ProgPower Europe 30th September, 1st and 2nd October 2011

ProgPower Europe have announced the Sunday night headliner - progressive metallers REDEMPTION from the USA.

The band will be in the middle of a European tour and coming in from a show in London the day before. Their support for the tour, Italy's KINGCROW, have also just been announced on the same bill.

REDEMPTION have been one of the bands fans have been asking for since the 2010 festival finished and many will be pleased to see them hit the stage at Baarlo for the 13th edition of Europe's leading festival for progressive and power metal.

After 12 superb years there is no doubt fans can expect more quality performances from a range of bands. With the first eight acts booked there's already a real mix with some established acts, some bands doing the festival circuit and one fairly unknown. Expect more variety as the rest of the 15 acts are announced.

ProgPower Europe is the "go to" festival for fans of real music. But rather than the impersonal muddy fields that we've had to put up with, fans will enjoy an indoor venue with great sound and situated in the very pleasant town of Baarlo in the eastern Netherlands.

No doubt because of the laid back attitude of the hosts, this is probably one of Europe's friendliest festivals in any genre - for rock and metal it can't be beaten.

So if you want a real mix of bands which will include big names and unknowns, and something in between, in a quality venue in a great town, ProgPower Europe is the answer. 2010 included 15 bands from 12 countries as diverse as Tunisia and Argentina, and saw the first ever live show (a rehearsal gig aside) from Shadow Gallery. 2011 will bring more surprises…

A check of the new website http://progpower.eu/ will show you links to loads of accommodation as well as a guide to travelling to Baarlo. It's really easy and today nowhere is really that far. The music speaks for itself.

Booked so far - Barstool Philosophers, Schizoid Lloyd, Kingcrow, Redemption, Seventh Wonder, In Mourning, Sole Remedy, Sky Architect - seven more to be named.
