WAMI (White Appice Mendoza Iggy) – vinyl edition of their debut album

Great news for the fans of the new exciting project WAMI. The band's debut album entitled "Kill The King" has been released on vinyl!
 
 
The names associated with the project are true legends on the hard rock scene: on the vocals - Doogie White (Rainbow, Michael Schenker, Yngwie Malmsteen), on the drums - Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath, Heaven & Hell, DIO), on the bass - Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake), who join forces with the 16-year-old Polish guitarist Iggy Gwadera, who made his debut 3 years ago as the guitarist of Anti Tank Nun.
 
The idea to record an album together was born after Thin Lizzy's concert in Poland. The bassist Marco Mendoza, delighted with the young guitarist Iggy, who supported Thin Lizzy with his band Anti Tank Nun, suggested that they record some music together. This first idea, which was maturing for the next dozen-odd months, eventually evolved into the project involving legendary musicians, who are currently recording a brand new album together with Iggy. The drummer Vinny Appice, renowned for playing in some of the best heavy metal bands of worldwide fame, as also the bassist Marco Mendoza have already finished recording bass and drum tracks in Los Angeles. In late November 2013, Doogie White confronted his vocal talent with Iggy's guitar technique during their recording sessions in Poland. The results of these sessions are truly outstanding!

J. D. Overdrive – lyric video to the track from their new album

As previously announced, J. D. Overdrive, a southern metal band from Poland, return this Spring with their brand new studio album. The release of "The Kindest Of Deaths" is planned for April, 13th in Europe and May, 5th in North America (via MVD). Lyric video to the track "Wreckage, Part II" is available in THIS location.
 
Stempel, the band's guitarist comments: "For the last two years I have been indoctrinated by our vocalist to listen to such great bands as High on Fire, Clutch or Kongh. Then there are a few discoveries I've made on my own, like Planet of Zeus or Red Fang. I think people will hear those inspirations on the new album. But in the same time we're making the same music we did before and having a blast while doing it, so we haven't really lost our old identity. Although I do hope we'll manage to surprise a few people with the album's sound which in our opinion is just amazing. The songs sound very live and organic... whatever that means (laughs)."
 
Suseł, vocals, adds: "Everything in our band is dictated by chance and the title of the new album is no different. To make things funnier, while personally I hate it when bands call their albums the same way as one of their songs, it was me who made this suggestion. 'The Kindest of Deaths' is a track that really stands out from the rest and is absolutely overwhelming. When the concept for the cover artwork emerged (which was a perfect match for the title) we knew we made the right choice. The cover itself, designed by Maciej Kamuda, is amazing - totally not our style but yet perfectly reflecting the album's dynamics. In our opinion the new record will be a great continuation of what we did before. It's still JDO but we managed to squeeze in a couple of fresh ideas as well which will hopefully result in an engaging listen. And the sound that Stempel mentioned - man, we never sounded better, period (massive thanks go out to Haldor and Satanic Audio). But don't take our word for it - soon the music will speak for itself..."
 
The album was recorded, mixed and mastered in Satanic Audio Studio with Haldor Grunberg as a producer.

The band was formed in 2007 when guitarist Michal "Stempel" Stemplowski (along with drummer Luksus and bassist Kuba) recruited vocalist Wojciech "Susel" Kaluza for his new rock project dubbed Jack Daniels Overdrive. They self-released their debut EP called "Pure Concentrated Evil", which received a bunch of great reviews in various webzines and magazines. They played their very first show supporting Jesus Chrysler Suicide (a legendary Polish act) and the following two opening for Beatallica. In the meantime the band experienced two line-up changes, welcoming in their ranks drummer Lukasz "Jooras" Jurewicz and bassist Lukasz "Peo" Pomietło. In March 2009 they were given the honor of performing in Krakow with the living legend of stoner metal – Phil Anselmo's Down. In the following months came the inevitable – they changed their name to J. D. Overdrive to avoid legal problems with the Tennessee tycoon. And just when they thought that nothing can surprise them – on March 9th, 2011 they opened for Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society in Warsaw. After over three years of gathering experience at numerous live shows and sharpening their material, J.D. Overdrive were proud to release their debut album. The album entitled "Sex, Whiskey & Southern Blood" was released by Metal Mind Productions in June 2011. This year and the following brought more live performances and the band supported such acts as Blood Ceremony, Whitesnake and Soulfly. In May 2013 they released their sophomore album entitled "Fortune Favors The Brave"! The mixing and mastering duties for the album was held by Piotr Gruenpeter who's best known for his work with the post-black phenomenon THAW, as well as from bands Searching For Calm and Sun For Miles. "The Kindest Of Deaths", the band's third studio effort, is scheduled for releae on April, 13th in Europe and May, 5th in North America (via MVD).

California proggers ENCHANT heading east for five live dates!



In 2014, California's long-running melodic prog rock masters Enchant returned after a decade with their eighth album, The Great Divide, released via InsideOut. Now, the spring of 2015 sees the band heading eastward for five live dates, including a headlining appearance at the 12th annual Rites of Spring Festival (ROSfest) in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. 

Enchant Guitarist Doug Ott says,
"We are very excited to be playing some shows back East again! It's been 6 years since we've been to Georgia and almost 13 years since we've played in New Jersey. We are looking forward to reconnecting with our fans in that part of the country, and super excited about going out with our friends Odin's Court. It's going to be a blast!"

(Los Angeles, CA – March 24, 2015) Legendary guitarists JOE SATRIANI and STEVE VAI announce plans for a third benefit concert in support of music industry veteran and good friend, Cliff Cultreri.

"A Benefit for Cliff III" will take place on Friday, June 12th at 8pm at Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles.  This event will feature performances by Satrianiand Vai, as well as special guests, Animals As Leaders.

In addition to this extraordinary musical event, Satriani and Vai, along with other artists, have graciously donated various items to be auctioned at the event.  Among these items are autographed guitars as well as a chance to join Satriani's "G4 Camp" taking place June 28 – July 2  in Cambria, CAand a package to attend Vai's camp, "Vai Academy 2015 - All About The Guitar" in Vail, CO, August 2-6 as well.

Cliff Cultreri is the A&R executive who 'discovered' Satriani and Vai, as well as many other popular recording artists, while working at Relativity Records and Koch Entertainment. Cultreri is suffering from a host of Auto-Immune and Connective-Tissue disorders that are simultaneously attacking his immune system, a 1 in 100 million occurrence that causes severe pain and physical debilitations.  During his years in the industry, Cultreri has served as A&R for a number of top names including Allan Holdsworth, Billy Sheehan & Talas, Peter Frampton, Megadeth, Corrosion Of Conformity, Exodus, Anthrax, Death, Venom, Slash's Snakepit, My Bloody Valentine, The Cure, Modern English, Gene Loves Jezebel, Fat Joe, Common, Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony, 3-6 Mafia, KRS1, Beatnuts, C Murder, Kurupt, Soulja Slim, RZA, and many others in all genres of music. 

In 2006, Satriani and Vai joined forces for the first Cultreri benefit show and in 2011, came together again for the second.  Through both benefits, the duo have raised money and brought attention to the devastation this disease takes on both the patient and their family. 

Satriani and Vai hope to raise even more funds with this year's benefit to help Cultreri and his family's financial needs. "I'm looking forward to sharing the stage with my good friends Steve Vai and Animals as Leaders for a night of unforgettable music," said Satriani.  With Vai adding, "It's a great privilege to take to the stage with my friends Joe and Tosin (of Animals As Leaders) in support of our dear buddy Cliff.  It's a great cause and will be a magical evening of guitar extravaganza."

Italian Rock Ensemble The Mugshots Release New Single “Frozen” Featuring Clive Jones From Legendary Black Widow!

Brescia, Italy - Gcm Music & Alka Records proudly present "Frozen", the new single by The Mugshots; the first European band ever produced by legendary Dick Wagner. The song is a very personal cover of a famous Madonna's masterpiece and features (unfortunately his last work) Clive Jones on sax and flute, from the legendary English band Black Widow - the first group to introduce occult themes in Rock music. Mastering has been accomplished par excellence by Dr. Gil Markle, long time collaborator of Dick Wagner, who has also worked with Aerosmith, Stevie Wonder and The Rolling Stones, just to name a few.

Says lead vocalist Mickey E. Vil ,"Working on 'Frozen' has been a unique human and artistic experience. Clive Jones knew this would have been his final work and, as his life faded away, he channeled all of his vital energy into his flute and saxophone to add the song an ethereal dimension."

The Mugshots are an Italian rock group who's influences are primarily Alice Cooper, along with The Stranglers and The Misfits. The quintet from Brescia have already released two albums and several EPs. Though based in Italy, The Mugshots were born in New York City in 2001 when lead singer, Mickey E. Vil, visiting the United States, chose the band's name after listening to an Alice Cooper record ("DaDa", 1983). As their name would suggest, dark crime stories have infused the band's lyrics from the very beginning. As the Mugshots' line-up was developing over the next few years, the band released two full-length albums, "House Of The Weirdos" and "Weird Theater" plus an EP, titled "Doctor Is Out". Then in 2009, the band's present line up was consolidated. In 2010, The Mugshots released a limited edition EP titled "In Disguise" through an independent Italian record label. This EP was made available on both red vinyl and CD and garnered enthusiastic reviews around the world.

In 2012, The Mugshots teamed up with the legendary Dick Wagner, producer and guitarist for such great rock icons as Alice Cooper, Lou Reed, Kiss, Aerosmith, Peter Gabriel, Ray Manzarek and Mark Farner among others. This collaboration resulted in another EP titled "Love, Lust and Revenge" on which Wagner arranged, co-wrote and played lead guitars. Dick Wagner sadly passed away in July 2014, making this EP one of his last productions.

UK Prog Icons Karnataka To Release New CD 'Secrets Of Angels' Featuring Epic 21-Minute Opus!


London, UK - 'Secrets of Angels' is the eagerly anticipated new album from UK rock ensemble Karnataka. Featuring eight brand new tracks and showcasing a more dynamic and symphonic direction, the new album propels the band to powerful and majestic new highs. Recorded at Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios and Quadra Studios in London the new album explores themes from despair, anguish and the futility of war to love across cultural divides and culminates in the 21-minute opus and epic title track, "Secrets of Angels". The music was written over a period of two years following on from the band's last tours in 2012. The new tracks showcase a more dynamic and symphonic direction.
 
The album embraces several interlinked themes - temptation, lust, secrets, darkness, division and betrayal but with a constant underlying message of searching for an inner strength, to battle through when hope is lost or emotions are at their weakest, 'to step free from shadows cast'…. a sense of defiance that always wins through. Says bassist Ian Jones, "There are threads running through the album. The title track 'Secrets of Angels' has a theme of war through the ages – the futility of war – told through the eyes of two people. The despair and anguish experienced. 'Secrets of Angels' refers to the secrets a person takes to the grave… 'Road To Cairo' is a love letter to Egypt as a country but it also has a personal theme about love across religious and cultural divides. 'Forbidden Dreams' is about temptation and passion. 'Poison Ivy' is about betrayal, anger, danger...
 
The album features guest appearances from Nightwish's Troy Donockley on uilleann pipes and whistles, one of Ireland's top young harpists Seána Davey and a string section from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
 
Karnataka rose to the forefront of the female-fronted symphonic progressive rock scene with the release of their landmark album 'Delicate Flame of Desire'. Their follow up and critically acclaimed album 'The Gathering Light' won best International Album at the World Prog awards.
 
The band features an international line up of world class musicians. The beautiful voice of enigmatic lead singer Hayley Griffiths (Riverdance, Lord Of The Dance), the virtuoso fretwork of Italian guitarist Enrico Pinna, the melodic driving bass of Ian Jones, the innovative and symphonic orchestrations of Turkish keyboard player Cagri Tozluoglu all powerfully driven forward by the dynamic drumming of French sticks man Jimmy Pallagrosi. Together they create a beautiful tapestry of sound that transcends musical boundaries and showcases the band's sublime songwriting and musicianship all of which have won plaudits from Radio 2's Bob Harris, Rick Wakeman and many others.

The dream of Renaissance performing again in my homeland has come true with a European tour, the first in over 30 years. Michael Dunford (who is sorely missed) and I have worked hard to that end since our reformation in 2009.

The most exciting part of all for me is to chronicle this in a film and release as a DVD to highlight our talented band of musicians that is now Renaissance. They will knock your socks off.

As always the expense of producing a product of high quality is greater than the amount we receive from concert performances. In order to make the the quality of this DVD comparable to the level of music and atmosphere of the Union Chapel, we have launched a site at Indiegogo.com to raise additional funds.

Nosound are set to release a live CD/DVD entitled Teide 2390 through Kscope on 13th April 2015. Teide 2390 was recorded at the Starmus Astronomy Festival at the Teide Observatory in Tenerife.

In summer of 2014 Nosound were invited to perform at an extraordinary festival – the Starmus Festival to be held at the Teide Observatory on the island of Tenerife. This unique international astronomy festival was to bring together an array of musical talent from European opera legend Katerina Mina and the legendary Rick Wakeman and leading figures in contemporary science with talks from the likes of Brian May, Nobel Prize winners & cosmonauts with the Keynote speech given by Professor Stephen Hawking.

It was here that Nosound recorded their forthcoming CD/DVD release 'Teide 2390'. Performed and recorded at Starmus infront of an invited audience at an altitude of 2390m the band played songs from their 2005 debut 'Sol29', 2008's 'Lightdark', 2009's 'A Sense Of Loss' as well as their most recent album 'Afterthoughts', which has brought them success and acclaim from media and fans alike worldwide with Prog Magazine describing it as "extraordinary".

Country Rock Superstars Little Texas Pay Tribute To A Fallen Soldier With “Slow Ride Home” From The Band’s New Studio Album!


Nashville, TN - Dwayne O'Brien, guitarist/vocalist and founding member of Little Texas, tells the story behind "Slow Ride Home," a song from the band's long-awaited new studio album. "We were on a bus heading toward a show in Rooks County, Kansas, just north of Hays. While still a long way out of town, we started to notice a lot of American flags lining the highway, and at every little crossroads and at the corners of the fields there were people on foot, on motorcycles, and standing in the beds of their pickups all waving their own small flags. This went on for miles and miles. It wasn't the 4th of July, Veteran's Day or Flag Day, so we wondered what was up. Later, we found out we had been riding just ahead of the funeral procession for a local soldier who had made the ultimate sacrifice. Army Chief Warrant Officer 2 Bryan J. Nichols, a native of the area, was killed on August 6, 2011, when the Chinook helicopter that he was flying was shot down while carrying members of the Extortion 17 special operations unit in Afghanistan (the same Seal Team Six that later brought down Bin Laden). Seeing the way that town welcomed their fallen hero home really moved us to write the song."

Like the recent hit film "American Sniper," "Slow Ride Home" is a powerful and moving piece of storytelling that speaks not only to the profound sorrow caused by the death of a soldier but also to the cathartic healing made possible by the love and support of ordinary folks from ordinary towns all across America. That theme of small town life, from the highs of falling in love and partying on weekends to the lows of paying last respects to a local hero, runs right through the heart of Young For A Long Time, the extraordinary new album set to be released on April 14 by Cleopatra Records. Duane Propes, the group's bass player, declares it "the best album we have ever made" and he may be on to something. Undoubtedly the band has never sounded more confident, as the chorus of the titular lead off track proudly declares "Don't you know by now we've got this down / That Friday night fire still hasn't gone out / We got a rock solid life and a rock n' roll state of mind / We were born to run / So sit down, son / We'll show you just how it's done / 'Cause we've been young for a long time." The musicianship has only improved with age as well with Porter Howell truly coming into his own as the band's lead vocalist in addition to his dazzling lead guitar work, and backed by the always solid playing of drummer Del Gray. "Young For A Long Time pretty much runs the gamut of everything we've ever done, plus takes us down some new roads as well," Propes continues, "the vocals are there, the guitar work is there, the party songs are there, the 'make you cry' love songs, the songs about Texas. We even dive off into swamp rock and torch music, so each songs has a totally different fuel behind it."

As part of the Young Country movement of the early '90s, Little Texas were responsible for shaking up the country music world with a new, energetic sound that fused the look and attitude of modern rock music with traditional country themes and styles, bringing a much appreciated bolt of life into the genre. For their efforts, country fans the world over richly rewarded the band, buying up over 7 million of their albums, while critics showered them with 3 Grammy nominations plus honors from both the Academy of Country Music (Vocal Group Of The Year) and the Country Music Association (Album Of The Year)! "God Blessed Texas," the 1993 blockbuster single, has become that state's unofficial anthem, while the powerful ballad and mainstream chart success "What Might Have Been" proved the crossover appeal of country music, paving the way for future acts such as Rascal Flatts, Zac Brown Band, and others.
