KATA 'The Rising' - Double LP (Vinyl Release)

KATA's debut album 'The Rising' is ready for your ears, now all we need to do is press the vinyl. That's where you come in!
Our Plea to You!

After 2 years of writing and well over a year in the studio, we have The Rising, our debut full length album. The Rising is a 65 minute dark and beautifully moody journey of cinematic musical soundsapes where every second has been meticulously refined to our perfection. From the songs to the performances to the production to the artwork, everything about The Rising perfectly encapsulates KATA at this moment.

The only thing left in our quest is VINYL. For any audiophile, or even just for those who are still in love with the idea of buying and supporting music, and holding a tangible piece of that artists creation in their hands, vinyl is a necessity. That's where you come in.

Vinyl is not cheap, especially a Double LP. We have already exhausted all of our bank accounts, credit cards and wallets on the recording, mastering, CD production, and video production (yes, there is a video, or rather short film for the 14 minute epic 'Autumnal Reverie', being directed by Mitch Massie. There is also a second video for 'Seisha' likely to happen later this year by Adam Anderson).

So we are asking you to help us raise enough money to get this Double LP into production. In this strange age of music where labels are few and far between, together we will act as record label. We're offering some really fun incentives and I hope you can find it in you to help kickstart this project.

The Artwork and Packaging

Here's a graphic mock-up of the Double LP Gatefold of The Rising that we are asking you to help us create. The layout, design and graphic illustrations were done by Demetrius Antuña and the interior photography was done by Rebecca Antuña.

The Recording, Mixing and Mastering

The entire album was recorded and mixed over an 18 month time period at K St. Recorders, a studio built and run by Matthew and Lance of KATA. Keeping things nice and local, we went right down the street to Capricorn Mastering and got a very nice analog mastering job done by Joe Goodwin.
