Kris Pohlmann Band - One For Sorrow 'Blues Rock'

 

International blues-rock power trio the KRIS POHLMANN BAND are two-time German Rock & Pop Award Winners and WDR2 National Radio Newcomer Award Winners and
were founded in the summer of 2005 by the half English, half German singer songwriter and guitarist Kris Pohlmann and features Warren Richardson on bass and Elmar Stolley
on drums. The band's unique blend of hard blues and catchy song writing has established them as one of Germany's most popular and most active blues-rock bands.

After the release of their debut EP ‚Heavy Pain' in spring 2007 the KRIS POHLMANN BAND quickly established itself as a dynamic and exciting live act throughout Germany, supporting bands like Nine Below Zero and Eric Gales along the way. 'Heavy Pain' secured the band its first German Rock & Pop Award (awarded by the German Rock & Pop Association).

In 2009 the KRIS POHLMANN BAND released their first full CD 'New Resolution'. Featuring 12 songs written by Kris Pohlmann, the album sees the band covering not only the blues-rock genre that they are renowned for, but also a more commercial side. Songs from the album including 'Get Away' and 'I'll Come Around', with their catchy choruses, have been played on radio stations around the world. At the end of 2009 the KRIS POHLMANN BAND were awarded the German Rock & Pop Award as 'Best Blues-Rock Band' for 'New Resolution'.

In 2010, during a yearlong tour promoting 'New Resolution', the band was awarded the German Radio station WDR2 Newcomer Award. During 2011, in addition to constantly playing the German club circuit, the band played its first dates in neighbouring Holland and recorded its second album.

In January 2012 KRIS POHLMANN BAND released 'One For Sorrow' to world-wide critical acclaim. Building on their explosive debut success, 'One For Sorrow' features 11 new, self-written tracks. More energetic, more intense, yet deeper and more emotional, 'One For Sorrow' is the product of a band whose passion and raw talent has evolved following 2 years of relentless touring. 'One for Sorrow' features 2 firsts for the band; the band's first instrumental, the Gary Moore inspired instrumental 'One for Sorrow' and bass player Warren Richardson's first studio lead vocal on the souly blues ballad 'Nowhere to Run, Nowhere to Hide'.With over 40 concerts every year throughout Germany and the Netherlands the KRIS POHLMANN BAND is "a band we're going to hear a lot from in the future" (rocktimes) and a "trio that could well become world famous" (Blues News Germany).
