Lisa LaRue Nominations, Guest Appearances and More

Nominations, Guest Appearances and More - Members of the band have been having a productive and successful year, both collaboratively, and on individual projects.
 
Guest Appearance - Lisa LaRue is the main keyboardist on melodic rock UK guitarist David Mark Pearce's debut album, Strange Ang3ls, released earlier this summer in Europe and the UK. On the track entitled "Every Time it Rains" she is joined by former Yes  keyboardist Oliver Wakeman.
Nomination
Lisa LaRue 2KX has also been nominated as "Instrumental Artist of the Year" by the 21st Annual Los Angeles Music Awards at a special program held recently at the world-famous Whisky A-Go-Go; the awards will be distributed this coming November.

New Band Member!
After contributing the critically acclaimed album, Lisa LaRue 2KX Fast and Blue, veteran  bass and Chapman electric stick player Don Schiff has become a permanent member  of the band. His latest solo project is expected to be released by Fall 2012. For over 35 years, Schiff, a much sought after collaborator , has worked with dozens of legendary performers such as Elvis Presley, Tina Turner, Pat Benatar, Nia Peeples, Sheryl Crow, Dwight Yoakam, Herbie Hancock, Al Green, and many others. He is also a member of the dynamic progressive rock band Rocket Scientists.

He has also recently completed a jazz album with his brother, veteran sax player Dave Schiff entitled The Schiff Brothers- Express, available now from Dave's website, with a CD scheduled to be released this summer. Dave Schiff, like his brother Don, has enjoyed a long and prolific career in the music business, having played with such greats as The Frank Sinatra Jr. Orchestra, Dizzy Gillespe, Aretha Franklin,Ray Charles, and erstwhile saxophone afficienado  former President Bill Clinton, among many others.
 
ARZ CD coming soon ...
Members Steve Adams and Merril Hale have been busy putting the finishing touches on their latest ARZ album, "Turn of the Tide," due out later this year.
 
Benefit EP Coming Soon!
Lisa LaRue 2KX has also recorded a special EP of three songs, entitled "Beautiful Life", whose proceeds are going to benefit a family who has always been an ardent supporter of  the band. The couple has recently been struggling with multiple life setbacks, from foreclosure and unemployment to cancer.
Joining them for this special project are Schiff's brother Dave on saxophone, and John Baker (Mars Hollow) on vocals, interpreting  lyrics penned by writer/poet Amy Vaughan Simmons  The EP will be available exclusively through Rock Tunz; release date is forthcoming.
