Toygrace - Average Songs

Toygrace formed in Rome, Italy, in August 2009, from the encounter of
vocalist Laura and piano player and composer Ema, both professional
musicians working as live performers for various tribute bands
throughout all Italy.

Ema had the project for some unsigned music and he already had many
songs written and arranged when he started, in mid 2009, to search for
a new female vocalist – since he had stopped the co-working with a
former singer who didn't match with the sound of his music.

Laura, a Ema's old friend, heard some of the tracks, being
enthusiastic since the beginning. Ema wasn't oriented on Laura's
voice, as he was searching for a darker kind of vocals, but a single
jam made him change his idea. Laura's light and delicate vocals
sounded as the missing element in Ema's music.

Few months later they choosed for the project the name "Toygrace".
"Grace" from the refrain of their song "Me, You", as the idea of
"grace" was really fitting with the atmosphere in their work; "Toy"
because Toygrace's music is meant to be some way ironic and not too
serious.

In august 2010, Laura brought the first Toygrace single "Great!" to
the Music Festival in Solarolo (IT), coming up to semifinals. Toygrace
also appeared together in some other local contest.

First Toygrace's album, "Average Songs", was self produced in
2010-2011, mastered at Synchronia Recording Studio in Rome, and
released for the digital sells in december 2011. For the single
"Great!", a videoclip has been directed by Rosencrantz & Guilderstern
from RG Factory in Rome.

In the "Average Songs" LP, also featured drummer Piero E. Pierantozzi,
bass player Simone Di Rienzo, vocalist Denis Tesselli and guitarist
Vince Grieco.

LAURA FERRI RICCHI (born in Rome, IT, 3 april 1979): Laura sings since
the age of 16 and she performs live with every kind of cover band
since her twenties. A literature lover and a great sport player, her
vocals allow her to move between prog-metal, latin jazz and pop music.
The work with Toygrace is Laura's first experience in unsigned music.
She has light brown hair and black eyes.

EMANUELE PARLATI, commonly known as Ema (born in BARI, south-eastern
Italy, 4 february 1976), has a past as extreme metal keyboardist in
the '90ies, as a member of the former death metal band Defunctis.
After, he moved to jazz studies and emproved himself as a professional
piano and keyboard player for many pop and rock live bands performing
around all Italy. He composed music and lyrics, arranged, produced and
mixed every track in Toygrace's works. In "Average Songs" he played
keyboards and guitars. He has black eyes and black hair.
