NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK – FEBRUARY 2015: Two brothers from the land down under have been spending countless hours working on a new blues/pop release that is sure to take listeners by the ear with one listen. Hailing from Melbourne, Australia the pair (Mark & Luke Finn) performing as FINN have created a sonic experience entitled ART&ESPIONAGE. A lot went into the making of this release and it had high expectations after their 2011, 15track LP album release "FROM THE WELL".
'Art&Espionage' shows a huge step forward since 2011 showing that the band's potential to expand their sound is evolving into something of major artist caliber. FINN takes the best from their favorite artists and influences such as Eric Clapton, John Mayer, Jeff Buckley, JJ Cale, Bob Dylan, and Johnny Cash. They are storytellers and do it with ease as you can hear on this new cut.
"Art & Espionage was a reflection of the idea that all great artists are thieves. Good ones borrow, and great ones steal. I think it was Picasso who said that...or maybe T.S. Eliot...who also probably got it from someone else! The aim with this album was to steal from as many of the great artists that we grew up listening too, and make something that was a unique combination of that. Hopefully that comes through, and people can trace the influences, one way or another." ~FINN
The two stepped into the studio to record at Melbourne's BLACK PEARL STUDIOS with producer Terry Hart of Maestro Productions. The band brought on Joe Carra of Crystal Mastering to lend his professional ears to the ever so important mastering of the album. With this team something special was created and crafted over those days which would become the album you hear now. The band took careful consideration picking their first single release off the album and officially will have the track "CITY LIVING" as the kick off track for press consideration.
The band evokes a range of emotions that truly can connect with any listener regardless of social class or gender. This ability in not only their writing talents but also their impeccable instrumentation truly blends with the lyrics in a symphonic ease - it's just a straight up enjoyable album to listen to. No fluff or anything fake about it, which is what the music industry needs more of these days. Art&Espionage is a straight cut record that delves into the simplicities of one's life. FINN's ability to connect with their listeners marks them for a band to be put on your radar for 2015 artist's to watch.
