WAMI (White Appice Mendoza Iggy) - debut album out today, also on iTunes!

"Kill the King", the debut release by WAMI has been officially released today in Europe (tomorrow in North America). It is also available on iTunes in THIS location. The names associated with the project are true legends on the hard rock scene: on the vocals - Doogie White (Rainbow, Michael Schenker, Yngwie Malmsteen), on the drums - Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath, Heaven & Hell, DIO), on the bass - Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake), who join forces with the 16-year-old Polish guitarist Iggy Gwadera, who made his debut 2 years ago as the guitarist of Anti Tank Nun.
 
So far, the album gets great reviews such as this one from Hardrockhaven.net:
"Kill The King, above all, proves one undisputed fact – this international, intergenerational hard rock WAMI project really works. And even more, the sensational artistic collaboration between a group of talented Polish musicians and the three hard rock legends would be seriously unappreciated if referred to only as a curio in Appice's or White's vast discographies. It's so because of many reasons – not only the predictable quality of the performance by the legendary musicians of Rainbow, Dio or Whitesnake fame, but also well-crafted compositions penned by the creative duo of Cugowski brothers. The true scene stealer is, however, the guitarist Iggy Gwadera – being not even old enough to vote and still, capable of meeting such a challenge. The idea to record an album together was born after Thin Lizzy's concert in Poland. The bassist Marco Mendoza, delighted with the young guitarist Iggy, who supported Thin Lizzy with his band Anti Tank Nun, suggested that they record some music together. This first idea, which was maturing for the next dozen-odd months, eventually evolved into the project involving legendary musicians, who are currently recording a brand new album together with Iggy. The drummer Vinny Appice, renowned for playing in some of the best heavy metal bands of worldwide fame, as also the bassist Marco Mendoza have already finished recording bass and drum tracks in Los Angeles. In late November 2013, Doogie White confronted his vocal talent with Iggy's guitar technique during their recording sessions in Poland. Hard rock fans can well expect the results of these sessions to be truly outstanding!

Exlibris work on a new album!

Exlibris, one of the best heavy metal bands from Poland, is currently working on the new material for their third studio album. The band plan to enter ZED Studio in August to release the abum in late Autumn release via Metal Mind Productions.
 
Exlibris: "We are still working on some of the songs but so far it sound pretty awesome! Fans should expect a familiar emphasis on good melodies as well as some new stuff. How about that?"
 
"Humagination", is their last studio album from 2013. Combining the energy of traditional heavy metal and hard rock with melodic hooks and complex arrangements since the end of 2003, Exlibris stands for rockin' guitars, distinct rhythms, epic orchestrations and powerful lead vocals.  The band's sophomore release "Humagination" features 12 songs with fresh melodic heavy metal ideas, 3 guest appearances, stellar production, world-class vocals and catchy melodies – it's an ideal album that should appeal to fans of Dream Theater, Iron Maiden and Masterplan... The album was recorded in March 2013 and it was produced by Mariusz Konik and Robert Wawro from HZ Studio. The mix and mastering was done by Tomasz Zalewski in ZED Studio.

The band was formed in late 2003 by Daniel Lechmański and Piotr Sikora. Their first studio album "Skyward" from  2006 received quite good reviews. Over the next few years, the bands struggled with line-up changes within the rhythm section, but continued to create music and to play occasional concerts. In the meantime, Daniel Lechmański joined Chain Reaction and recorded three albums with them. Also, Piotr Sikora is a member of Leash Eye since 2009. In January 2012 the band started to record their second album - "Humagination". During the recording time, it turned out that their vocalist Marcin will not be able to complete the recordings. Krzysztof Sokołowski aka Mistress of the Night  became their new frontman. As a result, the recordings ended in early 2013. Their next yet untitled record is scheduled for release in late Autumn 2014.

Vivaldi Metal Project starts fundraising campaign

The Vivaldi Metal Project staff is glad to announce that the project is getting more huge than expected! Many famous musicians are involved in such as Mark Boals (FireWind, Yngwie Malmsteen), Mike Lepond (Symphony X), Rob Rock (Impellitteri), Chris Adler (Lamb of God), Tommy Denander (Toto, Michael Jackson, Alice Cooper), Joe Stump (Reign of Terror, Raven Lord), John Macaluso (Ark, LaBrie, Yngwie Malmsteen), Andy Midgley (Power Quest), just to name a few.
 
Recording will happen this year and the release date of the album is expected for late 2015.
 
As far as the Vivaldi Metal Project is an independent project, the  staff is looking for supporters who can help them in reaching the needed budget for production (recordings, mix, mastering, etc.) and started a fundraising campaign that will end in December 2015.
 
Part of the income will be donated to LEGA DEL FILO D'ORO
to help deaf-blind people
 

Also, the staff is proud to announce that part of the income raised with the campaign will be donated to Lega del Filo D'oro which has been helping the deaf and blind for 45 years. "The assistance, education and rehabilitation of the deafblind and multisensory impaired and their reintegration into the family and society – this has been the aim of Lega del Filo d'Oro since its foundation in 1964″

Captain Beefheart 'Harpo's Detroit Dec. 11, 1980' Rare Concert Recording To Be Released

London, UK – Much to the excitement of Captain Beefheart fans worldwide, on April 28th Gonzo Multimedia will be releasing on CD a rare live recording of the Captain in concert at Harpo's in Detroit, Michigan on Dec. 11, 1980! Don Van Vliet (born Don Glen Vliet; January 15, 1941 – December 17, 2010) was an American musician, singer-songwriter, artist and poet known by the stage name Captain Beefheart. His musical work was conducted with a rotating ensemble of musicians called the Magic Band (1965–1982), with whom he recorded 13 studio albums. Noted for his powerful singing voice with its wide range, Van Vliet also played the harmonica, saxophone and numerous other wind instruments. His music blended rock, blues and psychedelia with avant-garde and contemporary experimental composition. Beefheart was also known for exercising an almost dictatorial control over his supporting musicians, and for often constructing myths about his life.

During his teen years in Lancaster, California, Van Vliet developed an eclectic musical taste and formed friendship with Frank Zappa, with whom he sporadically collaborated. He began performing with his Captain Beefheart persona in 1964 and joined the original Magic Band line-up, initiated by Alexis Snouffer, in 1965. The group drew attention with their cover of Bo Diddley's "Diddy Wah Diddy", which became a regional hit. It was followed by their acclaimed debut album 'Safe As Milk', released in 1967 on Buddah Records. After being dropped by two consecutive record labels, they signed to Zappa's Straight Records. As producer, Zappa granted Beefheart unrestrained artistic freedom in making 1969's 'Trout Mask Replica', which ranked 58th in Rolling Stone magazine's 2003 list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. In 1974, frustrated by lack of commercial success, he released two albums of more conventional rock music that were critically panned; this move, combined with not having been paid for a European tour, and years of enduring Beefheart's strict discipline, led the entire band to quit. Beefheart eventually formed a new Magic Band with a group of younger musicians and regained contemporary approval through three final albums: 'Shiny Beast (Bat Chain Puller)' (1978), 'Doc At The Radar Station' (1980) and 'Ice Cream For Crow' (1982).

Van Vliet has been described as "...one of modern music's true innovators" with "...a singular body of work virtually unrivaled in its daring and fluid creativity." Although he achieved little commercial or mainstream critical success, he sustained a cult following as a 'highly significant' and 'incalculable' influence on an array of New Wave, punk, post-punk, experimental and alternative rock musicians. Known for his enigmatic personality and relationship with the public, Van Vliet made few public appearances after his retirement from music (and from his Beefheart persona) in 1982. He pursued a career in art, an interest that originated in his childhood talent for sculpture, and a venture that proved to be his most financially secure. His expressionist paintings and drawings command high prices, and have been exhibited in art galleries and museums across the world. Van Vliet died in 2010, having suffered from multiple sclerosis for many years.

This extraordinary new CD catches the Captain at his best; live on stage in 1980 during the tour for 'Doc At The Radar Station'.

FISH re-schedul​es 3 dates on May UK tour

FISH has been forced to re-schedule  the first three concerts on his upcoming UK tour due to the fact that his guitarist, Robert Boult , has contracted chickenpox.  The Sheffield , Liverpool and Durham dates have been re-scheduled to:

Says Fish, "Robert arrived at the studio on Monday and was obviously unwell. On Tuesday he started to come out in a serious rash which has worsened in the last days. He is still infectious but luckily all the rest of the band and crew have already had chickenpox and are relatively safe. There is however a potential risk to members of the general public who, like Robin, have not contracted the disease before and with adults the infection cannot be treated lightly.  Click here to read the official statement.

     Most known for his work in the bands Midnight Reign, White Wizzard (Lead Vocalist) and his work for Vixens Vol. 1; writing, performing, producing and providing backround vocals on the album. Also known for his notable relation to Ronnie James Dio and Agnes Moorhead (Bewitched). Joseph Michael was awarded Metal Song of the Year at the 2007 Los Angeles Music Awards for "The Hollywood Rx"

Clark Colborn Details Covering Frank Zappa

New Video Looks at Colborn's Version of Zappa Song

focuses attention on his new interpretation of Frank Zappa's "My
Guitar Wants to Kill Your Mama." The video is the final installment in
a weekly series to promote his upcoming EP. The new EP will be titled
"Frank Made Me Do It" and is a tribute to Zappa and his music. The EP
will be released on May 11th, the 21st anniversary of the release of

Clark Colborn is an American rock guitarist, composer and recording
artist. Born and raised not far from Chicago, Illinois, he has been a
performing musician most of his life. Not following the beaten path is
in his nature, and it shows in his guitar playing and his song
writing. His adventurous and innovative disposition has made it hard
to pigeon-hole his genre, yet his unique sound has garnered him fans
of every variety. Colborn spent years on the stages of roadhouses &
rock venues throughout the Midwest with bands such as Cheater,
Blackjack, and Sleight of Hand, before stepping fully into the
spotlight as a solo artist.

Over the years Colborn has gotten some great reviews. His first album
had critics saying things like "Listening to the CD takes you back to
the days when Randy Rhodes and Eddie Van Halen turned playing guitar
into an art form" (Gregory Johnson of Beetcafe.com). Michael Molenda,
Editor in Chief, Guitar Player Magazine had this to say about that
same set: "Clark Colborn's fat and massively effected tone comes on
like Godzilla, and it shifts between slinky, silky, scary, spiky, and
searing. ...his brilliantly schizoid technical/primitive approach to
the guitar is pretty exciting. In short, he rocks."

When reviewing his second album at Prognaut.com Chris Erbeck said,
"Clark's guitar prowess is evident. The man plays guitar like a
journeyman. I could hear echoes of the heavier side of 70's prog,a
thread moving throughout that makes me think of Martin Barre on "Thick
as A Brick"." At Wormwood Chronicles, Doctor Abner Mality said, "Clark
Colborn plays guitar. That simple statement sums up a lot. In fact,
Clark doesn't merely play guitar, he attacks it, he soothes it, he
coaxes all manner of sounds from it. The guy is a guitar virtuoso, but
much more tasteful than a mere 'shredder' who makes the instrument beg
for mercy with endless neoclassical arpeggio blasts and brutal
polyrhythms."

Clark Colborn says this about Zappa: "Frank Zappa's total musical
fearlessness, sense of humor, and sense of absurdity totally
captivated me when I was a teenager, and over the years he has been an
influence on me in so many ways that it is hard to describe." Colborn
goes on to say, "I've never tried to be a clone of Frank or to write
music that sounded like him. I have always tried to be me, and just
let the principles Frank embraced guide me at times when I felt lost.
This has led to musical compositions that didn't really fit with most
of what I do as a solo artist stylistically." When it comes to this
particular project, Colborn says, "I want my fans to hear how he has
influenced me, so I put four of my songs that FZ inspired me to write,
plus a cover of his immortal "My Guitar Wants to Kill Your Mama"
together on this new EP. They are a little crazy, musically,
lyrically, or both, but it is not my fault, really. Frank made me do
it."

The artwork was done by Maciek Kamuda, a very talented graphic designer known from his long-time co-operation with stoner, doom and sludge scene.
 
The band was formed in 1991 in Sandomierz, Poland, and after four years released its debut album "Ecstasy". Their second studio album, "Bacchus Songs", was released in 1996. Their next albums  - "Pussyworld" (2002), "Orgasmusica" (2003), and "Virgin's Milk" (2005) - were recorded under Metal Mind's flag. Their only live DVD release entitled "Hellectrify Yourself" saw the light of the day in 2004. Their latest album so far, "Bourbon River Bank", was released in 2011. The band went through many changes but today return in a stable line-up: Piotr "Anioł" Wącisz (bass, backing vocals), Daniel "Dani" Lechmański (guitars, lead vocals) Piotr "Rutkoś" Rutkowski (guitars, lead vocals), and Bartek "Vincent" Gamracy (drums). The names should be well-known to the fans of Polish metal, as the musicains are also active members of the following bands: Virgin Snatch, Exlibris, Spirit, Chain Reaction and Dr.Ink.
 
In Autumn 2013, the band started to work on their new album "Devil's Share". It was recorded at Sound Division Studio in Warsaw, Poland, in March 2014, with Filip Heinrich Hałuchy (Vesania, Decapitated, Rootwater) from Heinrich House Studio handling the mix and mastering. The band's seventh studio release features 11 tracks full of catchy stoner rock guitars and good old stoner energy. A must-have for fans of Monster Magnet, Kyuss, Mustasch, and Orange Goblin.

Nazareth to release Rock 'n' Roll Telephone on June 3rd

With a career spanning 45 years and 22 albums, rockers Nazareth are back with Rock 'n' Roll Telephone, which will be released on June 3, 2014.
 
The band's 23rd studio album, their first since 2011's Big Dogz, features 11 original heavy rockers and bluesy ballads. The Deluxe digipack edition will include a second disc with two additional studio recordings and five live tracks, and will also be available in a double LP gate fold vinyl version.
 
A welcome return to form, this may be the last album to feature original singer Dan McCafferty, who has refrained from touring due to health issues. If this does prove to be Dan's last stand, he retires on a high note with his legacy as one of rock's greatest vocalists assured.
 
Having initially broken in to the London-dominated music scene of the '70s with their unique brand of rock (they were named Melody Maker's 'Brightest Hope' in 1973), the band have spent over forty years touring the world and releasing new music. One of rock's most enduring acts, they have played everywhere from Russia to a mountain top gig in the Austrian Alps last year, and continue with a resilience and longevity that is almost unmatched.
 
The band have sold in excess of 30 million albums worldwide and have cracked the Top 10 in the U.S., Canada and Europe, having had many number ones in countries too numerous to list.
 
Nazareth are an acknowledged influence on superstars Guns 'n' Roses and countless other hard rockers who have followed in their wake, assuring their place amongst the greats of rock 'n' roll.

Tank announce first ever Brazilian dates for June 2014

Legendary Metal band Tank have just announced dates for a short headline tour of Brazil. Billed as the Brazilian Assault Tour this will be the band's first ever visit to South America. Dates are as follows:

Original Dragonforce vocalist ZP Theart will be fronting the band and this will be his first time back in Brazil since leaving Dragonforce. On drums will be former Sodom drummer Bobby Schottkowski and Barend Courbois of Blind Guardian will be handling the bass.
 
Mick Tucker: "We take our metal very seriously. We always aim to give the fans the best show possible. You can only do that by having the best musicians. These guys really know what they're doing when it comes to metal. Experience is everything. It's in our blood."
 
Cliff Evans: "We've been lucky enough to have worked with some of the best names in rock. Our last two albums, 'War Machine' and 'War Nation', featured former Rainbow and current Michael Schenker vocalist Doogie White. They were two of our most successful albums and Doogie will be joining us again later in the summer for some shows in Europe. We're fortunate to be able to draw from this pool of amazing musicians who are more than happy to be a part of the Tank experience. We're really looking forward to bringing the show to Brazil."
 
European dates will be announced soon and the band will be returning to the studio later this year to record the follow up to 'War Nation' which will be released through Metal Mind Productions.
