Shattered Destiny, formed in early 2011, is a progressive power /thrash band created by lead singer/songwriter JJ. Their "Fragments" EP was released in March 2012 and will be featured on BBC2's Louis Theroux show in June of 2012. The unique blend of musical influences firmly establishes their place withinthe metal world.
Lead singer JJ discovered guitarist Roman Guryev (Arida Vortex, Archontes) to complete the line-up. Roman added the virtuosity that was needed to realize JJ's vision. For the studio recording, Mark Zonder (Fates Warning, Warlord), agreed to step in and lay down his unique talents on drums.
"Fragments" was recorded in Rogue Studios Sweden by Martin Brändström (Dark Tranquillity) under the supervision of Joacim Cans (HammerFall) in early 2012. Pontus Norgren (HammerFall) — who brilliantly created a heavy, powerful, yet contemporary sounding album — mixed the EP. "Fragments" features original artwork by Niklas Sundin (Dark Tranquillity) and was mastered by Jens Bogren (AmonAmarth, Opeth). Shattered Destiny represents a new sound, merging influences from Dream Theater, Megadeth, HammerFall and Death. This EP is only the start of the Shattered Destiny epic.
Shattered Destiny has completed writing the full-length follow -up to "Fragments" and is seeking a label.
