many toys as I could find out of my pram. As time has passed, I've grown up and come to realise what a luxury it is to have a record company of this calibre covering your back. Many bands don't have that luxury so I'm absolutely raring to go with the new album and the one beyond that."

InsideOutMusic label-head Thomas Waber adds: "I am really pleased that we managed to extend our partnership with Frost* mastermind Jem Godfrey. His unpredictable nature and humour is a breath of fresh air in this genre and provides for some of the best music we have released on the label. Let's see what mischief we can come up with in the years to come!"

As mentioned, Frost* played the final show of the Falling Satellites campaign to a sold-out Dingwalls in London in November 2017. The evening was filmed, and will see the light of day as a brand new live release.

Falling Satellites was released in May 2016 to much critical acclaim, with Prog Magazine calling the band "one of the most entertaining and exciting bands on the block", while Echoes & Dust called the album "essential listening" and Heavy Blog Is Heavy said: "Progressive pop is theirs, and Falling Satellites is the benchmark."

Jem is joined on 'Falling Satellites' by guitarist & vocalist John Mitchell (Lonely Robot, It Bites), drummer Craig Blundell (Steven Wilson) & bassist Nathan King (Level 42). 'Falling Satellites' was the band's first album in 8 years & the follow-up to the acclaimed 'Experiments In Mass Appeal'. Comprising 11 songs, the final 6 forming a 32-minute long suite, 'Falling Satellites' also sees a guest appearance from Grammy-nominated guitar legend Joe Satriani who Godfrey played with on the G3 tour in 2012.

Spanish instrumental rockers Toundra release their new fifth studio album 'Vortex today, following on from their previous record 'IV' which reached number 2 in the Spanish charts.

On the Wednesday the band played live on 'Late Motiv', the most important late night TV show in Spain, and tonight the band celebrate the release of the album with a special show at Vortex in Siegen, Germany.

"On September 19th in 2012 we arrived at a venue called 'Vortex Surfer Musiklub' in Siegen, a small town in Germany. We played there, the venue got packed and everything about that night, including the warm welcome from everybody working there, was incredible. We fell in love with that small venue and the house next to it where we slept that night.

"Since then, we played Vortex five or six times and there has always been that same great fond feeling from the people there. So, this upcoming album is called 'Vortex'. We leave behind the roman numbers and want to use this as a way to thank all the promoters, people working in venues, labels, agencies, fans... and everyone who has helped us over the years to live this dream. We can't wait for you to hear some of the music"

Leonard Cohen in Concert 1972 - Unseen Footage and Sound Recordings From Legendary 1972 Tour Rediscovered!

London - Legendary Film Director Tony Palmer was in his archive looking for something completely different when he discovered a box of archive film and sound recordings from Leonard Cohen's famous 1972 tour, which formed the basis of the highly critically acclaimed, multi-prize winning and best-selling DVD "Bird On A Wire."

Concert material from the concerts in Stockholm, Paris and the Albert Hall, with Cohen at the height of his powers performing "Marianne," "Susanne," "Joan of Arc," "The Story of Isaac" and many other songs, is now being restored and edited together by Tony Palmer, who shot the original material.

This will be interspersed with more backstage film of the band on tour, and even some fresh interviews with Cohen himself all of which has remained unseen for over 45 years

These amazing audio and visual recordings will be released in a Limited Edition Deluxe and Standard versions exclusively through Pledge Music during the summer 2018

These releases will act as a companion recordings and film and will all add considerably to footage of the early part of Cohen's career. For which there is an increasing need since, apart from the film "Bird On A Wire," there is comparatively little widely available.

Founded in 2004, KARMIC JUGGERNAUT has spent the past 14 years pursuing the idea of creating music that exists without boundaries, that organically develops based on what a particular tune requires. This has led the band to evolve from an instrumental four piece outfit to a vocal 6 piece, with a further extended ensemble when required. The result is a collection of eclectic music that combines elements of psychedelic rock, symphonic rock, funk, jazz, blues, jamband, world music, and whatever other genres might be appropriate at the time.

Ultimately the band's website tags its music as "Progressive Freakout Fusion Rock." That sounds about right to us…

JEFF BECK Announces Additional Summer Shows - Touring Band Set....

Touring Band Announced: Vinnie Colaiuta, Rhonda Smith, Jimmy Hall and Vanessa Freebairn-Smith Set to Join

Los Angeles, CA (April 30, 2018) – JEFF BECK will embark on a 6-week U.S. tour this summer including seven solo shows in addition to the previously announced "Stars Align Tour," with Paul Rodgers and Ann Wilson of Heart. Joining BECK on this year's outing will be long-time collaborators, Vinnie Colaiuta (drums) and Jimmy Hall (vocals) as well as long touring partner, Rhonda Smith (bass) and newcomer, cellist Vanessa Freebairn-Smith.

Vinnie Colaiuta has frequently collaborated with BECK over the years, both in studio and live. Vinnie spent many years with Frank Zappa and most recently, he has toured with Sting, Herbie Hancock and Jeff. Jimmy Hall first worked with Jeff Beck on his 1985 Flash album, earning him a Grammy nomination for Best Male Vocalist in 1986. He has toured with Jeff frequently since 2014 including Jeff's 50-Year Celebration show at the Hollywood Bowl in 2017. Rhonda Smith spent many years as bassist and vocalist for Prince, she has also performed with Chaka Khan, Beyonce, T.I., Erykah Badu, Patti Austin, Larry Graham, Sheila E, George Clinton, Little Richard and many others. She has been a part of BECK's touring band since 2010. Vanessa Freebairn-Smith, a Los Angeles-based cellist and founding member of the Sonus Quartet, is new to BECK's touring band. Vanessa has had a diverse career playing on film and television scores, recording and playing live with artists from David Foster to Dangermouse and collaborating with artists and composers like Trent Reznor, Clint Mansell, Sarah McLachlan as well as touring with such artists as Sia, Josh Groban.

In other Jeff Beck news, Still On The Run: The Jeff Beck Story will be released on DVD & blu-ray on May 18, 2018 through Eagle Rock Entertainment. The film documents the history of a musical maverick and true innovator featuring extensive interviews with Jeff both at home and in his workshop, as well as interviews with Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Rod Stewart, David Gilmour, Ronnie Wood, Slash, Jan Hammer, Joe Perry, Beth Hart & many more.

In addition, his acclaimed Live At The Hollywood Bowl performance, released last year on multiple video and audio formats, is now available for the first time as a standalone 2-CD set and on May 25, the 180-gram 2-LP set will be released, both from Rhino.

Over the course of BECK's distinguished 50+ music career, he has earned an incredible 8 GRAMMY Awards, been ranked by Rolling Stone as one of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time," and been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame twice – once as a member of the Yardbirds and again as a solo artist. DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT – launch video for Regulator – Live in Plovdiv

On September 22nd, 2017, Devin Townsend Project played a special show at the Ancient Roman Theatre in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, celebrating the 20thanniversary of the landmark Ocean Machine album in full, as well as a set of fan-requested tracks alongside the Orchestra of Plovdiv State Opera. This concert was filmed, and on July 6th, 2018 it will see the light of day as 'Ocean Machine – Live at the Ancient Roman Theatre Plovdiv'.

This DVD is a really important part of my work to date, as it not only summarizes a large portion of my musical output, but also swings right back around to the first true solo album, Ocean Machine, with the original bassist, John Harder, joining me onstage.

When all is said and done, this DVD acts as a powerful swan song for this portion of my career, and I am excited for people to actually get the whole thing into their worlds.
