BLACKMORE’S NIGHT GETS BRAVE ON “WILL O’ THE WISP,” VIDEO, LATEST SINGLE FROM ALL OUR YESTERDAYS

Among the things informing the songs of Blackmore's Night are sagas and symbolism. In the case of the supernatural "Will O' The Wisp," the rock-based song continues the band's vision involving what singer and lyricist Candice Night describes as "nature and folklore from around the world." "Will O' The Wisp" is from the group's tenth album All Our Yesterdays now, offering us a mystical experience.

Spotlighted in the video and the lyrics are lights (the will o' the wisps), an ancient rock, castle ruins, a forest, as well as the crescent moon.  There is also a path.  Candice saw that path as part of the "Will O' The Wisp"'s folklore as she watched the Disney/Pixar film Brave with her two children.  She was entranced by an early scene in which the heroine, Princess Merida is led through the woods to a cottage by a will o' the wisp, a light that floats over swamps and moors. "The visual was amazing," she says.  Beyond that, the soundtrack of Ritchie's music spoke to her to blend his music and her lyrics into this enchanting song.

The video enhances the lyrics' ancient feel.  In stark black and white, the only color element is the title character, a small, light blue will o' the wisp that leads Night through ruins and moors and wide open spaces that the Celts would have approved of.  The wisps were symbolic and mysterious lights that led her through ancient stone circles to a destination that would ultimately change her fate.

With concepts for this epic video running back and forth for weeks, Blackmore's Night admits they took "forever" to finish it, and at the end of the entire production, Candice, Ritchie and the band, pretty much, used symbolism of the path of a the light meeting a second light—two Will O' The Wisps.

Candice is adamant about one thing, though. "The concept," she insists, "is in the lyrics."

Fans can also watch Blackmore's Night's first music video (and single), the title song from the upcoming ALL OUR YESTERDAYS' album, at www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8gCGcSlRuw.

Blackmore's Night is a true musical and spiritual collaboration between vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Candice Night and her husband, legendary guitarist Ritchie Blackmore. The two met in 1989 when Deep Purple challenged Candice's then radio station to a charity soccer match. In 1993 she sang on Rainbow's DIFFICULT TO CURE tour. They co-wrote four songs for Rainbow's STRANGER IN US ALL and in 1997 they formed Blackmore's Night; they continue to play festivals and concerts in great, historic venues all over the world.

Mike Oldfield's “The Space Movie” Original Soundtrack To Be Released On CD For The First Time!

London, UK - GONZO Multimedia will be releasing a newly restored and (finally) complete edition of Mike Oldfield and Tony Palmer's "The Space Movie." For the very first time the original soundtrack featuring all the talk-back between the astronauts and ground control, as well as orchestral versions of music by Mike Oldfield will be released on CD!

This classic film was originally commissioned by London Weekend Television and Virgin Films in 1979 to mark the 10th Anniversary of the first landing on the moon, July 21st 1969. A recent discovery of a print in mint condition has enabled us to issue the film in a sparkling new (and complete!) edition.

Producer Tony Palmer explains, "The invitation to make the film came out of the clear blue sky from NASA in January 1978. I was invited to Washington and shown the mountain of film NASA had collected from the very beginnings with John Glenn, the first astronaut to orbit the earth in February 1962, until Apollo 17 December 1972. Use whatever I wanted, I was told, plus all the talk-back between ground control in Houston and the various space missions. NASA's extraordinary and spectacular images made me realize I had access to a treasure house beyond imagination.

"From the beginning, I wanted Mike Oldfield to write the music, and the soundtrack which emerged – a combination of hitherto unreleased recordings including the orchestral versions of Oldfield's early masterpieces, 'Tubular Bells' and 'Hergest Ridge' - is remarkable, perfect in every way; evocative, powerful, an inspiring match for the images. And I'm sure it is that, plus of course the astonishing NASA footage and the sound of the astronauts chatting away in space. Virgin Films may have long gone, but together these elements made and make the film what it is - something rather special."

At a Gala Screening in the Egyptian Cinema in Hollywood in 2008, the film was introduced by Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk upon the moon. He said: "It gives me enormous pleasure, and a thrill, to be able to introduce Tony Palmer's remarkable film about our space adventures. I say remarkable because at the time it was made, 1978/9, very little of the footage you are about to see had ever been seen in public, images which are now so familiar as to be truly iconic. But it was Tony who used them first, and we are very pleased that he did, even if he did construct the longest take-off in history! I still get a chill hearing some of the talk-back which, like the footage, NASA had provided for Tony to use. When the rocket takes off, boy is that a roller-coaster ride, bumpy as hell. So when you hear my voice saying 'little bit of shaking there', you'll know what I mean! So thank you Tony for what you did."

The distinguished film critic Alexander Walker said after the first screenings: "The best British film screened at Cannes (in 1980) was Mike Oldfield and Tony Palmer's 'The Space Movie', with unique footage from NASA and music by Mike Oldfield. Palmer's film combines both in a wonderful, at times profoundly moving, tribute to the astronauts from Cape Kennedy. The film includes one of the finest space launches ever collated, with footage that is unbelievably spectacular. Full marks to director Tony Palmer. The result is breathtaking, beautiful and brilliant."

This version comes complete with Director's Cut BONUS DVD of the movie.

For more information:

Release Date: 16th October 2015

An exclusive screening of the 80-minute restored version of "The Space Movie" will be held at Cinema 2 at The Barbican in London on Sunday 15th November at 6 pm. http://www.barbican.org.uk/film/new-cinemas

Bruce Stringer Releases Music Video for “Carnation”

The Song Is on His New Album Ωne

September 15th, 2015, Adelaide, Australia – A music video for Bruce
Stringer's song "Carnation" has been released on Youtube at
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5aG0fbD7TA. The song is included on
his new album Ωne. Stringer is a guitarist, composer, arranger and
producer. He has worked as a session musician and with Elaine Wang
Yi-Ling in the Chinese-western duo Space of Snow. He has also
recorded themes and soundtrack pieces for a number of independent
films.

His unique musical styling evolved from experimentation with analogue
electronics and guitar synthesizers, dating back to his school days.
With so many ground breaking artists in the field of analogue
electronics – from Tim Blake to Vangelis and Jean Michel Jarre,
pioneering movie director John Carpenter to British godmother of
electronic experimentalism, Delia Derbyshire – the realisation was
that a completely different approach would be needed for any new
project to survive.

The album is garnering some great reviews. At Music Emissions
(musicemissions.com) while giving the album a five out of five rating,
Jason Hillenburg said, "This is artistic vision not content with
accepting traditional limitations of form. Instead, this is an artist
searching through each of the album's ten tracks for an indelible
balance between disparate genres. Stringer's efforts to synthesize his
own musical language from a melting pot of influences are remarkably
successful, free from pretension, and he thankfully retains a
clear-eyed sense of its obligation to entertain, as well as
challenger, the listener."

At Wormwood Chronicles (wormwoodchronicles.com) Dr. Abner Mality said,
"If you wondered what Alan Parsons Project might sound like with
bluesier, rockier guitar, Bruce Stringer is the answer." Robert
Silverstein at MWE3 (mwe3.com) said that the album, "is filled with a
range of guitar instrumental tracks that are boldly dynamic and highly
explosive."

Meanwhile at Music Street Journal, Greg Olma had this to say about the
disc: "Instrumental albums have always been a difficult genre for me
to get into. Since I don't play any instrument, I tend to gravitate
towards the lyrics and vocals. That being said, I do find the
occasional disc that captures my attention and winds up in my CD
player for a while. One is just such a record. Bruce Stringer
manages to not only play all the instruments but he also manages to
write these tunes so that non-musos like me can enjoy it. Often
guitarists come up with a CD worth of guitar solos, and it just
becomes a "look how good I am" affair but Stringer opts out of doing
the show-off thing and shows us his good song writing skills. The
disc contains tunes that stand on their own, yet it still feels like a
collection of works when you listen to the whole thing in one sitting
(which I recommend)."

His new album reflects many changes in mood and illustrates the
complex and sometimes unnerving nature of the marriage between the
Peter Green/Snowy White school of British blues and the outlandish,
unnatural sounds of electronic experimentation. From the
classically-inspired opening of Hieronymus Bosch to the commercial
synth-pop of OMNI, the industrial pulses of Carnation to the
complexity ofMathematics, from randomness and dark humour in the
sample-laden Talk Talk to the unsettling repetition of Dreaming of
Machines, and on through darker landscapes in the World of Tomorrow…
Ωneis an album attempting to define modern retro-futurism.

Guitar Legend Steve Hillage To Issue Unreleased Concert Recording “Live In Madison Square Garden 1977”

London, UK - Steve Hillage is one of the most idiosyncratic and instantly recognisable guitarists in the world. Associated with the Canterbury scene, he has worked in experimental domains since the late 1960s. Besides his critically acclaimed solo recordings, along with prog legends Gong, Steve has been a member of the ensembles Khan and System 7. And now, much to the excitement of Steve Hillage fans worldwide, Cleopatra Records will be releasing a vintage concert recording from 1977 of his band in concert at Madison Square Garden in NYC!

Says Steve, "This was a great performance from another fine period of my band in the late '70s. This was my first tour of the US – Gong never played there while I was in the band in the seventies. It wasn't my first visit to the US though – my first visit was in 1976 when I went to record 'L' at Todd Rundgren's studio, near Woodstock, New York. Madison Square Garden in New York is an iconic major venue, so it was a fantastic honor to play there! We were playing to audiences who mostly didn't know our music too well, so we just let rip and went for it. The band was really firing!!!"

"Live In Madison Square Garden 1977" is culled from a crystal clear soundboard recording that captures Hillage at the height of his powers with performances from his second solo album "L", including a psychedelic cover of Donovan's "Hurdy Gurdy Man" plus the epic length "Hurdy Gurdy Glissando," "Lunar Musick Suite" and more! Also included are superb bonus studio tracks that feature exclusive versions of Hillage's recent recording collaborations with keyboard legend Rick Wakeman and world renowned actor William Shatner!

"Todd Rundgren came to the Madison Square Garden show," Hillage remembers, "and I'm pretty sure he joined our sound engineer at the mixing desk and added some extra Harmonizer drum effects to 'It's All Too Much'. It certainly sounds like that on the recording! I was waiting for a good moment to release this US gig recording in the US on an American label. Cleopatra, with whom I've had a long relationship, asked me if I had any good available archive material and it immediately struck me that this moment had arrived!"

Steve Hillage first came to prominence as a member of the multi-national rock band Gong. Steve appeared on successful albums such as 'Angels Egg', 'You' and his final album with the band 'Shamal'. Steve recorded his first solo album in 1975 entitled 'Fish Rising'. This album was recorded whilst still a member of Gong. Shortly after however, Steve and his partner Miquette Giraudy left Gong embarking on a career that continues to this day under the name System 7.

In 1976 Steve recorded the album 'L', which was produced by Todd Rundgren. The album was a huge success and Steve subsequently formed the first Steve Hillage Band, which included former Jethro Tull drummer Clive Bunker and future Camel bassist Colin Bass. The band made its live debut at the Hyde Park concert staged by Queen in September 1976. From 1976 to 1979, Steve Hillage released several critically acclaimed albums and toured the world.

Steve Hillage's "Live In Madison Square Garden 1977" is available on CD in a mini-LP sleeve and a special limited edition opaque orange vinyl pressing with full color insert and sleeve!

As Paweł, lead singer of the band, says "The album is full of questions, sadness, anxiety and nostalgia. There is also strength, rebellion, joy, love and pride. There are some utopian-romantic visions of the world. This is the album about unique individuals, sensitive and full of passion but often apathetic, amoral, introverted and withdrawn." Musically, "The Sun Also Rises for unicorns" is a continuation of what the band recorded so far. "We hope, this album is a step forward, a natural development for the band" says Wojtek, Cochise's guitarist.

Tank – „Make a Little Time” lyric video now on Youtube

Metal Mind Production will release "Valley Of Tears", the new album by the British heavy metal legend TANK, on September, 25th. An official lyric video to „Make a Little Time", the second track promoting the album is available at THIS location.

Cliff Evan, Tank's guitarist comments: "With a classic 'rock n roll' vibe and a chorus that will stick in your memory for ever, 'Make a Little Time' shows that Tank and it's new line up can successfully deliver everything from full on metal to laid back rock anthems that will no doubt establish Tank as one of Britain's best rock bands."

British heavy metal legend TANK return this Autumn with their tenth studio album! "Valley Of Tears" is their first album release featuring the amazing vocal talents of former Dragonforce frontman ZP Theart and marks a new era for the band. The vocalist injected new energy and inspiration into the band since joining them in 2013 and now it's time to capture this sound on the new record! To complement ZP's vocals TANK now have one of the best rhythm sections in metal: Bobby Schottkowski, formerly drumming with Sodom and current Blind Guardian member - Barend Courbois on bass. Together with Mick Tucker and Cliff Evans on guitars they ready to take another big step forward in the evolution of TANK and make another metal album of great quality that will surely stand the test of time.

The band's last two releases 'War Machine' and 'War Nation' (both released on Metal Mind Productions) were two of their bestselling albums and featured amazing performances from former Rainbow/Malmsteen and current Schenker vocalist - Doogie White. "Valley of Tears" is heading in a much heavier direction and as always will be driven to the max by their trademark Gibson Les Paul/Marshall stack wall of sound. The album was produced by Phil Kinman.

"Valley Of Tears" is scheduled for worldwide release on September, 25th.

Music Legend Michael Stanley To Release New Studio Album “And Then...”

Cleveland, OH - Line Level Music is proud to announce the release of "And Then…", the new album from critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Michael Stanley.

Produced by Michael Stanley and mixed by legendary producer/engineer Bill Szymczyk (Eagles, B.B.King, Joe Walsh, The James Gang, The Who and Santana), "And Then…" contains twelve new Stanley compositions and a cover of Storyville"s "Good day For The Blues".

Backed by members of his road band The Resonators, "And Then…" is another outstanding example of Stanley's eclectic musical leanings. "I guess it springs from growing up in the same time frame as rock n' roll and being knocked out by all the different styles that led to that musical melting pot," said Stanley. "Because of that I rarely sit down to write a certain 'type' of song…whatever happens happens…and although that can be a marketing man's nightmare, it keeps me interested and, hopefully, growing as a writer."

From the mid-70's to the mid-80's, The Michael Stanley Band rocked arenas all over the midwest, setting still-unmatched concert attendance records at northeastern Ohio's Blossom Music Center and The Coliseum in Cleveland.

With album sales reaching the hundreds of thousands, the band enjoyed a strong and undeniably loyal following in other areas of the country as well, and toured with some greats, including Bruce Springsteen, The Eagles, Foreigner and The Doobie Brothers...

In his early days of recording his talent attracted the likes of producer Bill Szymczyk and guest musicians Joe Walsh, Todd Rundgren, and David Sanborn from the beginning. He formed the Michael Stanley Band (aka MSB) in 1975 and pursued a more straightforward rock direction.

To this day, Michael's first two albums are mainstays of any fan of 70's country rock. Songs like "Rosewood Bitters," "Moving Right Along," "Yours for a Song" and the ultimate Michael Stanley tune, "Let's Get The Show on The Road" have survived well. Most favorably compared to Dan Fogelberg's early albums, Michael was and still is extremely capable of writing songs that raise the little hairs on the back of your neck. Just from his uncanny ability to write perfect songs ever since he began would be enough reason to listen to his music but Michael has been able to do what few other artists have in that he hasn't changed his magic method. His new songs are just as vibrant as his classics. The sign of a true artist.

UK Blues Guitarist Tom Killner To Release Eagerly Anticipated Debut Album “Hard Road”

Los Angeles - One of the hottest young blues guitarists to emerge from the UK, Tom Killner, will be releasing his debut album "Hard Road" on September 4, 2015 on Cleopatra Blues in the US. Born in Rotherham UK, Killner was deemed a child prodigy of six-string blues by age 9, formed his first band a year later, and now at 19 his debut release contains a smoking hot collection of covers and originals! The album is currently at number 6 in the Amazon UK blues Hot releases charts!

Says Tom, , "It's been a long wait for my fans for me to release an album. Over the last two years they have asked when I would be bringing my album out, so when the offer came along from Cleopatra Records to make this album I felt greatly honored and pleased to be one of their artists, alongside the massive names on their label.

"This album is my first and it's really about the struggle, knockbacks and pain, and how you get back up and fight some more for what it takes to finally get there. That's why I decided to go with 'Hard Road' as the title track. Along with the other tracks there's love songs, soul and good old rock in there about my journey so far. There is something for everyone.

"I really enjoyed working on this album. There's material here that I would not usually play. It really pushed me out of my comfort zone to recreate the covers and make them mine as well as bringing my songs to life and getting them down after playing them for a few years on the road."

When you get right down to it... to the heart of what the blues are all about... Eric Clapton hit the nail on the head. "It was one man and his guitar versus the world," he said. "It was one guy who was completely alone and had no options, no alternatives other than just to sing and play to ease his pains." It doesn't matter how the music has changed and charged its way around the world in the years since the first bluesmen arose a century back in the American south. It doesn't matter how volume and fusion and international superstardom have shaped and shifted things around. The blues that Clapton plays today mean the same thing that Howlin' Wolf was playing in the fifties, and Son House was playing in the thirties, and they're the same as Tom Killner is playing today.

The sound may change, and the delivery, too. But the blues will always be the blues. Tom Killner understood that before he even discovered that the music had a name.

Says Tom, "I was originally drawn to the blues because nothing else really grabbed me. My friends all listened to metal and pop, but I've never been one for following trends in music. The blues I love because of the raw power, and because of what it could make me feel. No other music did that for me."

The Tom Killner Band was formed in February 2012, a tight trio in the classic blues format of guitar (Tom), bass (Oliver Tallent) and drums (Jake Ashton). It was a line-up that worked for Cream, that worked for Taste, and worked for the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Now it's working for the Tom Killner Band, as they set up the no-holds-barred barrage that hit that year's Great British Blues Festival like a levee giving way, and has swamped every other stage the band has played on... from the vastness of blues festivals in Wakefield and Hebden Bridge (two years running, voted the UK's best blues event), to theaters and clubs around the country.

"I try to add as much energy to the live show as I can each night," explains Tom. "No two shows are the same, and no song is played the same. Every night, I try and mix as many influences in as possible - Blues, Soul, Southern Rock, Funk... and it seems to be keeping everyone happy!"

Their fame continued to spread. The Tom Killner Band opened for Danny Bryant, and were rewarded with the headliner's own admiration - "an excellent, incredible guitarist."

Endorsements from Fret-King and Vintage Guitar sent the band's stock soaring even higher; while their first EP, "Complicated", became a BBC radio favorite. And finally, inevitably, the Tom Killner Band's acclaim reached across the ocean, to the Los Angeles headquarters of Cleopatra Records.
Now, much to the excitement of blues music aficionados worldwide, the Tom Killner Band are releasing their debut album, knowing that it is already one of the most eagerly anticipated blues releases of the year.

"Jim Morrison once said 'show me the way to the next whiskey bar', I'd like to think what he might of heard in there would of resembled 'Hard Road' by Tom Killner. The album is a superb retro sounding blues rock album with a little bit of southern influence, interspersed with some passionate playing from Tom and packed with a whole lot of soul." - Adam Kennedy, National Rock Review

"This CD is a must for all avid Blues and Blues./Rock fans-trust me on this." - Phill Penny Blues Show Radio Trent

War Drum (This Ain't America) - Magellan's Plea for Reason

Magellan will release "War Drum (This Ain't America)" September 9th, 2015. The new digital single showcases a "plea for reason" as founder Trent Gardner calls for all major 2016 U.S. Presidential candidates to immediately withdraw from any potential bid for the White House:

"Dear ubiquitous and homogenized presidential candidates from all parties,
I don't want to experience a repeat of this predictable and ritualistic dance. It's time to go off script. For America, please stop now. All I can hear is the beating of yet another WAR DRUM. http://bit.ly/Magellan_WarDrum Keep us all safe and just go home." http://magellansongs.com/

Of course this seemingly naive suggestion is roughly the equivalent of an ant going up against Godzilla, but Trent knows he's not alone in his feelings on the subject.

We're too familiar with the pattern. The presidential election approaches and a sickeningly familiar rhetoric pulses below every interview. Sound bites of disinformation bombard us like the pounding of Zhangu war drums, then are overshadowed swiftly by military-like snares of accusations rising to a frenzy. Soon the ancient music of communication is beaten down into a primal marching cadence....

Valery Records and V-Promotion are proud to announce the release of the new album by Elegacy "The Binding Sequence".

Elegacy is a prog power metal band founded in Turin a decade ago. The efforts and the talent of the musicians involved in the project allowed the band, in the mid 2000s, to be considered one of the most outstanding and promising realities on the Italian prog power scene, as confirmed by reviews. In 2005 they released their first album, "Impressions", distributed worldwide by Northwind/Self.

Subsequently, the large amount of material written over the years by Constantin Terzago (keyboards) and Massimo La Russa (guitars) keeps the band alive and ready for a new beginning. In 2011 Elegacycomes into contact with Mark Zonder, legendary drummer of "Fates Warning" and Mike Lepond, bassist of "Symphony X" who, after listening to the demo of the new disc, decided to join the project recording the entire rhythm session of the upcoming album. To complete the production by contributing also to melodies and choir arrangements, joins the singer Ivan Giannini (Derdian).

In the summer 2014 the mastering of the second album of Elegacy, "The binding sequence", is finally ready.

Even if their music continues to be inspired by progressive sounds, the band innovates stylistically and publishes ten tracks of pure Heavy Melodic Classic Rock, full of great technique, atmosphere and fine production.

The new album "The Binding Sequence" will be published on October 9th, 2015 by Valery Records, distributed by Audioglobe and available on I tunes.

Prog Metal Band Odin's Court Launch Crowd Sourcing Campaign to Release Two Albums

Progressive Metal for fans of Pink Floyd, Dream Theater, Devin Townsend, Porcupine Tree, Iron Maiden, King's X, Metallica, HIM, and Journey, Enchant, Queen

Baltimore, MD - USA based progressive rock and metal band Odin's Court's announced a crowd sourcing campaign to release 2 albums: Deathanity (R3) and Turtles All the Way Down Vol, II. Deathanity (R3) is a "reboot" of the original ProgRock Records album released in 2008, consisting of a remix (original recording), new recording (e.g., vocals), and a re-master. Turtles All the Way Down, Vol. II continues the concept started in 2015's album by the same name.

Rewards for campaign backers include CDs, digital releases, shirts, signed drum heads, vinyl banners, coasters, picks, an invitation to a listening party, and more. Samples and more details may be found at the following link:  https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/odinscourt/odins-court-deathanity-reboot-and-turtles-ii

By launching this crowd sourcing campaign, the band wishes to continue the momentum gained from the positive press received on their latest album Turtles All the Way Down (2015):

"Odin's Court has quietly become one of the best bands in the American Progressive Rock scene, and this album is a perfect example of why that is the case." – Hard Rock Haven

"Terrific melodic prog/metal that gets better with every listen!" – USA Progressive Music

"The strengths are undoubtedly the singing, orchestration, and the work on the guitars. It is highly recommended listening!" – MusicInBelguim.Net

Band leader Matt Brookins commented on the decision to revisit Deathanity: "This was an important album to the band – we worked hard independently, and then shopped it to labels. It was picked up by ProgRock Records (2008), and to date remains our best selling and most popular release. While we were, and still are, proud of what we did, there are some factors that made us want to revisit and improve the quality of the album…mainly, the addition of Dimetrius LaFavors (lead vocals), but also my improvements as an engineer and producer. Additionally, the concept of the album is becoming increasingly important in today's world, so hopefully we will reach even more ears with this re-release. Stylistically, this album is heavy, progressive, and artsy."

Deathanity was well received when originally released:

"There's wonderful variety from section to section, the instrumentation and the songwriting are clearly the album's strengths." – Sea of Tranquility

"The sound of the group is quite personal with a lot of quality, and fantastic production for their music, very pleasant to the ear, nothing strident, with guitars and smooth refining where all instruments are in a place where you can distinguish each of them with complete ease." – Hall of Metal

"Matt Brookins has succeeded in serving a fantastic album to the inclined listener. From the first minute until the last there is insanely much to discover, and the protagonists are true masters of their instruments." – Rock Times

Turtles All the Way Down, Vol. II continues where the last album left off, exploring the concept of infinite regression and individuals' methods of finding their place and coping in such a vast universe. Brookins comments: "The creation of 2015's album was therapeutic to me. I was so enthusiastic about the concept, that I ended up writing two albums worth of music and lyrics. While we discussed putting out a double album, our financial situation and time constraints prohibited it at the time. Rather than letting these 'extra' songs go unheard, we thought it would be nice to complete them. While some songs didn't make the final cut, many did – and I wrote some new ones as well. We also have a couple of alternate versions of songs from the 2015 album. Stylistically, this album strikes me as a bit AOR with a hard edge."

Odin's Court:
Matt Brookins – Guitarist, Keyboardist, Vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist
Rick Pierpont – Guitarist and Backing Vocalist
Dimetrius LaFavors – Vocalist
Gary Raub – Drummer, Percussionist, and Backing Vocalist
Jason Pierpont – Bassist

On November 6, 2015, Frontiers Music Srl will release Billy Sherwood's latest, a concept album called CITIZEN.

Billy Sherwood created this concept album based on a lost soul that is reincarnated into various periods of history. "I was inspired by the notion that General Patton believed he was reincarnated on various battlefields through time; I wanted to take that concept even further." As the songwriter/producer, Billy placed the citizen character into significant moments of history.

The lead off track is called "The Citizen" which sets the stage for what's to come on the recording. "The Citizen" features Billy's longtime friends and members of the legendary Progressive Rock band Yes: bassist Chris Squire and former Yes keyboardist Tony Kaye.

Each song places the Citizen into a unique set of circumstances where decisions are made that have serious personal and global consequences. In the song "No Man's Land" (featuring Deep Purple/Dixie Dregs/Kansas guitarist Steve Morse) the Citizen appears as a World War I trench runner who passes the message along to the troops that it's time to attack; the Citizen remains behind and is, ultimately, the only survivor. "Empire" (with lead vocals by Alan Parsons & violin from Jerry Goodman of the Flock, Dixie Dregs, Mahavishnu Orchestra) finds the Citizen as a conscript legionnaire in the final days of the Roman Empire. "Just Galileo and Me" (sung by Colin Moulding singer/bassist of XTC) shows the Citizen as a protective friend to Galileo, trying to tell the astronomer that he should not tell people that the earth is not flat or he will be labeled as a heretic.

Known as a multi-instrumentalist, Billy performs drums, bass, guitar, keys and sings several of the songs, including "A Theory of its Own" in which the Citizen appears as companion to Charles Darwin on the evolutionist's maiden voyage. He sings of Native Americans affected by the Indian Removal Act of 1830 in the song, "Trail of Tears," which features Patrick Moraz on keyboards. Former Genesis guitar player Steve Hackett adds his chops to "Man And The Machine," which is about an assembly line worker and activist in the late 1890s. "Age Of The Atom" is about the creation of the Atomic Bomb and the questions of morality as a result of it; this features Geoff Downes on keyboards. Dream Theater keyboardist Jordan Rudess appears on "Escape Velocity," a song that speaks to the political implications of the space race in the 1960s.

In "The Great Depression," Billy's songwriter's pen draws pain from the heart of a distraught Wall Street investor, who has lost everything in the stock market, and steps out to make a final step off the ledge. Rick Wakeman plays grand piano and other keyboards on this one. Finally, in CITIZEN's 11th song, "Written In The Centuries," performed by current Yes singer Jon Davison, Nostradamus is the Citizen busily composing his many predictions.

Billy Sherwood was recently handpicked by Chris Squire to fill in for him on bass and vocals in Yes, before he left for cancer treatment and ultimately, his untimely death. Billy started his career in the band Lodgic and then as a member of World Trade, who have two critically-acclaimed albums. He has produced and engineered for many artists including John Wetton, Motorhead, Queensryche, Paul Rodgers, and Yes. He joined Yes first as touring member on the "Talk" tour in 1994, and was a full time member from 1997 to 1999. He recorded two albums with Chris Squire as the "Conspiracy" project and released six albums with Circa, the band he formed with Tony Kaye.

CITIZEN is Billy's eighth album of new material, though he sees this as a group effort, "While I've created a lot of this record myself I couldn't have done it without the amazing talents brought to bear by all the great artists who participated. So I feel it's much more of a collective effort than a solo album. It's my desire to take this production onto the stage and some of these amazing artists can help bring this concept to life."

Fischer's Flicker Releases Second Album “Fornever and Never”

Chicago, IL - From the first moment of "Black Mariah," the lead-off track to the sophomore LP from Fischer's Flicker titled "Fornever and Never", it's clear that bandleader Scott Fischer is up to something interesting. The grandiose piano, the nimble guitars, the pounding drums - it sounds a bit like a throwback to 70's pop excess. Once the vocals come in, Fischer's decidedly modern pop sensibilities pull everything together in an unexpected way.

If "Black Mariah" is an impressive opening statement, the second track, "Dead To Me", is the unmistakable sound of a band winning you over. The track's syncopated bounce and Fischer's languid drawl show a genuine love for the piano men of yore, simultaneously creating something as familiar as it is fresh.  "Halo of Flies" opens with an eerie, dissonant guitar riff followed by downright pummeling guitars. The Alice Cooper-penned rocker blooms with droning bass, psychedelic guitar effects and Fischer's voice taking on a sneer that is undeniably faithful to the source.

"Mrs. Rogers (& the Land of Make-Believe)" is an unnerving whirling dervish with Middle Eastern roots, "Dancin' Girl" is a smooth R&B jam, complete with a sultry guitar solo, and the title track shows off pianistic prowess before exploding into a Bat Out Of Hell-styled multi-movement epic.

But somehow - despite the completion of such an ambitious album, one showing a depth and range of musicality most artists will never achieve - Fischer still isn't satisfied. "We're actually already halfway complete with the album that will come out next, and we're aiming to have that one released within 12 months," he said.

Here's what the press have raved about Fischer's Flicker:

"In a day and age of minimalist attitudes, Fischer strives to balance the music with musical theatrics and avant-garde mindset hearkening back to the prog rock giants of the '70s" - AntiMusic.com

"This is quite an entertaining and strong release" - Music Street Journal

"Sounds like a contemporary version of The Band, with a bit of Leon Russell and maybe Wilco thrown in. Scott Fischer has an endearingly Rick Danko styled voice, and a strong sense of melody." - Musoscribe

"Smart orchestrations, wonderful piano themes & classy melodies." - Grande Rock

Scott Fischer's brain is like a vast musical amusement park and he wants to take us all on a thrilling ride. Fischer's Flicker is the latest brainchild of Fischer, a Chicago native, and marks the next step in a musical evolution that began over 15 years ago. While Fischer's Flicker's debut album, "Katmandon't" is more mature sounding than Fischer's previous efforts, it stays true to the core of Fischer's music with big melodies and ambitious composition.  Fischer's earlier projects include Deja Voo Doo and it's ambitious release "Carpe P.M.: Honor Comes Only After Humility".  Notably, Deja Voo Doo performed live at Zappening 2000 (a tribute festival to Frank Zappa).   After several years of writing and performing, Deja Voo Doo evolved into Powderhouse and then into Babaganoo. After a hiatus, during which Fischer honed his skills while touring on the corporate/cover band circuit which included a stint in The Virgin Islands and large profile shows at Summerfest and Vince Lombardi Awards, Fischer returned to his passion for original composition and formed Fischer's Flicker. The band is comprised of Deja Voo Doo alumni including Mario Licciardi and Tim Kubiak on guitar, Turan Yon on bass and Tim Gavin on drums.

Scott explains, "I write about what I'm going through, and I've experienced a heck of a lot between 'Katmandon't' and 'Fornever and Never'.  The material, overall, is more challenging and I feel that, while it's not a concept album, there is a definite journey involved."

Fischer's Flicker released "Fornever and Never" on August 15, 2015

Prog Ensemble The Aaron Clift Experiment To Release Highly Anticipated Concept Album “Outer Light, Inner Darkness”

Austin, TX - One of the most eagerly awaited Prog albums of 2015 will be released in September by The Aaron Clift Experiment! Titled "Outer Light, Inner Darkness", this is the second CD by the Austin ensemble and marks a musical plateau for the group with its intricate compositions, complex arrangements and virtuosic performances!

Band leader, Aaron explains, " 'Outer Light, Inner Darkness' is a concept album about duality: light vs. darkness, individual vs. group, hope vs. despair, etc. Songs in the first half of the album detail the conflict between these opposing forces, while the songs in second half of the album are a journey toward reconciling the extremes. The album culminates with 'Bathed in Moonlight,' a song about how humanity can learn to embrace its outer light and inner darkness and become one with both sides of its nature."

Watch the new video for "Kissed By The Sun": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=diGuQDBOGTo

Just as scientists conduct experiments by using their knowledge to explore the unknown, The Aaron Clift Experiment combines elements of classic and cutting-edge music into an innovative whole. The band's unique songs draw from a wide range of influences – from classic progressive rock acts like Genesis, Pink Floyd, and Rush to modern groups like Porcupine Tree and Opeth to classical and jazz composers like Beethoven, Schubert, and John Coltrane. Aside from its diversity, The Aaron Clift Experiment is dedicated to producing soulful, powerful music and an intense live show.

In 2012, the band released its critically acclaimed debut album, "Lonely Hills," to rave reviews from both fans and the music press and was named one of the best unsigned bands of 2013 by Prog Magazine.

With the release of the band's second album, "Outer Light, Inner Darkness" in September 2015, The Aaron Clift Experiment continues to lead the way in fusing the sophistication and depth of classical music with the passion and raw power of rock and roll. What began as an idea of how to create music has now blossomed into a full-fledged experiment. The band invites you to join them in this experiment as they embark on their new path.

Says Aaron, "Although The Aaron Clift Experiment started as my solo project, 'Outer Light, Inner Darkness' marks the birth of ACE as a full-fledged band. Unlike the first album, in which I wrote all the songs and arrangements, the songwriting and arranging process for the second album was a largely collaborative process, with all of the band members contributing elements to the sound that makes the album our most diverse to date. One of the fun challenges of co-writing between me and my band mates is that we all have very distinct songwriting styles and music preferences. As a result, we all pushed each other to write outside of our comfort zones. Sometimes this could be disorienting process, but in the end, it helped us write our strongest songs to date. The song, 'Aoide, Goddess of Song,' was in a way my commentary on what it can be like to come up with brand new music."

Here's what the press has raved about The Aaron Clift Experiment:

"The Aaron Clift Experiment strikes a nerve right away . . . pleasing as well as entertaining for the ears and mind, a true prog experience." - Closet Concert Arena

"There is a journey to be taken while listening to The Aaron Clift Experiment's songs, and for me that is one of the most appealing aspects of progressive music." - Dr. Music's Weekly Checkup

"The Aaron Clift Experiment has great melodies. . .the music is tight and controlled." - Austin Mix Tape

Featuring:
Aaron Clift – Vocals/Keyboards
Eric Gutierrez – Guitar
Joe Resnick – Drums
Devin North – Bass

In support of the new CD release, The Aaron Clift Experiment filmed a new music video for the album's lead single, "Kissed by the Sun." The video, which debuted early September, coincided with their August 27 album release show in Austin. Next year, they're looking to play some progressive rock festivals, particularly in Europe.
