Leash Eye - listen to the first new track from "Hard Truckin' Rock" album // download link - radio promotion

"Me & Mr. Bean", the first track promoting the new full-length album by the Metal/Southern Rock band Leash Eye, is now available to stream on Metal Mind Productions' YouTube channel in THIS location.

Leash Eye call its own music as Hard Truckin' Rock. Technically speaking, it's a mixture of good old hard rock sound dating back to the 70's with scents of stoner metal and southern rock tradition. The core of the band's sound comprises of well embedded rhythm section ,mighty sound of guitars and distorted Hammond organs. The classical hard rocking vocal gives a nice finish to it all. This blend is bottled into one band playing 21st century style hard rock! Leash Eye's third studio album entitled „Hard Truckin' Rock"  is scheduled for release on October, 14th in Europe and November, 5th in USA (via MVD).

The band was founded by three friends, playing for their own enjoyment. As their musical goal, the band decided to follow the same road as the one chosen by Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Kyuss, Tool, Illusion, and Spiritual Beggars. In March 1999, the band recorded 5 songs, which were featured on their promo CD. The change of the lead singer in 2003 triggered also a change of their style - these days Leash Eye stands for melodious hard rock of the 70's, accompanied by heavy, modern sounds and classic vocals. In Autumn 2009, Leash Eye's debut album "V.E.N.I", featuring guest appearance of Riverside's Michał Łapaja on the Hammond organ, sees the light of day. The album met with the acclaim of both critics and listeners. The year 2010 is marked by intense work on new songs, which are to be included on the band's new full-length album. Ultimately, 10 out of 13 compositions are chosen and, in the beginning of 2011, the band enter Sound Division Studio in Warsaw to record their 2nd album "V.I.D.I.", with Behemoth's Orion as the producer and Vesania's Heinrich as sound engineer. Until now, the year 2011 was definitely the most successful year in Leash Eye's career. They won Antyradio's competition and, as a result, their right to perform at Sonisphere Festival next to Motorhead and Iron Maiden. Also, they represented Poland at Wacken Open Air festival, where they performed as the winners of Polish edition of Wacken Metal Battle. Also in 2011, they released their second full-length studio album "V.I.D.I.".
And still the best is yet to come. Their third studio album „Hard Truckin' Rock" is scheduled for release on October, 14th in Europe and November, 5th in USA (via MVD).

Joe Bonamassa to release "Tour De Force - Live In London" DVD & Blu-ray

On Monday 28th October, blues-rock guitarist Joe Bonamassa will release"Tour De Force - Live In London", a collection of DVD & Blu-ray releases chronicling his historic run of four consecutive London concerts staged between March 26th-30th. The DVDs and Blu-rays are released by ProvogueRecords, a division of Mascot Label Group.

Martone / Drover CD/DVD package from Magna Carta



"Live At Metalworks" captures audio/video performances by Dave Martone and Glen Drover which were streamed live over the internet on September 25, 2011. This show was viewed by over 25,000 people in over 63 countries around the World.  

Dave Martone (a true modern guitar hero) performs with his band on such guitar virtuouso tracks as "The Goodie Squiggee Song" and "Dinky Pinky" from Martone's Magna Carta debut, "Clean" (MA-90972). Other highlights of Martone's set include a cover of Charlie Daniels Band's "The Devil Went Down To Georgia". Another special moment occurs when Martone brings Glen Drover on stage for an encore version of Joe Satriani's "Crush Of Love".

Glen Drover (best known for his work in Megadeth) performs with his band (which includes Saga keyboardist, Jim Gilmour) on a version of Frank Zappa's "Filthy Habits" as well as "Colors Of Infinity" and "Ascension" from Glen's Magna Carta debut, "Metalusion" (MA-91082). Drover brings Dave Martone back on stage for an encore version of Megadeth's "Symphony Of Destruction" with Glen on vocals.

Osada Vida - listen to the third single from the new album. One-off gig in Germany!

Osada Vida still promote their most recent album. "Particles" is their first release after the line-up change in 2012, when Marek Majewski (ex-Acute Mind) joined the band as their new vocalist. New album includes 9 new tracks plus a brilliant cover of Metallica's track "Master of Puppets". One of the tracks include a guest vocal appearance by Sivy known from the Polish metal band Tuff Enuff.
 
And today you can listen to the third single chosen for the promotion. Lyric video to the track "Until You're Gone" is available on Metal Mind Productions' channel on YouTube in THIS location.
 
Good news for the fans in Germany. The band plays one-off gig in Reichenbach – Bergkeller on November, 23rd!
 
Osada Vida is one of the most interesting Polish bands on the prog-rock scene. Their discography includes three demos and three well received official releases - "Three Seats Behind a Triangle" (2006/2007), "The Body Parts Party" (2008), "Uninvited Dreams" (2009). Their albums feature elaborately beautiful music in the vein of Yes, Porcupine Tree, Pain Of Salvation and Riverside. In early July, Osada Vida released their first live DVD entitled "Where The Devils Live" featuring the recording of their live appearance at the Wyspianski Theater in Katowice, Poland in Autumn 2011. The band recently debuted in a new improved line-up - they have added a new vocalist Marek Majewski, previously known from the band Acute Mind. Osada Vida is also recognized worldwide - they played at the famous US' ROSfest 2011 and at the beginning of October 2012 they were a part of Israeli ProgStage festival where they performed next to Andromeda, The Flower Kings or Orphaned Land.

The band was formed in late 2003 by Daniel Lechmański and Piotr Sikora. Their first studio album "Skyward" from  2006 received quite good reviews. Over the next few years, the bands struggled with line-up changes within the rhythm section, but continued to create music and to play occasional concerts. In the meantime, Daniel Lechmański joined Chain Reaction and recorded three albums with them. Also, Piotr Sikora is a member of Leash Eye since 2009. In January 2012 the band started to record their second album - "Humagination". During the recording time, it turned out that their vocalist Marcin will not be able to complete the recordings. Krzysztof Sokołowski aka Mistress of the Night  became their new frontman. As a result, the recordings ended in early 2013.

"Alchemy" by Clive Nolan - see the preview of the live DVD! Cheltenham shows - this weekend!

Clive Nolan (Pendragon, Arena, Strangers on A Train) returns in late September with a DVD featuring a live version of his most ambitious solo project to date – the rock musical "Alchemy". Brought to life by a host of artists well known on the prog-rock scene, "Alchemy" is a Victorian adventure set in 1842, with a sense of the dark and mysterious. The musical sees the return of many actors known from the Caamora Theatre Company's previous productions of "She" – Clive Nolan, Agnieszka Świta, David Clifford, Victoria Bolley, Chris Lewis and Soheila Clifford – aided by such remarkable singers as Tracy Hitchings (Strangers on a Train, Landmarq), Andy Sears (Twelfth Night), Paul Manzi (Arena, Oliver Wakeman Band), and Damian Wilson (Threshold, Headspace). With an excellent line-up of musicians, including Mark Westwood (guitars), Scott Higham (drums), Claudio Momberg (piano), Kylan Amos (bass), and of course Clive Nolan himself, the show guarantees to provide an outstanding musical experience for all fans of well-written and perfectly performed ambitious prog music.

The DVD recorded in February in Wyspiański Theater (Katowice, Poland), is enriched by a number of additional features, such as interviews with Clive Nolan, Agnieszka Świta, David Clifford, Scott Higham, and Mark Westwood, as also "The Making of Alchemy" material.

The 'Alchemy' shows in Cheltenham will take place over three days at the Playhouse Theatre on 5th, 6th and 7th September 2013. The audience will have a chance to see the principal cast in the three evening shows. Additionally, a matinee show performed by the understudies will take place on Saturday afternoon. Cheltenham production will be a fully theatrical version of the musical featuring eleven leading characters, the band and the Caamora Company Chorus. The preparations for the performances began in autumn 2012.
 
Clive Nolan comments: „So… we have just finished the 'production rehearsal weekend, and I think it's fair to say we are all exhausted! We covered an immense amount of ground, and hats off to all the cast and crew who attended… That was a lot of work and energy, but there it was… a show! It just need placing into the Playhouse, and those essential 'dress rehearsals', then that's it… 'Alchemy' on stage! Recently returned from Atlanta where we managed to film the final stop on Justin Hayward's solo tour for a brand new DVD release which I am producing & directing. It was an amazing show and it has now been captured in hi-def for posterity. Justin, as you all know, is lead singer & guitarist with the Moody Blues who has written and performed such classics as Nights in White Satin, Tuesday Afternoon, Question, The Story in Your Eyes, The Voice, Your Wildest Dreams, I Know You're Out There Somewhere, etc.

As such, the recording of the follow up to my album Random Acts of Beauty will remain on hold until I've completed the post production on Justin Hayward's live DVD. But I do promise to get back to it in due time.

Cross Over Chaos: the results of Uganga's second european tour

The Brazilian thrashcore band played 10 gigs over eight different
countries in July

"Cross Over Chaos - European Tour 2013". This was the title of one
more sucessful european tour completed by UGANGA. This time, the
Brazilian thrashcore band played 10 gigs during a 15 days trip in
July.
Along with the polish thrash metal band Terrodome, UGANGA visited some
countries that the band had not played in its previous 2010 european
tour, like Hungary, Austria, France, Italy, Slovakia and Slovenia,
besides Poland and Switzerland that already knew the fire power of the
Brazilians.

According to the vocalist Manu Joker, "Cross Over Chaos - European
Tour 2013" exceeded all expectations and consolidated the
international career of the band.

"It may sound redundant, cliché or whatever it is, but the truth is
that the second Uganga tour in Europe was even better than the first
one, which had been great", says the musician. "We have our feet on
the ground and we don't go there dreaming about fairy tales. We had
consciousness that just a few people there knew "who's this Uganga?"
when we went for the first time, and because of that we worked hard to
promote the album Vol 3, our first release in Europe. The response was
good, Metal Soldiers Records from Portugal did its job, and so us with
our manager Eliton Tomasi, and with that we came back more popular
this time, but nothing more than you can find on the underground
basements of any place in the world. We also need to highlight the
great job the guys of Terrordome did, they are a great band and worked
hard to make this tour happen like it was."

Is remarkable the amount of Brazilian bands that have been venturing
through european roads on the last years. Not finding in Brazil a
favorable market with appropriate opportunities and conditions, even
more heavy metal bands have been focusing its work on foreign market
searching for recognition.

UGANGA is no exception, however, the band's work outsides is not
punctual, but it has been built a few years now and with prospects for
growth and return increasingly better.

"In general, the conditions offered in Europe are better than here in
Brazil", continues Joker. "We live in a very beautiful country, but
ruled by pigs thieves. In Europe you have better equipment, better
structured clubs, punctuality and fair fees in most of the cases. But,
for me, what most marked in this second trip was the reaction of the
people to our music, after all, we went there to play! It was
rewarding to see that even singing in portuguese, we had a great
response night after night with people headbanging during all the set,
screaming the name of the band, buying merchandise and looking for us
to talk and take pictures after the gigs. I'm sure that our third
european tour will be even better than the second one and so on.
Keeping the head in place, we can go far beyond from where we are
now".

UGANGA has launched a video of the new song "Moleque de Pedra"

Besides the vocalist Manu "Joker" (famous for also being the drummer
of Sarcofágo in the eighties), UGANGA is formed by Christian Franco
(guitar), Thiago Soraggi(guitar), Raphael "Ras" Franco (bass) and
Marco Henriques (drums).

UGANGA's second european tour had as goal the promotion of the band's
most recent release, the live album Eurocaos Ao Vivo, which was
recorded in Germany and Portugal in 2010.
At the moment the band is about to release its fifth album, the fourth
studio release, titled Opressor. The recordings were already finished
at Rock Lab Studios in Goiania/Brazil with the producer Gustavo
Vazquez (Black Drawning Chalks, Macaco Bong, Krow, Hellbenders) and
will bring 10 brand new tracks besides a new recording for a brazilian
heavy metal classic.

Imagery inks international deal with Cleopatra Records

Bands like Tangerine Dream, Hawkwind and Nektar are also on the roster of the american label

With just five years of career and one album released, the Brazilian prog rock/metal band IMAGERY already has much to be proud of.


In march of last year, they did the opening-act show for FOCUS, the progressive rock worldwide legend.

The Inner Journey, its debut album, was nominated as "Best Heavy Metal Album from 2012" for "Premio Dynamite", the most important prize of the Brazilian independent music scene.

The debut was very well received by the entire Brazilian press and got maximum rate in some magazines and sites, among them, Rock On Stage. They declared that IMAGERY "owes nothing to bands like Dream Theater and Fates Warning in terms of quality".

Among these and other achievements, perhaps the most important is the one the band is now announcing: the signing of a contract with an international record company!

IMAGERY has just inked a distribution deal with the american label Cleopatra Records that now will make available the album The Inner Journey for North America, Europe and Asia.

Based in Los Angeles, California, Cleopatra Records is for 20 years in the music industry and is one of the biggest references in the prog rock camp. Legendary progressive bands like Tangerine Dream, Hawkwind and Nektar are also on the roster of the label.

IL TEMPIO DELLE CLESSIDRE - "Alienatura"
Alienatura is a fancy word, composed by the intersection of words alien and nature: it contains multiple interpretations that see the protagonist the Nature as Entity and Spirit. The cover (painted by talented painter Alessandro Sala) depicts the Nature ripping a curtain (which outlines the theatrical element of artistic music) and invades the homes and villages pushing towards the sea and brandishing so surreal moon, trying to recover what you have been ripped off. In the lyrics is the ambivalence of the word alienanatura, they tell of how humans often forget the arcane bond with Nature and circles (mostly in vain) to govern and subdue it, thus alienating it. The Moon and the Wind are two fundamental elements of the image. The introduction of the disc is a sort of translation into music of a current of wind that crosses different corners of the world to reach the minds of those who play (and listen to), thus providing a key to the entire disk. The voices are another important element of this second job: the new singer Francesco Ciapica, offering brand new colors to the musical interpretations and each member of the group lends his voice to songs and harmonies, the result of a significant work of composition: Elisa also plays the link between the feminine spirit and Nature telling the arrival of the night in a musical poetry dedicated to the moon. Care of sound, voice enrichments, arrangements sought, lyricism and drama, symbolism related between music and image, extensive work on photography and visual communication are factors that make AlieNatura a detailed representation of the world ofIL TEMPIO DELLE CLESSIDRE, natural continuation of the first record, but with a heightened musical awareness and intent even more tangible to express their own musical identity, conceptual and stylistic. Drummers! Are YOU in the 200 Club? LA Metal Drummer Rick BooM Steel Releases New Book!

After taking the drumming world by storm,with his book "The
Footiments", Rick 'BooM' Steel has once again amazed the drumming
community. With his latest video, "Bumble Blast:16th note Double Pedal
Double Strokes at 200 beats per minute", BooM shows why he's known as
the "Double Pedal Demon". He challenges Drummers everywhere, "Are YOU
in the 200 Club?"

At his YouTube page (www.youtube.com/thefootiments), BooM
says,"...Doubles, Flams, Ruffs, and Paradiddles: NOT just for the
hands!" With Bumble Blast, he exemplifies how you can use the
materials from his book. "Some Classical Music-when played as Metal-is
heavy", says BooM. "When performing 'Flight of the Bumble Bee', many
orchestras invite a guest soloist to show off their chops. So, I used
crunchy guitar, heavy bass, keyboard, and cranked the tempo to 200
beats per minute".

BooM, known as "...one of the Best Drummers in Los Angeles...", is the
consummate Drummer, Composer, Clinician, and Educator. "At one time, I
was not in the 200 Club, and trust me, I tried!", BooM laughs. "It was
the morning of Christmas Eve. The studio was empty. I had no family
local, so I decided to try playing (traditional R/L/R/L) 16th notes on
my Double Bass kit at 200 b.p.m.'s. I worked and worked. Then, at 180
b.p.m.'s it happened: ouch! I felt something tear in my left leg. I
got up and struggled to a chair. After fifteen minutes, I arose and
the pain was worse! I spent the next three days with my left leg
elevated, unable to move". It was here, BooM gave up on the 200
Club...

But, after some great advice from the late Ron Spagnardi, BooM decided
to begin writing his book, "The Footiments" (www.thefootiments.com).
He explains, "I was my 'own' student. I wrote the book so I could
achieve the 200 Club!" For those in the know, his Double Pedal Double
Strokes are played 'heel-toe'. BooM remembers the first time he used
this technique with a band. "After Gregg Bissonette (David Lee Roth,
Joe Satriani) recorded the drum tracks for the band "Bleed", he wasn't
available for the live shows". Vocalist Robin McAuley (MSG,Survivor)
and Bjorn Englen (Quiet Riot,Yngwie Malmsteen), after watching BooM
play, offered him the gig. "I remember putting in some 16th and 32nd
note double strokes", says BooM. When recording the last 'Thirty Round
Clip' CD (www.thirtyroundclip.com), he applied Double Pedal 16th note
triplets to the song, "god Media". "At first, our producer Darian
Rundall (Pennywise, Suicidal Tendencies) was a skeptic. He didn't
think I could dig out the triplets at 150 b.p.m.'s". Using the Double
Stroke Footiment, BooM was successful....producer happy.

Metal...Double Pedal...Shredding...these are the words the Double
Pedal Demon lives by. First, in 2012, drummers around the world were
introduced to 26 Footiments. Now, with this amazing version of 'Flight
of the Bumble Bee'--Bumble Blast, BooM has pushed the envelope again.
He says, "When I teach, it's my my job to solve drumming problems...

In 1995, Yes reformed its revered mid-1970s line-up, Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, Steve Howe, Rick Wakeman and Alan White.

Epic new studio tracks, recalling the ambition of the band's heyday, were recorded at Yesworld studios in San Luis Obispo, California throughout the winter of 1995 and spring of 1996, and the band subsequently staged a series of concerts at The Freemont Theatre in SLO performing material from all phases of its career (including major songs from Close To The Edge, Tales From Topographic Oceans and Going For The One).

Both in the studio and live, the reformed band gelled superbly and the complete recordings are available on this wonderful Roger Dean presented 4cd / 1 dvd set.

LA TULIPE NOIRE - "Matricide"
This amazing Greece Progressive Rock group was formed in Athens in 1997, recording "In the Gate of Dream" with greek lyrics and the following members: Lena on vocals, Alix - piano & keys, S. Kontakis - el. & ac. guitar, Y. Barkoulas - el. & ac. guitar), George F. - drums and finally Hyde on bass guitar. During the recordings the band translated three songs in English and sent a tape to Musea. To their astonishment, because they were a new band and they came from a country without tradition in progressive, Musea showed interest in their work! So in 1997, La Tulipe Noire released their first CD titled "In the Gates of Dream". Then Lena left the band to continue her studies in classical vocals and George F. left the band due to health problems.  They were replaced by Ima on vocals and Nick Kassavetis on drums. Then, in 2000, La Tulipe Noire's  second album "Shattered Image" was released by Musea. It met a great success around the world. Hundreds of e-mails were sent...with enthousiastic comments about the group. Shortly after Y. Bakoulas left the band...replaced by K. Savvides  who started as "guest star" before becoming a regular member, then the group released "Faded Leaves" in 2002 with great success around the world.

Midnite Sun to go on hiatus

Midnite Sun have announced plans to go on hiatus. In an online posting the band wrote:

"After 13 years and two albums published, we decided to stop. We are very proud of our journey, we are aware of our values and even more of our mistakes. We don't know if it's gonna be an ultimate farewell, but right now there's no reason to go on. We want to thank all the people we've been working with and who supported us throughout the years, you will always have a special place in our memory! However, we don't want to take leave with these few words, we want to turn up the volume and make your ears bleed once again! Give us the chance to do it. Don't miss the Jack Daniel's Night at Black Rose (Acquafredda, Brescia, Italy) on September 21st, 2013! Forever Sweat, Sound & Blood!"

The Frantic Four Reunion 2013 Album, Competition & More...


In 2009, Status Quo's Rossi told an interviewer that getting the band's original line-up back together would be like "trying to get your d**k up your own a**e". Four years on, the band achieved the anatomically impossible and Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt were reunited with Alan Lancaster and John Coghlan for what became one of the most talked-about live events of the year.


Thanks to Abbey Road Live the tour was captured in all its glory and blistering live sets from sold out nights across the tour make up a box set, CD, DVD and Blu ray that are all being released on 30th September.

NOTE: this release will now be be available Sept. 30 in the UK, October 4th in the rest of Europe. The decision to move this back came down to doing it properly and not rushing it; apologies to anyone who's disappointed but we think you'll be happy with the result.
