D PROJECT NEW ALBUM "BIG FACE"

The D project is back on track! If you liked "The Shimmering Lights" and "The Sagarmatha Dilemma" albums, then "Big Face" will shake you up. Once again, Stephane Desbiens's guitars leads the way to a memorable symphonic, progressive and sometimes plain basic rock experience. As always, Francis Foy acts as the producer. Nine tracks of intriguing and dramatic compositions calling upon guest artists such as bassist Tony Levin, Quidam's lead singer Bartek Kossowicz, keyboard virtuoso Lalle Larsson and keyboard player and singer Claire Vezina. Mastered by Andy Jackson of the Pink Floyd hall of fame, The "Big Face" album breaks new grounds and makes the D Project the symphonic prog band to watch in the coming year!
The album will be available to the general public and distributor beginning March 2011

Peter Gabriel joins Sudanese War Child's campaign for a peaceful referendum

After producing the string arrangements on ex-Sudanese war child Emmanuel Jal's We Want Peace charity single, music icon Peter Gabriel has joined a host of other celebrity names in raising awareness to ensure the Sudanese referendum on Sunday January 9th remains a peaceful affair.

"I have been horrified at the reports of the potential for civil war in the Sudan after the election," says Gabriel. "Emmanuel Jal is an inspiring and charismatic young musician and, considering most of the fighting in these wars is actually carried out by young people, I believe Emmanuel's impassioned campaign for peace will be much more likely to reach them."

Alongside Peter Gabriel, Jal has gathered further support from the likes of George Clooney, Alicia Keys, Kofi Annan, Jimmy Carter and Richard Branson, all of whom appear in the music video for We Want Peace, which was directed by Gabriel's daughter, Anna Gabriel. Annie Lennox and MC Hammer are also supporting Emmanuel's "We Want Peace" campaign via Twitter and Facebook.

Says Emmanuel Jal, It is a simple concept. If people around the world don't know what is happening in Sudan, their governments will not feel compelled to concern themselves, either. This Sunday, a referendum will take place in my country that will almost inevitably be controversial, causing anything from tension to wide-scale war and genocide... Had the world known that 6 million Jews would die during the Second World War then they would have done something about it. We need to shine as bright a light as possible on Sudan in the coming days so that the impending evil of war simply cannot prevail."

SERENITY Death & Legacy revealed!

After a long time of silence and really hard work for the band, SERENITY now completely reveals their upcoming concept album "Death & Legacy" including cover artwork, new promo pics and a presentation of all female guest singers on the album!

The outstanding artwork was created by Stefan Heilemann (Leave's Eyes, Atrocity, Sons of Seasons,') and represents the historical based concept dealing with famous characters such as Galileo Galilei, Sir Francis Drake, Marco Polo and many more. An angel of of death holding the book of time, symbolizing their legacy.

SERENITY found the perfect female counterpart to leadsinger Georg Neuhauser for a song called "The Chevalier" dealing with Giacomo Casanova. AILYN from famous norwegian band SIRENIA sings this duett and will also star as a main character in the upcoming SERENITY music video, ready to launch in January.

On the album Ailyn is joined by Charlotte Wessels from dutch band DELAIN and Amanda Somerville, fairly well known for her appearances on AVANTASIA, EPICA, KISKE,... All of them have absolutely beautiful voices and bring a new nuance to this all new SERENITY experience.

The band is also very happy to announce that Fabio D'Amore (yes - that's his real name!!!) joined the band as a full member! Fabio is extremely enthusiastic and is a great enrichment for all the things a band has to deal with.

Please take a look on our brandnew website www.serenity-band.com also and listen to the song "The Chevalier" and short samples of all other songs from the new masterpiece "Death & Legacy"! We really did everything to make this album stand out!!! More to come in the near future!

Devin Townsend Project Announces European Tour 2011

After announcing 6 UK dates for coming March 2011 already, Devin Townsend Project now announces a full blown European tour which will see the band playing 25 shows in 13 different countries. Mr Townsend, being hard at work to put the final touches to the upcoming albums ´Ghost´ and ´Deconstruction´ (both tentatively scheduled for a May release), commented:

"After another busy, busy, year, we have set ourselves up for an even busier one... and to be honest, I wouldn't have it any other way. I have just recently finished Ghost (record 4, the mellow one) and am currently up to my balls in Deconstruction (record 3, the heavy one... for which we are using the Prague Symphony Orchestra to make more ridiculous than it really needs to be :) and I've yet to get my goddamn garage cleaned, so yeah... things are busy. I love it. So I'd like to announce a European tour... it will be the first tour of many we are doing in 2011 and it starts March 3rd in the UK. It hits a bunch of spots in Europe, including some places I've never played but have always wanted to. I'm really, really, excited to play again, and we will bring new music as well as some special acoustic performances. The people who support it have been so gracious that it's a real pleasure to announce this. See you next year guys! I'll bring my gnarliest teeth and lumpiest head!

The band is set to perform a mixture of tracks from all four DTP albums and the Dutch and Finns will get a real treat as long time friend and main guest vocalist on 2009's "Addicted" record, Anneke van Giersbergen (Ex-The Gathering, Agua de Annique) will be joining the band on the last four dates of the tour to share vocal duties with Devin.

Toxic Smile - "I`M YOUR SAVIOUR" out on Jan, 1st 2011

Toxic Smile was founded by keyboard player Marek Arnold and drummer Daniel Zehe in January 1996. At this time both lived in Leipzig. The simple reason for starting the band was that they were fed up with playing student jazz all the time. In May 1996, guitarist Uwe Reinholz joined the band. However, it took another two years to find the right vocalist.

Since Larry B. entered Toxic Smile, his voice has been the special trademark of Toxic Smile's sound. The band was completed by bass player Robert Brenner in January 2000. Till this time some demo tapes had already been recorded and the group soon started working on their debut CD "Madness and Despair" (at foen studio).

On October 1st 2000, Toxic Smile released "MAD" (on F.act-records). The album was especially successful in Asia. BMG Seoul offered the band a major deal. Toxic Smile signed, of course!! Korean guitarist Ahn Hete supported the band as "special promotion guest" during their time with BMG. "MAD" was supplemented with a couple of new tracks and received a new master mix. In August 2001, after signing the contract with BMG South Korea, "M.A.D." was released in Asia.

At the same time Toxic Smile played a promotional tour in South Korea. From October 2001 to November 2002 Toxic Smile spent most of their time writing songs for their second album until the band separated from BMG due to various differences regarding the recorded material. From February - April 2003, their sophomore album was recorded by Marek and Uwe at Wizard studios. During July and August 2003 mixing and mastering of the album took place at Famous Kitchen studios (Andy Horn). "Retrotox Forte" was finally released on March 15th 2004 by Famous Kitchen. In the summer of 2004 the band started work on the classical project "Waldenburg".

In September 2004 Daniel suddenly left the band. Within two weeks Antonius Gruetzner was hired as Toxic Smile's new drummer. His first gig with the band was released on a limited DVD called "live at the Progparade V". In February 2005, the rehearsals for the classical DVD "Toxic Extension" took place and the recording eventually happened in Waldenburg on March 5th. In November 2006, the DVD "Toxic Smile in classic Extension" was released. During 2007 and 2008 all members worked more and more on their individual careers.

2008 Antonius left the band - not without recording drums for the upcoming EP. Marek took care of the recording and mixing of that record. The EP was released in June 2009 on Oliver Wenzler's label "Progressive Promotion". In the meantime, Robert Eisfeld, founder and owner of "Dresdner Drumfestival" has taken over drum duties. FASTEN YOUR SEAT BELTS ! New album " I'm your saviour" will be released in Jan 2011!

“Ole Lukkoye - NEW ALBUM

The "Ole Lukkoye" Project (OL) has been living and developing since 1993 when its first album Zapara came out. Boris Bardash created a group belonging to a musical trend which turned out to be very difficult to define, though the group's music was undoubtedly contemporary. There was one thing common about the estimations of this music – the use of the word "psychedelia" in the sense of "clarifying the mind", but no precise label such as reggae, trip-hop, jazz, rock, etc. had been found. The main thing about the OL group has always been a powerful rhythmic base consisting of electronical loops and sequences along with live instruments – from the African jamba and the Turkish darabuka to the shaman drum. The combination of the sounds that belong to different ethnic cultures and the contemporary rock instruments paradoxically doesn't create a sense of eclecticism. The musicians don't play the music of this or that country but they create the language of their own images which is common for all nations, for the roots, the source, the oldest motherland. That seemed strange in the cold northern city of St Petersburg. So OL was taken as some natures wonder existing on its own. At different moments, according to the set task, the OL Project co-operated with musicians playing various instruments: bassoon, rubab, bass guitar, cello, banjo, trumpet, bayan (Russian accordion), etc. When Sergey "Macho" Kuznetsov joined the group he added visual elements (such as video performance, computer animation) to the music; thus the OL Project acquired an extra dimension. Beginning with 1994 OL has been touring Europe a lot. The tours and festivals in Norway, Germany, Denmark, Austria, Croatia, Slovenia, Sweden, Poland, Belgium, Czechia, Slovakia, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Hungary, Finland brought the group constant friends and admirers. After their successful performance at Burg Herzberg Open Air '99 the OL musicians got to know the legendary cult German group "Faust". The result of this co-operation was the issue of the OL album "The Crystal Crow-Bar" with the "KLANGBAD" label in 2000 (recorded and produced by Johen Irmler, the leader of the "Faust" group). The artistic friendship between Klangbad and OL has lasted until now, and in the summer of 2004 a fresh album is planned to be recorded by the OL Project at the new Klangbad studio. By now the OL group has issued 8 albums: 5 studio ones and 3 live ones. By the moment of the creating of OL Boris Bardash (BB) was not only a mature musician. His interests were much wider: philosophy, ethnography, archaeology. In his music all this becomes one magic alloy which goes deep through the ethnic motifs and archetypal signs to the spiritual roots of the mankind and then ascends high. But the way there always runs through the heart. The music of OL works on many levels of the mind, of the subconscious or of the mere aesthetic feeling. In BB's songs there are no precepts at all, on the contrary – many of them are written in a language that doesn't exist. In a paradoxical way this language turns out to be understood by listeners of many countries. And many people feel nostalgia for some lost homeland. The OL's audience is not at all limited by age, it's quite various and even paradoxical in its composition. Some consider OL an excellent rhythmic group with music to which one can dance with pleasure. Other people take this music as meditation and an impulse to travel beyond the borders of everyday life and limitations. And the most incredible group of admirers are the deaf and dumb people who attend the concerts by OL in St Petersburg and come home feeling happy. It isn't known how the music affects them. Many people consider this to be witchcraft but it's more right to call it magic, or inner alchemy; and OL are people who have come too close to the fire.

Ole Lukkoye now are:
Boris BARDASH – programming, keyboards, voice, guitars, lyrics, percussion, buben, samples FROL – bassoons, jaleika, samples, dramatic voice
Yuri LUKIYANCHIK – jembe, darrabuk, tom-toms, vocal

Now you can download our albums from a site http://olelukkoye.kroogi.com/. In the same place you can contribute to OLE LUKKOYE as much as you want.

PEGAZUS honours Philip Lynott

This upcoming January 4, 2011 we remember the 25th anniversary of the passing of Thin Lizzy's Phil Lynott. The Australian Heavy Metallers of PEGAZUS would like to contribute to keep the memory of this legendary rocker alive. Therefore, they have decided that on January 4 their song "Ballad Of A Thin Man" will be available for free download at the following location :  http://thinman.metalrevelation.com/

The song "Ballad Of A Thin Man" has been taken from PEGAZUS' album "The Headless Horseman", which was released in 2002 through Nuclear Blast.

Founding member of the band and songwriter/singer of the song Johnny Stoj about Phil Lynott, Thin Lizzy and "Ballad Of A Thin Man" : "The PEGAZUS song 'Ballad Of A Thin Man' was written just over 10 years ago around the middle of the year 2000. A month before that we were asked by our record label if we would like to contribute a cover song of Thin Lizzy for an up coming tribute album, so of course we said yes and ended up recording 'Warriors' and submitted that for the tribute CD.

But after recording that cover song, it actually dawned on me that we needed to do something that was more than just covering a Thin Lizzy song, I mean this is a band that all of us in PEGAZUS grew up listening to as huge fans, and the inspiration and influence that I personally got as a songwriter and musician myself just from listening to Thin Lizzy and Phil Lynott's songs was indescribable. That's when I knew that I had to create an original song that was a real tribute and a form of true respect for one of the world's greatest ever rock n' roll heroes.

The music in 'Ballad Of A Thin Man' is meant to capture the typical Lizzy attitude with the riffs and twin guitar harmonies and the lyrics were simply created into an original story made from Thin Lizzy's song titles and some of Phil's cool song characters like Johnny The Fox and Jimmy The Weed.

The very first demo version of this song was actually sent to Ms Philomena Lynott back in 2000 and the response I personally got back in letter was ever so praiseful for the song, even suggesting that, "If Philip were alive he would love it too", put simply, I was so happy and over the moon.

Anyway, the song wasn't meant to be released as a PEGAZUS song but our record label at the time insisted strongly that it be included on our band's studio album that we were also recording at that time, so it was released officially on our album 'The Headless Horseman' in 2002.

So many years have passed since and so many requests still to hear the song have surfaced again, so we have decided that seeing that it is a special moment ahead this coming 4th January 2011, it's the 25th anniversary of Philip's passing and a celebration of his life. We would love to share this special tribute song of ours with all fans of Philip Lynott, Thin Lizzy and just rock fans in general with this absolute free download of BALLAD OF A THIN MAN.

Enjoy the tune, rock hard and remember to raise a glass in memory of Philip, "The Emerald Isle's Rocking Renegade!"

The Musical Box - The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway live - 2011/2012

The lamb returns! In the second half of 2011 The Musical Box are going out again to present the legendary Genesis show for The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway. It will be pure Lamb show, that is, just like Genesis used to play it in 1974 and 1975. The Musical Box have last played this show in Europe in early 2006. We cannot say much about the line-up of the band, but major surprises are unlikely. The tour begins in the United States in autumn 2011 and continues in Europe in winter.

TenMidight's third Album

"The City of Angels", a sci-fi concept album. A heart that keeps on beating with the help of the MiniMoog's sound. Homages to Tarkus and Wakeman inbetween the solos. A song for Vocoder. Crying guitars. Twelve voiced choirs. A 50ies radio. Thunders in the dark. Flute, violin and Mellotron. A return to the main theme with a Theremin. This is more than a record. This is true  progressive adventure.
