Lonely Robot, the new project masterminded by producer, guitarist and vocalist John Mitchell (It Bites, Frost*, Arena), is set to release its debut album Please Come Home on March 10th, 2015, in North America. John Mitchell had this to say about the first full track to be released from the album: "God vs Man, the human race seeks to control and overcome everything it comes into contact with. Just because science and progress says we can doesn't mean we should".

John Mitchell had this to say about the project: "I'd long thought about doing an album where I could have total control from start to finish with the music, lyrics, production, and choosing who I wanted to contribute - expanding from the idea of just a solo album. Musically, this album is very proggy, but more about atmosphere than technical expertise, inspired by my love of science fiction and interest in the evolution of the human race."

Ungod was recorded, mixed and mastered in November and December 2014 by Jörn Michutta and Matthias Klinkmann at Sound Division Tonstudio in the band's initial home-area of Sauerland, Germany, after having successfully tested the studio for the God Is Evil EP. Following the dynamic overture piece "House Of Blood", the rhythmical energy of the opening "Voice Of Slumber" and the relentless heaviness of "Snakestate" and "Black Enemy", the album continues both a merciless and yet extremely diverse path with the up-tempo of "Descent Into Hell" as well as a first epic intermezzo with the album's instrumental title track "Ungod" closing off the first chapter. Things pick up steam again with the catchy brutality of "Nemesis" and the title-track of the preceding EP, "God Is Evil", before reaching another furious cornerstone with "Traitor". The album's ending section showcases the versatile and grooving "Prison In Flesh", which carries over into an atmospheric final instrumental-piece dubbed "The Dark Sleep". Behold the arrival of the Ungod!

ASPHYX - "The Rack" and "Last One On Earth" vinyl reissues coming in March!

Originally released in 1991 ("The Rack") and 1992 ("Last One On
Earth"), the first two full-length albums by much respected Dutch
death/doom commando ASPHYX, are considered immortal classics of the
genre now finally returning back on vinyl! Both are set for worldwide
release on March 16th, 2015 via Century Media Records.

ASPHYX vocalist Martin van Drunen has checked in with the following
comment about these re-releases: "Over the years Century Media has put
out a lot of superb vinyl re-releases. Especially for that LP freak of
today for whom it's difficult, if not impossible, to find the
originals. Even I couldn't obtain everything as a young metalhead back
in the days and therefore I am happy that labels do decide to
re-release some sonic classics. And so is the case with these first
two Asphyx albums. After the mauling "Death...The Brutal Way" and
crushing "Deathhammer", old and new Asphyx fans are now given the
opportunity to add "The Rack" and "Last One On Earth" to their vinyl
collection. Two outstanding re-releases by dedicated metalheads for
loyal metalheads. Kept as close to the originals as possible, not only
when it comes to the artwork of ancient master Axel Hermann, but also
sound-wise these take you back to the early days of true Death

90's recordings and were specially mastered for vinyl by Patrick W.
Engel / Temple Of Disharmony (Massacra, Dissection, Grave) in December
2014, allowing you to enjoy these classics in their authentic,

ZONER is the one-man project of seasoned musician Antonis Demetriou based in Nicosia, Cyprus. Drawing from all of his favorite musical influences Antonis manages to convince that he is a determined, passionate and gifted songwriter and performer. All instruments and vocals, arrangements and overall production are by Antonis himself making it very clear that the result is that of pure labor of love.
 
In his own words, Antonis describes ZONER as "a rock/metal band with influences ranging from 'ABBA to Zappa' via all the VERY best in pop, rock, prog, punk, funk, disco, hard, heavy and thrash!"
 
ZONER songs cover a pretty wide musical spectrum and tend to deviate from the norm. From acoustic rock to full blown metal and anything in between, sometimes all these elements within one song, there is something for everyone. Plain and simply ZONER is an aural rewarding journey into the unknown, especially if you miss the way records used to be!

Mark Wingfield's influences are rooted in John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Keith Jarrett, Jan Garbarek, Jimi Hendrix  and as well in  jazz, rock, Indian, Japanese, African and classical music. Part of the hallmark of both his guitar playing and his composing, is that these influences are fused with western classical music, and integrated into a distinctive musical voice. His compositions blend lyrical melodies with a distinctive harmonic palette and sometimes complex rhythmic components. Tank reveal the title and release date of their new album!

As recently announced, Metal Mind Productions extended the recording deal with the British heavy metal legend – TANK. Through the years, Metal Mind have re-released the band's back catalogue and released their recent albums "War Machine" (2010) and "War Nation" (2012). TANK's forthcoming album titled "Valley of Tears" is scheduled for release on June, 8th in Europe and June, 9th in North America (via MVD).
 
Cliff Evans, TANK's guitarist, comments: "The title comes from the famous Tank battle during the 1973 Yom Kippur War where one side was massively outnumbered but fought on regardless and against all odds secured a heroic victory. We feel that our style of metal is slowly disappearing and now we must also fight against the odds to keep it alive. Guitar Virtuoso and Supertramp Legend Carl Verheyen To Release Second Acoustic Solo Album 'Alone'

Los Angeles, CA - Guitar aficionados worldwide are eagerly awaiting the release of the new album by guitar virtusoso and Supertramp legend Carl Verheyen on February 14th. Titled 'Alone', this is Carl's second acoustic solo album. In his 40-plus years of playing the instrument, Carl Verheyen has created a wildly successful, multi-faceted career. He is a critically-acclaimed musician, vocalist, songwriter, arranger, producer and educator with 13 CDs and two live DVDs released worldwide. Carl is commonly regarded as a guitar virtuoso capable of playing any style of music with remarkable mastery and conviction. He has been one of LA's elite "first call" session players for the past 25 years, playing on hundreds of records, movie soundtracks and television shows. Carl has graced the pages of countless industry publications and been the subject of numerous articles chronicling his rise to the forefront of the modern day guitar scene.

The idea for Carl's acoustic solo albums was established many years before he became a guitar hero. Carl relates, "When I was 11 years old and 3 months into guitar lessons, my Dad came into my room and said, 'Play me something, son.' So I played the riff to 'Satisfaction' by the Rolling Stones and he said, 'No, play me a song!' When I argued that this was a song he asked, 'Where's the melody?' I replied that the singer sings the melody and he's not here! But he wouldn't buy that answer and said, 'You should be able to play an entire song.' From that day onward I've endeavored to arrange and play solo guitar and compose original music for it. Since this instrument is one of the few that can accompany itself, I believe every serious guitarist should have music they can play alone. I count my father as a major influence in my development as a musician."

The music on 'Alone' comes from a variety of sources. Says Carl, "Most of the material on this album is covers of songs I like. Three John Lennon tunes form a little suite in the middle of the set. I recorded some jazz standards, a Peter Gabriel song, a few originals, a movie theme and a Pat Metheny tune. My goal is simple: I only cover a song by another composer if I feel I have something new to say about it. A good musician makes music sound different and the object is to make the standards your own. The recording process was easy! As a few songs come together I'd book some studio time and knock out three or four at one sitting. One phone call, zero cartage trucks full of my amps, just a single guitar case!"

Carl Verheyen has won numerous polls and musical honors in the US, Germany, France, Italy and the UK. A member of the smash hit British rock group Supertramp since 1985, Carl has played to millions of enthusiastic fans in sold out arenas worldwide. As the creative force behind The Carl Verheyen Band, he has released an impressive and eclectic discography that showcases his endless talents across a wide array of musical genres. His musical influences are just as diverse and range from George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Mike Bloomfield, Alvin Lee, Leslie West to Miles Davis, John Mclaughlin, Steve Morse, Chet Atkins and Andy Summers, among others.

He will also be heavily featured in the forthcoming film documentary about the electric guitar, 'Turn It UP!'

On the educational front, Carl has produced two instructional videos called 'Intervallic Rock Guitar' and 'Forward Motion' as well as three master classes for Truefire. He also has a book/CD detailing his unique "intervallic" style called 'Improvising Without Scales'. Another book entitled 'Studio City' is a compilation of all the columns Carl wrote for Guitar Magazine between 1996 and 1999. He has written a monthly column for Chitarre, Italy's #1 guitar publication as well as Guitar and Bass in both Germany and France and Guitar Techniques in the UK. He currently writes a monthly column for Guitar Player, contributes to other guitar publications, and blogs regularly for GuitarPlayer.com and his own site. Carl also lectures and teaches at clinics and master classes regularly when not on the road.

Carl recently co-designed a signature guitar with LsL Instruments, the "CV Special," combining the best elements Carl seeks in his ideal guitar; they are now available for purchase worldwide. Therion playing at Eurorock 2015

We are pleased to announce that the Swedish symphonic metal band Therion founded by Christofer Johnsson in 1987 will be playing at the upcoming edition of EUROROCK, (more precisely day 3, on May 16th) ! Originally a death metal band, Therion adjusted its musical style by adding orchestral elements, including choirs, classical musicians, and even a full orchestra at their concert performances. As a result, it has popularized the symphonic metal genre. The band will be joined by Isa García Navas on vocals!
