EXCLUSIVE WORLD PREMIERE OF NEW IMAGES OF EDEN SONG “CROSSES IN THE SAND”
Crosses in the Sand by Images of Eden
Lead singer Gordon Tittsworth: "Rebuilding The Ruins is a concept CD about gaining wisdom/ strength from our past experiences and overcoming traumatic events in our lives until we learn all that we are here on this Earth to learn. Only then is it time to move on …"
"'Crosses In The Sand'" is the first track off of Rebuilding The Ruins, which picks up exactly where 'Midnight's Tide' left off (the final track on the previous CD, 'Sunlight of the Spirit'). The song is (in a broad sense) about forgiving yourself for something in your past that haunts you, specifically from a traumatic decision you may have made that inevitably turned into a huge regret. The song is actually written about something specific, but written in a way to open the door of interpretation to others. The 'crosses' that I'm referring are actually metaphors for 'headstones' covering our past demons and regrets. Being carved 'in the sand' represents the fact they they are not permanent markings, and that we can get beyond them, essentially 'let the waves wash them away' until they are completely erased from our memory (or conscience). Essentially, we lay our regrets to rest and 'bury them in the sand.' This goes back to the quote on the CD tray card of, 'There are times when war is absolutely necessary in order to achieve peace, especially if this war is internal. Our wounds will never heal if we cannot bleed.'"

"Summers End" Festival 2011 Announces Arena and K2
The Summers End Festival, which will take place at Lydney Town Hall on October 7, 8, 9 2011, is pleased to announce the first two bands to take the stage this year.
"We are thrilled that Arena will headline the Saturday night of the Festival. The band will need no introduction to most prog fans, and with Messrs Pointer, Nolan, Mitchell and Salmon now joined by the superb Paul Manzi on lead vocals and a new album in the works, this year will see the band active once more. This will be a rare chance to see the band live in the UK in 2011".
http://www.verglas.com/ArenaWorld/index.htm
Following the hugely successful appearance of Phideaux in 2010, they are delighted to announce that they have another US band this year, the terrific K2. The brainchild of bassist Ken Jaquess, the band also boasts the talents of Spock's Beard's much-loved Ryo Okumoto on keyboards plus new members Josh Gleason (vocals) and Karl Johnson (guitar), who all perform on the band's excellent second album "Black Garden" released last year.
Don't forget our Sister Festival FUSED – prog and symphonic metal – taking place at Lydney on April 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Early booking is recommended! Full details at: ww.fusedfestival.co.uk

Axiom and new old video and recording new album
Check out our new old video of "Models for God" from 2008's A Means to an End here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJDUTHmrNcE&tracker=False
Bio
In November 2002, drummer Justin Herzer answered a musicians classified ad on a local music website posted by guitarist Scott Whisenhunt. As they played they began to form their own style of music; borrowing from their inspirations and heroes like Black Sabbath, Metallica, Tool, Pink Floyd and the Beatles. What they created was a form of progressive metal, with a passion and seriousness unheard of in today's musical climate. To label their project, they used a name that would describe the music, content, and ideals they wanted their work to represent: Axiom.
After building a fan base in the Sacramento area, Axiom recorded their first non-demo CD in the form of the "Alpha-Omega EP." The 7-song EP was released in June 2006 to local music retailers, local radio, and online digital music stores. To continue their do-it-yourself work ethic, Axiom planned a month-long tour of the west coast to promote the "Alpha-Omega EP". With their new bassist, John Coffee, the tour would take the band as far north as Boise, as far south as Las Vegas, as far east as Reno and as far west as San Jose.
In 2008, the band released their first full length album, A Means to an End, to recieve generally positive reviews from the press. As we sink into 2009, the band continues on their mission to change the world. Axiom is a band that will always embrace what's to come and never fear change. Axiom is a band that will never fail to explore their music, grow, and reinvent themselves without losing sight of where they came from. With their unwavering convictions and uncompromising ideals, Axiom have proven themselves unstoppable in their attempt to leave a mark on this world; and with music as their weapon, maybe help to change things for the better. In this day-in-age of image selling, regurgitating trends and passing fads, Axiom hold on to the belief that artistic integrity, creativity, and idealistic dreams are things that still matter.Justin Herzer Drums

SHADOWMAN - "Watching Over You"
Produced by Steve Morris / Mixed by Tommy Hansen
It has been seven years since the debut album by Shadowman was released ("Land of the Living" ESM098). The album was warmly received by all who had a penchant for good old British melodic hard rock. As you would expect Shadowman had elements of both Heartland and FM deeply embedded in its grooves, yet it was highly original and often touted as the best British melodic release of 2004.
Shadowman are a band that is all about great rock music who will win you over with charm. Quality rock music is so hard to find these days and it is reassuring to know that it hasn't lost its way. "Ghost in the Mirror" (ESM179), the band's third release in 2008 is an extension of the band's already established sound, with some clever twists on the way. Three albums under their belt and how can the band hone that sound into something that little bit more special?
Enter "Watching Over You", a brand new release for 2011. These boys just mature nicely as time passes and new songs like "Renegades", "Waiting for a miracle" and "Are you Ready" will set pulses racing. Once again Tommy Hansen is at the mixing desk, his capabilities need no introduction. This new release is set to be a top ten contender for 2011!

TCP Releases Second Album on 10T Records Entitled “Fantastic Dreamer”
TCP is back! 10T Records is proud to announce the pending release of the new full length CD by TCP, entitled Fantastic Dreamer on April 11, 2011, with a retail street date following on June 15th. TCP is a project based around the collective artistry of Henry Tarnecky (vocals), Blake Tobias (keyboards, bass), and Jack Wright (guitars, drums). This new progressive release includes guests Tom Shiben (bass), Nicole Tarnecky (backup vocals), and features Glenn Arpino (keys) along with his epic piece,Vision.
TCP's 2009 debut CD, The Way, was a critical success that landed the band on many top 10 lists for the year. Fantastic Dreamer sees them further refine their sound, adding depth and layers to the foundation previously established. Deftly blending elements of classic-era and modern progressive rock, the nine tracks that make up Fantastic Dreamer showcase a haunting and emotive blend of vocals with layers of soaring guitar and keyboard passages which often ride a shifting and complex rhythm section.
"While not lacking for things to say musically, this time around the band focused more on Jack Wright's prolific writing and playing styles to shape the basic direction for Fantastic Dreamer," says TCP's Blake Tobias. "Jack has a unique method of expressing his angular guitar. It tends to infuse our sound with an addictive progressive math rock type of foundation. In addition, I believe Fantastic Dreamer benefits from the extra scrutiny as a result of a truly band effort in production decisions. As for this new release, we remain very pleased to have our continued association with 10T Records, where we feel the label management support, artist quality and market visibility are paramount."
"We couldn't be happier about bringing TCP's newest release to the public," says 10T Records president Steve Carroll. "When I first heard the advance demos I was excited about how the band had evolved and deepened their sound. I think fans of the debut CD will be ecstatic and new listeners will become converts."

YOKE SHIRE "AWAKENING CELTIC SPIRITS" - BRAND NEW ALBUM AVAILABLE NOW!
ProgPower Europe 30th September, 1st and 2nd October 2011
The band will be in the middle of a European tour and coming in from a show in London the day before. Their support for the tour, Italy's KINGCROW, have also just been announced on the same bill.
REDEMPTION have been one of the bands fans have been asking for since the 2010 festival finished and many will be pleased to see them hit the stage at Baarlo for the 13th edition of Europe's leading festival for progressive and power metal.
After 12 superb years there is no doubt fans can expect more quality performances from a range of bands. With the first eight acts booked there's already a real mix with some established acts, some bands doing the festival circuit and one fairly unknown. Expect more variety as the rest of the 15 acts are announced.
ProgPower Europe is the "go to" festival for fans of real music. But rather than the impersonal muddy fields that we've had to put up with, fans will enjoy an indoor venue with great sound and situated in the very pleasant town of Baarlo in the eastern Netherlands.
No doubt because of the laid back attitude of the hosts, this is probably one of Europe's friendliest festivals in any genre - for rock and metal it can't be beaten.
So if you want a real mix of bands which will include big names and unknowns, and something in between, in a quality venue in a great town, ProgPower Europe is the answer. 2010 included 15 bands from 12 countries as diverse as Tunisia and Argentina, and saw the first ever live show (a rehearsal gig aside) from Shadow Gallery. 2011 will bring more surprises…
A check of the new website http://progpower.eu/ will show you links to loads of accommodation as well as a guide to travelling to Baarlo. It's really easy and today nowhere is really that far. The music speaks for itself.
Booked so far - Barstool Philosophers, Schizoid Lloyd, Kingcrow, Redemption, Seventh Wonder, In Mourning, Sole Remedy, Sky Architect - seven more to be named.

NEARfestNews Britain throws a curve; Supersister forced to back out, Curved Air steps in.
NEARfest is honored to present the iconic British band, Curved Air to the Zoellner stage. The band's history dates to back to early 1968, when drummer Florian Pilkington-Miksa and bassist friend Rob Martin were introduced to guitarist and keyboard virtuoso Francis Monkman. The trio jammed together and played cover tunes at local parties when Francis met Darryl Way. Darryl introduced Francis to a pianist friend named Nick Simon, and along with Florian and Rob, the band Sisyphus was formed. Shortly thereafter Simon left, and Francis began doubling on keyboards and guitar and the group decided a new name was in order and Francis suggested using a shortened version of Terry Riley's composition "A Rainbow in Curved Air." That same year, folk singer Sonja Kristina was performing in the London production of "Hair." The producer, Galt McDermott, had a second play, "Who the Murderer Was," running concurrently in Notting Hill Gate. The pit band for "Murderer..." was Curved Air. It was suggested that Sonja audition as the new singer for the band. The sound came together quickly, and the new group soon became the first British band signed by Warner Brothers.
Their inaugural album, "Air Conditioning," was the first rock picture disc, and included the single "It Happened Today," and the live favorite "Vivaldi." An intriguing blend of electronics, progressive rock, acoustic folk, classical flourishes, and a bit of jazz fusion, the album reached number 8 in the British charts. Curved Air were a truly unique band which synthesized an eclectic blend of musical styles into an instantly identifiable sound. With a storied history and a plethora of esteemed alumni (Eddie Jobson and Stewart Copeland for starters), the band have put their own unique stamp on the progressive world. Curved Air founding members Sonja Kristina and drummer Florian Pilkington-Miksa reformed Curved Air in 2008/09 and have toured internationally, revitalizing the Curved Air legacy with ace guitarist Kit Morgan and bassist Chris Harris, Paul Sax on electric violin and Robert Norton on keyboards. Robert Norton is an exceptional keyboard player, drawing on the original sonic spectrum associated with Curved Air. Paul Sax, master violinist, is a passionate and brave performer very well qualified to step into Darryl's light. He has performed with many bands and is a long-term member of the highly successful alternative street band, The Huckleberries. Guitarist Kit Morgan is a mesmeric and fiery player and bassist Chris Harris is solid with Florian's intricate drums driving the band. Both Paul and Robert toured extensively with Sonja in the '90s with her solo projects Acid Folk and Cloud Ten. The band's hits "Backstreet Luv" and "It Happened Today" are still radio favorites as the band tours around the world, performing their unique style of music to enthusiastic audiences.
