Paul Di'Anno records an official live DVD in Poland!
Paul Di'Anno, the legendary vocalist, returns to Poland this week to play a string of live shows as part of the Doładowanie Festival 2014. The festival is an annual non-profit initiative of young Polish musicians and consists of 5 concerts in five Polish cities: Warszawa, Krosno, Kraków, Wrocław and Łódź. Di'Anno's show at Lizard Club in Kraków on April, 9th will be recorded for the purposes of a future live DVD release!
This English singer is best known as the first vocalist to record with the iconic band Iron Maiden, from 1978 to 1981. Despite world-wide success lurking just around the corner, Di'Anno departed from the band by the fall of 1981 (he's since admitted that he was partying a bit too hard around the time of his departure from Maiden). However, Di'Anno's unique and extremely powerful voice had made a huge impression on rock music fans the world over, and also gained him an army of fans due to the sales of more than 20 million copies of the first two Iron Maiden albums ("Iron Maiden" & "Killers") featuring Paul's unique vocal talent.
In his post-Maiden career, Di'Anno has issued numerous albums, both as a solo artist and as a member of such bands as Gogmagog, Battlezone and Killers, and he has been featured (either as the artist or as a guest) on more than 60 albums released world-wide.

As a confirmed icon of the metal genre Di'Anno is constantly gigging (with his various bands) throughout all of Europe, USA, Canada, Central & South America, Australia, Asia etc.
Di'Anno has even had time to have his first full sized and highly acclaimed Book/Autobiography released entitled "The Beast", which is a no holds barred journey through his turbulent and often disturbing car crash lifestyle, throughout the last two decades.
Although he only appeared on the first two Maiden albums, Maiden's work with Paul Di'Anno remains among metal's all-time finest, and to this day those two albums are idolized and thought of as "The All Time Classics" by most Metal fans and musicians alike throughout the World.

Noturnall inducted into Brazilian's The RockWalk Of Fame
Band is formed by members of Angra and Shaman

Noturnall, the new brazilian supergroup formed by the Shaman members Thiago Bianchi (vocal), Fernando Quesada (bass), Leo Mancini (guitar), Junior Carelli (keyboards) and the worldwide famous drummer Aquiles Priester (Hangar, ex-Angra), is confirming why it has been considered the new sensation of the Brazilian rock/metal scene.
After the resounding success that was the sold-out show realized in March in Sao Paulo that counted with the special participation of the Symphony X and Adrenaline Mob vocalist, Russell Allen, the band now noticed its induction into the Brazilian's RockWalk Of Fame.
The Brazilian RockWalk Of Fame is the local version of the original RockWalk Of Fame located on the Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood (USA) where are unforgettable names like Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Elvis Presley, John Lennon, among others. The Brazilian version of The RockWalk, like the American original, aims to perpetuate the greatest representatives of the Brazilian rock, although it is an itinerant sidewalk being displayed across the country through special events.
Have been immortalized on the Brazilian RockWalk some major bands and rock musicians of the country such as Mutantes, Sepultura, Dr. Sin, Shaman and now Noturnall.
The cerimony of induction will happen on the next April, 27th in the city of Limeira/Brazil. The band will play a special pocket-show for this event.
"To participate in this important Brazilian rock event is an honor! Even more for the second time, since we were also included in the Brazilian RockWalk for our job in Shaman, so we are the only Brazilian musicians to appear twice in the project! A double honor! We're very happy with the recognition of our work by people and so important music critics. Hope to see you in Limeira." said bassist Fernando Quesada.
Besides the cerimony of the RockWalk, Noturnall prepares for the next shows in promotion of its self-titled debut album.
Recorded at Fusao VM&T Studios in Sao Paulo and at The Shanty Shack Studios in New Jersey (USA), Noturnall's debut album has Russell Allen as one of the producers and for five consecutive weeks the album held the first position among the Best Sellers of Die Hard Records - one of the major Brazilian CDs stores - besides have beaten the record for pre-orders. The album also appeared on the second position on the charts of Roadie Crew Magazine, the most important rock magazine from Brazil, achieving better position than bands like Within Temptation and Epica.
Among other news, Noturnall's drummer Aquiles Priester had his most recent DVD "Aquiles Priester's Top 100 Drum Fills" elected as "Best Educational DVD" by Modern Drummer magazine. This was the first time that a Brazilian drummer took first place in the ranking.

Prog Duo Days Between Stations Release Limited Edition Vinyl Of Critically Acclaimed Album 'In Extremis'
Los Angeles, CA - Much to the excitement of vinyl enthusiasts around the globe, prog duo Days Between Stations have released their critically acclaimed new album 'In Extremis' on a limited edition DBL LP!
Says guitarist Sepand Samzadeh, "We put a great deal of emphasis on creating a mood by way of sonic textures. The CD was mastered so that the listener could CRANK THE VOLUME ON THE STEREO. If you really want to hear THE COMPLEXITY OF ALL THE LAYERS AND SONIC TEXTURES, the vinyl record is the way to go."
Possibly the most anticipated prog release of 2013, Days Between Stations sophomore album 'In Extremis' was released on May 15, 2013. Boasting an incredible guest line-up of music legends featuring Colin Moulding (XTC), Rick Wakeman (YES), Peter Banks (YES/Flash) Tony Levin (King Crimson/Peter Gabriel) and Billy Sherwood (YES/CIRCA:), Days Between Stations reached a new level of creative artistry on their second release.
Founded in 2003 by guitarist Sepand Samzadeh and keyboardist Oscar Fuentes, the duo named themselves after the cult novel by Steve Erickson and have devoted themselves to, as they say, Art Rock and Post Prog - music that reflects their varied influences, as well as shared disregard for stylistic boundaries. This eclecticism continues apace on 'In Extremis'. At times the music recalls Peter Gabriel or 'Duke'-era Genesis (as on the propulsive "Visionary", which features Sherwood's multi-layered vocals and Levin's driving Stick bass work), or an ambient marriage between Pink Floyd and Lisa Gerrard and Debussy ("In Utero"), or even a cross between Ultravox and Marillion and 'Abacab'-era Genesis (the Moulding-sung "The Man Who Dies Two Times").
Here's what the press has raved about 'In Extremis'
"The fact that Rick Wakeman, Tony Levin and Peter Banks help create this majestic piece of symphonic prog only made this a stronger contender for prog album of the year." - Mark Johnson, Sea of Tranquility
"Indeed, Days Between Stations nestles an artsy approach into its repertoire, often contrasting the soloists' tenacious yet purposeful excursions, and seeded by the leaders' wide-ranging agenda." - Glenn Astarita, All About Jazz
"But the late Yes founder (Peter Banks) is just the beginning of the dark-hued wonders to be found on this neo-prog triumph. Accessing an endlessly fascinating palette that also takes in ambient and classically inspired moments, Oscar Fuentes and Sepand Samzadeh brilliantly explore themes of life, and death, and everything in between." - Nick Deriso, Something Else Reviews
"Here's an album that deserves a place in everyone's record collection. The superb artwork and quality of the booklet and packaging makes it a must-buy as opposed to (legal) download, for me at least. Support truly great musicians going out on a limb to bring you truly great, original progressive rock music as good as some of the classics." - Brian Watson, DPRP
"Days Between Stations have really matured into a first class symphonic prog band with the music created on In Extremis. There are so many wonderful moments where the music takes flight and goes in completely unexpected directions. And that's one of the things we've come to love about prog. In Extremis fulfills all musical expectations in that sense." - Jerry Lucky

Dutch Rock Legends FOCUS Release New Album 'Golden Oldies' On April 14, 2014
London, UK – Dutch rock legends Focus will be releasing their eagerly awaited new album on April 14, 2014. Titled 'Golden Oldies', the new release features re-recordings of classic Focus tracks, featuring "Hocus Pocus", "Sylvia", "House Of The King" and others. Focus has recently embarked on a world tour in support of their forthcoming album.
Thijs Van Leer explains, "Producing 'Golden Oldies' is tricky. Both the die hard Fans and the 2014 Focus-members were having doubts about this enterprise, because we didn't know if the recent recordings would match the original material, notwithstanding the fact that we had so much fun in doing the session, quick, romantic, virtuoso, full of funny moments & profoundness; But... the final mix turns out to be fantastic and we all are proud to release this album at our earliest convenience!! Halleluya!!!"
With their unique brand of progressive rock, Focus manifested themselves at the start of the '70s as the most successful and appreciated of all the Dutch pop-rock exports. Fronted by founding member Thijs Van Leer, and best known for their hits "Hocus Pocus", "House of The King" and "Sylvia", the iconic Dutch music masters are back with their new album, which is guaranteed to please their legions of fans!
After a comeback in the early 2000's, the band has gone from strength to strength, with their last studio album 'Focus X' still receiving considerable support from music fans across multiple genres. Along with Thijs van Leer on vocals, flute and keyboards, back on the drums is beloved Focus drummer Pierre van der Linden, who joined the group on their second album 'Moving Waves' in 1972.
Internationally renowned for his rhythmic skills, Pierre remains a defining factor in the Focus sound. Bassist Bobby Jacobs, who comes from a well-acclaimed Dutch musical family and guitarist Menno Gootjes, who participated in Focus at an earlier stage, complete the band's current line-up.
Most recently, the group's 1972 worldwide hit "Hocus Pocus" was featured in the major motion picture 'Robocop' starring Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman and Michael Keaton.

Blues Guitarist Eli Cook To Release New CD Featuring Guest Appearances by Leslie West, Pat Travers, Harvey Mandel, Artimus Pyle, Vinny Appice, Tinsley Ellis, Rod Piazza, Eric Gales and members of Gov't Mule & Double Trouble
"Eli is on his way!" - Leslie West
Los Angeles, CA – Much to the anticipation of blues music aficionados worldwide, acclaimed blues guitarist Eli Cook will be releasing his new CD titled 'Primitive Son' on April 29, 2014 on Cleopatra Records. Making this eagerly awaited release even more exciting is the inclusion of legendary guest artists such as Leslie West of Mountain, Pat Travers, Artimus Pyle (Lynyrd Skynyrd), Harvey Mandel, Eric Gales, Reese Wynans of Double Trouble, Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath, Ronnie James Dio), Tinsley Ellis, Rod Piazza and Jorgon Carlson of Gov't Mule! The legendary Son House (1902-1988) was known to say "Blues is a feelin'". Eli Cook's music expresses that same raw honesty in a unique blend of contemporary and old-school styles, creating an original sound at the fore-front of modern Blues and Rock.
Says Eli, " 'Primitive Son' is a mix of modern and old-school blues with contemporary topics and an emphasis on lyricism and arrangement in an epic bar-rock format. With production and vibe, much of the material was constructed be a kind of 'Exile on Main St' with modern recording and songs, type-of-thing. There are a few more slick production pieces that we pushed in an almost cinematic direction for dramatic effect, and that comes from me being a film score nut. I like creating dynamic arrangements with limited instrumentation."
"I have heard quite a few guitar players that are young and just starting out. When I was asked to play a track with Eli Cook I wanted to see if there was something there. Believe me when I tell you THERE IS SOMETHING THERE! I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I did playing on it. Eli is on his way!" -Leslie West
Eli took up the guitar as a teenager in the Blue Ridge foothills of Virginia. Following the tradition of the great blues men, he performed in churches and late-night gospel revivals with only his acoustic and deep baritone voice, while playing every hole-in-the-wall bar that could handle his electric power trio. Blending the influences of John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Fred MacDowell, Bukka White and Lightning Hopkins with the likes of Clutch, Soundgarden, C.O.C, and Rage against the Machine, he forged a fresh sound, alive with the southern blues tradition.
Eli recorded and released his first two albums between 2004 and 2007: the all-acoustic, original-roots album 'Miss Blues' Child' on the Sledgehammer Blues label, and a heavy blues-rock release 'ElectricHolyFireWater'. During this time he was invited to open for B.B. King on King's east coast tour. Since then, Eli has shared the stage with Johnny Winter, Robert Cray, Parliament-Funkadellic, Gary Clark JR, Roomful of Blues and many others. In 2008, Eli released his third self-produced album, 'Static in the Blood', a modern R&B/Rock crossover project featuring ornate experimental studio production. The follow up album, 'Ace Jack & King', a return to roots-blues and heavy guitars, received critical acclaim. The All Music Guide proclaimed that Eli could be "the best blues singer of his generation."
In 2013, Eli signed with LA-based label Cleopatra Records to begin work on his 5th studio album, 'Primitive Son', featuring guest appearances by rock and blues legends! Now, much to the excitement of Eli's fans worldwide, the wait is over!
Eli has been earning rave reviews from both critics and fellow blues musicians alike - Tinsley Ellis called him a "triple threat, obviously a great guitarist but also an emotive singer and an innovative songwriter. He's in the vanguard of young, 21st century blues rockers!"
"I was honored to record for Eli's new cd. The track is destined for stardom, as is Eli!" - Rod Piazza
Says Eli, "The label was instrumental in getting the guest stars on board, though they did have to approve of the material before agreeing to collaborate. It's nice when people like Leslie West, Eric Gales and Tinsley Ellis dig your songs and get inspired to rock out on them!"

Eric Clapton's 1985 Comeback Album 'Behind The Sun' Released on Hybrid SACD
"...another great recording...perhaps the most experimental of his career"
Camarillo, CA - Eric Clapton fans are buzzing with excitement over the release of his critically acclaimed 1985 comeback album 'Behind The Sun' on limited numbered edition Hybrid SACD on Marshall Blonstein's Audio Fidelity! The musical climate had changed dramatically from the days Eric Clapton had topped the charts in the '70s. 'Behind The Sun' is not his first album of the decade, but he obviously understood it was time to modernize his sound. After signing with Warner Brothers in 1983, Clapton bounced back on the music charts for the first time in five years, and solidified his return in 1985 with the instant success of 'Behind The Sun' his ninth album.
Backed with a line-up of stellar musicians and producers Lenny Waronker, Rod Templeman and Phil Collins, Clapton for the first time in years now had several songs that reached a wider audience scoring Top 40 hits with "Forever Man" and "See What Love Can Do." He didn't abandon his old music, he just blended it more effectively and brought the flavor up to date by mastering the more electronic sound of '80s radio.
This album also had a heavy soul flavor with a really well produced version of Eddie Floyd's "Knock On Wood" and Clapton remained true to the blues with a brilliant eight minute track, "Same Old Blues" which contains some of his most electric playing of the era.
The sessions featured Toto guitarist Steve Lukather and former drummer Jeff Porcaro, as well as Clapton's long-time collaborators, drummer Jamie Oldaker, bassist Nathan East and keyboardist Greg Phillinganes. Clapton's voice had a rich new depth, like whiskey aged to perfection. The recording showcased blistering guitar solos, a high-octane R&B beat and a slick synthesizer-backed production, that was well-suited for the pop-rock market - The Guitar God was now serenading to a new generation of admirers and fans alike.
"Back in the spotlight...this comeback album is an underrated classic - Don't miss out on this gem!"

California Breed release video for "Midnight Oil"
The celebrated hard rock power trio, California Breed, which consists of Glenn Hughes (vocals, bass), Jason Bonham (drums) and Andrew Watt (guitar), today release the official lyric video for their current single Midnight Oil.
The video can be viewed, shared and embedded from this link - www.youtube.com/watch?v=qF_pm7mLqXs.
The song will also be available as an instant grat track by pre-ordering the album exclusively from iTunes worldwide via this link: http://smarturl.it/CaliforniaBreed.
The animated lyric video was created by Nev Todoroic who spearheads the interactive media production company The Young Astronauts.
Says California Breed’s guitarist, Andrew Watt - "We wanted a lyric video that would make people want to watch this song in addition to just listen to it, one that would highlight the bombastic grooves of the track and convey the rhythm of the message. I turned to my friends, the Young Astronauts, whose previous videos have hundreds of millions of views, but they don’t work with a lot of rock bands and I thought THAT’S the magic, right there."
“It’s a refreshing animated video that really captures the lyrical concert and message of the Midnight Oil single,” says California Breed’s vocalist and bassist, Glenn Hughes. “We didn’t want to make a run-of-the-mill lyric video. The animation perfectly captures the raw energy, lyrical content and the message of what Midnight Oil is really all about... rock n roll!!”
Midnight Oil is UK’s first single taken from California Breed’s self-titled debut album released by Frontiers Records in Europe on May 16th, and in the UK and US on May 19th. Produced in Nashville, Tennessee by Dave Cobb (Rival Sons, Shooter Jennings) the album features 23-year-old guitarist Andrew Watt, who was originally introduced to Glenn Hughes by Julian Lennon at a party in LA in 2013.
California Breed are planning a UK and European tour in September. Tour dates will be announced shortly. Visit the official California Breed UK press page HERE.

Imagery on tour with Focus in Brazil
IMAGERY has surprised even the most optimistic forecast. Definitely! After all, who would expect that a power trio from the countryside of Brazil who plays progressive rock mixed with heavy metal and jazz would reap many fruits with so little time of career and just one album released?
It all started with the release show of "The Inner Journey", their debut album, which came during the opening for Focus, the legendary progressive rock group, in 2012.
Then, the impact of the album in the national press might not have been better. In numerous reviews, the record received maximum rates, including Rock On Stage that also published that Imagery "owes nothing to bands such as Dream Theater." "The Inner Journey" was also nominated for Dynamite Prize as one of the "Best Brazilian Heavy Metal Albums" of 2012.
Last year, Imagery gave one of the most important steps in its career that was the signing of a distribution agreement with the U.S. label Cleopatra Records (Tangerine Dream, Nektar, Hawkwind) that already released the album "The Inner Journey" in North America, Europe and Asia.
Soon, super positive reviews started to be published in the international press. The U.S. site Critical Jazz stated that Imagery "is one of the few bands working in the field of progressive rock with the ability to keep the music fresh and revigorating."
Now the year 2014 has barely begun and the band has announced another major achievement: Imagery will perform three more shows with Focus in the new Brazilian tour of the band that starts today!
The Dutch progressive rock giants have landed in Brazil for another series of shows, this time with dates in Sao Paulo, Curitiba, Rio de Janeiro, Florianopolis, Catanduva and Belo Horizonte. Imagery will make the opening acts for Focus today, April 9th, at John Bull in Florianopolis; tomorow, April 10th in Curitiba, also at John Bull; and on April 17th at Sesc in Catanduva.
"Having played with Focus in 2012 was the realization of a dream, and have the opportunity to repeat that in this new tour, in three shows, is surreal," says Imagery's vocalist and guitarist, Joceir Bertoni.
Besides these three shows with Focus, Imagery will also play two aditional shows in Brazil this weekend as part of the tour: Friday at Bar do Boris in Vinhedo/SP and Saturday at the 12º Loucos Por Vinil Fair in Embu das Artes/SP.

Pontus Gunve Will Play the Battle of the Boroughs 2014
Gunve Will Play in the Brooklyn Portion on June 6th
April 10th, 2014, New York, New York – Pontus Gunve and band will be appearing at the Brooklyn portion of the Battle of the Boroughs. They will compete with twelve other acts for the right to play at the Ultimate Battle on June 27th. The winner of that final battle will get bragging rights and prizes - including a showcase appearance at the famed Apollo Theater.
Pontus Gunve’s music embraces the theory that music is a multi-dimensional experience and an adventure in wordless storytelling that fully absorbs the audience’s mind, body and spirit. Flowing through time and space, the lush sonic textures he creates evoke the ethereal landscapes of other-worldly multi-media artists such as Jean Michel Jarre and Boards of Canada while still clearly inspired by the thick, dark compositional textures of legendary heavy metal bands like Megadeth. And his energy as a guitarist celebrates numerous influences, from the technical proficiency of Steve Vai and the raw, exotic approach of Marty Friedman, to the minimalistic moments created by legendary blues performers. Gunve’s finely-tuned skills in the studio as both a producer and engineer allow him to seamlessly unify many different musical styles and a wide range of instruments into intricately-crafted, mesmerizing recordings resonating with unexpected surprises.
Looking to reviewers can give us more insight into that sound. At Music Street Journal, Jason Hillenburg said of Gunve’s latest disc, “There are few musicians in the mold of Pontus Gunve. Rarely content to rely on the traditional, but instead plundering it for his own uses, Gunve brings a European sensibility to dense, intensely musical instrumentals. His album, The Observer, ranks as one of the most challenging and, ultimately, rewarding releases of the year.” Scott Kahn had this to say of the single “Cavalry of Camels” at MusicPlayers.com: "World Music meets Prog Metal in the latest single from Pontus Gunve. This is big orchestral stuff that rocks thanks to the solid guitar and drums anchoring the complex rhythms. The percussion and string section really give the music its international, ethnic vibe... Melodic, rocking, beautifully produced... I'm not fully sure how we'd categorize it, but we definitely enjoy listening to it." At Mr. Music Chronicles, Larry Toering said, “There is just no describing the sheer quality on offer here. It's something one must hear for themselves to really dig into properly, so it comes highly recommended… I will be not only recommending for years to come, I will be following this artist’s progress from here out.”

Pendragon News
The Mick Pointer Band (featuring Nick Barrett) celebrated the 30th Anniversary of "Script for a Jester's Tear" at the Boerderij, Zoetermeer last year not only was it a night of great fun but the band were on fire!
So much so that Mick Pointer has recently released a live album of the event. At Pendie HQ we think it's utterly fabulous, but don't just take our word for it, here's what other Pendragon fans have to say...
AL - "One of my criteria for a great gig is that the musicians play with passion, this recording captures that, and it is obvious that not only the crowd, but the band as well are totally enjoying themselves. "
AP - "I am a huge fan of Script, and was delighted when I got the chance to see and hear The Script Gigs. The attention to detail in the performance, and the quality of the music is sublime. This version captures the magic of the live event- Featuring the not insignificant talents of some of Progressive Rocks finest Under the banner of "the Mick Pointer Band" Brian does a damn good fish impression, whilst I could sit and listen to Nick Barretts soaring guitar work all day long. This is a great live album, if you already have Script in your collection- you need this as well! "
TG -"It is one of the best live albums I heard in recent years. Everything is spot on: great recording, good crowd and an incredible 'live' feel that most of the more recent live albums seem to miss. You can tell it's the last performance at their favorite venue - De Boerderij. Raw, emotional and above all serious fun. Like the gig itself... This is more than a tribute album, this is one of the founder members of Marillion with some very talented friends - Nick Barrett, Brian Cummins, Mick Pointer, Ian Salmon and Mike Varty at the top of their game - respectfully recreating one of the great albums of my past..."
So, what are you waiting for? If you want to get yourself a copy of this stunning album you can order it from Mick direct by going here and if you're more than a little miffed that you missed these shows you can sing your hearts out and see the guys live once more at the Boerderij 20th December 2014.

Metal Mind Productions is proud to announce the release of the seventh studio album by Corruption entitled "Devil's Share". With this album, the masters of stoner metal return to Metal Mind Productions' roster. Piotr "Anioł" Wącisz, the band's leader and bass player, comments: "During our previous co-operation with Metal Mind, we recorded three studio albums and a live DVD and played an amazing show next to Deep Purple. I am very glad we got an opportunity to work again with the label that is responsible for Corruption's existence and evolution. I hope the release of our brand new album, "Devil's Share", will be a huge success. For me personally, it's a very important event because it proves that Corruption, which I manage, keeps evolving, now with new excellent musicians in the line-up: Dani, Rutkoś and Vincent. Thank you!"
The band was formed in 1991 in Sandomierz, Poland, and after four years released its debut album "Ecstasy". Their second studio album, "Bacchus Songs", was released in 1996.
