The Band Fen get personal invitation to open Blackfield gig in Vancouver

In the nine months or so since the release of Trails Out of Gloom, Vancouver, British Columbia's progressive alt-rockers Fen have received numerous accolades from the media and music fans world-wide. After topping many Best of Lists from 2010 and attracting the ears of numerous radio stations State-side, Fen has been personally invited to open for the illustrious UK art rock outfit Blackfield as they make their way across North America this spring. On May 30th, 2011, Fen will share the stage with Blackfield at the 1,000 seat Rickshaw Theater (for tickets) located in downtown Vancouver. Led by Porcupine Tree founder Steven Wilson and Israeli singer Aviv Geffen, Blackfield are on tour in support of their latest record, Welcome to My DNA, which kicked off on April 1st in Tel Aviv, Israel.

"This show is a great opportunity for us to play our songs for a bigger than normal audience--one that might not despise us for being a little different," states guitarist and lead vocalist Doug Harrison, "We're looking forward to converting a few grumps, then slipping into the crowd and watching Blackfield. It should be a good time for all."
