Wojciech Hoffmann (guitars) comments the new material: „We do not want to concentrate on novelties as we can see during our gigs that the fans expect us to play older tracks, they do not like changes. We also feel very comfortable playing the music of our youth. That’s why we plan to stick to classic heavy metal.”

Turbo - a legendary Polish heavy metal band formed in January 1980, in Poznań, by Henryk Tomczak (formerly in Stress and Heam, pioneers of Polish hard rock). It’s one of the most important bands on the Polish heavy metal scene. “Kawaleria Szatana” (Satan's Cavalry) - Turbo's most famous album - is considered a magnum opus of Polish heavy metal.  As of 2009, Turbo had sold over 5 million copies just in Poland, and additional 2 million worldwide.

More info to follow soon!

The Flaming Lips - 'Peace Sword' EP Out Now

The Flaming Lips' Peace Sword is available today digitally! The EP features five songs inspired by the upcoming film Ender's Game.

The Peace Sword will be available on CD and limited edition vinyl on November 29th.

Doogie White, Vinny Appice, Marco Mendoza, Iggy Gwadera - a brand new project out in Spring 2014!

In the early Spring of the coming year, a project that will give new meaning to hard'n'heavy music will see the light of day ! The names associated with it are true legends on the hard rock scene: on the vocals - Doogie White (Rainbow, Michael Schenker, Yngwie Malmsteen), on the drums - Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath, Heaven & Hell, DIO), on the bass - Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake), who join forces with the 15-year-old Polish guitarist Iggy Gwadera, who made his debut 2 years ago as the guitarist of Anti Tank Nun.

The idea to record an album together was born after Thin Lizzy's concert in Poland. The bassist Marco Mendoza, delighted with the young guitarist Iggy, who supported Thin Lizzy with his band Anti Tank Nun, suggested that they record some music together. This first idea, which was maturing for the next dozen-odd months, eventually evolved into the project involving legendary musicians, who are currently recording a brand new album together with Iggy. The drummer Vinny Appice, renowned for playing in some of the best heavy metal bands of worldwide fame, as also the bassist Marco Mendoza have already finished recording bass and drum tracks in Los Angeles. Near the end of November, Doogie White will confront his vocal talent with Iggy's guitar technique during their recording sessions. Hard rock fans can well expect the results of these sessions to be truly outstanding! The album is to be mixed by the end of the year and will be released already in the early Spring!

Full details to be announced soon!

OPETH - New Interview With Mikael Åkerfeldt!

New Slaves To Fashion song with new lead singer

Norwegian band SLAVES TO FASHION has just published a brand new song called "Breath Play" on YouTube. The song is showcasing new lead singer THOR ANDREAS SJØEN's diversity as a metal singer and is written by guitarist Torfinn Sirnes, Sjøen and Geir Egil Thorstensen (Spirits of the Dead).
Slaves To Fashion recently did the first live shows with Sjøen and the band is currently writing and recording another full-length album.

Uganga reveals tracklist of new studio album

Opressor will be the title of the band's fifth album, sucessor of the newly released Eurocaos Ao Vivo

Manu "Joker" (vocal), Christian Franco (guitar), Thiago Soraggi (guitar), Raphael "Ras" Franco (bass) and Marco Henriques (drums). Collectively they are known as UGANGA. In Brazil, everybody who is really into metal and hardcore knows them, and if you are in Europe you also have a chance to have heard about the band. After all, these five brazilian musicians are for 20 years on the road, have released four albuns and completed two tours in Europe, besides countless shows in Brazil.

And they really aren't into this to joke! The band just arrived from its second european tour that added 10 shows in eight countries - Hungary, Austria, France, Italy, Slovenia, Slovakia, Poland and Switzerland - and released its first live album, Eurocaos Ao Vivo, that brought the registration of the band's first tour in Europe in 2010, with shows recorded in Germany and Portugal, besides several bonus tracks and other features.

When it was thought that the band would slow down, behold they do announce the new studio album!

Titled Opressor, the album was produced by the experienced Gustavo Vazquez (Black Drawning Chalks, Macaco Bong, Krow, Hellbenders) and will bring the following tracks "Guerra", "O Campo", "Veredas", "Opressor", "Moleque de Pedra", "Casa", "L.F.T.", "Modus Vivendi", "Nas Entranhas do Sol", "Aos Pés da Grande Árvore", "Noite", "Who Are The True" (Vulcano cover) and "Guerreiro".

According to Manu "Joker", the band was working on the Opressor songs since 2011, but other projects eventually required priority at the time.
"In the meanwhile we had the chance to release Eurocaos Ao Vivo and to make our second european tour, and we didn't want to compromise the quality of these works doing everything at the same time", explains the frontman. "For some time we decided to produce our records counting with somebody from outside with enough technical experience to take care of the entire part of audio engineering. For Opressor we choose our friend Gustavo Vasquez from Rocklab Studios (Goiania - Brazil), that besides knowing everything in terms of timbres, recording and mixing, gave us many arrangments ideas. We were able to record the band's sound live without all these digital tools and studio makeup that we can listen on current productions. Nothing against who decides for these kind of work, but we searched for something more analog and raw. It was two years of extreme dedication for the writting process of these tracks, both indidivual and collective. A heavy work, but pleasurable. I think that both musically and lyrically, the band moved foward. We are really excited with this material!"

UGANGA has recently launched two videos for the new songs "Moleque de Pedra" and "Aos Pés da Grande Árvore" recorded live during the most recent european tour.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgadXUiBMU4 - "Moleque de Pedra" (live in Ozimek, Poland)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRFh7vddL5g - "Aos Pés da Grande Árvore" (live in Viena, Austria)

At the time UGANGA is negotiating a deal with a Brazilian record label and soon the release date of Opressor will be announced.

Killers' remasters out next week, new studio album planned for 2014!

Metal Mind Productions is proud to present exclusive re-releases of three albums by the heavy metal band Killers, led by Iron Maiden's ex-vocalist – Paul Di'Anno. Coming together in 1991, Killers was one of the first metal super groups to exist. Featuring members of Iron Maiden, Tank, Raven, and Battlezone, they were hailed by the press as the "Natural successor to Judas Priest".

"South American Assault", "Murder One" and "Menace To Society" will be available in new digipak remastered editions with bonus tracks! The release date is set to November, 11th in Europe and December, 3rd in USA!

The re-release of Killer's back-catalogue has encouraged musicians to start working on a new studio album. Paul Di'Anno comments: "I'm very excited about the Killers reissues and can't wait to get started on new material for the next studio album. It's great to be working under the Killers name again. Real British heavy fucking metal. The Beast is back to get ya! Killers have risen from the dead. New life, New line up, New album - "The Lazarus Syndrome" – 2014.Working with Metal Mind has given us the freedom to continue to make the music we believe in and we look forward to a long working relationship with one of the best rock labels in the world." Cliff Evans adds: "We've been searching for the right label to release the Killers back catalogue for some time. Metal Mind is one of the best metal labels in the world and we know they're going to do a great job to help re-establish Killers as one of Britain's finest metal bands".

You can now see a short clip promoting the re-issues. It's available on the official Metal Mind Productions' channel on YouTube in THIS location.

Killers AD 1992

In the summer of 1991 Paul Di'Anno, Cliff Evans and Steve Hopgood were talking about forming a new metal super group that would bring back the classic style of British metal that seemed to be disappearing from the music scene. Being former members of such metal legends as Iron Maiden, Tank and Battlezone, the guys knew they had the credentials to put together a great band that could do justice to the music they worshipped. To complete the line-up, John Gallagher of Raven was brought in to supply the bass and the only American member Ray Detone, formerly of successful AOR band Drive She Said, was introduced to the line-up on second guitar. With a wealth of experience between them the band quickly gelled together on stage and injected new life into classic Iron Maiden anthems and a selection of other metal favourites. The final result was released on a live album "South American Accault". Di'Anno delivers here a spine chilling performance which makes this live album an essential listening for any rock fan. Originally released in 1994, until now this album has been difficult for metal fans to find! Soon after the release of the live album, Gallagher returned to front his own band Raven and Detone decided to move on. Killers replaced them with Gavin Cooper (bass) and Nick Burr (guitar). Arne Goodman, their US' manager, arranged showcases for all the major record labels and after a bidding war Killers signed a $250,000 deal with BMG. Producer Rob Fraboni was brought in to help make their debut studio album and the band moved into The Powerstation Studios in New York to start recording. The result was "Murder One". Acclaimed by the press worldwide, the album became a classic for lovers of British metal. For the following 18 months Killers toured extensively taking in Japan, Europe and coast to coast across the U.S.A. After the great response to the album and constant touring, the band returned to the UK to start working on the follow up studio album. Unfortunately, Di'Anno had decided to stay in Los Angeles for a short break. While there, he managed to get himself arrested for drugs and firearms offense and was sentenced to 3 months in Los Angeles county jail. Not to be deterred by this, the band continued to write new material and sent cassette tapes to jail so Paul could work on lyrics. When released from prison, he was deported back to the UK and the band entered the studio to record the sophomore studio album "Menace to Society". The songs were much more aggressive than before and were clearly influenced by his time behind bars. The album was awarded 'Best New Album' in German Metal Hammer magazine.

These 3 re-releases contain some of the finest British metal with spine chilling vocal performances by a true legend who still commands great respect from metal fans, young and old, around the world.

Christian Giardino new Eldorado drummer - New music video "Mr Saturn"

Christian Giardino new Eldorado drummer
After going over Spain and several years in Argentina working as a session player in different bands, Christian decided to come back to Spain with the clear idea of being a part of a rock band. In this search, his path cross with Eldorado.
From the first moment he was the perfect fit for the band. We share a lot of influences, he is an organic drummer and he feels the music as we do. We are very proud to introduce Christian Giardino as Eldorado drummer and we are sure he will blow your head as he did with us.

New Studio Album from Caravan titled as "PARADISE FILTER"!

Those of you who already know Caravan will be aware how overdue a new
studio album with this current lineup is.

I have been looking for a way of doing this for some time and have
discovered a truly inspired and groundbreaking way of achieving this
without the involvement of Record companies.

Pledge Music have come up with the brilliant concept of allowing the
artist to connect directly with their fans/followers so that at long
last, we are able to connect, one to one. No more having to deal with
some snotty kid (probably still in shorts), who runs the A&R
department telling us what we should be doing!

Traditionally an Album would be a finite length of around 10 songs
with some artwork for a sleeve and a bit of blog etc. etc. None of
this need apply any more !

Pledge Music have created a platform where you can do virtually what
ever you like, so we can start with at least 10 new songs but
depending upon what you, the "pledgers" want, this can be extended to
include extra tracks , different mixes, live studio recordings of back
catalogue tracks, daily short clips from the studio as we record and
much more. The fun and trauma of recording has never truly been
captured and passed on to the fans. You've only ever got the finished
product. Well now you can be a part of the whole process by pledging
to support this project.

Check out the list of exclusives on the right of this page and see
what takes your fancy, we feel that we have created some special items
and experiences for you. Everyone who pledges will receive a download
of the album and you can't say fairer than that!

Music is important to us all not least because it helps to bring back
memories. Well now is your chance to join us in the studio or be our
guest at gigs, and make this a truly memorable experience.

I, more than anyone, appreciate how loyal you Caravan fans have been
over the last 40 years and would like to say THANKS in advance for
your continued friendship and support.

We are up and running!!!!!

Guitarist Rich Rosenthal Celebrates The Release Of His New CD "Falling Up"

Rich Rosenthal
"Falling Up"
Muse-Eek.com MSK 301)
Street Date January 7, 2014

Rich Rosenthal-Guitar, Joe Giardullo-Sop.sax,
Craig Nixon-Bass, Matt Crane Drums

Rick talks about the making of his CD, Falling Up, as well as some of his greatest influences, specifically trumpeter Raphe Malik and tenor saxophonist Glenn Spearman.

The music you are about to hear is not Easy Listening.

But it is a reflection of a life lived uneasily; a life spent in revelation, search, struggle and finally, fulfillment.

Revelation: at the age of 13 Richard Rosenthal's guitar teacher and mentor Dave Moreno starts taking him to hear the music of Sam Rivers, Ornette Coleman, Cecil Taylor, Bill Dixon, Sun Ra, the Art Ensemble of Chicago, Steve Lacy, Jimmy Lyons and Frank Wright.  Rosenthal reacts: "mind blowing…deeply spiritual…these players were playing with a life and death sense of urgency.  Most of the musicians I met seemed to be shocked that I was at their performances, and encouraged me to play and study their music."

Search:  Richard's heart's desire is to attend Music and Arts High School and then go on to the Berklee School of Music in Boston, but his blue collar parents, having grown up during the Depression era, cannot understand or support his goal of being a working career musician.  Struggle:  His parent's lack of empathy triggers drug and alcohol abuse.  When he is 17 his parents retire and move the family to rural Wappingers Falls, NY.  He is isolated, cut off from the city environment.  But he continues to play and study through a haze of addiction and severe depression.

Fulfillment:  In 1991 Rosenthal wins the battle with his demons and is finally sober.  He starts to focus on music again and graduates from The New School jazz program with a BFA in 2006.  This is accomplished while working nights repairing trains for the Metro North railroad system.  He starts playing out and composing his own music which you now hold in your hands.

It has been a tough journey.  But the elements that spoke so strongly to Rosenthal at an early age are all here, and more.  These mature pieces are a combination of written structured compositions integrated with free improv, indicating a fresh and disciplined direction for contemporary music.

At this point Richard Rosenthal has played many venues in the HV area, including the Knitting Factory, CBGB, and Roulette.  He has played and recorded with some of the top musicians in the avant garde and jazz world such as Joe McPhee, Joe Giardullo, Robert Glasper, Daniel Levin, David Arner, Dee Pop, Pauline Oliveros, Mark Dresser, Lisle Ellis, Donald Robinson, Dominic Duval, Jackson Krall, Mike Bisio an Chris Kelsey.
In addition, Rich has studied with influential teachers such as Andrew Cyrille, Reggie Workman, Rich Boukas, Kirk Nurock, Bill Kirchner, Edgar Grana, Kenny Wessel, Dave Woods, Eddie Diehl and Bruce Arnold.

Falling Up is Rich's first recording as a leader, following his critically acclaimed sideman debut on the 2005 recording "Red Morocco" by the Joe Giardullo Open Ensemble, released on RogueArt Records.

"In making this recording I would like to thank all my family friends, the musicians on the date for their great playing and, most of all, Bruce Arnold for his continued support and belief in my music." Rich Rosenthal

Final Album By UK Music Legend, Activist, Anarchist and Writer, Mick Farren Now Available!

London, UK – Much to the excitement of fans and music press around the world, the final album by UK music legend, activist, anarchist, writer and street politician, Mick Farren, has been released. Mick Farren and Andy Colquhoun 'The Woman In The Black Vinyl Dress' is now available on CD from GONZO Multimedia UK. Mick Farren was an English journalist, author and singer associated with the UK underground. Farren was best known as the singer with the proto-punk group The Deviants between 1967 and 1969. The band released three critically acclaimed albums "Ptoofff!", "Disposable" and "The Deviants 3", before Farren left for a solo career. In 1970 he released his first solo album 'Mona – The Carnivorous Circus' which featured Steve Peregrin Took, John Gustafson and Paul Buckmaster, before leaving the music business to concentrate in his writing.

During the mid-70s Mick briefly returned to music, releasing the single "Play With Fire" featuring Marky (soon-to-be Ramone) Bell, Jon Tiven and Doug Snyder. He also released the EP 'Screwed Up', the album 'Vampires Stole My Lunch Money' and the single "Broken Statue". The album featured fellow NME journalist Chrissie Hynde (The Pretenders) and Dr. Feelgood guitarist Wilko Johnson. After that, Farren did sporadic musical work, collaborating with Wayne Kramer of the MC5 on two albums ('Who Shot The Dutch' & 'Death Tongue'), Jack Lancaster of Bloodwyn Pig on an album ('The Deathray Tapes') and Andy Colquhoun on The Deviants albums 'Eating Jello With A Heated Fork' and 'Dr. Crow'. He also wrote lyrics for various musician friends over the years. He co-wrote "Lost Johnny" with Lemmy for Hawkwind, and "Keep Us On The Road" and "Damage Case" for Motorhead. He co-wrote "When's The Fun Begin?" with Larry Wallis for the Pink Fairies, along with several songs on Wallis's solo album 'Death In The Guitafternoon'. Mick also provided lyrics for the Wayne Kramer single "Get Some" in the mid-1970s and continued to collaborate with him in the 1990's.

As a writer, in the early 1970's Mick contributed to the UK Underground press. He later wrote for the mainstream publication NME. Farren also penned 23 novels, which included 11 works of non-fiction, several biographical (including 4 books on Elvis Presley), autobiographical and culture books, as well a lot of poetry. From 2003 to 2008 he was a columnist for the Los Angeles newspaper CityBeat. In 2010 Mick returned to the UK and continued to write. As a longtime asthmatic, Farren eventually developed emphysema, and against medical advice Farren continued to perform on occasion with The Deviants, (with the use of an oxygen tank between songs at times).

"I'm a lousy singer," he once told the LA Weekly, "but an excellent rock star."Mick Farren lived his music to the very end... He died at the age of 69 on July 27, 2013, after collapsing on stage while performing with the Deviants at The Borderline club in Soho. A tribute concert to Mick Farren will be held on November 14, 2013 at The Flyover in London. Says Jon Downes of The Gonzo Daily blog, "Following Mick's funeral last month, it was decided to hold a much bigger occasion where friends and colleagues could gather together, share stories, laugh and reflect on the life of a friend who left us too soon. At its heart, this event will be an opportunity to finish the set Mick and The Deviants started that fateful night at The Borderline. There will be live music from the Deviants, Slim Tim Rundall, and guests. I had great love and respect for him, and I hope in the weeks, months and years to come, as part of Gonzo Multimedia we shall help bring his invaluable work and inspirational legacy to new generations."

Mick's final album, with fellow Deviants member and musical accomplice Andy Colquhoun, 'The Woman In The Black Vinyl Dress' was recorded last year and serves as a fitting swansong for the legendary artist. Says Andy, "The initial vocal tracks were laid down by Mick in February 2012 at Brighton Electric, to click tracks at various tempos. Jaki Miles-Windmill added backing vocals, and some percussion at this session. I took the vocal tracks to my studio, Cybermusik, and overdubbed guitars, bass, drums, keyboards and more backing vocals, and also put the poetry in a song structure. The tracks 'Pick Up The Scissors' and 'Tomorrow Never Knows' had vocals recorded at Mick's flat and at Cybermusik. Jaki also added percussion and vocals at Cybermusik." Andy put the the CD together over a six month period, and mixed the album in August 2012. Andy also produced/played/composed on 'Vampires Stole My Lunch Money'. 'The Deviants Have Left The Planet', 'The Death Ray Tapes', 'Barbarian Princess' and 'Fragments Of Broken Probes'.

On a final note, Mick's very last recording was the single for Shagrat records titled "Fury Of The Mob " backed with "A Better Day Coming", which was released in July 2013.

Watch Live Concert Film, North American December dates

While currently in the studio recording their follow up to 2011's Blood Pressures, Jamie Hince and Alison Mosshart will return to the US and Canada this December for a select run of tour dates including shows supporting their friends, Queens of The Stone Age. All dates are below.

They've also recently shared a live concert film shot in Paris in 2011. Here is the story:

On November 12th 2011, The Kills played the first of two sold out shows at the prestigious L'Olympia Theatre in Paris. Three thousand tickets a night had been sold. After coming off stage at one of the wildest shows of their career, Jamie and Alison turned to each other and said – "we have to film tomorrow night's show!"

Overnight, the call was put out via Facebook, asking if anyone would come and film the second show for them. At soundcheck the next day, Sunday. November 13th 2011, a group of friends and fans assembled to capture that night's equally stunning show for posterity.

Director Anita Ribeyrol, along with editors Olivier Aslanian and Sylvain Calves then assembled the footage into the raw, sweat drenched concert movie that The Kills are proud to launch exclusively in partnership with Equipment.

Watch 'Tape Song', 'F*** The People', and view the entire concert at The Kills YouTube channel or at the Equipment Vimeo channel.

Glam Rock Icon Michael Des Barres Releases New Live Album Hot ‘n Sticky

Proof That Rock and Roll is Alive and Well

Los Angeles, CA – Riding the wave of critical acclaim from critics and peers such as Stevie Van Zandt for his album Carnaby Street, Michael Des Barres is releasing a live album recently recorded at the legendary Viper Room in Hollywood. Hot 'n Sticky is just as the title describes, delivering the songs fromCarnaby Street and other personal favorites the way this music is meant to be enjoyed. It's down-n-dirty, straight-up rock 'n roll played by a great band, and Michael Des Barres is here to bring it back with Hot 'n Sticky.

"I had no plans to record a live album that night. I record everything so I have something to dance to, but this happened to be one of those hot and sticky nights when the music plays itself, and we became like a primal, blusey, electric machine. Of course it helps that we've played every club, dive bar and juke joint that would have us. That's where rock 'n roll lives --- no video screens, no lasers, dancers or lip synching, just raw incantations from the Olympian heights of rock 'n roll heaven."
- Michael Des Barres

Hot 'n Sticky will be officially released by MDBimmedia on November 5, 2013 and will be available in both digital and physical formats via all major outlets including iTunes, Amazon, CDbaby and directly from the artist at michaeldesbarres.bandcamp.com. To preview Hot 'n Sticky in its entirety, go to https://soundcloud.com/michael-des-barres/sets/hot-n-sticky.

"Rock ain't near dead, and if you need any convincing on this point listen no further than Michael Des Barres' fiery new live set,
Hot 'n Sticky. This disc will cure what ails you with ample doses of rhythm, blues, and a pure love of rock 'n' roll. The set moves, grooves, and shakes you down with a top-flight band of LA aces and a frontman who melts all those before him.

Rock's royalty has made it through the darkness that eclipsed the breed and their art throughout the '80s and '90s. The real rockers such as Ian Hunter, Glenn Hughes, and Michael Des Barres have all saved up and not spent it all. They're alive, well and proving on a regular basis that rock may not be on the radio, but it's doing just fine as an art form." - Tony Conley, Rock Guitar Daily

Michael Des Barres has been on the rock n' roll scene for more than four decades. A European Marquis, Michael was raised in England and now lives in Los Angeles. His enduring love of Delta blues and the rock and soul of the mid-60s beat boom, carries forth from his days as the front man for such seminal 1970s bands as Silverhead and Detective, a band personally signed by Jimmy Page to Led Zeppelin's Swan Song records in 1975.

Michael Des Barres was also the touring singer for the Duran Duran spin-off group, The Power Station, performing at Live Aid with one of the most iconic live acts of the mid-1980s. From 1982 to 1984, Michael was a member of Chequered Past, which included Steve Jones from the Sex Pistols, and Clem Burke and Nigel Harrison of Blondie. In 1983, Michael penned the song "Obsession", which later became a number one hit in 27 countries for LA new wave group Animotion; the track has been featured in numerous movies throughout the years. His album Carnaby Street garnered a first-round Grammy nomination and two SiriusXM "Songs of the Week" last year.

Today, Michael Des Barres sets the bar for a new breed of healthy rock stars, pushing boundaries as multi-media force of nature. In addition to two weekly syndicated radio shows, Roots & Branches and The Michael Des Barres Show, he has appeared in feature films and countless hit television shows such as NCIS, Nip/Tuck, The Finder, and as the infamous assassin Murdoc on MacGyver. Michael has also been featured in music videos for Maroon 5 and Rihanna and co-stars with Robert Carlyle in the just-released film California Solo. Recently, Michael narrated the one-night only performance of Frank Zappa's legendary 200 Motels with the LA Philharmonic conducted by Esa Pekka Salonen… and now it's back on the road, coming to a dive bar or stadium near you!
