A little background:
As mentioned in the short promo video, for constructing the set, we pillaged dirt, sand, rocks, sticks and foliage from local parks and beaches. We also got a few things from dollar stores. We assembled the stuff on a raised six by four foot plywood board, first in the puppeteers' apartment, then in Sam's kitchen. During the fire scene we had all the windows open and fans blasting, but despite these precautions, the room billowed with smoke and it was a miracle none of us was asphyxiated. During the rain scenes at Sam's groundfloor apartment, considerable water was spilled onto his kitchen linoleum and drained into the livingroom carpet, possibly drowning countless microorganisms. Also during the rain scenes, Doug's tendonitis flared up from firing the spritzer bottles for so many hours.
Getting this video together was a harrying adventure, and a lot of people helped us along the way.
