Swim The Mind and their debut album

Swim The Mind is a 4-piece alternative band out of central Connecticut, writing and performing original muzak. Trying to push the lines of the progressive and hard rock genre, Swim the Mind isn't your standard, run-of-the-mill rock band. With powerful melodies dancing around polyrhythmic grooves and thoughtful lyrics sometimes sang, sometimes belted, they tend to catch the musicians ear or the person who really understands music as being something more than just background noise. And while remaining true to their hard and progressive roots, they also choose to explore the slow and experimental dark-side of music, which adds a nice dynamic to their songs. Doogie White on Kruk's new album

The 6th of June will witness the release of the new album by KRUK, a Polish Hard Rock band, formed in 2001 by Piotr Brzychcy and Krzysztof Walczyk.
 
Their second studio album will feature a big surprise! The song "In Reverie", which will promote the album, will include a guest appearance by Doogie White! This charismatic singer is best known to the wide audience for his cooperation with such bands as Midnight Blue, Rainbow, Cornerstore, Yngwie Malmsteen, Rata Blanca and most recently Tank. This anticipated album will surely constitute an obligatory title for all fans of classic rock.
 
Kruk's musicians openly express their joy! They couldn't have hoped for a better present than Ritchie Blackmore's former singer's participation in their musical enterprise! As it turns out, Piotrek Brzychcy, Tomek Wiśniewski and Krzysztof Walczyk met White already in 2005 during their gig in Katowice, where they shared the stage with Yngwie Malmsteen. "We were extremely happy that, after the gig, we could give each other high five, that we could make some commemorative photos. Now he sings in our song, he sings our lyrics... on our album. It's hard to believe!" Piotrek says, adding "I remember one of my first conversations with Krzysiek Walczyk, when we expressed our utmost delight over Rainbow's 'Strangers in Us All'. It was back when we were just starting to form Kruk and we had never dreamed that we would ever have the honor of cooperating with Doogie White. We adored White for having set new standards in the Purple-Rainbow family with the way he sang with Blackmore. What he recorded for "In Reverie" is to our utmost satisfaction because you can hear passion and joy in every single note. I don't think there's a more happy band today in the entire universe than us!"

At the moment, Kruk are finishing their work on the new album. It will be released by Metal Mind Productions on 6th June.

URIAH HEEP’s "Into the Wild" a new album scheduled for release April.

Frontiers Records has scheduled the release of URIAH HEEP's forthcoming studio album "Into the Wild" on April 15th in Europe and May 3rd in North America.

Produced by Mike Paxman (Status Quo, Asia) the new album will include the following songs: Nail On The Head, I Can See You, Into The Wild, Money Talk, Trail Of Diamonds, Lost, Believe, Southern Star, I'm Ready, T-bird Angel, Kiss Of Freedom.

The cover art was designed again by the renowned Greek-American artist Ioannis (LYNYRD SKYNYRD, STYX, SAGA etc). A videoclip for "Nail on the Head" is going to be shot in the coming days and will be added to the album as a special interactive tool.

Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the signing of URIAH HEEP, the legendary British Hard Rock band for the release of their 23rd studio album in April 2011.

Following the completion of their 40th Anniversary Tour, the band started the recordings in January 2010 at Liscombe Park Studios in Buckinghamshire England. The confirmed title of the album is "Into the Wild" and it will include 11 brand new songs, including some epic additions to the band's huge catalogue of rock classics.

Uriah Heep debuted in 1970 with the release of one of Hard Rock music's milestones "Very 'eavy... Very 'umble" and have since sold in excess of 30 millions albums worldwide. Blackfield - Welcome To My DNA, new album and tour announced by Steven Wilson and Aviv Geffen

Blackfield is the acclaimed collaboration between Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree) and Israeli artist Aviv Geffen. The duo return with their third album Welcome To My DNA which is released on Kscope in March 2011. Formed after a meeting in 2000, the partnership blossomed into a cross-cultural collaboration that has already spawned two albums (2004's Blackfield and 2007's Blackfield II).

The duo will also be touring to support the release of the album with dates so far confirmed in UK, Holland, Germany, Poland, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium and France with an American tour following that (full tour dates below). These will be the first dates they have played together as Blackfield for over three years, due to both artists' recent hectic schedules.

Porcupine Tree's 2009 release, The Incident, is the band's bestselling album to date, reaching the top 30 in both the UK and USA, and the band has continued to raise its profile around the world, recently playing sold out gigs at London's Royal Albert Hall and New York's Radio City Music Hall. In addition to Porcupine Tree and Blackfield, Steven also records as a solo artist and is a Grammy nominated producer and mixer, working with the likes of Opeth, King Crimson, and Yoko Ono. He also co-wrote and sang a song on the recent UK number one album by Pendulum.

In 2009, Aviv released his first English language solo album (produced by Trevor Horn) and has supported U2 and Placebo. The son of esteemed Israeli poet Yehonatan Geffen and the nephew of Moshe Dayan, Geffen is Israel's leading counter-culture rock musician. A huge star in his native country, his records have been greeted with critical adulation, earning him a string of gold albums. An outspoken peace campaigner, he controversially refused to do compulsory military service, and his lyrics have been fiercely critical of the Israeli military and their actions.

Aviv has worked with various artists throughout his career, including Brett Anderson (Suede), Mercury Rev and Belle and Sebastian, but it has been his partnership with Steven that has proved the most fertile, and both artists have been keen to return to their work with Blackfield and have been working on the album for the last few months. Aviv explains, 'we made the album together, it wasn't an email album. Steven came to Israel and I came to London. We both had a great year, Steven with Porcupine Tree and me with my solo stuff but now it's a Blackfield year and we are both ready for it.'

He goes onto describe Welcome To My DNA as 'an album about loneliness and sadness. There are many songs about love, god... the same subjects that Blackfield have dealt with before.' Musically the album builds on the established Blackfield sound, described by Clash as 'a lush but soulful mix of separate cultures, deep sounds and touching lyrics,' and the results have lead Aviv to state 'I believe it's our best work so far and I'm really excited about going on stage with this album.'

A video of Steven and Aviv in the studio recording the album and discussing the concepts behind it is now online.

Travellers - that is the name of the new musical project of Wojtek Szadkowski

Travellers - that is the name of the new musical project of Wojtek Szadkowski, known for his past involvement with such acclaimed bands as Collage, Satellite, and Strawberry Fields.
 
As an artist, Szadkowski is strongly associated with the prog rock scene. That is why Travellers is going to be quite a surprise for all his fans, as it doesn't really have that much in common with that particular genre. And what can we expect of this new project? As Wojtek explains: "It's a mixture of prog, ethnic music, the 80's music, a lot of magic and space, and all of this crowned by Robin's fantastic voice..." And how fantastic that voice is, the fans could already hear on Strawberry Fields' album, which was a debut for Robin.
 
The band (in the line-up: Robin – vocals, Grzegorz "sencha atta" Leczkowski – guitars, Krzysiek Palczewski – bass lines, Wojtek Szadkowski – keys) are currently working on their debut album "Magic".

Wojtek Szadkowski describes the origins of Travellers: "I got the idea about forming Travellers by accident. I was checking various ideas which had been recorded throughout the several previous months and it turned out that some of them formed a certain consistent whole. They shared a certain specific mood, a bit ephemeral, a bit ethnic. I gathered them in a separate place and started adding in some ethnic loops. I remembered that, in the first version of one of Strawberry Fields songs, Robin sang in a very high-pitched voice. Her voice was a little bit reminiscent of Enya then... so I thought that it would be a perfect voice for this kind of project. But I had no idea who could play the guitar. I knew that it had to be someone that could feel the vibe of the 80's and of rock classics. I didn't want it to be a typical, obvious, progressive guitar in the vein of Steve Hackett's style - that would destroy all the mood. Incidentally, I met a friend of mine in the street, whom I hadn't seen for many, many years. I knew Grzesiek from the times of record boot sales. I knew he played something or other, I knew he had some sort of a band. But we hadn't seen each other for some 10-15 years! I told him about Travellers and he wanted to try. He sent me guitar tracks for the song "Dreaming". When I heard them, I had no doubt that no one else would fit that mood better than he did. He played perfectly. He chose a perfect sound, he added a new quality to the song and that was exactly what I wanted. We worked on the guitar tracks via the Internet - he would send me his tracks and I would say what was OK and what was to be corrected. Sometimes I would suggest some other solutions but these were merely cosmetic changes. I approved most of the guitar tracks without any changes whatsoever. Sometimes I would modify a song, the order of particular parts, the beginning after I'd heard the guitars - to make things work better. It was different with the bass tracks. I'm no good at playing the bass but, accidentally, Krzysiek, after hearing the songs, offered that he would play the bass lines on the synthesizer. In this way, the last jigsaw piece fell into place all by itself. Initially, because of my laziness, I wanted Robin to write the lyrics but eventually it was decided that I would do it."
 
The album is currently in the final recording stage. We will have to wait for the effects of the band's work till May, when the album "Magic" will be released. More details soon!

The Chicago based VEIL OF MAYA encompass the good old American blue collar work ethic and have definitely taken the hard road to success grinding it out on the road through countless tours over the years, but now that backbreaking schedule is paying off tenfold. NeraNature - new exciting project by Darzamat's vocalist

"Foresting Wounds", the new solo album by Nera (the female voice of Darzamat) will be released by Metal Mind Productions on the 8th of May.
 
The idea to form NeraNature was conceived in the beginning of 2009. The singer was searching for a way to communicate, via the medium of music, her thoughts regarding the eternal bond of man and nature, as also her personal impressions regarding her observations of various interpersonal relations and the emotions that accompany them. "I've been searching for the proper time and place for the kind of music and lyrics that would be a medium for my thoughts and beliefs for a long time. The time has come," Nera explains.
 
The name of the project - NeraNature - doesn't reflect only the artist's preoccupation with the question of the man-nature relation. It can also be interpreted as the nature of Nera, as a representative of women in search of meaning, ever learning from themselves and ever surprised by what lies in the deep of their own selves. It is this feminine tone of Nera's lyrics that constitutes one of the most significant elements of her songs. The lyrics involve the subject of difficult interpersonal relations but also the question of men getting dissociated from themselves and from nature. The beliefs described by Nera in her lyrics aren't only a pose, as she's been a vegetarian and a defender of animal rights for 15 years now.
 
Nera denies that the formation of her own band marks the end of her cooperation with Darzamat. In fact, the band is soon to play a number of concerts in South America and India. "There's a couple of exotic tours ahead of us but except for the live shows we're not planning any recordings for this year, though I hope we'll still record many new albums with Darzamat. Also, I have many plans regarding NeraNature and the other musicians from Darzamat work on their own side projects as well so it's hard to say right now when that will happen," she adds.
 
The album "Foresting Wounds" will consist of 12 atmospheric rock/metal compositions. It  was recorded together with the producer Jaroslaw Toifel. 4 demo tracks can be found on the project's official site on Myspace.

Aeon Zen will be touring Europe supporting the Devin Townsend Project throughout March for 23 shows (see the live page on my website or more details), but that's not all that's been going on in Aeon Zen land.

Along with getting ready for the tour, I've also been hard at work with a third Aeon Zen album and the process is well underway. So well underway in fact that I have finished writing and recording the majority of the music for the next album, and I'm now hard at work writing lyrics and vocal melodies. There's a big musical journey involved in the making, and listening, of this album and I look forward to you all joining me on it.

The group got together in early 2008, after emerging from the ashes of several Rock/Blues covers bands, progrock and hardrock bands dating, back to the 1980's.  Though they consider themselves as a "Classic-Rock/Prog-Rock band", the influences are many, from Blues, Jazz, Latin,Prog, NeoProg, Psychedelia, Hard rock, Funk and Classical music.
 
They like to explore and mix styles together, trying to get a broad musical landscape. They also try to stay close to the classic progrock sound ofthe 1960's & 70's, using a lot of vintage sounds like Rhodes piano, Mellotron, Hammond Organ, Moog & Prophet synthesizers.

Neil Zaza - The Melodic Master

His guitar playing has defined modern day instrumental guitar the world over. His melodic compositions have not only changed the way musicians play, but what audiences demand out of their guitar heroes. To see Ohio native Neil Zaza's influential impact on guitar across the globe, merely tune into the legion of thousands of fanatical fans performing his international hit, "I'm Alright" on YouTube. Neil's trademark "singing" and lyrical guitar style is easily recognizable and can only belong to one man: Neil Zaza.

"It's always been about the song for me," states Neil. "I remember all the tunes that really moved me when I was growing up and it wasn't about the guitarist playing 128th notes. It was about an inexplicable connection I felt drawing me to wear out my records as I couldn't get enough of that rush of the song itself! That's what I try and do with my music today. It's always about the song!"

Neil Zaza worldwide touring has cemented him as a true guitar phenomenon. He's played alongside and shared the stage with such guitar luminaries as Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, and Nuno Bettencourt. His recordings feature collaborations with Van Halen's Michael Anthony, Dream Theater's Jordan Rudess, drumming legend Steve Smith, Peter Frampton among others.

Neil Zaza's mastery of the guitar amasses accolades from all sources. While he continues to transform the world of instrumental rock music one melody at a time, it's his fiery interpretations of holiday repertoire fused with Classical melodies and classic Rock that is the basis for his One Silent Night… concert series. Syne a new italian progressiv​e rock band

The Syne project was born in 2009 form the mind of Fabio Marchisio with the idea of unite different influences onto something organic in order to express different feelings and moods.

The name SYNE is the abbreviation of SYNESTHESIA, a neurologically-based condition in which stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway leads to automatic, involuntary experiences in a second sensory or cognitive pathway.

    Peculiarity of this project is the use of alternate open guitar tunings and the use of 432hz instead of the conventional 440hz to tune the instruments.

    In spring 2010 they produced an EP, self-titled, with the collaboration of Eric Concas, ex singer of Nerovento.

    In Fall/Winter 2010 drummer Sergio Ponti (ex Ephel Duath) and bass player Fulvio Bosio join the band.

    At the moment the band is working on their debut album.

ALBERTO RIGONI'S NEW ALBUM "REBIRTH" - ARTWORK AND TRACKLIST REVEALED

Italian bass player Alberto Rigoni (TwinSpirits, Solo Artist) returns with his new solo album "Rebirth" that's going to be released by Nightmare Records on April 26th (via Sony / RED distribution, North America & Bertus & Twilight distribution & partners in Europe).
 
"Rebirth" contains a wide spectrum of music, from solo bass settings to more progressive songs. SPOCK'S BEARD TO SWEDEN ROCK THIS SUMMER!

Arguably the most important spearheading act in the great progressive rock renaissance of the late 90s. Spock's Beard from Los Angeles debuted in 1995, making a whole new generation aware of the heritage of bands like Genesis and Gentle Giant. In 2002, after six albums, frontman and then bandleader Neal Morse decided to leave Spock's Beard and go solo. Many were pleasantly surprised to find that Spock's Beard passed this test with flying colors. The band has since released four more albums, most recently "X" in 2010, their new incarnation displaying a tougher guitar sound more reminiscent of full-fledged hard rock. To all who have yearned to see one of the most important bands in contemporary prog rock at SRF, the waiting is finally over.

Santana / Journey Legend Gregg Rolie Releases New Solo EP

A personal and intimate reworking of Santana and Journey classics as well as Gregg's own compositions through solo voice and piano

Austin, TX – 2/21/2011 – Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame inductee Gregg Rolie, co-founder of two multi-platinum super groups, Santana and Journey, and the voice of such timeless classics as "Black Magic Woman" and 'Evil Ways', has released new solo EP, 'Five Days'. A personal and intimate reworking of Santana and Journey classics as well as Gregg's own compositions through solo voice and piano, 'Five Days' was recorded in the living room of his Central Texas home on the piano given to him by his father in the early days of Santana. "It's from my house to yours," says Gregg, whose new EP includes the songs "Black Magic Woman", "Anytime", "Love Doesn't Live Here Anymore", "If I Went Home", "Trouble In Mind" and "Cool Little Mama".

Gregg Rolie makes his first-ever solo appearance, Saturday March 5th at 9:00 pm on the grand piano in the lobby bar of The Four Seasons Hotel in Austin. This special performance is in celebration of his new solo EP, "Five Days". Gregg, along with his special guest, blues guitarist Alan Haynes, will be playing selections from the new EP along with many old favorites. He'll share stores from his 40-plus year career and answer questions from the audience during the show. Afterwards, Gregg will be on hand for pictures and autographs. Admission is free, and the event is open to the public.

Gregg Rolie is responsible for co-founding two phenomenally popular, multi-platinum super groups - Santana and Journey. In 1998, the world class keyboardist/vocalist/producer was inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame as part of the original Santana band. Formed in San Francisco in 1969, the multi-cultural ensemble produced three groundbreaking hit albums which yeilded several FM staples. You've heard Gregg's voice and keyboards on such classic Santana hits as "Black Magic Woman", "Evil Ways", "No One To Depend On", "Everybody's Everything" and "Oye Como Va". "There's one unique ability of the band," Gregg told music critic Ben Fong-Torres, "and that was that it created music that there is no name for... Santana's music is such a jell of different material that there just is no name for it."

Departing after the pioneering jazz fusion offering 'Caravansarai' in 1972, both band members Gregg Rolie and Neal Schon went on to form quintessential 1980s hit-makers Journey. After co-writing and producing the band's first 7 albums, along with constant touring, Gregg decided to leave Journey once the hugely successful 1981 live double LP 'Captured' was issued. During the '80s Rolie wrote, produced and played on the Santana albums 'Shango' and 'Freedom', and released his debut, self-titled 1985 solo album and its 1987 follow-up 'Gringo', before co-founding the all-new Journey-esque rock group The Storm at the tail end of the decade. The Storm released two albums: '92's eponymous disc that yielded the #13 Billboard Hot 100 hit "I've Got A Lot To Learn About Love" and '96's 'Eye Of the Storm'. That same year, Rolie, along with five other original Santana members, formed Abraxas Pool, a spirited collaboration that resulted in the 1997 critically acclaimed album of the same name.

Thirty-five years after Gregg and Carlos met in San Francisco, 2001 marked the release of Rolie's third solo album 'Roots'. The first-ever release on Bay-Area based Tower Records' new proprietary label 33rd Street, 'Roots' finds Gregg revisiting the incredible brew of sounds he helped conjure up in the late 60's. Rolie calls Roots' twelve original selections "Latin rock plus"; the instrumentation is Latin percussion, with organ, guitar, horns, and lots of great solo work and songwriting", adding that "I really wanted to go all the way back to my Santana roots".

Formed in 2006, the Gregg Rolie Band consists of Adrian Areas (son of original Santana percussionist Jose Chepito Areas) on Timbales, drummer Ron Wikso (who was also in The Storm), Rocket Ritchotte on guitars, internationally acclaimed bassist Gary Brown, percussionist Elliot "Toby" Borrero and former Jean Luc Ponty keyboardist Wally Minko. Last year, Gregg caused a flurry of excitement amongst the music press with the release of his latest CD 'Rain Dance". This live CD captures Gregg and his all-star band performing at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in 2007. The music press and fans alike have been raving about the new CD and have even compared Rolie's band to that of the original Santana group, in which Rolie was a founding member.

Ava Inferi new album

Dominated by the beautiful voice of Carmen Simões, who sings and charms in the female chorus Moonspell Crystal Mountain Singers, under the leadership of musician Rune Eriksen (with work recognized in Mayhem and Aura Noir), the Ava Inferi kick off in 2011, the fourth album with the title "Onyx. " In nearly six years of existence have already four albums and a sound that is based on the Doom Metal with progressive features.

So now it's good a new look. And it's got a shop integrated, where you can find releases from other labels. The biggest portion comes from the MPS re-issues that the jazz people from MPS rights owner Universal Music put out themselves. But there's also a compilation that was mainly put together by promising music's Consul Bodo Jacoby.

The shop also includes our two own new re-issues: "Open Strings" by JEAN-LUC PONTY EXPERIENCE and "Cup Full Of Dreams" by SUGAR CANE HARRIS.

As both violinists were contributing to Zappa's seminal Hot Rats album we captioned it HI FIDDLETY – THE HOT RATS CONNECTION.

Days Before Tomorrow new EP Update

We hoped to be finished with the new EP before the new year, but we're running a few months behind. You can't believe how many of the major snowstorms hit New Jersy mid-week... on days we were scheduled to be tracking! Then throw in various vacations (for some reason we all love to visit warmer destinations in the middle of winter) and a major hospital visit for one of our children (thankfully the end result will be a positive outcome) and it all adds up to some delays.

But the good news is that the music is sounding amazing. We're in the midst of tracking vocals, and then it's on to mixing. We know many of you can't wait to hear how the band has evolved musically since keyboardist Damon Fibraio and bassist Paul O'Keeffe joined our lineup last year. We're also itching to play out again.

MOF Artist & Event Management LTD has secured an exciting opportunity to produce events in a raw and outstanding space below London's Waterloo station. The Old Vic Tunnels is a network of Victorian red brick tunnels hidden beneath the unassuming main train station. With the rumble of trains overhead, the dimly lit atmosphere does not get more underground than these secret city vaults.

We are teaming up with the Old Vic to produce a series of events in the tunnels, showcasing exclusive performances from a wide range of high profile artists, with one off shows, album releases, secret gigs and after parties, expertly produced in a small pop up venue of only 500 capacity.

To launch our unique event series, we are excited to present original punk/glam instigators the New York Dolls promoting the UK release of their new album Dancing Backwards in High Heels (produced by Jason Hill of the Killers, released 14th March), these intimate shows are the only London dates on their UK tour (their last small venue show in London at the 100 Club sold out in 4 minutes).

Legendary guitarist Earl Slick, best known for his guitar playing on David Bowie's albums David Live (1974), Young Americans (1975) and Station To Station (1976), has officially joined the New York Dolls as the bands new guitarist on their exclusive London shows.

Support comes from London-based band The Shoestrung; who command an infectious blend of dirty blues and foot stomping British rock and roll.

Sandi Thom to release Merchants and Thieves "Deluxe Edition"

On Monday February 21st, Guardian Angels Records will release an exclusive digital Deluxe Edition of Sandi Thom's No.1 best-selling blues rock infused album Merchants and Thieves". The Deluxe Edition boasts two brand new, previously unreleased studio recordings, including Sandi's breathtaking rendition of the timeless folk classic House of the Rising Sun and Darren Haynes heartbreaking If Heartaches Were Nickels."
