ALTERNATIVE ROCK BAND NOISEMATE TO RE-RELEASE DEBUT EP

Debut EP "One More Round" to be re-released on February 5th via Musicarchy Media

Five-piece alternative rock band NOISEMATE is set to re-release their debut EP "One More Round" on February 5th.

The band formed in London in 2015. Boasting a multinational and multi-talented line up, they represent the current state of modern rock music, with members from three different countries – Hungary, England and Italy.  Created from the unifying nature of music, NOISEMATE embody the idea that good music doesn't have cultural boundaries. The band works relentlessly on every aspect of the project, from their website, to graphic work, to producing their own music and the video for lead single "Never Forget Youth".

NOISEMATE has now joined forces with Musicarchy Media for the digital re-issue of "One More Round" in order to take their music to bigger audiences. In the meantime, the band declares that they already have enough material for a full album.

The re-release will include an additional bonus track. See the tracklisting below:

1) Jump Out Of The World
2) Keep Going On
3) Something More
4) Never Forget Youth
5) Heartbeat

What's music legend KEVIN GODLEY (10cc / Godley & Creme) doing now? HOG FEVER the Ear Movie, that's what.

RICHARD LA PLANTE: I'm dribbling into a microphone in a tiny LA sound studio, trying to record an audio book of my memoir HOG FEVER and the sound engineer looks as bored as I feel. Then a thought hits me like the crack of thunder from a V-Twin exhaust. Boom! Why don't I do the Hog Fever screenplay, not the book, and get real actors, Terence Stamp, sound effects, Rock music, the works? I'll phone my writing buddy, Kevin Godley - the Scorsese of music video and we'll call it an, an…

KEVIN GODLEY: An Ear Movie? Damn right! Once Terence was in, I was, but what the hell is an Ear Movie anyway? Well, it's a pure audio experience with music plus all the production values of a movie but without any er…pictures! Anyway, once we started writing, a few things became obvious. A) Lose anything that relies on seeing. B) Don't get lost in sound for sound's sake. C) Write until your eyes bleed…but hey, who needs eyes, anyway? We're making an EAR MOVIE!

"HOG FEVER should be outlawed. It's contagious." - Sunday Times

Midway between the satire of Spinal Tap and the pathos of American Beauty lies the schizophrenic state of mind known as Hog Fever. On the surface this is the story of a man, a motorcycle, and a teetering bank balance. But lurking beneath is the story of a lost soul in search of freedom - or at least one last stab at it. Motivated by the emasculating success of his British screenwriter wife and a love of Easy Rider and The Wild One, Robert Lourdes, a struggling American author on the cusp of forty, finds solace in the Harley-Davidson legend. Hog Fever is Robert's comedy of errors as he embarks on a toot, tattoo-and-testosterone-fueled quest to find himself.

The HOG FEVER CD and download comprises Episodes 1 through 5 plus bonus music soundtrack including 4 original songs by Kevin Godley (10 CC, Godley & Creme, GG/06) 'The Bad & The Beautiful' 'Work Song' 'Just Write' and 'Confession.' and a special track by Daniel Ash (Bauhaus, Love and Rockets) 'Flame On.'

*Features Oscar nominee Terence Stamp and a full supporting cast
*Adapted for the ears by Kevin Godley from Richard La Plante's memoir Hog Fever
*Directed by Kevin Godley
*Produced by Escargot Books
*Sound design by Kevin Godley and Ivan Jackman
*Original songs by Richard La Plante, Mark Ling, Daniel Ash, Billy Goodrum, and Kevin Godley
*Original songs produced by Greg Penny and Kevin Godley
*Incidental music written and produced by Kevin Godley and Ivan Jackman

The title role in Steven Soderbergh's The Limey, returned him to leading man status and recently Stamp has worked beside Jim Carrey, Tom Cruise, and Matt Damon. His latest film is Big Eyes, directed by Tim Burton. His first Ear Movie is Hog Fever, directed by Kevin Godley.

RICHARD LA PLANTE: is a musician, songwriter and the bestselling author of eight novels and two memoirs, including HOG FEVER, on which this fictionalized Ear Movie is based.

KEVIN GODLEY: is a musician, writer, artist, inventor, and award-winning music video director. He was a founder member of Art Rock band 10cc and Godley & Creme. His music video credits include the Beatles, U2, Peter Gabriel, Sting, Keane, Eric Clapton, Snow Patrol, Alabama 3, and Lou Reed. MARTIN BARRE TO TOUR AMERICA — THE SOUTH AND EAST COAST-NOV. 15 THROUGH DEC. 20.

(Jethro Tull Guitarist's music also has touch of blues; he's doing tour press)

Martin Barre will be headlining his first solo tour of the States, starting this November as he is playing CRUISE TO THE EDGE November 15-19 with Yes, Marillion, Spock's Beard, Enchant and rising prog guitarist Randy McStine. (In 2004, Martin co-billed in the United States with Willie Porter, whom he met when Porter opened for Jethro Tull in 2003.)

After Cruise to the Edge, Martin starts his solo date in Del Ray, Florida at the Arts Center on November 21, which is almost sold out.  The tour moves up the east coast through Fayette, Alabama, Tupelo, MS; Jackson, MS, Shreveport, LA; Atlanta, GA; Asheville, NC; Vienna, VA; Rocky Mount, VA; Sellersville,PA; Binghamton, PA, Cleveland, OH; Rochester, NY; New York City, and other TBA shows.

For the past four years Martin has toured the world with his own band to play the "classic" music from the Jethro Tull catalogue, but also many new tracks written by Martin including his new album, BACK TO STEEL, (plus his two recent solo albums MARTIN BARRE and AWAY WITH WORDS).

For 43 years Martin Barre was the renowned guitarist of Jethro Tull, and his role in the band cannot be overestimated. Bruce Eder wrote on allmusic.com, "His playing has provided much of the energy that allows the band to soar on record and in concert."

His unique sound and style contributed enormously to their success, which includes several chart topping albums, eleven gold and five platinum albums, a Grammy Award for CREST OF A KNAVE in 1988, and album sales exceeding 60 million units. Tull continues to be played worldwide, representing an important part of classic rock history.

Martin's guitar playing has earned him respect and recognition; he's been voted among the best ever in the USA and in the UK for his playing on "Aqualung." Beyond numerous Jethro Tull albums, Martin has plied those award-winning chops with many other distinguished artists, including Paul McCartney, Phil Collins, Gary Moore, Joe Bonamassa and Chris Thompson. He has shared a stage with such legends as Jimi Hendrix, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin.

Redoubtable drummer George Lindsay, alongside super songwriter and bass player Alan Thomson form the core of Martin's accomplished band, with vocals performed by the talented and distinctive Dan Crisp. All members are committed to giving the Tull fans and a broader audience the chance to hear tracks not performed for many years with a few surprises along the way.

Guitar Virtuoso John Jorgenson to Release Limited Edition, 3-CD Box Set Divertuoso

Brilliant guitarist!" - ELTON JOHN

Los Angeles - Much to the excitement of guitar players and musicians worldwide, John Jorgenson will release Divertuoso, a limited edition, 3-CD box set of three separate, all-new full-length albums featuring three of Jorgenson's band configurations (gypsy jazz, bluegrass and electric) via Cleopatra Records on October 16, 2015.

Jorgenson's career has been wide-ranging, including playing lead guitar in Elton John's band for seven years; being a co-founder of both the groundbreaking The Hellecasters and The Desert Rose Band; being widely known as the U.S. Ambassador of Gypsy Jazz; and portraying Django Reinhardt in the Hollywood feature film Head In The Clouds. Jorgenson has recorded or toured with the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Luciano Pavarotti, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, The Byrds, Johnny Cash, Bob Seger, Willie Nelson and many others. Jorgenson is a GRAMMY Award-winner and has won many other awards, including being three-time Academy of Country Music (ACM) Guitarist of the Year.

Totaling 40 tracks in all, Divertuoso showcases Jorgenson's incredible virtuosity as both a musician and songwriter in a variety of styles. Considered a master of the electric and acoustic guitar, and many other instruments, Jorgenson plays 12 instruments on the box set (acoustic guitar, electric guitar, mandolin, bouzouki, clarinet, mandocello, soprano sax, bass, hammond organ, bassoon, keyboards, percussion), as well as vocals, and he composed a majority of the material. This release is a singular accomplishment not only for Jorgenson, but also for the guitar community as a whole. His mastery of these three disparate styles (gypsy jazz, bluegrass and rock) is on full display throughout these recordings.

The three records that are part of Divertuoso are:
John Jorgenson Quintet - Returning
J2B2 (John Jorgenson Bluegrass Band Featuring Herb Pedersen, Jon Randall & Mark Fain) - From The Crow's Nest
John Jorgenson - Gifts From The Flood

"I feel like a huge overview of my musical life is contained in this project," Jorgenson said. "It incorporates many of the diverse styles that all co-exist in my world. Had I thought very long beforehand, I could have easily gotten overwhelmed at the amount of actual work it would take to create such a large body of work, but it really came together pretty naturally. I'm both relieved and proud to have Divertuoso out in the world."

Returning is the latest recording by gypsy jazz veterans the John Jorgenson Quintet. Their music, both live and recorded, is a time-and-space transcending experience. All but two of the album's 13 tracks were written by Jorgenson himself. Jorgenson plays acoustic guitar, bouzouki, clarinet, mandolin, mandocello, and soprano sax on the record, and sings on one song. The New York Times has been quoted as saying: "Jorgenson is perhaps the best jazz guitarist alive."

The 15-track From The Crow's Nest by bluegrass supergroup J2B2 (John Jorgenson Bluegrass Band featuring Herb Pedersen, Jon Randall & Mark Fain) was recorded at Sheryl Crow's home barn studio in Nashville over the course of three days. Pedersen (The Dillards and Old And In The Way) is a legendary vocal arranger and musician who also co-founded The Desert Rose Band with Jorgenson. Hit songwriter Randall, a former member of Emmylou Harris' Nash Ramblers, has toured with Earl Scruggs and Sam Bush. Fain is the long-time bassist for Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder. The record includes lead and harmony vocals by Jorgenson, Randall and Pedersen, and when the three sing together, a magical 60's/70's folk air transforms the typical bluegrass "high lonesome harmonies" into an entirely different dimension. In addition to his vocal work, Jorgenson plays mandolin and acoustic guitar. Songwriters contributing to the record include Jorgenson, Pedersen, Randall (co-writer of the CMA Song of the Year, "Whiskey Lullaby," with Bill Anderson, included in this set), Rodney Crowell, Guy Clark, JD Souther, Mitchell Jayne and Rodney Dillard (members of The Dillards) and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Member Chris Hillman (The Byrds, The Flying Burrito Brothers).

The third album, Gifts From The Flood, is a John Jorgenson solo electric record. Jorgenson plays everything on it (guitars, bass, Hammond organ, clarinet, bassoon, keyboards, and percussion) with the exception of drums, which are played by Greg Morrow. The concept is an interesting one; Jorgenson had many guitars and amps completely ruined in the Nashville flood of 2010. As the guitars were restored and each one came back to him, new songs seemed to flow out of each one. The gratitude Jorgenson had just for having them back is captured on this record. Each song was named simply after the guitar that was used to create it, and all of the songs were written by Jorgenson alone. With everything from straight-ahead rock, to country-flavored picking (including a special guest appearance by Brad Paisley on one track), to cool surf-flavored grooves, Gifts From The Flood is anything but standard.

Here's what others have said about John Jorgenson:

"John Jorgenson is one of my most favorite players. He is incredibly versatile and his solos are unique and melodic, played with amazing technique. 'My' guitarist's guitarist." - PETER FRAMPTON

"If there was one guitar player I'd like to be, it would be John Jorgenson." - BRAD PAISLEY

"John Jorgenson is a true artiste. He's a phenomenal musician." - CHRIS HILLMAN

"This is a display of virtuosity rarely rendered." - FRETBOARD JOURNAL

"John Jorgenson is one of the most respected guitarists in the world…" - LOS ANGELES TIMES

"John Jorgenson has a rare kind of genius for an instrumentalist in that he's equally comfortable and capable of playing Buck Owens, Beatles riffs, or jazz leads…" - NO DEPRESSION

FROZEN OCEAN – THE PROWESS OF DORMITION

Since 2005 multi-instrumentalist Vaarwel has been creating music of incredible power, imagination, diversity and depth and releasing it under the banner of Frozen Ocean. From his studio base in the Russian wilderness he has allowed his creativity free rein to roam and explore – unhindered by the expectations of any scene, with utter disregard for the unwritten rules of any genre. His thoughts have wandered through the fantasy worlds of Tove Jansson to the cold darkness of deep space, pondered the vastness of the universe and the intimate intensity of personal emotions and the music of Frozen Ocean has followed, morphing and expanding, changing and becoming whatever is needed to find the perfect expression of those thoughts.

Frozen Ocean has called a host of labels home on this odyssey, but now the nomadic wanderer has united with Apocalyptic Witchcraft; a label that seeks out the most creative and independently minded of artists. Frozen Ocean and Apocalyptic Witchcraft are the perfect match and the first fruits of their union are with you now, in the stunning form of The Prowess Of Dormition. These four sprawling tracks of stirring, thrilling, melodic blackened metal are a celebration of this new chapter in Frozen Ocean's journey. They draw you into a world beyond the everyday, offer you escape to a wild, fantastical ride so perfectly realised you can taste it and feel the cold winds of winter on your face. Let these songs bring your imagination to life, stir your blood and show you realms undreamt of.

For too long Frozen Ocean has been a jealously guarded secret, the province of the select few. The Prowess Of Dormition at last opens the doors to the kingdom and welcomes you in...

Gary Lucas And Jann Klose’s STEREOPTICON To Be Released January 8, 2016

This January 8, 2016 guitarist Gary Lucas and singer Jann Klose are releasing 10 songs they've collaborated on the past three years. Look for STEREOPTICON on Cosmic Trigger Records/The Orchard. The album was recorded in New York City's premiere analog studio The Maid's Room in September 2014 and June 2015.

Jann says "A Stereopticon is a classic slide projector that combines two images to create a three-dimensional effect. The title fit since there are the two of us and the album was recorded live on two-inch tape, the classic analog recording technique."

Gary explains how the two create their new songs, "There is a lot you can do with just voice and guitar; we took influences from all over the Americana spectrum, and added a few odd surprises."

"Secret Wings" was one of their first collaborations. Jann says, "It's about the City beating you down and making it through the noise and craziness, especially in New York City!" Created by DeAngela Napier, "Secret Wings" is the duo's new music video and available on YouTube. "Secret Wings" features scenes of the City, from jarring cabs and graffiti to comfort zones like Jann and Gary playing at the Rockwood Music Hall and breathing in Central Park. (In fact Gary will be sitting in with Jann at the Rockwood Stage 3 on the 21st of December at 8:30 PM. After that date, the two will be back on the road in Germany, Washington, DC…)

The jazzy "Fair Weather" is about two-faced people, while the Canned Heat-influenced "Walking And Talking" and the dramatic "Take Your Medicine" fit perfectly on blues radio.

Some songs "Nobody's Talking" (about cellphone users who text in the company of friends) and a few with double-entendres: the sea shanty "Jewel Julia" and acoustic blues song "Let No One Come Between Us" were co-written with Dan Beck (who has collaborated with Dion DiMucci, the Iron Cityhouse Rockers, and the Rascals' Felix Cavaliere). Dan also contributed to the Renaissance-esque "Overture," and the pop-influenced "Well of Loneliness."

Dan co-wrote "Mary Magdalene," which has found support from a variety of New York City-area stations as the song supports the people in Long Island, Queens, Staten Island, Brooklyn, and New Jersey still struggling to get their lives back to normal since Oct. 29, 2012's Superstorm Sandy. (Gary and Jann encourage their fans to donate to the Island Park Volunteer Fire Dept., P.O Box 500, Island Park, NY 11558 or online at 2ndbattalion.org/departments/island-park)

STEREOPTICON is produced by Jann, Gary, and Dan, who call themselves "Dr. Tre." The album was engineered by Jack McKeever (Joan As Police Woman, Anna & Kate McGarrigle) and Jason Candler (Christine Lavin, Queen Esther), who also plays tenor sax on "Nobody's Talking." STEREOPTICON was mastered by Ben Kesler (Robert Randolph and the Family Band).

While Jann and Gary write as collaborators in the Roots Music Genre, both artists are eclectic musicians that tour throughout the world on their own.

Gary's co-written hits with artists Joan Osborne: "Spider Web," and Jeff Buckley's "Grace" and "Mojo Pin." He's worked extensively with Captain Beefheart. ROLLING STONE says Gary is, "One of the best and most original guitarists in America...a modern guitar miracle." He just received the Premio Ciampi Lifetime Achievement Award in Italy, named for one of Italy's most famous songwriters. In 2014, Gary received the Ambassador's Award for Cultural Diplomacy from the US Consul General of Milan.  His long-awaited GARY LUCAS' FLEISCHEREI: MUSIC FROM MAX FLEISCHER CARTOONS will be released on Cuneiform, February 2016. He is currently collaborating with Steve Kilbey (The Church), and Chris Shinn (new lead singer of Live), and was (this fall) Music Director of "State of Grace," a multi-artist Australian tribute to Tim and Jeff Buckley.

Born in Germany and raised in Kenya, South Africa and the United States, Jann is currently collaborating with Ann Hampton Callaway, Renaissance's Annie Haslam, Hall & Oates' John Oates and The Yardbirds' Jim McCarty. In 2015 Jann and his music appeared in the short film THE BEAUTY OF DISASTER (Glimmer Girl, USA) and the award-winning Australian feature documentary A VENUE FOR THE END OF THE WORLD (BrinkVision, USA). His most recent album, MOSAIC won three 2014 Independent Music Awards and charted for several months on the AMA and Roots Rock charts.

Gary and Jann both worked on the movie GREETINGS FROM TIM BUCKLEY (Tribeca Film/Focus/Universal). Jann is the singing voice of Tim Buckley, while Gary consulted and played guitar. Tony Award winner Frank Wood plays Gary in the film.

King Crimson and Asia Legend John Wetton Releases “Live Via Satellite” OUT NOW!

London, UK - JOHN WETTON is the lead singer of ASIA, UK and the "Red" era of KING CRIMSON, with an extensive solo catalogue, which now includes "Live via Satellite"

This 2 CD set collects together both of John Wetton's acoustic solo concerts for radio broadcasts. The XM radio broadcast was only available for sale via his website over 10 years ago and has never had a commercial release.

The Swedish radio broadcast (previously unreleased) was thought lost in a fire, until a duplicate of the master tapes was found thanks to a long and tireless search by John Wetton's fans.

Of the release, John Wetton said: "Both of these shows are from the same time period, but come from very different sources. The first, a Circus tent-like venue in a funfair in Stockholm: the second, a state-of-the-art facility in Washington DC, so the repertoire is similar, but venues could not be more different. Recording production is superb on both, it's a document of a slice of my life."

As a lead singer, bassist and songwriter, John Wetton initially rose to fame with King Crimson and after that Wetton co-founded UK. In the early 1980s he was the frontman of the super-group Asia, his biggest commercial success.  ASIA's self-titled debut album was the biggest selling album in the world in 1982 and the band continues to this day.

He later formed the duo Icon with Geoff Downes (YES and The Buggles) and has had a successful solo career releasing a large number of studio and live albums, including the recent compilation The Studio Recordings Anthology.

John Wetton's "Live via Satellite" will be released 9th October 2015 and is part of the ongoing release schedule of his own Primary Purpose label, working via Cherry Red.

NAVIGATOR - "Phantom Ships"
Here's a review of NAVIGATOR and it's latest CD from "Phantom Ships" Eric Harabadian. Thanks Eric! The latest release from this Buffalo, New York quartet further solidifies their prog-rock cred as one of the leaders of the genre. First of all, it's great that the original members Marcangelo Perricelli (keyboards/lead vocals), Michael Soro (guitars), Rick Catanese (bass) and Rob Thurman (drums.vocals) are back in the fold. And the writing and arrangements are dynamic, sharp and breathtakingly precise. Perricelli has a voice that falls somewhere between Saga's Michael Sadler and early Dennis DeYoung; eloquent and distinctive. That's evident from the first few bars of "Life". The song ripples with an early Ambrosia kind of feel going through a series of thematic changes and resolving to a majestic coda. "Open Air" is another track that recalls classic Styx or Rush and its larger than life Sonics and enveloping atmosphere. At over 15 minutes the epic title track appropriately takes center stage. This is the gold standard in terms of momentous rockers as Perricelli creates a sea of sound via his keyboard-based Masterson Symphony Orchestra.

GOD INC. - "Minstrel's Tale"
History is written by the victors. Therefore, history does not represent the true story of events, but only an interpretation. That was the basis behind this album. Imagine a society so advanced as to make a man nearly immortal; he doesn't age and he heals very fast. He is a witness to history. He may not participate, only watch. Then his civilisation crumbles. Pockets of humans survive and try to rebuild, generally meeting with failure. He must watch and may not assist directly. After travelling the world for thousands of years, he must decide whether it's worth continuing or whether he should just die. This is where we meet the protagonist of our story. Inside the walls of Troy, the night before the Greeks invade. Minstrel's Tale follows him through to the middle ages.

The album features 27 re-recordings made in 2001 including the HITS Lady in Black, July Morning and Easy Livin'.

RIKARD SJÖBLOM - "The Unbendable Sleep"
Swedish progressive rock purveyors, Beardfish have been one of the most prolific bands on the scene for almost two decades. Founded by multi-instrumentalist Rikard Sjöblom, the band has been on a winning streak since 2001. However, Sjöblom has been a part of different music projects over the years, most notably he released albums under the name Gungfly, and he has also been a part of UK progressive rock band Big Big Train recently. Over the past few months, Rikard worked on a solo album which will be released in February 2016. Titled "The Unbendable Sleep," the record brings eight songs which certainly possess quality to appeal to music fans of different genres. Sjöblom has once again created a diverse album, but in a more intimate format than we are accustomed to.

BEARDFISH’s RIKARD SJÖBLOM Announces Solo Album “The Unbendable Sleep”

Speaking about his decision to release an album under his name at this point of his career, Rikard says: "There are a number of reasons why I did this, but the main one is that Gungfly which started out as a solo project later became more of a band with members and all that and it's a really good band and I love it and all that but I guess to really be solo you almost have to use your birth name?

He continues: "I've only released one album under my name before and that was recorded in 2003, released in 2006. It's called 'Cyklonmannen' and it's an instrumental, musical interpretation of a novel with the same name written by Sweden's only beatnik writer Sture Dahlström. It's pretty obscure stuff! But, the guy who made quite a lot of the book covers for Sture is called Bernt Daniels and he's the same guy who has painted the cover painting of 'The Unbendable Sleep.' So that was another reason, because when I asked permission from Bernt to use the book cover back in 2006 he sent me this postcard with this painting on it and it was Beste Schweizermilch, the very same painting you see on the cover of 'The Unbendable Sleep,' and I just fell in love with it and decided that I wanted to use it someday. So, it's quite fitting that Bernt Daniels has made the cover paintings of the only two albums I've made as Rikard Sjöblom, don't you think?

"It also feels like it's the right time to do it because right now I'm involved in many different interesting projects and I've longed to make something that is completely me now for a while, so it's the right time!"

Thematically, "The Unbendable Sleep" goes around the usual subjects: love, life, death, and it deals a lot with self-esteem and believing in yourself. "Sounds cheesy, I know, but it's pretty important stuff," Rikard continues. "I found myself singing about mirrors quite a lot and that's also referring to just that, looking into the mirror and not recognizing the person staring back at you."

Sjöblom says that he has plans for performing these songs live. "I really want to take this music out on the road," he admits, "but I don't want to lock myself in with just doing band-stuff. At the moment I'm very much into to doing solo shows as well with just an acoustic (and maybe an electric too) guitar and my voice, but you can't do that with all of the material, so there will be a full on band as well. Hopefully I can book something in the near future!"

"The Unbendable Sleep" will be available starting February as digital download and CD via Gungfly Productions. The vinyl version of the album will be available from Plane Groovy.

The Unbendable Sleep track listing:

01. Love And War Part One: I Am Who You Are

03. Rhyme and Reason
04. Will We Cry?
05. Under Northern Skies (Villemo's Song)

MAGNUM - New album Sacred Blood "Divine" Lies out February 26th, 2016

For a musician like Tony Clarkin who composes constantly, viewing and selecting the material he has written is always one of the most significant moments during the creation process of a new Magnum album. On the one hand it's a luxury to have the opportunity to separate the wheat from the chaff and to be in a position to use only the strongest numbers. On the other hand it's also a difficult process, because after all the creator of those songs has grown fond of every single one of them. "I usually start composing for our next album immediately after the release of the previous one," Clarkin explains. "When Escape From The Shadow Garden arrived at the stores in March 2014, my thoughts had already turned to our next recording." Clarkin wrote 25 new songs during the subsequent mo nths, the most promising 13 of which were selected for Sacred Blood "Divine" Lies. Ten of those tracks made it onto the new album, the other three onto the included bonus CD. "It would have been too much of a shame to disregard them," Clarkin reckons, "particularly since our fans want to know after every release what happened to the rest of the material. This time they're getting it in addition to the album tracks."

The ten numbers on the regular album present Magnum from their most rocking side again. The epicentre of this soundquake features, along with frontman Bob Catley's charismatic voice, Clarkin's awesome riff and lead guitar which provides the all-important substructure to the songs. Courtesy of his driving style, Sacred Blood "Divine" Lies counts without a doubt among the group's most dynamic releases. Clarkin: "I've always been into rock numbers. But it isn't necessarily that easy to write really good rock material. It's much more simple to compose a ballad. But that dynamic pace suits Magnum perfectly."

Clarkin is referring mainly to the title track and opener of the new album. "I feel that Bob delivered it really well," Clarkin praises his vocalist Bob Catley. "As far as I am concerned, ´Sacred Blood – Devine Lies` is definitely likely to join the ranks of great Magnum classics." So it comes as no surprise that Sacred Blood "Divine" Lies with its significant message became the album title.

Of course there are more highlights on this thoroughly powerful recording. Clarkin was inspired to write the anthemnic ´Gypsy Queen` at a concert in St. Petersburg, a city which deeply impressed him with its unique atmosphere. By no means less memorable is ´Your Dreams Won't Die´ which is based on a piano chord sequence and could lead you to believe that Magnum have put to music their own band philosophy. "To me, the title and lyrics have an almost religious depth," says Clarkin. "There's a saying that somebody is not forgotten if their name is remembered." A successful rock group like Magnum should be entitled to eternal renown, shouldn't it? Says Clarkin: "You want my honest opinion? I don't think that far ahead, but of course it's a nice notion that this band may always be remembered because so many people love our music."

And last but not least: Sacred Blood "Divine" Lies closes with a song which surprised even Clarkin. "I liked the general sound of ´Don't Cry Baby` from the start," he remarks. "Although I initially didn't have a lyric, the melody kept going through my head, as well as the chorus with acoustic and e-guitars plus piano. We even kept the drums from the demo version because our drummer Harry James liked them so much. He said: ´I love it the way it is. We shouldn't change a thing about it.`"

So here it is: Sacred Blood "Divine" Lies - again with a fantastic cover by Rodney Matthews - has been scheduled for release by Steamhammer/SPV on 26 February 2016 as digipak version incl. DVD, 2LP coloured version, CD and Download and will – you don't need to be a clairvoyant to predict this – be loved by the band's fans. That Clarkin will probably already have his mind on Magnum's next release by that time – well, that's another story.
