There Is Hope: Disaster Relief Album to Benefit Hurricane SandyVictims
November 6th, 2012, Helsinki, Finland – Progressive rock band Corvus Stone have provided their song "October Sad Song" to the album There Is Hope: Disaster Relief. A digital album that currently features over 20 songs (more are being added), the set benefits Music For Relief, a charity set up specifically to render aid to the those impacted by Hurricane Sandy. The Corvus Stone contribution comes from their brand new album, released on Melodic Revolution Records.
That self-titled Corvus Stone debut was just released (digital only with physical copies coming next month) on Melodic Revolution Records. A world premiere of the entire Corvus Stone disc happened on Aiiradio.net was hosted by Tony Romero on Aiiradio.net on November 2nd. Although the actual band Corvus Stone is a reasonably new outfit, the various members of the group have some notable musical pedigrees. Guitarist Colin Tench is known for his work in BunChakeze, Road to Avalon (featuring former Flower Kings drummer Zoltan Csörsz Jr.) and the Colin Tench Project. Petri Lemmy Lindström (bass) plays in Progeland and Saturn Twilight and was formerly in Lyijykomppania. Keyboardist Pasi Koivu has performed as a solo artist and with Psychedelic Eye. Drummer Robert Wolff was previously in Raven and Micah. The album also includes guest appearances by Blake Carpenter of Road to Avalon and Minstrel's Ghost (vocals) and John Culley (Black Widow and Odin) who provides guitar on one song.
