The PJP Band rock hard, yet their sound is keyboard led. They have an energy on record and live that seems improbable (yet very real) coming from a 3-piece, leading to The Fly hailing them early on as "one of the country's finest live bands". The PJP Band are impassioned and raw but yet their unique blend of grunge inspired sub-pop is nothing but uplifting. They build unconventional, ballsy song structures yet their songs  are always an immediate accessible sonic blast of joy and wonder.

The release of PJP Band's 'American Lover' EP in 2011, saw them tipped heavily by 6Music's Tom Robinson. This led to a slot that year on Glastonbury's BBC Introducing Stage, with the DJ raving of the set to Steve Lamacq on 6Music: "Astonishing for a keyboard driven outfit, real grit and power" and Lauren Lauren broadcasting two live tracks from the performance on the station. Shows with Tall Ships, Wolf People, Slow Club and Dry The River followed, while frontman Patrick James Pearson was invited to session with We Are The Ocean, Blitz Kids, Great Cynics and Crazy Arm.

In November 2012 the band's debut single 'I Am A Racer' (taken from PJP Band's forthcoming debut album 'And So It Goes') received plays on Radio 1 after Liam of We Are The Ocean took the track to Edith Bowman and it won the Review Show's public vote.

The PJP Band recorded their debut album 'And So It Goes' with respected rock Producer Pete Miles (The King Blues, Sonic Boom 6, We Are The Ocean, Dry The River). Miles has described the debut in Rocksound magazine as "one of the finest albums I've produced ever" before going on to say in his 'Tips for 2013' post: "Pat's vocals and lyrics are overwhelmingly uplifting and the sound that comes from just the three of them playing together in one room is so powerful.  We recorded the whole album as live as possible, if we didn't get it in the first 3 takes we scrapped the whole song!. Never before has a record I've worked on made me want to dance, cry and love life as much as this one!"
