D'accorD are finally ready to release their 3rd album, simply called "D'accorD III".

The third album from the Norwegian prog band D’accorD represents a variation on the route for the band. Whereas their last album, “Helike” (2010) was a massive conceptual piece - this time around - the band has gone for shorter and more diverse tracks. The impulses from the 70’s progressive sound are still there, so is the remarkable complexity in the music. But this time around, D’accorD has incorporated more rock’n’roll and a tougher edge - which are the elements for a progressive rock album with a salient variation to the songs.

“D’accorD III” was recorded at the fully analog Cowshed Studio in London, where The Beautiful South, Jamie Cullum, Boy George among others has recorded. D’accorD wanted a more authentic and real 70’s sound on this album, and the feeling of the recording is raw, real and live. All the songs on the album was recorded live with minimal overdubs to 24 tracks of analog tape, and this live sounding classic album was mixed and recorded within 10 days. Analog mastering was done at Fluid Mastering in London (Deep Purple, Elvis, Jethro Tull and more).

With the album “D’accorD III”, the band has made a classic rock album filled with adventurous and progressive sounds.

Sure Shot Worx does the promotion in Germany.

ANUBIS GATE ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM WITH ALBUM ART, TRACKLIST AND RELEASE DATE!

Finally the eagerly anticipated sixth album of Danish Prog-Metallers
Anubis Gate is on the Horizon. They're new album "Horizons" is
unquestionably the bands most mature work to date. Combining their
signature epic songwriting with the brilliant production team of Kim
Olesen and Jacob Hansen yet again. Being released on Nightmare Records
distributed by Sony/RED, release date is April 15th, 2014.

Anubis Gate hit the studio the summer of 2013 recording their new opus
"Horizons" which is unmistakably Anubis Gate's sound yet goes again to
new places. Places perhaps one would call daring. From the liquid
grooves to uneven time signatures, trademark soundscapes and heavy,
sometimes even thrash metal riffing you will know this is both in the
tradition of the band yet breaks new ground. Anubis Gate blend 80's
melodic heavy rock, epic ambience and a contemporary dark layered
progressive metal. Inspired by the likes of Savatage, Genesis, Iron
Maiden, Queensryche, King Crimson, Iced Earth, Crimson Glory, Fates
Warning, Lord Bane & Tad Morose yet always sounding completely unique.
New guitarist Michael Bodin's heavy riffing works exceptionally well
in a duel with long time guitarist Kim Olesen. The forward driving
drums, courtesy of new drummer Morten Gade Sørensen, are a treat in
themselves. Henrik Fevres melodic vocals are even more amazing and
heartfelt than ever before. "Horizons" showcases the band on it's
highest peak. Anubis Gate 2014 is: Henrik Fevre, Kim Olesen, Michael
Bodin and Morten Gade Sørensen.

***The CD version will contain a hidden fan treasure not found on the
digital sites. There will be a CD-ROM EP recorded live in 2005, the
EP includes 4 tracks and dedicated artwork. The tracks are live
versions of songs from their first two albums "Purification" and "A
Perfect Forever".

Dutch Rock Legends FOCUS' Hit Song "Hocus Pocus" Featured In New 'RoboCop' Film!

London, UK - Focus fans rejoice! The group's 1972 worldwide hit “Hocus Pocus” is now being featured in the major motion picture 'RoboCop' starring Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman and Michael Keaton. The song, which features the distinctive and virtuosic yodeling by keyboardist Thijs Van Leer, was originally released on the band's critically acclaimed second album 'Moving Waves'.

Check out the 'RoboCop' promo clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8vuu0ZbvX8

Says Thijs, “A good friend of mine was so lucky to be present at the pre-premiere of the new ROBOCOP and he called me WHILE 'Hocus Pocus' was played during the film, shouting, 'Hey Thijs, they put your genius song on the best sequence of the picture!!! Congratulations!!!!!' Since that very moment I am crazily happy about this luxurious feeling: as the composer, the yodeller, Hammond-organ player & flautist!! Halleluya!!!”

With their unique brand of progressive rock, Focus manifested themselves at the start of the '70s as the most successful and appreciated of all the Dutch pop-rock exports. Fronted by founding member Thijs Van Leer, and best known for their hits “Hocus Pocus”, “House of The King” and “Sylvia”, as well as critically acclaimed albums 'Moving Waves', 'Focus 3' and 'Hamburger Concerto', the iconic Dutch music masters are back with their tenth album, which is guaranteed to please their legions of fans!
After a comeback in the early 2000's, which resulted in the well-received albums 'Focus 8' and 'Focus 9', the band regrouped with a fantastic new line-up. Along with Thijs van Leer on vocals, flute and keyboards, back on the drums is beloved Focus drummer Pierre van der Linden, who joined the group on their second album 'Moving Waves' in 1972. Internationally renowned for his rhythmic skills, Pierre remains a defining factor in the Focus sound. Bassist Bobby Jacobs, who comes from a well-acclaimed Dutch musical family, and guitarist Menno Gootjes, who participated in Focus at an earlier stage, complete the band's current line-up.

Focus has been performing select shows in support of their forthcoming 11th album 'Golden Oldies', which features re-recordings of classic Focus tracks. Thijs explains, “Producing 'Golden Oldies' is tricky. Both the die hard fans and the 2014 Focus-members were having doubts about this enterprise, because we didn't know if the recent recordings would match the original material, notwithstanding the fact that we had so much fun in doing the session, quick, romantic, virtuoso, full of funny moments & profoundness; But... the final mix turns out to be fantastic and we all are proud to release this album at our earliest convenience!!”

Fen Vocalist Launches Solo Project: Slug Comparison

Vancouver, Canada - Doug Harrison, vocalist for Canada-based
progressive rockers FEN, has launched a solo project called Slug
Comparison, and the debut release is a music video for the song
"Bringer of Doom."

A dark collaboration between Harrison and Swedish director Peter
Wiholm, the video depicts a woman (actor Kim Arklie) who slits her
wrists and lowers herself into a bathtub, then enters the dream-like
world of her subconscious. In the shadows of this world a mysterious
man (actor Brad Hammerstron) keeps appearing, and the woman finds
herself running for safety.

"The story wasn't what I had in mind when I wrote the song," says
Harrison, "But when Peter came up with the idea, I was impressed by
how well it matched the lyrics, so we went ahead with making it."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yfil3fGcW0U&HD=1

"Bringer of Doom" is the first of a group of songs written at the same
time as FEN's Ripple Music release, Of Losing Interest. Harrison says,
"Between writing sessions with the band, I found I had more energy to
keep going, and more ideas kept coming out of me, so I'd work on those
at home, piecing them together on my computer. Eventually I had enough
of them that I realized I needed a new project."

For "Bringer of Doom" Harrison wrote and performed and/or programmed
all of the instruments with the help of long-time FEN producer, Mike
Southworth of Creativ Studios. The song is available for $1 at

Prog Band An Endless Sporadic To Release New Single and Video In Support Of Progressive Nation at Sea 2014 Cruise Appearance

“A wild progressive sonic ride. It's thrilling to hear progressive rock that is fresh and inspiring. These guys are obviously very skilled and their music is brimming over with youthful creativity and vitality.” - Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater)

Los Angeles, CA - One of the most talked about up and coming prog groups of 2014, An Endless Sporadic, is releasing a new single “Spaceship Factory” in support of their upcoming appearance on the Progressive Nation at Sea 2014 cruise hosted by Transatlantic's Mike Portnoy! The band, comprising of Zach Kamins (guitars, keyboards), Andy Gentile (drums), Tony Solis (guitar), and Eloy Palacios (bass), have also filmed a new video to the single and can be watched here: http://youtu.be/jCe8NcS3yBs

Says Zach, “I composed the main theme for 'Spaceship Factory' a couple of years ago with the intention of it being part of an orchestral piece that would eventually morph into a progressive rock piece. I've always loved film scores in movies about big space adventures. So, I wrote a piece while imagining landing on an alien planet and coming across a factory building spaceships. When I originally came up with the theme, I wasn't sure how I wanted to develop the rest of the piece. Now that An Endless Sporadic has reunited, it seemed like the perfect vehicle for this piece.”

The band's new single will be part of a forthcoming EP that will also include a studio recording of the song “Derpulous” (the band released a demo version of the track a few months ago) as well as brand new material. It is also the 6 year anniversary of An Endless Sporadic's first EP 'Ameliorate', so plans to re-record a couple songs from that EP as bonus tracks are in the works. The group is planning on running a Pledge Music campaign to help fund the recordings.

Says Zach, “We have enough music demoed for a full length album and depending on how the EP does, we might want to repackage the EP as a full length later on. The idea is that because our music has a sporadic nature but also explores theme development, we want to try and find ways to expand on older material while introducing plenty of fresh material.”

Zach and Andy originally formed the band in 2005 in Houston, TX through a series of random jam/improv sessions together. Eventually, Andy moved to Los Angeles to work for Neversoft, while Zach moved to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music. The duo continued to write music together over the internet and eventually their song “Sun Of Pearl” was featured in Tony Hawk's American Wasteland video game. The track “Impulse” was added as a bonus song in Guitar Hero 3, and the track “Anything” has been featured in Guitar Hero: World Tour as free Downloadable Content in the Neversoft Track Pack. The band has a wide rage of musical influences, which can be heard throughout their work, and include ELP, King Crimson, Dream Theater, The Flower Kings, Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Dillinger Escape Plan, Sikth, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Primus, Mr. Bungle and Ozric Tentacles.

“A wild progressive sonic ride. It's thrilling to hear progressive rock that is fresh and inspiring. These guys are obviously very skilled and their music is brimming over with youthful creativity and vitality.” - Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater)

Prog guitarist Roine Stolt, best known for his work with The Flower Kings, Transatlantic and Agents of Mercy, produced the duo's self-titled, full length album with Jonas Reingold (of The Flower Kings) featured on bass. Roine relates, “A couple years ago I got contacted by an American band to help produce their record. I knew little about them but heard they've been into doing music for gaming. They were a dynamic duo called An Endless Sporadic. As soon as I said 'yes' I got my mailbox flooded with audio files with a gazillion 'out there' ideas. Zach Kamins, who is the main writer, is a young man with a vivid imagination and all the music he writes expose all freedom that I remember from yesteryears prog. Zach and Andy propose that progressive rock can be played even today, by 'kids' that could as well be...my kids. They have the relentless energy and the will to go beyond formula and I can see great things coming from the band in the future. Now it helps that they are friendly and fun people too.”

Here's what the press has raved about An Endless Sporadic's 2008 debut 'Ameliorate' EP and their self-titled, full length release in 2009:

“The whole album is an onslaught of riffs. The band never seams to run out of ideas of original guitar riffs often over layered with melodic leads. But what makes this band unique is more than just their interesting guitar parts linked together by odd time signatures, melodic soloing and chaotic breakdowns. Each song features unique extras that separate them from the rest of the songs on the EP and make everything sound fresh.” - Simon Harris, SCREAM!

“Overall, this is some pretty impressive stuff, 34 minutes of instrumental jazz-fusion, progressive metal, and progressive rock, with equal amounts of chops and well written memorable songs. Expect big things from this outfit folks.” - Peter Pardo, Sea Of Tranquility

“The bottom line with AES's debut album is to never get too used to one particular tune or motif as it will disappear before you realize how much you loved it...it's nonetheless a vibrant display of their skills.” - Joe Osborne, Geekadelphia

An Endless Sporadic is excited about their upcoming performance on the Progressive Nation at Sea 2014 cruise, which runs from February 18-22. Others performing are legendary Jon Anderson of YES, Transatlantic, Portnoy Sheehan Macalpine Sherinian, Adrian Belew, Devin Townsend, Spock's Beard, The Flower Kings, Animals as Leaders, Periphery and many others. Says Zach, “Sixthman ran a competition called Sixthman Soundcheck, where they were selecting three up and coming progressive rock bands to add to the bill. We actually weren't selected, but we later received an e-mail that Mike Portnoy had a hard time choosing the three bands and decided to add a 5th stage to the cruise. We were selected to play on that stage.”

New Re-Issue of Rare Fankhauser Cassidy Band CD 'On The Blue Road' Featuring Guitar Icon Merrell Fankhauser and Spirit Drum Legend Ed Cassidy Now Available!

London, UK - Merrell Fankhauser is considered one of the main innovators of surf music and psychedelic folk rock, and is widely known as the leader of the instrumental surf group The Impacts who had the international hit “Wipeout”. His travels from Hollywood to his 15 year jungle experience on the island of Maui have been documented in numerous music books and magazines in the US and Europe. Merrell has gained legendary international status throughout the field of rock music; his credits include over 300 songs published and released. Merrell Fankhauser has presented a number of television programs over the years including 'California Music', 'Route 66 TV Live', and in 2001 he began hosting a music show called 'Tiki Lounge' that airs on the California Central Coast, Southern California, Hawaii and parts of the East Coast. In the early '90s Merrell teamed up with Spirit drum legend Ed Cassidy, which eventually led to the Fankhauser Cassidy Band.

Says Merrell about Ed Cassidy, “We started on the first one I think in 1994 and he and I were friends for years. We met back in 1969 in passing back stage at a concert but never really had a conversation. Then we bumped into each other again around 1990 and the band Spirit was kind of in a lull then, and he said, “Hey we ought to do some recording together.” At the time I was doing a national satellite TV show called California Music and so I had him on that show and then Randy said, 'Oh I'd like to be on that show', so I interviewed Randy and then I ended up jamming with them all. And then Cass decided he wanted to move further out of the Los Angeles area and he moved up here to the central coast, and I helped find him a house not even a mile from my house, so it was perfect and he wanted to do something blues oriented. So I started writing a bunch of tunes and then we did some classic covers of songs like 'High Heel Sneakers' and the Muddy Waters song 'Going Down To Louisiana' and 'Walking The Dog', and then I wrote a bunch of songs that were in a similar vein that was perfect for me to play slide on. I loved it.

I think in about four-and-a-half/five months we cranked out the first album, 'On the Blue Road' and my son Tim was singing and playing on a few tunes and we had a regular bass player Leroy Richards at the time who did all of the bass. So we finished that first album and I sent it to Alligator Records in Chicago and they loved it, but they were full up with releases and I made a deal with D-Town Records from Detroit at the time, and they put out groups like the Ohio Players and Lee Rogers, and even one on the football player Rosey Greer. And they loved it and released the CD and and it started getting a lot of airplay all over the place, even in Australia. Then it was nominated for a Memphis Blues Award which surprised me. We didn't win but it was just great to do the nomination!”

In closing Merrell had this to say about Ed Cassidy, “Cass was my musical guru, to be able to play drums the way he did into his late '80s was amazing! I miss his drumming and also his wit and wisdom...we were close friends for nearly 25 years until his passing a year ago. I think this release is a fine tribute to him.”

Other recent releases by Merrell Fankhauser on Gonzo Multimedia:

Rainbow Bridge Revisited: 'Rainbow Bridge' was a peculiar 1972 film featuring Jimi Hendrix (who had died two years before) and a cast of local eccentrics using Hendrix’s music and a whole slew of UFO sightings to explore their spirituality. 41 years later, musician and filmmaker Merrell Fankhauser revisits the film to explore its message more fully. The 'Rainbow Bridge Revisited' documentary was really Maui journalist Steve Omar's idea, and Merrell and Steve produced it together. The two had fun looking up and interviewing the original cast of the 1972 Jimi Hendrix movie 'Rainbow Bridge' that was filmed on Maui. It was interesting to hear what they had to say about hanging out with Hendrix making the movie. The one-hour DVD documentary also features some great surfing and music by Merrell Fankhauser, The Space Patrol and Omar and The Wavespies. The package includes a 12-song soundtrack.

Area 51: Now for 2013 comes a new project – Area 51. This is a collection of exquisitely produced and finely played instrumentals inspired by the UFO mythos. The title track, which features a fine video by yours truly, and which nearly got me arrested for filming outside GCHQ at Morwenstow in North Devon, is inspired by the legendary Area 51 in Nevada; a (not very) secret American military installation where – it is rumoured – alien artifacts and even bodies, including the craft and occupants from the 1947 Roswell, New Mexico incident are kept. One of the most amazing things about this collection of songs is that although it is an exercise in a genre which is popularly thought to have its heyday over half a century ago, it doesn’t sound dated, and is full of rich, vibrant and exciting music for the 21st Century and a new millennium. Merrell has done it again, and produced the latest exciting gem in a long and satisfying career full of them.

Return To MU: Return To Mu is a seven years in the making album featuring a cast of famous guest artists including with Jay Ferguson and Ed Cassidy of Spirit, Dean Torrence of Jan and Dean, John McEuen of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Nicky Hopkins, John Cipolinna both of whom played for Quicksilver Messenger Service and many others. The album is considered a masterpiece amongst friend's critics and fans and was produced by award winning movie and record producer, William E. McEuen. Originally released in 2003 to many good reviews this album has had limited availability until now.

The Best of Merrell Fankhauser: The Best of Merrell Fankhauser is just that the best tracks selected from Merrell’s entire career and across a two CD set and more than thirty tracks you can track the progress of Merrell Fankhauser’s career. All the tracks have been selected personally by Merrell and the album covers the period from 1964 right through to the present and covers all the bands Merrell was involved with including his early band Merrell and The Exiles. Tracks include: Too Many Heartbreaks, She’s Gone, I’m Flyin’ Home, Goin’ South and also a number of previously unreleased tracks. Merrell Fankhauser has a long and varied career and also a proven sales track record and this double Best Of compilation will act as not only a primer for new fans but also a good cross section of tracks from his career for long term fans.

Recently, Merrell has mastered some unreleased songs from 1964 to 1967 from reel-to-reel tape. He visited the high desert area of Lancaster, CA and acquired the tapes from Glen MacArthur Jr, son of Glenn Records owner, Glenn MacArthur senior, who passed away in 1999. The tapes sat in storage for nearly 50 years! The recordings feature several pre-members of HMS Bounty, MU and Captain Beefheart playing on them. Also included are tracks from the instrumental surf group The Velvetones, who Merrell produced in 1965. Scheduled for release in 2014, 'The Lost Desert Tapes' featuring Merrell And The Exiles, Fapardokly and The Velvetones, will be a must for all fans of Merrell Fankhauser!

The album entitled "Kill the King" will give a new meaning to hard'n'heavy music! The names associated with it are true legends on the hard rock scene: on the vocals - Doogie White (Rainbow, Michael Schenker, Yngwie Malmsteen), on the drums - Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath, Heaven & Hell, DIO), on the bass - Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake), who join forces with the 16-year-old Polish guitarist Iggy Gwadera, who made his debut 2 years ago as the guitarist of Anti Tank Nun.

WAMI is currently promoting the album in Poland with the track "Guardian of Your Heart", which features guest appearance by Piotr Cugowski from a popular Polish rock band Bracia. The first international single "Wild Woman (You Oughta Know)" will be officially released on March, 11th.

WAMI 2014

The idea to record an album together was born after Thin Lizzy's concert in Poland. The bassist Marco Mendoza, delighted with the young guitarist Iggy, who supported Thin Lizzy with his band Anti Tank Nun, suggested that they record some music together. This first idea, which was maturing for the next dozen-odd months, eventually evolved into the project involving legendary musicians, who are currently recording a brand new album together with Iggy. The drummer Vinny Appice, renowned for playing in some of the best heavy metal bands of worldwide fame, as also the bassist Marco Mendoza have already finished recording bass and drum tracks in Los Angeles. In late November 2013, Doogie White confronted his vocal talent with Iggy's guitar technique during their recording sessions in Poland. Hard rock fans can well expect the results of these sessions to be truly outstanding!

Leaders Of The New Psych Rock Movement Pay Tribute To The Original Riders On The Storm, The Doors!

Featuring The Black Angels, The Raveonettes, Clinic, Psychic Ills, Sons Of Hippies, Elephant Stone, Dead Skeletons and more!

Los Angeles, CA - Doors fans, prepare to have your minds blown all over again! On March 4th, L.A.-based indie label Cleopatra Records will release A Psych Tribute to The Doors a heartfelt salute to the hometown heroes who put L.A. on the astrological map, legendary psychedelic rock band The Doors! Contributing to this epic tribute are several leaders of psych rock’s next wave of sonic visionaries including Danish indie rockers The Raveonettes, British post-punk revivalists Clinic, and Austin TX psych rock superstars The Black Angels whose fuzzed out version of “Soul Kitchen” is currently available as an “instant gratification” track on the iTunes album pre-order here: http://georiot.co/cnH

Formed at the apex of the 20th century’s most tumultuous decade, The Doors led a musical and cultural revolution, shaking up notions of what rock bands looked like and sounded like. A quartet with electric organ substituting for bass guitar and led by a shaggy-haired hippy/philosopher/poet with model looks, the band released just 6 albums with front(mad)man Jim Morrison, yet those albums contained enough classic songs to inspire and influence a legion of bands. From the sexy tease of “Light My Fire” to the bluesy sleaze of “Love Me Two Times” not to mention the pioneering experimentations of “Riders On The Storm” and “The End,” the legacy of The Doors endures precisely because their songs transcended time and place, reaching outward and touching artists and musicians generation after generation.

No wonder then that when the call was issued for participants on this tribute album, many – like stoner rock icons Dead Meadow – leapt at the opportunity. “From the very beginning of our band to recording in the hallowed halls of Sunset Sound, where the Doors recorded all of their classic albums, we would listen to the mystical sounds of the Doors for magic. The escapism and dark tunes were a huge influence...It was an honor to be able to reinterpret them...” Montreal’s Elephant Stone likewise enthuses, “When asked to be involved with this tribute I knew I did not want to just play a Doors tune; I wanted to reinvent it...So, we reconstructed ‘L.A. Woman’ as a drone-y psyche tune that maintained the West Coast vibe but with an added dash of Madchester, a sprinkling of Live at Pompeii and swirl of backwards sitar. Mojo rising indeed.”

1. Elephant Stone - L.A. Woman
2. The Black Angels - Soul Kitchen
3. Psychic Ills - Love Me Two Times
4. Dark Horses - Hello, I Love You
5. Camera - People Are Strange
6. Dead Meadow - The Crystal Ship
7. Sons Of Hippies - The Soft Parade
8. Dead Skeletons - Riders On The Storm
9. Wall Of Death - Light My Fire
10. Clinic - Touch Me
11. VietNam - Roadhouse Blues
12. Geri X - Love Her Madly
13. The Raveonettes - The End

Prog metal wizards BIGELF are back with their new album "Into The Maelstrom"

Prog metal wizards BIGELF have been through tough times during the past years including the tragic death of former guitarist A.H.M. Butler-Jones resulting in a "spontaneous hiatus" in 2011 as mastermind Damon Fox calls it.

Marking the BIGELF debut of drum god Mike Portnoy (ex-Dream Theater) the Californian band's fourth album "Into The Maelstrom" is also the first for new label home InsideOutMusic and takes their melodic prog-doom to new heights profiting from an inspired and reinvigorated Fox: " Making the record has been a certain kind of journey. A few years ago I had to completely let go of BIGELF, which was painful but it came back with force and vision. As such, the music began to shape from a different perspective and I have been able to see an alternative way of accomplishing my goals. To me, 'Into The Maelstrom' is a genesis, a bridge between the band and a larger audience. Strap yourselves in ladies and gentlemen, you're in for a wild ride."

The band just released a first track, „Control Freak", in form of a lyric video. Check it out below in the media section. 'Into The Maelstrom' will be available on a limited 2CD digipak which includes exclusive re-mixes & demo versions, as well as a gatefold 2LP vinyl edition which includes the full album on CD. The full track-listing is as follows:

1. Incredible Time Machine
2. Hypersleep
3. Already Gone
