Seattle rockers GIRL ON FIRE are returning to the road, joining 10 YEARS for a week of late October dates before sharing a November run with Century Media Records labelmates KILL DEVIL HILL and EYES SET TO KILL. Also providing support on the KILL DEVIL HILL headlining tour will be BLACK WATER RISING (see dates below).

The upcoming tours are the latest chapter in the GIRL ON FIRE story, which is developing at radio with "The Takedown" and blossoming with ever-growing fan and media support nationwide. Leash Eye - new album out now in Europe! Listen to the second single! / download link / interview offer

"Hard Truckin' Rock", the new studio album by the Metal/Southern Rock band Leash Eye, has been now officially released in Europe (on November, 5th in USA). Today, you can listen to the second single taken from the album. "Fight The Monster" is available on Metal Mind Productions' official channel on YouTube in THIS location.
 
Leash Eye call its own music as Hard Truckin' Rock. Technically speaking, it's a mixture of good old hard rock sound dating back to the 70's with scents of stoner metal and southern rock tradition. The core of the band's sound comprises of well embedded rhythm section, mighty sound of guitars and distorted Hammond organs. The classical hard rocking vocal gives a nice finish to it all. This blend is bottled into one band playing 21st century style hard rock!

The band was founded by three friends, playing for their own enjoyment. As their musical goal, the band decided to follow the same road as the one chosen by Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Kyuss, Tool, Illusion, and Spiritual Beggars. In March 1999, the band recorded 5 songs, which were featured on their promo CD. The change of the lead singer in 2003 triggered also a change of their style - these days Leash Eye stands for melodious hard rock of the 70's, accompanied by heavy, modern sounds and classic vocals. In Autumn 2009, Leash Eye's debut album "V.E.N.I", featuring guest appearance of Riverside's Michał Łapaja on the Hammond organ, sees the light of day. The album met with the acclaim of both critics and listeners. The year 2010 is marked by intense work on new songs, which are to be included on the band's new full-length album. Ultimately, 10 out of 13 compositions are chosen and, in the beginning of 2011, the band enter Sound Division Studio in Warsaw to record their 2nd album "V.I.D.I.", with Behemoth's Orion as the producer and Vesania's Heinrich as sound engineer. Until now, the year 2011 was definitely the most successful year in Leash Eye's career. They won Antyradio's competition and, as a result, their right to perform at Sonisphere Festival next to Motorhead and Iron Maiden. Also, they represented Poland at Wacken Open Air festival, where they performed as the winners of Polish edition of Wacken Metal Battle. Also in 2011, they released their second full-length studio album "V.I.D.I.".
And still the best is yet to come. Their third studio album „Hard Truckin' Rock" has been released in Europe on October, 14th in Europe (November, 5th in USA).

THE DIVINOS “The Divino Code” CD Release

The Divinos are not a traditional band, they are a new way of musical entertainment. The band's sound, characterized by the use of electronic groove, southern rock guitars and acoustic piano, unites various influences and musical styles such as cinema and musicals, opera and rock. A truly innovative work that evokes the cinematic style of the gangsters movies and pulp, until the spaghetti westerns as in the movies of Tarantino, Rodriguez and Leone. The voice of Max Russo, founder and frontman of The Divinos, accompanied by Tristi aka Chiazzetta, freestyle & priestrapper performer, tells the odyssey of the Divino family through a journey very noir steeped in irony and drama, which are bared the weaknesses and temptations of the human in appearance from the hidden look "pinstripe" and the thirst for power.

In addition to the fusion of the Italian melodies, musical, classic rock and rap, The Divino Code, is made unique, by the particular language Italo-American used in the texts, and contains an interesting cover version of "Vieni via con me" by Paolo Conte. Swedish progressive-rock royalty THE FLOWER KINGS are back with their new album "Desolation Rose"


Swedish progressive-rock royalty The Flower Kings have had a busy year since regrouping in 2012 for the 'Banks Of Eden' album, and with a new creative vigour the band are following that with the fantastic new album 'Desolation Rose' due out on October 28th in Europe and October 29th in North America. 

The artwork, once again created by Silas Toball, can be viewed above and the band had this to say about the forthcoming release:

Legendary Singer/Songwriter Jon Anderson To Play Florida, Iceland and Progressive Nation At Sea - New Reissues Forthcoming!


Legendary vocalist Jon Anderson, YES's singer/songwriter for 35 years along with his successful work with Vangelis, Kitaro, and Milton Nascimento, will be performing shows in Miami Beach and Clearwater, Florida, as well as Iceland and the Progressive Nation At Sea 2014 cruise. The shows promise to deliver an exciting mixture of material from Jon Anderson's prolific solo career, collaborations with Vangelis and classic YES songs, along with new compositions, highlighted by humorous and enlightening stories told by Jon.

PROPHEXY - "Improvviso"
The band breaks the progressive rock scenes, both Italian and European, taking part in the offical King Crimson tribute album 'The letters: an Italian unconventional guide to King Crimson', produced in 2005 by Mellow Records and along with artists like the virtuoso piano-player Stefano Bollani. Their version of 'The great deceiver' turns out to be greatly appreciated by the audience and the press. 'Scartomanzia', a five songs EP, is recorded in the band's own studio in 2006. Thanks to this release, PropheXy places first in a contest promoted by the 'Acid Jazz' magazine. As a part of the prize, the song 'Plasticosmic' is then included in the August issue. New and important opportunities follow, like concerts with Anekdoten, Le Orme, Sleepy Time Gorilla Museum, Deus Ex Machina, Maschera di Cera, among the others. After a lot of electric and some acoustic gigs, PropheXy enters again the studio to produce the new full-length album "Alconauta", a mix of crazy textures and mad rhythms, highly melodic and psychedelic openings lead to a new breed of Pro-Aggressive Rock. In the summer of 2013 the band presents "Improvviso", a live album recorded at San Sebastiano theater in Valli del Pasubio (VI), which sees the partecipation also of Richard Sinclair in two bonus tracks. PropheXy is currently promoting this latest work in tour around Italy.

London's Champions of Maximalist Avant-Bang Music Hot Head Show To Release Second Album 'Perfect' - October 14, 2013

London, UK - Hot Head Show have turned a lot of heads since their debut 'The Lemon LP' reached the ears of American bass legend Les Claypool, at whose request they spent much of 2011 touring Europe and the USA with cult superstars Primus. The international fanbase they achieved that year demanded that they return to Europe for two startlingly successful tours as headliners in 2012, leading to their signing with RBL Records in Italy and Noisolution in Germany, in addition to their longstanding relationship with Tentacle Entertainments in the UK and North America.

Since then, they've sold out both rock clubs and jazz clubs, having been variously labeled "mind-bending art-pop/avant-jazz/flamenco-punks" (Artrocker), "ironic, surreal alt-folky avant-ska" (Rumore, IT), "A whiplash of melodically tense, undulating avant-funk-rock-blues" (The Rumpus, USA), "Maddening" (Kerrang), "Inherently Sexy" (Notion) and worse. For the band themselves, the genre classification of their sophomore album Perfect is simple - it's Maximalist Avant-Bang.

Perhaps this is what you'd expect from a band whose singer/guitarist is a former film-editor whose parents are Sonja Kristina of Curved Air and Stewart Copeland of The Police. A band whose drummer held a residency as a composer at the Royal Festival Hall when he was 22, and whose "lead bassist" is the oft-naked, messianic frontman of fellow Tentacle signing Super Best Friends Club.

Recorded in London and New York in sporadic bursts in the midst of 2012's vigorous touring schedule, 'Perfect' captures an important band at the top of its game. Between the poppy purr of tracks like "Bethany", "Little Kitty" and "Bodie Doesn't Take It Sitting Down", the frantic balls-out adventurism of "Bang Now" and "Some Money", the frankly terrifying "Kansas", "Bangfish" and "Fingers", and the psychedelically epic "Hello Doctor" and "Unbearable Lightness of Bang", 'Perfect' somehow manages to feel vividly cohesive despite its atmospheric gymnastics. Joyful and dark, playful and profound but always strikingly melodic, the record touches on elements of Talking Heads, The Birthday Party, Frank Zappa, Deerhoof, Micachu, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, and every artist who's tried to totally redefine their medium.

The Storm Chronicles are a modern, adult album alternative rock music project with progressive rock influences based in the U.S. Pacific Northwest. The Storm Chronicles have accumulated a rather large backlog of songs and instrumental pieces that will eventually see the light of day on future albums and EP releases. In 2011, the key challenge was to decide which of these songs would best represent the body of work as a whole, to date, for the first release. Once chosen, most of the final songs would take another 2 years to record and produce (with the exception of "Run", which Burr had started recording in 2010 while still searching for a vocalist). The end result was Looking Backward.

Genesis Tribute Vocalist And Star Trek Convention Founder Unite For New Prog Rock Project XNA Produced By Billy Sherwood


Los Angeles, CA - Following in the musical footsteps of progressive giants such as Yes and Genesis, L.A.-based collective XNA launches their debut recording, the riveting and ambitious concept album When We Changed You, available October 22. Founded by vocalist David Hussey of Genesis tribute band Gabble Ratchet and keyboardist Adam Malin, composer/author of several solo sci-fi rock operas including "Singularity" and co-founder of Creation Entertainment, the company responsible for the original Star Trek Convention, XNA effortlessly traffics in classic prog rock but with a unique, multi-layered, symphonic sound. The evocative lyrics relay strange cinematic stories steeped in history, science fiction, and the macabre. Rounding out the band are drummer Scott Connor of CIRCA: and the Bobby Kimball-fronted Yoso, who provides the rhythmic backbone for the album, and guitarist Danny Bryle of Psychle and Low Media High, who furnishes intricate melodies throughout.

To help bring this epic project to life, the band enlisted a true prog rock mainstay, producer and multi-instrumentalist Billy Sherwood, who also contributes his incredible bass and guitar playing to the recording. Known worldwide for his work with the prog rock institution Yes, and famous for creating lush soundscapes with astounding depth and complexity, Mr. Sherwood possesses production talents that seemed a custom fit for XNA's sound. Enthuses Sherwood, "The XNA project is amazing in both concept and performance. Each member of the band brings a level of virtuosity that when they join forces it becomes an incredibly dynamic and musically expressive production: orchestral music with power and punch, vocal depth, rock 'n' roll guitars and everything else it takes to make the perfect magical mixture. They asked me on board to produce/mix and it was an instant 'yes'."

Earlier this month, Sherwood found himself thrust into an even brighter spotlight thanks to a high-profile, headline-grabbing collaboration with Captain James T. Kirk himself, William Shatner. Shatner also received an early copy of the XNA album When We Changed You and declared it "masterful and wonderful," exhorting the band to "share it with the world." Leonard Nimoy a/k/a Spock likewise offered early praise for the group, "Marvelous -You rock the world!"

Befitting XNA's commitment to recapturing a more artistic era of music, the album is being released in a sumptuous hardcover digipak and lavish, full color 24-page booklet of lyrics, original paintings and conceptual art.

Alcatrazz's albums to be re-released in November (Europe ex. UK ONLY)

Metal Mind Productions is proud to present the exclusive re-issue of four albums by the American heavy metal band Alcatrazz - "No Parole From Rock'n Roll" (1983), "Live Sentence – No Parole From Rock'N'Roll" (1984), "Disturbing The Peace" (1985) and "Dangerous Games" (1986).
 
Alcatrazz was formed in 1983 in Los Angeles, California by the legendary rock vocalist Graham Bonnet. He was a veteran of both Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow and Michael Schenker Group. Using Rainbow and MSG as templates, Bonnet enlisted Swedish guitar sensation Yngwie Malmsteen. The remaining band members were ex-Alice Cooper drummer Jan Uvena, keyboardist Jimmy Waldo and bassist Gary Shea - both of 70's AOR underdog New England. The group's debut album 'No Parole From Rock'N'Roll', included a hit single "Island in the Sun" often played by MTV. Alcatrazz then released "Live Sentence - No Parole From Rock'N'Roll", live alum recorded during the band's tour in Japan. By the time Alcatrazz returned to the studio for its sophomore album, guitarist Malmsteen felt he had outgrown the group. He was let go to embark on a solo career, and the band hired ex-Frank Zappa guitarist - Steve Vai. Second studio album "Disturbing the Peace" redefined the band's vision. Lead single "God Blessed Video" was fresh, innovative and featured in high rotation on both MTV and USA's Night Flight. However, soon after release Steve Vai left in order to join David Lee Roth's solo band. He was replaced by guitarist Danny Johnson (ex-Axis and Rod Stewart), who recorded what would become Alcatrazz's final studio album.  They released "Dangerous Games" in 1986 but after a short tour, Alcatrazz called it a day, and its members went on to other projects. Bonnet went on to record with guitarist Chris Impellitteri, before resuming his solo career. 1998 saw the release of "The Best of Alcatrazz", which compiled tracks from all eras of the band, and was intended to be the final word.   In 2003, bassist Tim Luce introduced Graham Bonnet to guitarist Howie Simon. At the time, Simon was working with vocalist Jeff Scott Soto (ex-Yngwie Malmsteen, Journey, Talisman). Bonnet, Simon and Luce invited drummer Glen Sobel to sit in with them at a few low-key LA concerts. The group discovered they had a unique and exciting chemistry, and in 2007 the band was invited to co-headline a sold-out Japanese tour with Joe Lynn Turner. The band rang in the 2008 New Year with Bay Area legends Y&T, and in January of 2008 Alcatrazz was a featured performer at the Fender Guitars Custom Shop's annual 'Fret Fest' at NAMM. In July the band headlined the 2008 BerkRock Festival in Berkovitsa, Bulgaria. 2009 saw the band hit Mexico for the first time ever.  This was followed by a successful winter tour of Europe.  In 2010, Alcatrazz finally conquered Russia with a series of shows. In October of 2010, Alcatrazz headlined the "Voices Of Rainbow" tour, which covered various cities in Japan.  This tour also featured ex-Rainbow vocalists Joe Lynn Turner and Doogie White (ex-Rainbow, Cornerstone, Tank).  The highlight of the tour was all three vocalists sharing the stage together for the first time ever on Rainbow classics. Currently, the band is writing material for a new album…
 
Today, Alcatrazz albums - "No Parole From Rock'n Roll", "Live Sentence – No Parole From Rock'N'Roll", "Disturbing The Peace" and "Dangerous Games", will be re-released in a new digipak edition, each one enriched with bonus tracks. As previously announced Metal Mind Productions will release a brand new studio album by one of the most interesting rock bands from Poland – Chemia. Chemia - they are the Polish band that stole the heart of Ralph James, one of the bosses of The Agency Group, the biggest concert agency in the world. They are the band best known to the German fans of the football club Borussia Dortmund. They are the favorite band of the very popular Canadian side-man, Marc LaFrance (Alice Cooper, The Cult, David Lee Roth and many others). And finally, they are the band that was invited twice to the famous Warehouse Studio where such bands as Metallica, Nirvana, AC/DC, R.E.M and Biffy Clyro recorded their albums. The band was formed by the guitarist Wojtek Balczun in 2010 in Warsaw and their current line-up also includes: Maciej Mąka (guitar), Krzysztof Jaworski (bass guitar), Adam Kram (drums), Rafał Stępień (keyboards) and Łukasz Drapała (vocals). The band performed together with such big artists as Red Hot Chili Peppers and Guns N' Roses! In Autumn 2012, Chemia left for the Canadian Warehouse Studio to record their third studio album "The One Inside". During the whole recording process they were supported by Marc LaFrance and the album was mixed by Eric Mosher (Chickenfoot, Joe Satriani).
"The One Inside" features 13 rock tracks inspired by classic rock ranging from the Beatles to Led Zeppelin and by the best post grunge tunes!
 
The album entitled "The One Inside" is scheduled for release on November, 4th (world ex. North America)! On September, 17th the album was released in Canada.

Michael Lee Firkins returns with his new roots-fusion effort, "Yep", a tough-as-nails affirmation, declaration and confirmation of the guitar hero’s wide-ranging artistic vision and technical prowess.

When guitarist/vocalist Michael Lee Firkins first appeared on the national scene he was heralded as instrumental rock's new Guitar God and immediately labeled the "next big thing." Music industry vets extolled the virtues of Firkins' high-octane pick-less prowess, roots music sensibility, and Jeff Beck-inspired whammy bar-driven slide-guitar voicings.

After five long years, the guitar hero returns with a new album, new attitude and fresh musical perspective. 
"In that time I found out what I was capable of as a musician," says Firkins.

Firkins' new record, "Yep", is an authentic mixture mixture of ballsy blues, sh*#-kickin' rock, Cajun boogie, and country twang, featuring Gov't Mule drummer Matt Abts, bassist Andy Hess (Steve Kimock, Gov't Mule, The Black Crowes), and blues-rock piano and organ man extraordinaire Chuck Leavell (The Allman Brothers Band, Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton).

"Chuck was very instrumental in directing everything to make sure it went down right away," says Firkins. "And, of course, he's an incredible musician. Chuck could place his hands anywhere on the piano and it would always sound in time."

The guitar hero's musical evolution is evident on tracks such as "Back to Where It All Began", "Long Day", "Standing Ovation" and the two-part "No More Angry Man." The title, itself, is a kind of ode to Firkins' newfound no-nonsense attitude and ability to get on with things.

"I wasn't looking to make any grand statement with the title of the album or the cover," says Firkins. "There is a country twang on the record and I wanted people to know that this is it. What you see is what you get."

Multi-flavored tracks, such as "Long Day", "Out of Season", "Cajun Boogie" and "Take Me Back" were all recorded live, showcasing the musical interplay between Firkins, Leavell, Abts and Hess.

"What you hear is exactly how they played it," says Firkins. "They didn't punch in and do weird overdubs. It's just those three guys playing together from beginning to end, together live."

No BS. "Yep" is just straight up roots fusion served by an undisputed maestro of musical ceremonies, who sacrificed aspects of himself to deliver a hard-won message. It's that simple, that gut wrenching, that deep. And, yep, the album is that damn good.

Will Wallner resigns from White Wizzard Guitar Duties

Guitarist Will Wallner has released the following statement:
I am sad to announce I am no longer a member of White Wizzard. I will not get into the petty argument between Jon Leon and Joseph Micheal, I will only comment on what matters; the music. I am proud of the album Joseph Micheal, Will Wallner, Jake Dreyer, Jon Leon and Giovanni Durst created this year. We all brought our own influences and individual styles to make a great metal album. That is what I want to remember from my time in White Wizzard. We had a great live chemistry and for a brief moment I believed the band could have done something.


As proud as I am of the music we created I am equally pissed at how the tour and band ended. I am even more pissed for support band Monument who got screwed out of a tour because of our unprofessional attitude. I am pissed for the people who donated to the bands indiegogo campaign. The money was meant to help the band tour and now that band does not exist. I knew it was a bad idea and the video was humiliating and insulting. I hope each of you at least get what you paid for...

I may give an in depth statement explaining exactly what happened but for now this is all I want to say. I will be focusing on my solo project "Will Wallner & Vivien Vain". We have started working on a new album and am very inspired to get back to making real music. Finally I would like to thank all the fans who supported the band and all the friends I made while I was in the band. I would like thank Earache Records and Century Media for the work they did while I was in the band. Cheers!

Michael Schenker announces new album "Bridge The Gap"

Award-winning, legendary guitarist Michael Schenker will release a brand new studio album entitled "Bridge The Gap" in the UK on Monday December 2nd.  Released by in-akustik, the album features Schenker's band Temple of Rock which consists of ex-Scorpions Herman Rarebell (drums) and Francis Buchholz (bass), plus ex-Rainbow's Doogie White (vocals) andWayne Findlay (guitar, keyboards).

THE MAKING OF THE NEW ALBUM


Michael Schenker and Herman Rarebell met on and off over the years and eventually decided to do something together.  Schenker hadn't performed UFO material for a while, and decided to put a touring project together with Best of Michael Schenker material.  Pete Way showed up at one of Schenker's MSG Shows and appeared to be in good spirit, and was invited to Brighton to jam together. At the same time, Schenker was about ready to start working on a new album. He went to a studio in Muenster to record a demo. Michael Voss was engineering and laid down guide vocals.

Schenker liked his voice and asked Voss if he wanted to do the singing.  When Schenker finished the demo he played it to Pete and Herman. They liked what they heard and immediately offered to become the rhythm section. The result was 2011's "Temple Of Rock" album which featured lots of great guest musicians including Star Trek's Captain Kirk (William Shatner) who recorded the spoken word intro on the album.  Schenker ended up playing on Shatner's solo album. Vocalist Doogie White also appeared on the album. Schenker wrote a song specially suited for Doogie's vocals - "Before The Devil Knows You're Dead".

The song became a favourite on the album and was A-listed on Planet Rock radio in the UK. When it was time for Schenker to go on tour, Michael Voss wasn't available, so he had to find a replacement.

Having Robin McAuley singing on one song, Schenker thought about having different line-ups between Voss, McAuley and Doogie (based on their availability). Voss toured with Schenker in Japan, McAuley toured with Schenker in the USA, and Doogie toured with Schenker in Europe.

MAGNUM - Escape From The Shadow Garden

Hugely influential British melodic hard rock group MAGNUM have
confirmed the release in 2014 of their upcoming nineteenth studio
album, 'Escape From The Shadow Garden' on Steamhammer / SPV on March
19th in Scandinavia, March 21st in Germany, March 24th in Europe and
March 25th in the US/Canada. '

'Escape From The Shadow Garden' will be available as a limited digipak
edition with bonus material, as a double coloured vinyl LP, standard
jewel case CD and download.

The cover is once again created by famous fantasy artist Rodney
Matthews (Asia, Nazareth, Eloy).

'Escape From The Shadow Garden' follows the success of 'On The 13th
Day', which charted at #28 in Germany, #36 in Sweden, #43 in the UK
national album charts, #57 in Switzerland, and at #3 in the UK rock
charts and #5 in the UK Indie Charts at the beginning of October 2012.

Six weeks after the release of 'Escape From The Shadow Garden" MAGNUM
set off on a 13 date Germany/Switzerland tour together with canadian
